Literally the best service I have ever had in my life!!! We had a exceptionally nice family dinner here last weekend! My nephew chose this restaurant to celebrate his 10th birthday. He also came here for his birthday last year. He's a really adventurous eater for his age. They have a kids' menu available, but he wanted the real stuff! Our food was excellent, came out in a timely manner, portions were generous, and we never had to ask for a refill. I'm not sure if my cup ever got close to being empty. Our server was Hunter and he was very attentive and treated all of us, not just the birthday boy, like royalty! They brought out a brownie for my nephew and a personalized & signed birthday card from the entire staff! It wasn't just their signed names either, they even wrote messages to him. Seriously, these people went ABOVE & BEYOND. It was heartwarming to me to see other servers & the kitchen staff looking over from where they were to watch my nephew's reaction to all of this. We couldn't get over how nice they all were. I cannot sing the praises enough of this place & I am so grateful for the wonderful experience they gave my nephew (& all of us as well)! Where do I start? Ok so I get a smelly booth. I order the : SERAFIN'S FISH TACOS Fried Tilapia, tangy cabbage, pico de gallo, shredded cheese & a bacon ranchero sauce, rolled in a flour tortilla & grilled make these the "Best Fish Tacos in Town!" Best in town?!?!?!?!?! Wow these were not tacos. They were a mix between a quesadilla and a grilled burrito from Taco bell. The rice was ok. Worst fish tacos in Texas!!! read more

I love this restaurant, I frequently go to the California coast, and this place really reminds me of there. I got the blackened shrimp, and the calamari, and it tasted phenomenal. Good food ok service. I guess it depends on who is your waitress/waiter? We saw other tables who after us already got water and order appetizer while we just sat there and waiting on our waitress. We went there on Monday the 8th night and got some oysters and margaritas for the happy hour, sooo good. The main dish was a pretty small portion but I guess it's average around this area. It was our first time to eat here. We were looking for someplace different. We will be going back. At first I wasn't sure how it would be as the inside isn't fancy or big, but it was new looking and clean. They do have a nice outside area. Their service was awesome and the food was worth the trip. They fillet most of their fish there themselves, so the seafood is fresh. All their soups are homemade. Everyone enjoyed their food they ordered. We're new in town and decided to give Fish City Grill a try. OMG!!! The food is amazing. We had gumbo. It compared to some of the best we have every had. We eat a lot of shrimp po'boys and once again, one of the best we had ever had. The manager stopped by and explained how all the soup is made in house and all the seafood is fresh not frozen. First time in Georgetown. Found this location on yelp, and was greeted with big smiles and an open welcome. Manager introduced himself to me and started me with a sample oyster nacho. It was fantastic. Also had a sampling of all soups. All we're good, hard to choose from which was the best. I did keep it simple with a shrimp salad and a jalapeño soup. What a pleasant surprise! We won a gift certificate for this restaurant while in town at a local 5k. Since we don't live locally, we thought we'd use the certificate right away towards lunch. Now we live in Houston and have lived in Galveston and are frequent visitors to New Orleans, so we keep our fish expectations in check when visiting more inland locations ;). We too frequent Drago's in NOLA and were highly skeptical of a reviewer's claim that fish city grill was just as good on the charbroiled oysters. We ordered a dozen (and note the menu does NOT specify that listed item is for 1/2 dozen, so if you want a dozen, it's double that price)and while they were not to be mistaken with Drago's , they were on their way. They were really plump oysters. With more uniformity of the cheese and heavenly garlic mixture, these oysters could give Drago's a run for the money. We ordered a shrimp poboy dressed (came with onions-that's a new one on us!) and it was pretty darn good. Great job on the batter--not too much, just enough for crunch. Great job frying shrimp-they were still juicy and sweet, not at all rubbery. We also ordered a bowl of the roasted jalapeño soup. I would return just to eat that! It was so dang good. I'm still thinking about it today.... We had a couple of Bloody Mary's too, which were very good once we added a bit more pepper and hot sauce to our liking. Service was great. Stopped in for an impromptu lunch and was not disappointed! I had the crab stuffed flounder and it was AMAZING! The mashed potatoes and green bean sides were also great. We found this place almost by accident. My daughter & I with my two grandsons came in for early dinner. They brought a sampler of their soups & two oyster tacos. The cocktails were very good! Our server, Brandon, went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. The "kids meals" were of the highest quality & our usually fussy toddlers actually ate & we still took some home. We split a grilled trout that was delicious! The atmosphere was quiet & relaxing. We will definitely come back! I gave them 5 stars the first time. We went back last night and had a completely different experience. Our server was not good. He spent a lot of time behind the bar talking with two other employees. We ordered a cocktail & waited & waited. I finally flagged him down & asked if the drink was coming. The way he looked when he answered it was obvious he hadn't put in the order. A completely different server finally brought the marguerita without salt & I had ordered it with. My daughter gave up & went to the bar herself to get a drink. I ordered the trout again, which comes with 2 sides. I have to eat gluten free & none of the sides were GF. I asked if I could get a small side salad instead. I got an extra charge for that on the bill. My daughter also just wanted a small salad with just lettuce & dressing. That was just under $5. Every time we needed something we had to wait & wait for the server. He took the order of another table first, even though they came in after us. The kids meals were good. The manager could care less and other than repeating "we took it off your bill" had a horrible attitude an was a laughable bully dealing with the incident. Poor guy. It seems everyone knows that the fish tacos and oyster nachos are amazing!! In fact, I can't say that I have had a bad meal at Fish City. Every dish that I try has been great. But this review is not about the food but about the wonderful service that I had this day (12/12/2020). After three plus hours of socially distanced shopping, with long lines, something that I usually don't do, I convinced my wife to a late lunch at the Fish City in Georgetown. On a beautiful afternoon we decided to eat on the patio. A little wait for a table, but they have a nice waiting area outside, and after a few signature margaritas from the bar, we were finally seated. Now that wait was made great with the friendly and attentive service from the bartender; sorry I did not get his name, but we bonded over the fact that men should keep their women happy. For me, a happy wife is a happy life! After being seated, I was greeted by Shaye, who is now my all-time favorite server; and that is not because she comped me a free dessert because of my birthday. From her initial ask if I had been greeted, to her attentive, yet not hovering service, she made the dining a pleasurable experience. I worked in Georgetown for many years, and I was a regular at Fish City for a while. Since I no longer work there, we don't go as often, but I think service like this will bring us back more often. read more
