Never been to this location before today, but I was just as impressed with this one as the others! Located in a really nice shopping center (next to a Whole Foods) with lots of parking and other shops/stores. Surrounded by tons of luxury apartments so plenty of other customers. I went for a late lunch on a Tuesday so didn't have a wait at all. Inside is spacious and clean and there's also patio seating available. My server, Cris, was friendly, prompt and attentive. I never had to wait for him to check on me and he remembered everything to a tee. Today I had some east coast raw oysters, my fave kickin shrimp and the redfish with creamy/cheesy rice (one of the featured specials). When I tell you everything was PERFECT and absolutely DELISH?! WHEW! The fish was cooked to the perfect temperature, was super moist and absolutely tasty. I could've eaten a whole plate of that rice!!! The oysters were fresh and had the perfect combination of dressings (horseradish, cocktail sauce, and some amazing 3rd one that I think is special for FCG). I almost ordered another 1/2 dozen! For the price I definitely wasn't disappointed, the grilled cheese had a large amount of lobster and shrimp, solid pick and value for the price. Went in today with a party of six. Everything was amazing perfectly clean, and welcoming smiling staff and bartender greeted us. Food was delicious and the plate was presented in a very appetizing way. Fish was fresh seasoned perfectly. While we were there the manager stopped by twice to check on us, and as we left, wanted to ensure that everything, our dining experience was perfect. My husband had the prickly pear frozen margarita and the patron margarita. They were both weak surprisingly. We love chargrilled oysters and I must say 1/2 dozen for $17 will have you expecting nice big oysters and amazing flavor. There was neither of that. They were very small and bland in flavor. We ordered fish sticks and corn for my toddler. They literally used NO SALT. It was so bland, like there was no flavor whatsoever. I had the almond crusted cod with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It wasn't bad but needed salt. It was cooked very well so I can give them that. The sides were very regular. My husband had the best meal which was the blackened shrimp pasta. It had the most flavor but it still wasn't that great. The actual shrimp wasn't blackened but still decent. I'm just disappointed that not one thing amazed me with all the great reviews. This place was a decent compromise that satisfied us both. In addition to their printed menu, They have a huge chalkboard wall with daily specials. My husband went for one of the specials which was a blackened barramundi fish. It's highly sustainable and quite healthy with omega-3s. It was a nice white fish. I admit to trying out his dish in addition to mine. The ahi looked beautiful. The taste was lovely, especially on a bed of sweet salad mix. My gumbo had deep, rich flavors for the base roux. There were a few baby shrimp and small sausage chunks mixed in. I was okay with that, as I'm not a fan of the former. The waiter Leia allowed my husband to substitute his mashed potatoes with green beans. She was very amenable about the substitution and knowledgeable about the regular and special menu. She refilled the water glasses regularly, and served other special requests throughout the meal ("More napkins please! Can we also try that spicy margarita? Let's splurge and get the bread pudding!") Tried out Fish City based off some reviews I saw. Staff was friendly and quick. Our server wasn't super familiar with the menu but was able to find the info we needed. They have good happy hour specials, which they honor throughout the restaurant, not just the bar area like other establishments. Food was decent, we are big foodies so had high expectations. Wow talk about going out of the way for the customer, my experience here was great. This location was very clean and inviting. Their bar is a hybrid there is an interior and exterior seating area for nice Texas days. They have a great oyster bar with many varieties of oysters some I've never heard of. I sat down at the bar and after learning that I was new the server let me sample all of their signature soups Roasted Jalapeño, Crab Bisque, and Clam Chowder. First of all, that was a really cool customer service, food sampling, and profitable gesture by their staff. I chose the crab bisque, the clam chowder was good as well, as was the roasted jalapeño. I chose the crab is because it was creamy warming, and the heartiest of the three of you don't count the potatoes in the clam chowder. The Seafood platter came with catfish, shrimp and oysters, but you could sub the catfish with beer bartered cod. I choose the cod and it was excellent but very much a standard frozen cod cut in common shape. The oysters were were seasoned well I'd recommend. The shrimp was great, but I was searching for the oysters. Their customer service, and attention to detail is good. I would recommend this place and eat there again and try a different soup. read more

The oysters were so tiny that I could not see nor taste them over all the pico de gallo. Grilled Peach Old Fashioned (3-stars) - It tasted okay but I tasted more lime than peach flavor and I wouldn't call it an old fashioned. I was expecting to see some grilled peach and fresh thyme garnish from the description but sadly neither was present. I can't see why this recipe won an award. (Go to Ida Claire and get a Peachy Keane if you want nice peach cocktail) Crawfish Etouffee (4-stars) - The flavors were still there but the amount of crawfish was 25% less than my previous visit. read more
