    Onion rings & catfish

The fried shrimp was excellent! Enjoyed the fish. Onion rings were ok. I have ordered online from here before & it was too excellent

The service is very casual, you place your order at the desk. The menu is likely too extensive. We had the catfish with oysters and mahi mahi with crab. The catfish was average. The oysters were subpar. The fries and hush puppies were fine. The mahi mahi was subpar. The service team appeared on edge, maybe just post holiday fatigue. We will wait a while and try another location.

You have to eat with the old folks (before 5) if you don't want to stand in line to order. We ARE old folks, so it always works out for us. The service is always good, fast, and friendly here (and at the Garland location). If onions give you reflux and you think cilantro tastes like soap, you're in luck...you can order the shrimp cocktail without those. As you can see, they don't skrimp on the shrimp or avocado and even the mild has a nice little spicy kick. The pineapple salmon has a creamy pineapple sauce that is so good. The salmon was a little over done but still well seasoned. The side salad is always fresh and is plenty to share. If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault!

Calamari is so Horrible, no season none what so ever

Food needs season!!! The fried shrimp was pretty good but overall NOPE. A wide variety of food and c the customer service was good.

Grilled whole catfish, fried okra, onion rings

Ordered whole grilled catfish with fried okra and onion rings to go. The grilled fish was really good. Although I requested that the okra and onion rings be fried crispy, they weren't. I don't really care for soft okra or onion rings, so I placed them in my air fryer. That solved the problem.

Happy Mardi Gras y'all!! We stopped in for dinner on Fat Tuesday for dinner and drinks to celebrate, the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant had a really good crowd and everyone was having a good time. I ordered a hurricane cocktail and it was pretty good for the most part but the juice that they use was a bit thick and syrupy for my taste, it actually tasted a little better once the ice melted a bit and I gave it a good stir. They were not heavy-handed with the liquor, which is a good thing, because that can sometimes make a cocktail taste like medicine. Overall it was a decent hurricane and a good compliment to my meal. They did have crawfish but due to a paper cut on one hand and a snagged cuticle on the other, I opted for a safer choice and decided to get a fried seafood basket!! I got the catfish and oyster basket, it comes with hush puppies and I chose the onion rings as my side. Everything came out super hot and crispy, the restaurant was pretty busy so your food is not made until your order is placed and there is nothing like a piping hot meal. The breading on the catfish and oysters was crisped to perfection, well seasoned but my order was supposed to include four oysters and one of them was so tiny that I thought it was just some extra breading that had fallen off of something else. It was after I ate it, I then realized that was one of the oysters they actually counted as a complete piece after counting the remaining ones....boo! The hush puppies were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside just how I like them and the onion rings were golden and crunchy. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the items on their menu, especially now during Lent season.

People, this is really good seafood!!! Easy to get to, but parking can be tight as this place is full some nights. You order at the counter, get your drinks to the right and find a table (or cheat like some and have someone stake out a table. Be prepared for large groups/families around you of all ages. It can get a bit noisy. There are some sports on the multiple TV screens around the dining room. I ordered the Combo catfish (2 plump, flaky with crispy cornmeal batter), 2 hush puppies, fries and 3 butterflied shrimp plus I added another shrimp. My GF had the friend oysters and onion rings. The food was really good! Prices were reasonable and we'll be back!

Tasteless fish. Add cayenne at least. They fry it up real nice but it has no flavor. I'll stick with Big Shucks on Mockingbird.

They utilize team approach where someone else brought the drinks and food runners brought the food. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. Our water glasses were never empty. I ordered a Bloody Mary that they returned with a shrimp and celery stick. Nice touch. I specifically went here to try their soft shell crab and it did not disappoint. Others in the party had lobster rolls and the fried shrimp basket. I forgot to mention that we had the appetizers , crab hush puppies and fried oysters and both were excellent. We also tried the bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert that we really liked. Overall we would definitely return.

The mocktail was delicious. Our crab fingers appetizers were in a tasty sauce. The salad could've used more flavor to it and fresher lettuce, but i appreciated the amount of Parmesan cheese on top. I personally thought the presentation of the salmon was too much and a bit odd. I wish there was more sauce (or at least a side of sauce). The risotto was too bland, but the brussel sprouts were tasty and lemony. The salmon had a great crust, but it was too undercooked for me and wasn't the best salmon I've had. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare, but too us it seemed a lot more rare and wasn't seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were delicious. Our server was kind and helpful.

Don't let the looks of the restaurant discourage your visit...they definitely make it up on their freshly made and BIG portioned dishes that they serve. If you're a Vegetarian like me, we do have some choices...but, it's limited. I highly recommend their Tacos of Flor de Calabaza (Squash Blossom) and their Tacos of Huitlacoche, (Edible Corn Mushroom), pronounced weet-la-COH-cheh. They are big portioned and the tortillas de masa (corn tortillas) are freshly done...so, don't expect your dish fast since these people actually start doing your food as you order dish from their menu. They were delicious!!! Note: You can have the Flor de Calabaza (Squash Blossom) and Huitlacoche ((Edible Corn Mushroom) in empanadas too. Note: Huitlacoche (Edible Corn Mushroom) - It is also known as cuitlacoche, corn smut, and Mexican truffle. Note: The menu that's on this Yelp review from a fellow Yelper isn't the complete menu. After a long day in transit, all we wanted was something deeply satisfying, the kind of meal that feels like a reward. When my mother suggested Aunt Irene's Kitchen, there was no hesitation. She spoke of it with the reverence reserved for places that become part of your personal geography former neighborhood staples, the kind you measure other meals against. Years ago, when she lived nearby, this was her spot. And now, standing beside her in a line that stretched out the door, it was clear we weren't the only ones holding onto that sentiment. The queue moved with surprising ease, a quiet efficiency that felt almost practiced. Inside, the energy was unpretentious and steady. Our cashier, while not particularly warm, was brisk and knowledgeable answering questions with the kind of clarity that suggests confidence in the product more than performance. We ordered simply: wings with fries, and two plates of fried fish with fries. The wings hadn't been part of the original plan, but a fellow patron mid-meal and visibly excited leaned over to insist. It felt like advice worth taking. And it was. The food arrived in its own time this is not a place for the impatient but what it lacked in speed, it more than made up for in flavor. The fish was crisp and tender, the wings richly seasoned, each bite layered with the kind of depth that doesn't rush itself. Then there was the jalapeño tucked alongside the plate like a quiet signature. It cut through the richness with a bright, deliberate heat, a small but memorable detail that elevated the entire experience. The dining room itself is modest and well-kept, with many opting to take their meals to-go or retreat to their cars. There's an ease to it all ample parking, friendly faces coming and going, a sense of community that lingers longer than the wait. Because that's the thing about places like this: they don't just feed you, they remind you why the wait was worth it.
