When I first arrived, we looked at the menu. The restaurant was empty -- no tables or seating available. They told us the food would take about 15 minutes to prepare. We ordered a combo meal. My boyfriend got the hamburger, which comes on toast, and a Kool-Aid. I had the catfish. The catfish itself was good, though I wasn't a big fan of the crust -- it was okay. What I really enjoyed were the shrimp; they were actually delicious. I kind of wish I had just gotten a shrimp basket instead. The Kool-Aid was very sweet -- like, extra sweet. I usually only like red Kool-Aid, and the blue raspberry wasn't for me. Way too sugary. I dont mind sugary kool aid just not raspberry lol. My boyfriend liked the burger. It was simple, but he enjoyed it. In total, we spent around $49. Just a heads-up: the prices were higher in person than what we saw online -- they haven't updated the online menu. read more

Omg, these where some of the best wings I have ever had. The customer service is very good, we talked to them over the phone, Its a little sketchy when you first walk in, but the interior is very clean and sanitized and the ambiance is very homey. The wings and fries are 10/10 and they come with those juicy jalapeños that nobody has anymore. Overall, I would highly recommend if you are craving seafood or hot wings. 10/10, easiest five stars of my life. read more

Yo Ronnie! This is very delicious, Well seasoned, hot, fresh and juicy catfish!!! Love the fries that spicy tartar sauce, the barbecuing that I ordered on the side, the toast and all the fixings. This was exactly what I was looking for for catfish. My only critique is the fillets were a bit on the smaller end but other than that phenomenal. read more

We ordered the large catfish nugget meal from DoorDash and were very underwhelmed. They give you a lot of food, but the catfish tasted overwhelmingly of dirt (way more than it should), it was quite gritty and most of the batter was permanently stuck to the container. Also we specified no tartar sauce (just lots of extra ketchup) and got tartar sauce plus 4 ketchup packets for 15 pieces of fish plus fries (insert eye roll here). We threw most of it in the trash. read more

While I work, I wanted some good fried catfish and found Ronnie's while Yelp searching. When I walked in, there was only a counter to the back to place an order. There were no tables and chairs. I like to take into account the number of people I see inside of a restaurant to make a fair judgment. In this case, no one was ordering when I walked in and only one other person came into the restaurant to pick up an order. Okay, fair enough. After ordering my catfish platter, I waited for maybe 15 min until it was ready. Since there was no place to sit inside, I waited in my car. When I got my food and tasted it, it was just okay. I actually drove about 10 minutes from my job, so I didn't have to go out of my way. But would I consider going again?! Well, I can give them another try but I'm not pressed to get back over there. Like I mentioned, my catfish was just okay. I had French fries to go with it and they were average, at best. Maybe for the frequent customers, they love it but it's a strong C for me. Meh. read more

I was visiting the area and had a taste for fried fish so decided to order delivery from here after browsing its Yelp reviews. I never, ever have food delivered because I'm always afraid something will be wrong with my order. Well, no problems here. My fish was packaged properly and hot upon arrival. It was fried a nice golden brown with no fishy smell. Both the fish and fries were seasoned perfectly. The price I paid was well worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. read more

Based on solid Yelp reviews, I decided to check this place out when passing by its neighborhood. To be generous, I had a mixed experience: Good: 1. Medium smallish catfish fillets were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Not Good: 1. It's a decent sized place, completely empty, about 2000 square feet of customer area with no tables or chairs for dining in the whole space, disappointing when you want to eat your fish and fries while they're crisp and hot. 2. Solid fish is served with prepackaged tartar sauce in little sealed industrial packets- if you want the home made ("spicy") stuff, it'll cost you $0.75 per small plastic cup to see if it's any good. 3. Wait time is 10-15 minutes after you order (with nobody in front of you and nowhere to sit,) about twice as long as it takes to cook the fish and fries. Conclusion: not likely to return, unless the first two issues listed above are addressed and resolved. read more

This is my favorite location. The staff is always nice. The food is seasoned and not greasy and always ready at the time promised which is usually 15 minutes or less even on a Friday. I usually get the catfish nuggets but the pork boob chop is good too. read more

Consistent and delicious! I always get the catfish nuggets but have also tried the pork chop sandwich and hot link sandwich --I was hoping for an East Texas hot link but it was more similar to an Earl Campbell sausage with BBQ sauce. The pork chop sandwich was incredible with a LARGE fried bone-in on white bread. I'd order again. Best to call order in because your food is cooked to order! I made the mistake and ordered wings. I will never make that mistake again, I'm not sure how you're a seafood restaurant with bland wings , but this place pulled it off. Also, this place is hell bent on giving soggy fries. I'm not sure why this place either doesn't follow order notes or doesn't have the slightest clue how you can cook crisp fries and not burn them. They've yet to figure this out so they will stick with giving a box of soggy French fries instead. read more

I ordered from DoorDash for pickup. I arrived a little late. My food was ready and still hot. Although the flavor was good I was disappointed in how my plate looked. I ordered a 2pc whole catfish. My plate had 2 fish tails and another piece (like a fish steak). I was tempted to take it back but I was on short time. Due to feeling shorted I probably won't return but it did the job for when I was craving fried catfish. read more

My partner and called in and ordered a 4 piece filet dinner with french fries. The food was ready when we arrived and came out fresh and hot. The catfish was actually extra crispy authentic fried catfish! Dallas has a reputation of serving Swai and Talalpia instead of catfish! I was shocked and very pleased. The filets we big, the fry portion was large, and it also came with toast and fixings. The big winner was the price. I've never bought this amount of catfish for such a low price! The only complaint would be to add a little more seasoning to the fish but other than that it's golden. I will definitely be back! read more

I had just finished fasting and I decided to break my fast with Ronnie's. I have visited to location on the south side, but this one was way more convenient. I called my order in on my way to the restaurant. The attendant was friendly and courteous. I opted to a 4 pc ( I had been fasting so ). It came with fries, pickles, and two slices of white bread. The fish was well seasoned, but not fried to my liking. In their defense, I meant to ask for it to be fried hard and forgot‍. The fries were standard as was the bread and pickles. I love that combo of bread, pickle, fish. Had I ordered correctly, I would have loved it here as well. MAYBE I will give it another go when I am back in town, or MAYBE I'll just stick with my go-to‍. read more

I used to only visit the one in South Dallas, so when I moved to North Dallas, I was so happy to know there was a location 8 minutes from me. Food is great every single time I visit and fast. I got the pozole, which you should absolutely order, and a half grilled cheese on their housemate sourdough. Normally not my go to, but I was trying not to be completely stuffed since we had dinner plans. And they bake their own sourdough, so I had a strong feeling it would be great, and it delivered. Toasty and melty, American and cheddar. My husband got the southwestern wrap, and my friend went with the half club and half tomato soup. She immediately regretted not getting the pozole and the half birria sandwich, which tells you everything you need to know. Also need to mention the snickerdoodle. Not much to look at, kind of humble, but it completely makes up for it with flavor and that perfect soft texture. Go ahead and get the cookie. You are not here to make responsible decisions. The app clearly stated that the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad, which is why I chose that option instead of ordering a different special. When I arrived at the restaurant, I still had to wait in line before reaching the cashier. When I finally got to the counter, she handed me my sandwiches and then told me that I had ordered chips and potato salad but had not paid for them. I calmly explained that the app showed those items as included with the sandwich. Instead of resolving the situation professionally, she told me she needed to call the owner. She then had me step aside while she helped three other customers, leaving me waiting awkwardly off to the side. When the owner finally called her back, she spoke to him loudly (almost argumentatively) about me being there and "claiming" the sandwiches came with chips and potato salad. It was embarrassing because other customers could clearly hear what was happening. Ultimately, I was told the owner said the sandwiches did not come with those sides. At that point, I just took my sandwiches and left. The entire situation felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. If there was a mix-up with the app, that isn't the customer's fault. Good customer service would have been to honor what was displayed in the app and clarify the issue internally afterward. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and embarrassed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had.

The flavor was great and the cola was 10/10 so they get points for that. I'll try it again and give them another chance since we overall really liked the food.
