The fries are among the best I've had. Perfectly cooked, nice and crispy. The bun is super pillowy soft. The burger.... mealy, frozen patty tasting burger with rawhide posing as bacon on top - literally couldn't chew it. I suspect a microwave was involved somewhere in the preparation of my meal. Might try again in another 7 years.

i can not give anything other than a 5 due to the quality of food! anything and everything from the menu will be sure to please. cracked conch is highly recommend, but the parking, seating and decor is a bit complicated to even discuss. pricing is a little high but worth it the portions are large. they can do a whole lot better as far as wait staff, because their servers are always extremely rude my last order i requested smaller cut pieces of conch and of course the server couldn't be anymore condescending to my request that she did not accommodate. the food is so good i said ok and ordered her way anyway. do your self the favor of ordering to go and ignoring the staff detour so you dont just hang up and miss a wonderful tasty meal... fish shack, you guys have big enough clientele to relocate to a more appealing location with parking to match your pricing and food quality and you need a serious upgrade on your wait staff! read more

After years, I finally had the chance to revisit this gem. Let's talk about the star of the show: the cracked conch - a true revelation. Crispy, piping hot, and paired with a simple aioli sauce and a squeeze of lemon. Exactly as I remembered. For my main, I had the blackened grouper. The freshness of the fish truly shined through, and it was cooked well. It came with 2 sides which made it the perfect meal. Both where perfectly cooked with a great batter and flavoring ~ The entrees where deep fried Hog Snapper, Cracked Conch and Fish'n Chips. Enough to for all to sample a taste of each variety of fish. ~ We selected a variety of sides for all to try, extra crispy French fries, crunchy, creamy cole slaw and fluffy yellow rice seasoned to perfection. ~ Our ice cold beer mugs where always kept filled with fresh-from-the-tap Budweiser Light ($2.00/glass). The Fish Shack in Pompano Beach FL is the smallest and best eatery ever. It is very small,5 Tables and about 12 stools at the bar. What it is in size, it makes up for in the freshness and the quality of the seafood they serve. Alyssa, the owners sister, is usually right there to greet you and find you a seat if one is available. The variety on the menu is enough to satisfy any lover of great fish and shellfish. Being from Ct. in New England I am a lover of whole belly fried clams which are not avaiable in almost any place in South florida. The Fish Shack has them flown in every week. Visited the fish shack Wednesday night. Unpleasant experience considering I've been coming here for over 4 years. First off the restaurant was sold to someone who obviously is in it for the money. NOT A LOCALS SPOT ANYMORE! Food quality has gone down and prices have only gone up. I mean seriously an extra dollar for onion rings and 25c per sauce REALLY?? 6$ in up charges for unnecessary stuff. Also I was told I can't wait inside as I was waiting for my table.. never heard of a restaurant where you cannot wait inside. Overall a very bad experience.. sad to see this place going down the drain.. what can you say new owners got the best of it.. read more

This is a microscopic restaurant that gets full within minutes of opening. Therefore, after getting ones name on a list, one has to wait outside in the 85 degree Florida heat with nowhere to sit while waiting. We waited in our car about 25 minutes for a table until our names were called. Inside the small tables are so close together that one can almost bump elbows with the person sitting at the next table when eating. Our order was delicious and very inexpensive. One possible drawback is that you and your clothing will leave the restaurant smelling strongly of fried fish. We will return, but for takeout. read more

I was really looking forward to trying The Fish Shack in Lighthouse Point, but unfortunately it was disappointing. It lacked seasoning and flavor, and for the prices they charge, I expected much better. There was also an odd message written on the restroom wall that didn't feel appropriate. The only bright spot was our waitress -- she was friendly, and did her best to provide great service. I truly appreciate her effort, but overall the food just didn't live up to expectations. read more

Fish Shack is local staple in the community that we've frequented for years now. Thankfully they moved across the street to a bigger space because their old four-table location wasn't cutting it! All of us had the onion crusted grouper which was served with mashed potatoes and veggies. The fish was cooked perfectly. We started with the Tuna Sashimi Pizza. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Tuna Sashimi pizza but, let me assure you, it is absolutely amazing. The tuna sashimi was served on a thin, crispy crust. It was drizzled with wasabi sauce and sprinkled with caviar. It was a perfect portion for one person as a full meal or a great appetizer for sharing as well. The flavors and textures of this appetizer are perfect together. A MUST try! We also shared the Duck & Smoked Gouda Ravioli which comes as 2 or 4 raviolis. This dish came out a little cold so we asked for it to be warmed. The bar tender was professional in handling this. Taking our dishes and bringing them back hot. Also a very good dish. I liked how the sun-dried tomatoes were a little crispy. This is a richly flavorful dish with the duck and the Gouda. The bar area was a little warm. Maybe that was because we were sitting by the door. Next time I will request a table or sit closer to the kitchen but I do look forward to having the Tuna Sashimi Pizza again soon!

Everything we ate was cooked to perfection and delicious. In fact, I'm still thinking about how tender the A5 Wagyu Steak was. It literally melted in your mouth. It's a must try. This restaurant is also perfect for a date or special occasion. There's also ample parking in the parking lot on site. Flavor wise was ok not sure I liked the sauce they made the octopus. I'll give it an 8 and maybe try another one of their causas next time.
