The food was absolutely delicious. Never had so much flavor in fried food before. Didn't taste like oil one bit. Seafood was fresh. Cool place. Service was quick.

I love Serendipity! My wife and I were running chores yesterday in Vero and decided to have lunch out. We were discussing where to go (Tai?) and then I remembered reading good reviews about Fishack. So off we go. First off, parking was a breeze. We found a spot right out front. There is also a pay lot across the street ($5.00) and the restaurant reimburses you if you spend more than $25. That's a great deal. The restaurant has a great feel. Beachy colors. Airy. And the chairs are sturdy for us big dudes. Lots of flat screens on the wall for us sports fans. My wife immediately liked the feel of the place. The waitresses were both very friendly. And real friendly; not that "fake friendly." They have a nice outdoor patio, but we chose to eat inside. They have a lunch menu with lower prices. I started with the New England Clam Chowder. Very good. Plenty of clams and potatoes. The best I've had in a few years. My wife had the Mediterranean Mahi and I had the Shrimp and Grits. She liked her fish dish. The veggies were perfectly cooked. The Shrimp and Grits was very good. Cheesy Grits with sautéed spinach and perfectly cooked spicy blackened shrimp. The waitress did tell us that you can get the shrimp simply grilled without the blackening spices if you don't like things too spicy. It was at my perfect spice level. They have an NAB (Stella), but I opted for Pink Lemonade. The desserts looked good and I was planning on dessert, but I was too full. We will definitely be back! A well-deserved 5 Star review and I think this place gets my very first Hamelin Star. Not as prestigious as a Michelin Star but I expect soon restaurants will be coveting a Hamelin.

So good! All the fish is fresh and delicious. Our waitress was friendly and informative. Crabcake lunch special came with veggies and was fabulous. Ahi tuna tacos were so good. And the mahi blt wrap was excellent. Can't wait to come back!

1st time there. Cute, casual, neighborhood place, we enjoyed. Our server was nice, efficient and so helpful when asked abt her recommendations. I had the NE clam chowder, quite tasty and rich, also the app coconut shrimp, maybe a bit more coconut. Husb had the cod fish sandwich which he enjoyed, coleslaw yummy (I didn't get to taste) fries were good too, snagged a couple. Overall a very good experience. Oh I asked for Tabasco (I'm a Tabasco snob I just love it, a big no to others) they told me abt an in-house made hot sauce, what the heck I tried it...I bought some to bring home (I know, right) it's peppery, a touch of other things quite tasty, I think besides seafood would be great on chicken, ribs, probably anything. Will go back!

For me Fishack has the best Fish and Chips in town! Most other places have breaded fish and it always ends up being dry or too crumbly. Fishack fish in that beer batter makes for a crispy airy coating with a nice crunch, and the fish is always tasty and feels fresh. Always friendly staff and fast service. Plus their mango margaritas are delicious as well as the guava one they have. Definitely a must visit place for good food and laid back ambience.

We had a decent lunch with good service here. And we liked most of our meal with a few caveats. I had their conch chowder -- which was more full of pepper than spicy. The base was flavorful, but I couldn't taste any conch or any pieces of conch. Then I had their fried oyster appetizer. The oysters were wonderful. They tasted freshly shucked and were lightly floured and fried. My husband had their fish and chips. The fish was cod. I tasted his fish -- it was not very good; I did not care for the breading plus it tasted over fried, slightly burnt, and hard. The thin onion rings that he substituted (upgrade charge of $2.50) for the fries were good. We shared a slice of key lime pie for dessert. It was the right color and a pretty authentic version. I'd certainly return for their oysters or another of their baskets (maybe the shrimp?) and skip the chowder next time.

A lunch stop in a quaint part of town that is popular with the locals. I went with the fried fish (Cod), substituting the fries for their famous Angel Hair Onion. (You can order the Angel Hair Onion as a side for $2.50 - my "substitution" for the fries still netted a $2.50 upcharge.) The fried Cod strips was good, although the breading was a bit dark ( fry oil needs filtering?) The Angel Hair Onion rings were wonderful! Authentic Key Lime Pie for dessert was very good! Great friendly service by our server who was hustling for several tables and booths.

A nice find for me and my friend. Stumbled across this restaurant quite by accident. It seems as if it's a locals joint...looks old and worn--in a good way! The waitress Katie couldn't have been nicer--she steered us both to the shrimp/scallop combo basket. It was wonderful. Lightly breaded, tender and juicy seafood. The fries were really hot right out of the fryer. They have a pretty nice menu and food for the carnivores, too. I recommend it highly.

Another great find in Vero. It was a busy Saturday at Vero Beach the day before Easter. We wanted calamari for lunch and the places we attempted on the beach had long wAirs or were not pet friendly. We had to take my friends small poodle with us because she had been having seizures and could not be left alone. We located the Fishack thru Yelp and were so happy we found it! They had outdoor patio seating and Layla was welcomed. We were seated right away and our server was so sweet. Michelle ordered a Margarita which came in a very tall glass and a low price. She said it was wonderful. We got our calamari along with a very hight stack of angel hair onion rings. Both appetizers came with bam bam sauce which was delightful. The batter on the calamari and onions was so light and crispy. Fried Banana peppers were amongst the calamari and made a nice tart alternate taste in the dish. We wanted to try the lobster mac and cheese but didn't have any room left. I would definitely go back to this location and sample more of the wonderful menu.

This place has delicious food! The service was excellent even on a packed Friday during lent! They will reimburse you if you park across the street in the 5 dollar lot. We met the owner Mitch who was there expiditing food and helping! Fishermans basket was the best I ever had as far as fried oysters, scallops were huge, shrimp and fish. Fishermans stew was loaded with seafood. I am not sure about these people complaing about a 2.50 upcharge for onion rings it state it right on the menu! If you are upset about 2 dollars then go eat at McDonalds. Bloody mary was awesome, I cant say enough about the quality of the food. Awesome. Cool vibe and casual.

*INITIAL REVIEW*…read more Today, my family and I celebrated Mother's Day given the fact one of my sisters and I would be too busy to celebrate it on the actual day. Ergo, we made a trip down to Vero Beach and had fun at both McKee Botanical Gardens and the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA), both which got stellar reviews by me in the past. In between both locales, we were hungry and needed to eat someplace local. I had some suggestions, but my mom was in the mood for seafood. As a suggestion from reviews, The Crab Stop of Vero Beach was ultimately decided upon. I have to say, I am happy this restaurant was suggested because it is very good. Even though an address is provided, The Crab Spot of Vero Beach (which I will shorthand simply to Crab Spot for the remainder of this review) is located on the southside of the entryway into Royal Palm Place, one of the many extensions leading out into the water near US-1, but this one is known for the Royal Palm Park at the end. Initial display, decor, and ambiance has the stereotypical local dive bar look with elements showcasing they specialize in seafood, and the little bits of rustic flaws adds a bit of character for what they are. I would not expect such a look for a high-end restaurant, but this works for a local place on the river. The chairs squeeked, the table wobbled a bit in which the waitress fixed with some coasters, and the plates were chipped. No problem at all. There was even outdoor seating in the back bar-style which gives you a nice view of the canal that leads to the river. It was high sun, so we opted for the air conditioning. Now we move on to the food. I have to say that the majority of our food was really good, and when you adjusted to what you are eating, it was top-notch. Key word, however, is the "majority." The good: the hush puppies basket as you get 10 hush puppies that are lightly-seasoned with 1000 island sauce. If you eat one, it is probable you might think it is light on seasoning. However, they are small and finishing all 10 won't be a problem. The flavor builds with each hush puppy, which was smartly done compared to what most seafood places do: give you like two to five hush puppies of large size and high flavoring. The wings, however, used a hot sauce that was mostly vinegar. This ruined the wings for me, and if my stepdad ordered 20, he'd be eating the majority of them. Everything else was top-notch and delicious. Altogether, my family ordered the Fish and Chips, Mahi Sandwich, Fried Catfish Sandwich, Sea Scallop Snack Pack, and the Crab Cake Dinner. Details for each dish in the pictures. On a sidenote, the restroom was okay as in clean and stocked, but not the best-looking restroom I seen. Maybe the "character" could have not be extended to the restroom. Ultimately, I am giving Crab Stop four out of five stars. I do enjoy a good "mom n' pop" place as I prefer to support local and small, but since this is the only time I went, I can't justify a five-star rating until they prove to be consistent. I will be back as there is another park just south of this business that has geocaches that need to be found AND I may also try to hide a traditional letterbox here. But take note for a local seafood stop, this place is good to go.

Drove all the way to the restaurant to be told they are out of Crab, Clams, Mussels, oysters! Fried…read moreclam strips and fish were options. Eddy elevated our experience. Eddy, you are so incredible. KNOW that when you walk up. THANK you. The wife and I kept it simple. We split the oysters, the lobster bisque, and the 8 oz steak. All were INCREDIBLE. I eat oysters about 3% of the time my wife orders them, and I will say that I am glad to include theirs as part of my 3%. The bisque. Without boring you younger readers with Seinfeld-Lobster Bisque references, let me just say that it was amazing. I am a list person. A sports guy. I asked my wife, "where does this rank?" Reply? "I don't know, but definitely in the top three ever." I concur. The steak was cooked perfectly, and was an awesome presentation. We made a mistake by over-ordering on the desserts, but I don't fully regret it. I just like brownies. She got the key lime pie. If you are full, although the fudge brownie was awesome, do not pass Go, do not collect your $200, and just go directly to Key Lime Pie Jail. It was amazing.
