Besides Fishetarian, Fisherman's Cove is another casual seafood place I would recommend for lunch in Bodega Bay. Its located in a more remote section of the bay and usually has lines out the door on a weekend. Luckily, it moves fast and there's plenty of seating inside. One thing I did enjoy was that their menu is broader than Fishetarian's, since they include Po-Boys, Crab Sandwiches, and even a Chicken Sandwich. We ordered: 1. Fried Halibut and Chips (5 stars) - thick, hot and crispy. Excellent dish and surprising not super oily nor greasy. 2. Grilled Fish and Chips (4 starts) - this was a custom order, and it came out pretty good. Fishetarian's version is better IMHO but our 5-you son enjoyed this too, and he's usually not a big fish person. 3. I recommend sampling both the clam chowder and the Portuguese Fish Stew. 4. Grilled Cheese Sandwich is usually our backup option in case our son declines the main dishes, but we wound up eating most of it. He loved the Granny Smith apples though. This is my second time here and their fish tacos live rent free in my head. Last time I got them fried but this time I tried them grilled they're amazing both ways. They have the right amount of freshness, spice, citrus and the fish is always perfectly cooked. The best part of the tacos is the crema and I'm not a fan of sour cream. Perhaps a bit of cornmeal on them, to be extra crunchy on the outside, while light & fluffy on the inside. You stand in line, then take a seat inside or out. Both are great choices. Outside has no shade, just fyi. The Lady(maybe owner?) at the cash register leans over to look at screen to make sure you give a tip on their square pad. That was a bit of a turn off. Came here with my fam in a cold but sunny November weather. Typical weather in the Bay. Although it was cold, we sat outside and ate our seafood soup (truly chef's kiss), our lobster sandwich and a dozen oysters. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant has a great indoor sitting area, big enough to accommodate multiple groups. It's self-serve so you order from the cashier and wait for your food to be served. The best crab sandwhich I ever tried in my life. The worker was so kind and explained to me how the dunguness crab was locally sourced and you could really taste it in the crab sandwhich. Getting a dozen ($36 for 12, $19 for 6) is a must for us every visit. If raw isn't your thing, they also offer grilled oysters ($21 for 6) with a few flavor options. We don't usually order them, but when we do, the chorizo butter grilled oyster is our top pick. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but it's seafood, what do you expect? The quality backs up the price every time. If oysters aren't your thing, don't worry. Their menu is stacked with sandwiches, fried seafood, chowders, and stews. This time around we got the calamari and chips, and it was so good. Honestly, I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered here. Visited Fisherman's cove on a Saturday and it surprisingly was not busy! I think it was because the weekend we went bodega was super windy and chilly. So luckily, we did not have to wait in a long line. The person who took our order was super friendly and overall the staff was very kind. We ordered a dozen oysters, fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. The oysters were delicious and tasted very fresh. The clam chowder was also yummy and had a good serving of clams, it wasn't too thick too which was nice - perfect for the cold weather. The fish and chips though is where it was not too great, it lacked flavor and we had to use a lot of tartar sauce to eat it. The cleanliness could use improvement as the Tabasco and ketchup bottles were really dirty and did not seem like it was cleaned daily. Driving through town we decided we better eat. We were at a gas station and I yelped it. Thanks again to yelp it was a fantastic place. Indoor outdoor eating right across from the bay. I ate the fish and was really full so I gave my husband my fries he said they were good. My husband had a big Tri tip sandwich it had peppers and onions and multiple sauces on it. The meat was piled high! I tasted it and the meat was tender fall apart juicy. This place knows their sauces they were all so good! They have all kinds of wine, beer & Gelato. There was only one other set of people eating and they were talking about how good everything was especially the oysters. I've never had them and since we had 4 more hours to drive I played it safe. It's a cute little town it would be a great place to hang out on the patio . Over all I'm so glad we went backwards to find this place. Bonus it was a perfect day, light misty rain so we ate inside. They had the windows open. Beautiful view of the bay & boats. In the parking lot behind the building there were wild turkeys foraging up the hill. I'm a city girl so this gave me all the feels. I've eaten a fair amount of lobster rolls throughout my life, and one bite of this made me in shock. Probably the best lobster roll I've ever had. Looks can be deceiving as I thought the roll would be hard, but it was pillowy soft while still toaster. The lobster and mayo were immaculate, plenty for the roll and so flavorful & juicy. First time coming here. It was a Thursday and I decided to head to Bodega Bay. I ended up at Fisherman's Cove and got fish & chips and a small bowl of clam chowder. Both were served hot and tasty. I was glad they brought the soup first. It was piping hot but yummy. Customer service was great. You order, pay, they give you a number and you go and find a place to sit. There's seating inside and out. Keep in mind that there's a lot of bees buzzing around in the patio area. I found 1 where I was sitting (at the counter by the windows) I placed my empty chowder cup on top of it. (Don't worry I lifted the cup up as I left and let it free). They had a beer lager special and you had a choice if you wanted to keep the glass, I think that came out to $12. There's 1 unisex restroom. Parking can be a challenge. You can't park in the lot across the street at the marina unless you have a permit. I was lucky to find something on the street across from the restaurant. The popular Spud Point Crab Co is right next door, which also why parking is a challenge. It was busy for a random Thursday. I could only imagine what it's like on a Saturday. It was Valentine's Day so we decided to head out to Bodega Bay for some chowder and ocean views. When we realized where it was, it was really tough not to go to our favorite place next door, but wanted to give this place a try since it was highly recommended by a friend. You order at the counter, grab your number, and find a seat inside or out. They have several picnic tables outside. It was a windy day so we decided to sit inside by a window and it was nice and cozy. The tables were all full of happy diners. Our chowder arrived within a few minutes. They have two sizes and I was glad I ordered two larges. Their chowder has small bits of vegetables like carrots and celery and larger pieces of clams. It was delightful! Next came the 3-piece fish & chips. The fish was prepared perfectly, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The fries were hot and crispy, also cooked perfectly. The person taking my order was very friendly and outgoing. The whole place has a nice comfy vibe. I was impressed by their expanded menu. They offer crab sandwiches, lobster rolls, shrimp or oyster po boy, pulled pork or tri tip sandwiches and salads. They also serve prawns, calamari, oysters and several types of tacos. Popped in for lunch with family on a Saturday afternoon. As expected, it was busy but we were thankfully able to find parking in the small lot! Casual vibe, there was a line going almost out the door the whole time we were there but we didn't have to wait too long.
