I have a Takamine 12-string acoustic/electric and the bridge on it had split. I'd asked to get it…read morerepaired for my birthday and my mother had taken on the task. She had selected DH Guitar Repair to do the work due to their close proximity to her. She returned it to me a month later, starting her explanation with, "He didn't charge me for it." Strange. She continued, "When he was removing the bridge, it took some of the veneer off. He did his best to repair it. But he replaced the bridge, set it up and says it plays fine." I opened up the case and I could not believe what I saw. The repair to the damaged veneer was appalling. It was not refinished in any way. It was simply glued back on to the surface of the guitar. I figured this because there was still evidence of glue in multiple places on the face of the guitar that were never cleaned up. When the new bridge was glued to the body, it was attached slightly above where the old bridge had been because the edge of where the old bridge was seated is clearly visible by about 1/8". The old bridge had four mother-of-pearl inlays -- two on either side of the saddle and two on either side of the bridge pins. The new bridge did not have the inlays. Instead, it was covered with scratches, which I can only assume came from sanding away at the glue after the bridge was seated. Not knowing if it was actually necessary, the pick-up had been replaced, evidenced by an excessive amount of cabling gathered up in the body of the guitar. I removed the guitar from the case and picked it up, only to hear a substantial amount of dirt or debris shifting around inside the body whenever I tipped it back and forth. I understand that unexpected things can happen in the course of any repair. What is inexcusable in this case is the sloppy, careless work that was done in an effort to repair the damage. Based upon what I've seen, I cannot dismiss the possibility that the same carelessness may have led to the damage in the first place. I fail to understand how an apparent professional could find this work remotely acceptable. When you send anything in for repair, at a bare minimum, there is an expectation that it will be returned in at least as good a condition as when it was sent in. I am stunned and sickened by what has been done to this guitar. I only hope that I can find another luthier capable of repairing the damage caused by this one.

He then suggested that, before buying a new dryer, we first get the dryer vent cleaned. He also suggested a reputable company for the vent cleaning. After the cleaning, everything is working fine. I was givin a partial reimbursement, but ended up paying a dispatch charge of about $125.00. since nothing was accomplished, my feeling is I shouldn't have been charged anything. I purchased a washer on 7-28-25 at the Colonial Heights store. I was told by the salesman that the…read morewasher could be delivered to my house the following Monday 8-4-25 for an additional $169.00 or I can be picked up on Friday 8-1-25 from the store. I chose to pick it up on the 1st because I needed a washer Immediately. The salesman said they would call me when it came in. Friday came and I never heard anything so I called the store at 2pm and spoke to the salesman again and he said the washer would not be here until Monday the 4th. I expressed my dissatisfaction with my service because I had scheduled help to get the washer into the house on Friday and I had no way of getting the washer in the house on Monday. Again, I was told I could pick the washer up on Friday. The salesman said there must be a misunderstanding. I asked to have a discount on the washer because of the inconvenience and the salesman said he gave me the sale price. The salesman then told me he could give me my money back as a resolution to the problem. I then asked to speak to a manager and the salesman said he would be here on Saturday. I called on Saturday and spoke with a manager and explained the situation again. I asked the manager if they could waive the delivery fee since I had no one to help get the washer in the house and he said he would do it for $129.00. I then said if you could bring the price down to $100.00 I would except that. The manager said he could not do that. I told the manager that I have bought appliances from them before and bought numerous appliance parts but obviously my words fell on deaf ears. I then told him to cancel the order and I would call him back on Monday to give him my credit card information to credit my account. I called on Monday and spoke with the salesman again and gave him my information to return my money. He said he would take care of it. I checked my bank account on Thursday and the money still had not been returned. I called the store again and the salesman said my account was credited on Monday and it may take 2 to 3 days for the money to clear. He said if you don't see the money in your account by Friday to give us a call. I finally got a receipt for the transaction on my phone Friday afternoon. I then called my bank to verify the transaction and they told me that the transaction was actually done on Friday and not on Monday like the salesman said. I know the customer is not always right every time but when you are told that your money has been returned and it hasn't, you can pick your washer up on Friday and you can't. Then you are told you must have misunderstood what was said. If they are willing to lie about when your money has been returned to your account would they also lie about when the washer was supposed to come in? Integrity is everything!!!! I have done business with The Appliance Place for years and I have bought a Refrigerator, Dishwasher and numerous appliance parts from them with no problems. My family has also done business with The Appliance Place before but after this experience neither my family or I will give The Appliance Place our business or recommendations any more.
