Our server was so kind and truly gave us some of the best service. We stayed until basically midnight. We have been coming here for over 20years and always make holiday reservations. This year's Thanksgiving Dinner: 1st we sat in a conner which was dark. This was due to half the lights were out in that Conner. 2nd They did not bring bread right away only to find out later that they ran out and had to get more - tasted like they ran to the grocery store and bought cheap baguette bread. 3rd got a shrimp cocktail and it looked like the cocktail spice had been watered down as it ran off the shrimp like water. Requested new cocktail sauce (Which corrected the problem). 4th we had the condo plate which was Turkey and Prime Rib. The prime rib was hot but the turkey was cold. 5th had to search out waiter to get more water. Also asked for more turkey gravy which never came. While the ambiance was good as expected and the waiter was pleasant the food set the experience which was poor. While we have reservations for Christmas Eve we are not sure we will keep them. read more

We were seated at a round table next to the fireplace which was the perfect spot for our celebration of my grandma's birthday. They also have a semi private table that's a little bit tucked away which you could probably request for a medium sized group. Staff is very attentive and professional. They are known for the Lawry's prime rib, served with yorkshire pudding and your choice of 2 sides between creamed corn, creamed (or sautéed) spinach and mashed potatoes. I have been to Lawry's and I have to say that I was a tad disappointed here. The creamed spinach tasted burnt and my prime rib felt fattier than usual. The real star of the show for me was the fresh rolls with butter and maldon salt that they bring you to start. I could almost make a meal of just that! We finished our meal with a complimentary slice of strawberry and cream cake with a candle for the birthday and overall we had a lovely time. read more

If you are the big fan of prime ribs so it's a must-go restaurant . We had Crown cut with seasonal applewood smoked, they only have the smoked version until end of April. The applewood smoked really brings the rib into next level of yummyness . the cut was served with two sides of choice, Yorkshire pudding , and creamy horseradish . I really like their creamed corn , highly recommend the side dish. One other plus, they served hot gravy on the side, that contained all the goodness of flavor. My husband made reservations for us to celebrate Valentine and our anniversary early. I had been craving prime rib for awhile now and we are big fan of Lawry. We had been wanting to try this place for quite some time now so I was really excited. We were running a little late and we gave them a call for a heads up and they were really nice about it. We arrived 30 minutes late but they were able to take us in right away on that busy weekend night. For starters, they gave us yummy complementary sourdough bread with whipped butter. It was warm and delicious. We also ordered their crab cake as a starter. The crab cake came with an apple salad. It was delicious. The crab cake had lots of yummy meat in it. The order was only one small crab cake and we we gobbled it up. For dinner, I got their medium rare California cut prime rib. You get a choose between creamed corn, creamed spinach or mashed potatoes. I got their creamed corn and creamed spinach. The prime rib was came with au jus, yorkshire pudding, and whipped horseradish. The actual prime rib was underwhelming. It was cooked right but lacked flavor. I also wish the plate was warm because it got cold really quick. The creamed spinach was very creamy at all. The flavor was nice though. I did like the creamed corn. It was sweet and done perfectly. The yorkshire was very small. They also barely gave us any whipped horseradish for two people. My husband got the Crown Cut which was a much larger order but with creamed spinach and mashed potato. He thought it was also okay. We ended the night by them giving us their strawberry vanilla cake. It was really nice of our waitress. I liked that it had real strawberries but the red sauce tasted artificial and the entire thing was too sweet. It was a nice gesture though. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food came out pretty quick. After we finished it took while for our waitress to give us our check. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. They have a cozy bar with a fire place and an outdoor bar. While we had dinner there was a wedding going on outside in their patio area. It looked beautiful. The area where we sat was also nice and felt cozy. Parking is easy with valet parking. Not sure if we would be back. Maybe because it's closer but we much prefer Lawry's or Summit House for prime rib. read more

I came here for the first time last week for OC Restaurant Week. They were offering an $85 pre fixe menu which came with a glass of wine, starter, main course and dessert. I went with the prime rib for my main course. If you didn't know, Five Crowns, is part of the Lawry family - so if you live in OC, you don't need to drive all the way to LA to get your prime rib fix. The prime rib was delicious. I ordered mine with a side of mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. However, I tried some of the cream corn and it was soooo good!! While I love Lawry's prime rib and all things associated, they are all (Lawry's, Five Crowns and Tam o Shanter) hit and miss when it comes to a few things. Service is the biggest issue and opportunity for me. At Five Crowns, they definitely are a little more laid back and don't ask if you have been there before like at Lawry's, and front of house is much more welcoming, but I miss the carts! Otherwise, the menu is very much the same except for a few key items like the spinning salad! Lawry's taught me to like beets! Anyway, the difference here is service for sure. Love how everyone greets you from beginning to end, not always the case at Beverly Hills :). While the service was great, only one name comes to mind and he was the last person I interacted with. Lester at the bar was fantastic! Not cause I was drunk of got a great drink, but he was attentive, engaging and also happened to hear me from a distance talking to the manager who seemed confused and dismissive. I brushed it off as another Lawry's type service miss, but Lester quickly stepped in and made a non issue/pass through a great experience!!! Love that and the little things that make eating out that much more fun! I plan to be back just for him, because eating out should be fun. My gf and I had date night here. Had drinks and starters. She got the prime rib. I ordered my usual filet. I asked for medium. It came out well done. They had no problem taking it back and making me a new one. But I guess it wasn't a priority because they took too long to re make my filet. My gf who is a slow eater finished her meal and we were just twiddling our thumbs waiting on my medium filet. It eventually came out. It was cooked fine but just too long and ruined date night. Their hamachi and grilled octopus was great as well. My fiancé went with their prime rib (pretty delicious and soft) while I went with their wagyu sirloin (nothing to write home about, but the fries were good). It is perfectly cooked and super tender. It took an hour for our entrees to be out, but understandable since it's a packed graduation night. I was extremely excited to try Five Crowns when I was visiting friends that live in the area Service and Ambiance: You get that British old school steakhouse kind of vibe complete with dark wood furnishings throughout and fireplaces. We had some cocktails at the nice full service bar prior to seating. The service at the bar was friendly and the servers that took care of us through dinner were attentive and friendly. The kitchen was quick with getting our dishes to the table. I'm a big Prime Rib fan the Crown Cut (medium rare) was amazing. Juicy and cooked perfectly. This was definitely my current Prime Rib champ for 2022. All the sides we had were on point! Crab Cakes - great way to kick off your meal Calamari - Crispy and tasty Salad - Fresh Creamed Corn - My favorite side dish with prime rib. lovely here. If you're craving prime rib and you're in the OC, this is the spot for it. Definitely a lot closer than driving all the way to Lawry's in LA! (And it's the same thing, isn't it?) You can either park in their lot with a valet, or park on the street. The several times I've been here, I've been able to find parking on the street with no problem. All the times I've been here I had the prime rib, and my dining companions had the fish dishes. Do NOT get the fish dishes! They are decent tasting, but Five Crowns is more well known for their prime rib. The cuts are pretty large and the au jus is super flavorful. The souffle dessert is amazing and recommended! The staff here is extremely helpful and the service is surprisingly fast. The prices themselves are decent - especially compared to the other restaurants in the lawrys portfolio though they don't serve the beef bowl cut regularly. Decided to try this English steakhouse on a Friday evening. Made a reservation online the same day and got seated shortly after arriving. What stood out immediately was the vibe and ambiance. It felt like walking into a English castle and pub. The restaurant is a majority of the space but they have a nice bar area called the Side Door and it was very lively all night. Parking can be found if you look hard enough in the residential area or Main Street. Otherwise there's valet across the restaurant. Service was superb and all the hosts/waiters were extremely welcoming, attentive, and helpful. Definitely gives you the fine dining experience. Food was good, no complaints but I can't say I was mine blown. We ordered the English Cut and Henry VIII. The Henry was as thick and big as expected at 28 oz!
