Five Guys is just an overall great burger, and there's plenty of news clippings hung around the joint to prove it. Of course, everyone's going to get into the conversation of Five Guys vs. In-N-Out. It's kind of like comparing apples and oranges to me. Five Guys is bigger and has plenty of toppings. In-N-Out is super fresh and they have that special sauce. It really depends what you're looking for on any particular day. You should really try it yourself to see what you think, but I'll share a few tips: * Their regular burgers have two (!) patties. The little burgers have one. * Ordering with everything comes with a standard set of toppings. Or you can get crazy with it. * The fries come in Five Guys Style (regular) or Cajun. Still clean! uhh.......i'm not that impressed with the burgers here. they were like ones you can make at home with little prep work and little condiments. please...the fries were alright. kind of too soggy for my taste. the hot dog tasted like any other. they do have large portions...that's all i can really compliment on.....i'm done. read more

It was eh! Don't get what all the hype is about. The burger was good, but nothing extraordinary. I wasn't impressed with the fries either. As a french fry lover, I had expected more. The fries were too soggy and salty for my taste. I think I could cook my own fries better. When I went, it wasn't that busy. The line went by super fast. The lady at the cashier was nice and friendly. What was a turn off were some of the employees that were loungin around the restaurant during their break time. They were sitting at the tables and some were putting their feet on the chairs as they watched us eat. I noticed one employee had really dingy looking shoes and didn't care that he was placing his feet on one of the chairs. I guess he felt comfortable as if he was at home. It made me imagine what more he would do if he was in the kitchen prepping the patties. Being that it's a new establishment, it's expected that employees be more professional especially during a grand opening. We went at night and it looked like the place needed some sweeping and cleaning. In my opinion, I think In N' Out is still better. read more

Let me preface this review by stating that I am an In-n-Out guy (double-double animal style with extra toast is possibly the best commercial burger available), but my last two burger check-ins have been at Five Guys. First of all, the fries here are better than In-n-Out's and they give you a lot--the workers will fill a cup overflowing with fries, place it in your bag, and then scoop up another ENTIRE CONTAINER of fries and toss them into the bag in hopes of smothering any chance of keeping your meal under 1,000 Calories. I still like the burgers at In-n-Out more but Five Guys is a decent option when you want something more substantial. Take care when ordering, however. Their "regular" hamburgers are actually massive double-patty monstrosities, so go with the "little" size if you just want a normal-sized burger that has a good beef to bun balance. You also get to choose any toppings for no additional charge--just be ready to deal with a soggy bun and getting stuff everywhere when you're eating. The best way to describe Five Guys would be satisfactory food in overwhelming amounts. The burger itself lacks flavor. Fries tasted like cardboard. The foil makes the bun soggy. The different sauces and toppings are all fine and dandy but a truly good burger joint can make the classic good regardless of all the bells and whistles. Oooo free peanuts...who freakin' cares?!? It's different. They really pride themselves on the reviews they have received. Personally In-and-Out is way better, plus they have milkshakes. I got a bacon burger.. with everything plus BBQ Sauce. It was good, I can't lie. Mushrooms give it a nice touch. I'd have to say it is 2-3X greasier than In-and-Out, fries were obviously cooked in used oil.. as it was super dark for a small piece of fried potato. It was salty all together.. not sure how they have raving reviews. Prices are higher, and food isn't as fresh. They serve other small items like peanuts.. but uh- that threw me off kind of. This place kind of took me by surprise because I had Five Guys pinned as an east-coast fixture, but whatever. It's pretty much the same as what I remember from when I lived in DC. I don't really know what I can compare it to except for maybe In-N-Out but even that's stretching it. Ah, I know. A chain version of Bob's Giant Burgers for those of you living in Fremont. You can expect to spend about $10 for a bacon double cheeseburger and small fries which are plenty huge despite the name. I prefer the Cajun fries but that's not saying much as I'm not a fan of soggy, thick-cut fries. I came here on opening day and the employees looked enthusiastic and didn't notice any major hiccups in the service, so I give them credit for that. Anyway, to put it simply, for me, this is one of those places I'm not going to seek out on my own. About the only reason you'll see me here is if I'm with a friend who is curious what the hype is about. So there is all the buzz out there about how Five Guys took over In-n-Out on Zagat. So i figure to throw in my $0.02. Lets get straight to it: Burger: the best thing about Five Guys is that you can basically build you own burger without additional cost. They have basics add-ons like lettuce, tomatos, ketchup etc, and also more non-traditionals like mushroom, mayo, jalapaenos, grilled/non-grilled onions etc. The size seems a little bigger than In-N-Out. Fries: The have the larger unpeeled potato fries which can be better than the in-n-out fries, really kinda depends on your preference. Go ahead and order the regular fries, they give you more than plenty to share between 2 people. Ultimately, I still think In-N-Out is better. Base on the juicyness of the burger and the in-n-out thousand island-like sauce. I personally also like the fries at in-n-out better, but again I think that's really personal preference. Five Guys did a good job putting on some heat tho, I'd choose this over the McD's and Burger King any day. And what they lacked to in-n-out, they made it up with their options and portions. The buns were cold (oh, no!), we immediately lost appetite after first bite. The fries were big but didn't have much flavor. You like choices? Then you'll like Five guys. Picture a fast food version of The Counter, except less gourmet. Their choices in toppings ranging from lettuce and tomatoes to grilled onions and BBQ sauce makes it hard to settle on at least 2 things. The burgers looked like they were on steroids. But no, no. Special juice not included. By that I mean they seemed bigger, maybe larger than life. It was kinda like, tame the burger, don't let it tame you. Oh and take note, burgers are TWO patties. little burgers are ONE patty. My sister dined with me and almost got p'wned by a regular burger. My burger had the usual lettuce, tomatoes and whatnot but I also added grilled onions, BBQ sauce and peppers. Nice fusion of conventional burger flavors with a twist of southwestern style goodies. It was awesome. Legendary, almost. Eating this burger was so wrong but felt so right! I hear they cook with peanut oil, which is a plus. So I guess it wasn't all that wrong. Right? I must have been out of my mind to do it but I also ordered a bacon dog. WHAT WAS I THINKING? Perhaps it was the temptation to prove how legit Five Guys was or maybe I was just THAT hungry...either way I had to do it. I added only relish and ketchup to my order. And by golly, it was legit. They slice the dog in half but it still retains it's juices. Kinda plump and had a slight pop to every bite. Adding bacon was a regrettable decision. Two wrongs can't make a right. Fries are also a good choice. Not too greasy to create transparent paper bags. It was a little salty for my taste. But like Robin to Batman, these fries were solid enough to say it's a fine sidekick. Five Guys passes my test. Places like these put other burger joints to shame. But eating here also makes me want to eat 3x healthier. Talk about a diet buster. I'm still coming back. I'd been watching the hoopla build month after month. I was oohed and aahed by the reviews on the wall. Would I emerge from the rabbit hole to find my world of burgers shattered and redefined? Read on to find out. I loaded my bacon cheeseburger with mayo, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño, and grilled mushrooms and onions. I tried to order my patty medium rare, but I was told the only way I could get it done was well done, though I was assured with a smile it'd be juicy. I had no choice but to wait and see. I would've expected more tables in a space that big, but fortunately we didn't have a problem finding a seat. It's big and airy, and even with the open kitchen there's no worrying about leaving the place smelling like burger. Finally our number was called. I ripped open the bag, undid the foil, and was greeted by a wicked mass of sin waiting to corrupt me - two patties held together with melted cheese, a couple crispy strips of bacon, and a layer of mushrooms and onions, all resting on an insidious layer of peppers. Score one for eye candy. I grabbed hold, took a bite, and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Unfortunately the well done patty relegated this poor burger to fast food land, because the beefiness that shouts burger nirvana was barely a whisper. And no, it obviously wasn't as juicy as a medium rare patty. The mushrooms were on the bland side, tasting more steamed than grilled. And the onions lacked the sweet decadence you get from slow cooking - these were cooked just long enough to take the bite out. Limp lettuce and underwhelming tomato rounded out the culinary experience. At least the toppings were free. On the bright side, the cajun fries were fabulous, albeit on the salty side. Thick, delightfully fluffy on the inside, and they actually tasted like potatoes - I'd come back just for the fries. A large order would feed an average family (or one massive man). And eventually we found the free peanuts, located oddly by the garbage can. Sadly, Five Guys didn't blow my world. Maybe the east coast reviewers don't know what fresh looks like, or maybe they're suckers for glitz and glam, but I doubt they've experienced the likes of In N Out, Val's, or St. John's. Five Guys is another blip in the franchise landscape of Fremont, and while it's better than your average fast food fare, it lacks the substance to crack the upper echelon of burger dining in the bay area. Four stars for their cheese burger. (I love their toppings that are FREE). But, 3 for over all. It was VERY pricy compared to In-N-Out. 6.50ish for the sandwich alone. I ordered the "MUST HAVE CAJUN FRIES" and they were disgusting. The fries taste like if you went to your Grandmother's kitchen and went in to spice cabniet and dumped all of them together and dumped greasy fries on them. Seriously, it made me gag. Five Guys Burgers appears to be a throwback to the '50's diner offering burgers and dogs plus it's clean red and white appearance. After doing the Alameda parade scene my partner in crime had to take a jaunt to Fremont. I was told about this hamburger place and figured this would be a good time to check it out. It is in close proximity to In and Out off Auto Mall Parkway and that appears to be it's major competition for the area. On the wall are newspaper articles boasting how great these burgers, hot dogs and fries are. Ordered the hamburger ($4.99) and split an order of fries since I heard it was a large portion. The burger has two juicy flavorful patties and wrapped in aluminum foil. A nice soft bun, soft when you bite into it. There are free toppings available such as grilled onions and mushrooms. Remember the price $4.99. One order of fries ($2.59) big mohunka slices of potatoes will definitely satisfy your craving for french fries. These fries are that good. They offered malt vinegar for the fish & chips flavor. Yumms. Since I work close by...if the craving is there, I'm heading to Five Guys. read more

Pretty pricey for a burger if you ask me. I thought the prices listed on the menu was for an entire meal rather these are prices for just one burger. I guess it makes sense since you are virtually paying for all the toppings that you might or might not want on your burger since they allow you to choose as many additional toppings in red as you'd like. Toppings in black are standard. It wasn't a big deal for me that no matter if you are taking your meal "for here" or "to go", you get it in a brown paper bag. However the fries come in a cup and of course in this bag it'll tip over causing all the fries to spill out and the bottom of the bag was big greasy mess and I'm sure I wouldn't like having all that grease sit somewhere in my car had I taken the bag of food home. Why not do what In-N-Out does and have it in a flat container of fries so that it cannot tip over when taking to go? Another issue I have with them is the preparation of the burgers. When I opened the wrapping of my burger (my veggie burger), I notice it is prepared VERY sloppily. The pickles were falling out as well as the tomatoes and onions. It was just a BIG mess. Not to mention my hubs wanted A-1 sauce and didn't get it. Amongst all the gripes I have about FG (and this is my first and only experience with them) the biggest one of them all was that the burger was driiiiippppy beyond belief. It kept dripping and dripping down my arm. All bad... Despite all said annoyance with Five Guys the only thing saving them is that I thought the food was pretty tasty. In-n-out? Old news, it's all about Five Guys! I heard about this place and all the buzz and decided to run on over and try out to see what the fuss is about and man, all I can say is wow! Great soft buns, tasty meat and all the toppings you want from their menu including mushrooms and A1 sauce. After I inhaled my cheeseburger and amazing Cajun fries I was already thinking about the next time coming back here. The place is brand spanking new and while waiting in line, you can grub on free peanuts. Sounds funny but true because there are boxes of shelled peanuts right there in front and it's unlimited! My only gripe is that it's a little pricey as you should expect to pay about 8-9 bux for a whole meal but one thing is for sure is that you won't leave hungry. All of a sudden, I just keep hearing about 5 Guys' Burgers. Almost overnight. A coworker was going so I decided to tag along. The Pros: Pretty simple menu: You can order a 2 patty burger plain, with cheese, or with cheese and bacon. There is also an option for just 1 patty "little burger". You can add any of their options at no extra cost! (grilled onions, jalapenos, a1 sauce, bbq sauce, etc, etc) They have boxes of free peanuts to snack on while you wait. They have regular fries as well as cajun fries. Cons: The burgers weren't THAT juicy. I think In-n-Out burgers are tastier The cheese wasn't even melted when I unwrapped my burger. They do not have ranch. Seriously, what restaurant doesn't have ranch? Deal breaker. The burger patty itself was pretty good. When ordering, I asked the difference between the little burger and the regular, and was told that the little burger has one patty and the regular has two. Why wouldn't they advertise this? Calling it a "Little Burger" sounds like it's for children, but it was just enough for me. My boyfriend and I shared a small order of regular fries, which was more than enough. They fries were mediocre and even tasted kind of sweet and undercooked. They package all orders as if they are to go. Wrapped up in a brown paper bag with the fries spilled all in the bottom of the bag. Annoying (and a waste of paper.) Lots of people are raving over the fact that you can pick your own toppings...please note that this is the norm at most restaurant-style burger joints. The bun, was...SOGGY. FLAT. LIFELESS. The place was FREEZING. Seriously cold. Arctic, even. For the price, I'd definitely prefer Fuddruckers over Five Guys. If I were in the area and wanted a burger, I'd def. opt for In-N-Out. Disclaimer: I'm from the DC area. I ate at the very first Five Guys in Arlington back when I was in middle school. I spent the first 22 years of my life on the East coast. And I loved it. Double Disclaimer: I now live within a 5 minutes' walk from In-N-Out. The first meal I had when I moved to California was an animal-style Double-Double with chiles (thanks to my friends' advice), extra crispy fries, and a neapolitan shake. I will love In-N-Out until the day I die. I once ate lunch, then dinner, then lunch the next day there. I also loved it. In-N-Out wins on most of the technical marks -- toastiness of the bun, crispness of the lettuce, evenness of the spread, consistency of the flavor with burger after burger after burger. But, for sheer satisfaction -- like, Bruce Bogtrotter-level satisfaction, when you're hungry for a real-deal cheeseburger, and as you're eating it you get fuller and happier and fuller and happier -- for a juicy, greasy, complex-ly flavored burger, where the meat patty itself is the most noticeable and most remarkable part, you HAVE to try Five Guys. You need to get grilled mushrooms and onions. You need to alternate every bite of burger with 2 bites of cajun fries (ask for extra seasoning). And, specifically, you need to top your burger with items off with the so-called "Red Menu," whether it's jalapenos or A1 or hot sauce. I love In&Out, and had mentioned Five Guys as a possible competitor to my wife. Well, being a foodie herself, she surprised me by taking me to the Fremont location today. Very first impression as we walked toward the establishment - were they trying to rip off In&Out's decor? Even down to the employee outfits. The nerve! Well, decor rip off or not, we're here for the food, so I'll let that slide. Next observation - the wait for ordering is LONG. I guess with all their different choices, especially for toppings, people sit there staring at the menu while they order. OK, maybe the wait wasn't THAT long - it was maybe 4 minutes wait while we were next in line, as opposed to maybe 30 seconds to 1 minute for other places. Being the considerate fellow that I am, I felt the pressure of ordering quickly, and rattled off my topping choices quickly.. which resulted in the cashier having to ask me to repeat my choices. Oops. But all that is forgivable... because I'm here for the food. I'd heard raves about the fries, so we got two orders of fries - one cajun, one Five Guys style. And based on the fries alone, I would give this place 1 star. I just didn't get the hype. Flavor was bland on the Five Guys style, and a little too strong on one spice with the cajun. My wife and I looked at each other after the first bite of fries, and right away said, "Over-rated. In&Out is better." And we weren't there just to bash Five Guys - I wanted to like it! The burger - the menu is confusing. I thought the mini burgers were for kids, so we both ordered the regular burger. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came with two patties - my wife was a bit overwhelmed, and gave me her second patty. Score! The burger itself - it was pretty good, but not the best I've had. The patties were juicy, per the claims posted all over the restaurant (although my wife's patties were drier than mine), and having the assortment of toppings made it fun to eat, but it got messy pretty quick, especially with the third bonus patty. And in the end - I felt that the Five Guys burger didn't really have its own distinct flavor, but maybe this is on purpose, so each person can create a burger to his or her liking. But as for me and my household, we will prefer In&Out burgers for their distinct (and consistent) taste and lower prices. Oh, the peanuts were placed on top of the trash bin (I think?). I'm giving this place 5 stars simply because I don't think the neighboring In 'N Out should have higher yelp markings. I'm not a huge In 'N Out fan, and I LOVED LOVED LOVED 5 guys. I don't hate In 'N Out, I just never really crave it and find the burgers pretty bland.... I do like their fries though. So I think if you're an avid In 'N Out fan, then you probably won't feel the same about 5 guys. But for reals, 5 guys burgers & fries are NO JOKE. I had the little cheeseburger w/ everything and tried both their cajun & regular fries. I loved everything about that tasty burger & was sadly unsuccessful at convincing my husband to drive us back for a 2nd round an hour after we left. I'm being completely serious when I say that I am sitting here at my home in Mountain View wishing I could drive back for a 2nd burger. p.s. This place is WAYYY over hyped! But if you look past all the hype, this place is pretty ok. Everything there is pretty mediocre, you walk out full and satisfied. And dude, FREE peanuts for everyone! If you get fries, just get a regular, it can feed three people. Grilled mushrooms and onions on a burger is the way to go. They have a huge sign that says, "we cook all our burgers well done juicy." To start off, the food here is mediocre at best. The frys are good, I had the Cajun fries and they were good. The drinks were good as well... Now for the BAD! I ordered my food and the cashier gave me number 88. I got my food and took it to the car where my family was waiting. BOTH my burgers were wrong so I went back to get it fixed. As i walked into the building, and to the person handing food out, I explained both burgers were wrong. He then accused me of taking the wrong order. I showed him my receipt and he said " oh there must have been two number 88's" When the manger asked to get the cooks to recook my food, he got upset and mad. after I got my burgers I still did not have the bacon on my burger. I was craving In-N-Out, but my boyfriend told me I needed to try some place new and took me to Five Guys down the street instead. I ordered the Small Bacon Cheeseburger with Mayo, A1 Steak Sauce, Mushrooms, and Lettuce and a small order of the Cajun Fries. Overall my burger was decent but nothing comparable to an In-N-Out Cheeseburger! I liked that the burger came with a bunch of free toppings, especially the Mushrooms, which is a plus! My Cajun Fries were a bit too salty and I found myself drinking a lot of water to get rid of the taste. Also, our food took a really long time to come out. I would understand if this place was really crowded, but we were the only ones in line and still had to wait a while for our food to be ready. At least I finally gave this place a try? read more

In these days of burger joints being everywhere, Five Guys is at the top of the list. They don't have any specialty burgers or gourmet burgers, just that plain old hamburger or cheeseburger (option to make a double or add bacon). They give you tons of fix-ins to choose from to add to your plentifully patty from hot sauce, to jalapenos, to grilled onions, etc. This is not your average burger joint either. This is top notch food served quickly with quality. Five Guys blows away McDonald's, Burger King, Carl's Jr., Wendy's, Jack 'n the Box, or any other piss ant burger joint chain. They're not stingy with what they have either. If you ask for jalapenos on your burger, you're getting some fresh sliced wonders and not that caned pickled crap. If you want bacon, they're not microwaving that mess, they get fried until they are crispy flavorful strips. If you go with the grilled onions, they grill them sh-ts on the spot and not have them sitting around already pre-grilled. Five Guys knows how to make a great juicy American burger without any flaws. Now on to the fries... Beautiful! They give you a cup overflowing with fresh crispy golden fries. The cup overflows so much that they have to put them in a paper bag so they don't fall all over the place. The Cajun fries are the way to go for sure! No one can mess with their Cajun spice! Well maybe not as bad as McDonald's. Walking into Five Guys is like walking into the bizarro version of In-N-Out. They have similar red and white tiling, red and white uniforms, and somewhat throwback posters; however, In-N-Out feels much more authentic and clean. I imagine Five Guys to be run by hairy mechanics and overweight chubs named Vinnie, Tony, Louis, Castello, and Rick. Rick would be the one with the ponytail. The menu is somewhat confusing. They have one side with your typical hamburgers and cheeseburgers, then another with "little" in front of everything. I guess I'm used to Burger King calling smaller things "Jr.". I heard people talking about how their toppings are so great. I had taken this as a burger joint with a DiY topping bar like Fuddruckers. Instead you tell them what you want and they put it on any way they please. All of the toppings and dressings are your typical fair found on your typical American picnic table. Even if you manage to put all the toppings on a burger it'd still look and taste normal. I got a bacon cheeseburger with fries. I added some toppings but didn't want to flood the thing. The food comes out pretty fast. I was surprised that they wrap the burgers in a foil. It makes it looks super tacky like at some hole in the wall fast food joint. Only burritos should be wrapped in foil. The brown bag doesn't help either. It looks like something a 1950's construction worker would haul to work. Since the bag is brown it can't conceal the horrible grease stains that soak invisible dots. The burger is okay. It's a burger so on some level it is satisfying. The burger will remind you of the enormous calorie and fat content when it coats you entire mouth in a film of fat and grease. The meat is juicy and doesn't taste processed but it could be for all I know. The bun tastes very similar to Burger King. I'm not huge fan of it. The toppings are indistinguishable. I asked for mushrooms, onions, mustard, tomato, and lettuce but I could barely taste any of it. They skimp out of the bacon too. For shame. And the menu should have told me that a regular burger comes with two patties. The fries are just okay. They're thick cut with a very slight bite on the outside and an almost baked potato soft inside. I'm not a fan of these fries. They do however give you a bucket sized portion. If you go with friends, share. One order is probably good enough for two or three people. If not you can have their complimentary peanuts. The peanuts are bizarre. Why would I want extra protein? I'm getting a friggin' cheeseburger and fries! And it's not like I'm waiting that long for the food, this is a fast food restaurant is it not? _____ Eating at Five Guys felt like a shameful experience. You walk in, mostly everyone is overweight including the staff. They have a calorie counter next to each menu option. The cheeseburger leaves a horrid feel in your mouth. I can understand why the low/average ratings for this place. I think people have too high of an expectation...at least that was the case for me. The burgers were quite honestly, nothing special, nothing that stood out and made me say "WOW, this is a damn good burger." It's average. I do like how it's very customizable with the toppings. But other than that, the burgers are not worth the hype. The fries are also mediocre. It lacks texture, which is what makes fries so delicious to eat. Yes, you do get free peanuts. But who the hell cares about peanuts. Now if it were cashews or pistachios, then that's a different story. FYI, little means one pattie and regular is two patties. So this is the finest fast food burger that the East Coast can offer. I decided to jump on the wagon and give this place a spin. Me and a friend decided to stop by during the lunch rush and found an interesting maze leading up to the cash register. I was pretty surprised that they had like 25 people back there grilling things. We got their burgers and cajun fries. Came out to be 10 bucks (the heck, I can get a pretty bomb burger at Red Robins for 10). Alright, we got our food 5 min later and we dug in. Burgers are decent, but the buns aren't toasted (I guess people like them that way?). Lots of extra stuff like shrooms and sauces. Meat pattie was ok, but slightly overcooked. Large portions of fries but they were soggy. And by soggy, I mean really soggy. One of the 25 people back there must have done something wrong. I found out the cajun sauce is really just some powdered that shook onto the fries so avoid this MSG mess. Walked out of the store with a slight bump in blood pressure and we decided that I better wait before I operated a motor vehicle. Definitely a good burger place. How does it stack up to the likes of Sparky's, Nation's, TrueBurger...? Well... here goes: (NOT a comprehensive list of burger joints) 1. TrueBurger 2. Sparky's 3. Five Guys 4. Nation's 5. In N Out Fully customizable burgers (and dogs!)... I went for both. I pretty much stacked as much as I could in that double burger with whatever they could fit. The end result? A whole lot of flavorful goodness! Every bite felt like a beautiful heart attack. The hot dog, however, wasn't as amazing as I thought it'd be. I'm not exactly sure, but even with the bacon-add-on... it couldn't be saved. I guess I'll leave the hot-dogging to Pink's and the like. A good recommendation... Sweet Green Tea! I don't care if you're not a big fan of tea in general, that tea is suspiciously flavorful. I'm not sure what they did with it, but it'll keep you refillin'! The crew that worked the shift that night was super friendly. They definitely understood that the concept was still new to some people and explained the process of full burger customization thoroughly. Even though Five Guys doesn't fair that well against places like TrueBurger and Sparky's, the overall pleasant experience is what gives the place its 4th Star. Keep it up folks. Is it better than In-N-Out? Yeah, I'd say so. Like In-N-Out, the vegetarian option is a sandwich with no patty -- just the produce you can get on their burgers and cheese. Their grilled onions were sweet, not burnt. The fries were thick and crisp, with the skins on, which I like. The large was waaaaaay too big, though, for two people. Unfortunately, unlike In-N-Out, they do not have milkshakes, but they do have sweet iced tea. I was just coming home from a trip to the South when I went to Five Guys, so the sweet tea was nice -- I wasn't quite ready to come down from the sugar and caffeine. The worst part? The ambience. The walls are covered in positive reviews for Five Guys around the country. It feels like they're trying too hard. And the music they were playing was truly atrocious -- eighties crap rock, played way too loud. read more

Dear In-n-Out, We need to talk. It's been a great time and I will always look back at your palm trees and drive-thrus with a fondness and love, but I'm met someone. He gives me things you never could. He gives me choices like bacon and BBQ sauce that you were just never willing to try. He lets me spice up my fries as well as my life with his Cajun fries. I was told that 5 guys is comparable to In and Out. Please shoot the person who started that rumor. They're not even the same. The burger was flavorless and lacked appeal. I think the burger I make at home tasted better. However, the cajun fries were pretty delish and there's plenty of it, so an extra star just for that. $17 for 2 burgers, regular fries, and a soda is outrageous! read more

For a tiny gal, I LOVE my burgers. However, this would not be my go to spot. The burgers are too greasy, the taste is meh, and it's really sloppy to eat! I know, I know, a burger isn't suppose to be neat but this burger is slipping and sliding all over the place and there isn't enough bun for my patty and the veggies are every where and I'm just not getting a good, big, tasty bite every single time. It's like the literally threw everything together and slopped it on the wrapper to serve. On the bright side, there are peanuts and the staff is friendly and the place is fairly clean. read more
