I haven't been on TOGO's in a while. There is one that is used to be close to my home but closed like a few years ago. Most TOGO's places are usually clean and small with not alot of seatings, but most people do takeouts anyways. It's usually a good place to come here and grab for lunch. I really like how thick the breads are and also the menu options there. I usually order Pastrami sandwich if I recall, but decided to go light for today, which is Turkey & Cheese Sandwich with no mayo. Can never go wrong with #9 the hot pastrami or #24 the turkey avocado! Still my 2 favorite sandwiches. This time around we tried their new cheesesteak sandwich. It was tasty. Online ordering is easy, but if you order a hot sandwich they wait until you get there to put the meat in so it stays hot. They also have a family meal deal that includes 4 sandwiches for $25 but you can often find a promo code for $5 off. Limited choices for the family meal though. Glad to see this San Jose born sandwich shop is still around! read more

Wow. I love Togo's! Especially this location... but today, the simple things didn't get done. I had a young man wait on me (haven't seen him before). Twice he asked me what I wanted on it, and twice I responded "lettuce, tomatoes and a little onions with Swiss cheese." I get home... no lettuce. So disappointing! Not to mention, why does everyone have such a hard time with the cash register? Total was $11.49. I gave him $20.04. He literally did not know what to do with it. Which, I get these days. But, when you key in what you are given, it TELLS you how much change to give-exactly. I noticed he was digging in for way too much change. Sure enough, he keyed in $20.40 instead of $20.04. I had to explain it and returned some of the change. My frustration is when you lose even the simplest elements of customer service, you lose customers. Please, owners, just focus on the basics with your employees - it goes a LONG way to retaining good customers. Teach them about money, change and slowing down for the details. Remind them the cash register will tell them exact change to return as long as they key it in correctly. You will save money, too! read more

This location (Stevenson Blvd.) is not where I normally go but it was close by so I stopped in. The bread was so dry and old. When I took my first bite the bread crumbled. It was so bad that I didn't even eat the rest of the sandwich with the bread. When I deconstructed my sandwich I noticed the avocado, on the #24 - Turkey/Avocado, was very discolored. This location has a lot going for it for me. First, they are very close to my office. Second, they can quickly fulfill my large (7+ people) sando and salad order. Just your regular TOGO's. The food is consistent with other TOGO'S so not much to complain about when I can get my meatball sub! Their estimated time for the online ordering was pretty accurate. I had a pick up for 11:15 AM, arrived a bit early at 11:10, and the sandwiches were ready at 11:13! I often get worried that food will sit there for a while until someone picks them up so I like to arrive a little bit early. I don't know what the hell happened because I remember Togo's to be much better but this store is just terrible. I ordered three sandwiches in total and they were all dead and dry. The food was just not good. Pretty sure they just forgot to put on dressings which would make sense because they were also out of other condiments. To start off, I had a pickup order for two sandwiches which weren't ready on time. The place is chaotic and mismanaged with like six people squirming around doing the work of two subway employees and there wasn't even a rush. I smelled the pastrami, so I wanted another sandwich on top of a drink order. Bad mistake. And there began the onslaught of yelling. - Tried to pick up my doordash order? Yelled at. - Tried to order another sandwich? Yelled at. - Tried to get a drink? Yelled at. - Apparently I swiped my card wrong for the drink despite the machine totaling out? That's DEFINITELY a yelling at. This store fucking sucks. It's the worst waste of time, money, and most importantly emotional energy I've seen in memory. I cannot say the service is very quickly but it is good enough for a hand made sandwich. The staff is friendly and always ready to say "hello" and "thank you". How many businesses you have visited recently the servers actually say "thank you" to you? I'll bet you said "thank you" and they said "you welcome" or simply nothing. This review is based on a visit earlier this year. I hate leaving poor reviews so I try to "cool down" and usually forget, but clearly it's been with me since January. This location is horrible - I will never use it again, I'd visit a surrounding restaurant and take that gamble before subjecting myself to this Togo's locations lack of customer service, lack of care, and questionable food handling. I ordered a salad online - excited this location had the option to pre-order and pre-pay (I had 10min to eat between appointments). When I got there, they "hadn't received the order" blaming it on the receiving device, then the internet, then the printer. I pulled the order up on my phone and the more senior person wasn't going to honor it! They had me get back in line instead of remedying a pre-pay pick-up salad that was suppose to be ready. Eventually she got a gal that was standing around to make the salad. She didn't wash her hands and kept touching her face. She said she knew how to make whatever I ordered and with 2 min asked me what lettuce she needed to use - iceberg I replied and she proceeded to ask if that was the "little leafy type"... no it's the type that goes on your sandwiches... oh we're out of that... I'm pretty sure it's right there... no we don't use that in salads, I'm going to use these little leaves (manager looks over listening)... no I want the type of lettuce that matches the iceberg [she starts loading my salad with the wrong stuff and manager does nothing]. Oh and when I confronted her about using the wrong size salad box she swore it was the large. They didn't have dressing cups, just poured it liberally all over, and croutons instead of wontons?! I was SO UPSET and humiliated by continually having to request my salad being made correctly I settled for the horrible concoction created. They didn't comp it, provide a voucher, or apologize - just watched me walk out pissed. Stopped in to grab a salad during lunch hour. The wait was short and the staff is fine. My only, yet HUGE complaint is the lack of cleanliness and sanitation practice by every single person working. I do believe its a constant oversight versus intentional but they need additional training. The lady helping me put gloves on, per the usual, but then walked to the back, opened SEVERAL doors looking for ingredients touch multiple no food working surfaces, then proceeded to grab my lettuce an ingredient by hand with the same glove. The people who worked there would tend to forget chicken on my chicken salads... I would not go back there to save my mental health. Under this new management.
