My family and I have eaten at this location since it opened. We have eaten here a few times a week up until a few months ago. One day we came in and all the staff had changed and not for the better. Got our order after a ridiculous wait, large fry was filled about 3/4 full(had always been full plus bottom of order bag full too), patties were so thin you hold tjem up and see through them. This pattern has gone on for the past few visits and today was the breaking point. Ordered a chesseburger without a bun with two extra patties, asked the girl at the counter if she got the two extra patties before paying. She confirmed that she did and I paid. Looked at the receipt and they weren't on there and went back to the counter. I asked her about it and she looked at me like I was speaking some language from another planet. I explained once again that I wanted 4 patties and she cslled over a guy to help decode what crazy message I was sending her. He could not grasp the complexity of these four patties going together and looked at me with the same look as the register girl. Lucky the mexican manager overheard my plea for four patties and said he'd take car of it. While walking back to my chair another customer had brought his food up to complain as well. As I'm sitting with my wife I watch one more gentlemen complain and was reimbursed. Our numbers called and we get our food. I open up my pan(no bun) to find minature hocky pucks! No pucking cheese on these pucks!!! Couldn't hold my cool anymore..demanded money back and left! Looks like a parolee work release program has taken over in here! I had never been to a Five Guys when I stopped by to get a take home meal one night after work. The burger was huge and wrapped in paper, a personal favorite. But the fries....holy cow, the fries! One order of these is plenty for 2 or even three people. These are burgers the way I would make them at home and the staff here are fun and actually speak to you and thank you for your business instead of saying "no problem". The response "no problem" which I find in poor taste if not offensive is what i get from quite few fast food joints these days, particularly chains. I wish a Five Guys would open up in Independence. Every location I've ever been to, including this one, at Legends, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs and even Columbia has given me and my friends an identically awesome experience. They have wide, open kitchens for their staff to cook your meal without crying and sweating all over it and they are always friendly and polite. I like that they have complementary peanuts in the shell for you to have while you wait. It's a great way for them to stir your appetite for the bad ass food you're about to get. Their dining areas are always clean and there are always seats available, even when the place is packed. All the locations I've been to seem to be set up the same way, and are about twice the size of an average McDonald's or bigger. The menu they have hanging up is genius: set up to make ordering your custom burger a breeze. I've noticed that even large groups of people get their orders in super quickly - even though burgers are custom - because their menu is idiot proof. Their food is made to order and it gets out to you in a hurry. The real reason I go to Five Guys: their fries. They fill the cup with them and then dump another scoop into the bag on the Little order. Split a regular order of fries with your friend or date. If I develop a heart problem and keel over at the age of 45 from eating at Five Guys, so be it. It will have been a life worth living. read more

Five Guys Burgers is one of my favorite burger joints and I have ate here about 7-8 times since this one opened. They just opened one in Liberty, so I will have to visit that one soon. I love that they have a HUGE topping list and every burger is made exactly how you want it. Their french fries are AWESOME and to spice it up a little they have a Cajun seasoning that I really love. I must say this place was pretty good. It is pricey. Me and my two ordered a burger fries and a drink it came to like 30$ bucks. Which to me was a lot for just a burger and fry to drink that was not even in a combo. They have the free peanuts of course which was cool. I'll just start by telling you that I'm a freak for a good burger. I'm the girl though, that has a difficult time finding the burger I want on the menu, because there is always some topping on the other burger that I would like to add i.e. BBQ sauce, jalepenos, grilled onions, or bacon, That's just me. I ordered the 1 patty burger, which is plenty big enough for me. Especially after I put on the aforementioned toppings. I'm not a fan of the fries. I've been there twice and both times the fries, while plentiful, were not hot, and they were... lets just say the dredded word, Limp! Ouch baadddd word. Especially for a french fry. It would be nice if the buns were toasted, but they are not. This is fast food remember. The burger comes to you wrapped in foil, hot and juicy. Accent on the juicy. Oh, by the way, don't try to ask for them medium, they only cook'em one way.The other fun thing about this joint, is the box of peanuts in a shell that you can munch on while you wait for your food. I don't know about you but, there's something naughty about throwing your shells on the floor that I just love. Wouldn't my Momma scream. So I'll continue to go there and release my inner demons. The new 5 Guys is now open up at Tiffany Springs Market or whatever it's called. Where the new best buy is and all that just North of Zona Rosa. I have been stalking the website for a few weeks to find out when it will open, trying to get one of their burgers. Well, the website still says it's "coming soon", but the place opened this last Monday. First thing I noticed is that there were lots of people working there and only 3 other customers. But, it was 3 o'clock, and most people have eaten already. I ordered my cheeseburger, fries and a regular drink. The bill came in at $10.09... wtf? this is fast food? i ordered 1 cheeseburger, 1 regular fry and 1 regular size drink. Well, tax in the place is 10%... but still 10 bucks for a fast food burger and fries? Whatever, it better be good I said to myself. I waited 8 minutes for the food, which was OK, b/c the beef is cooked to order, during which time I counted 16 employees in the place. Most doing nothing. I went over to the fountain drink area and two more employees (make that 18) were "faking" like they were working by wiping down counters by the fountain machines. One said "god damn, I only gots 15 minutes left, i need to the hell outta here". All the while I am standing behind them wanting a soda. They finally notice me and just stare at me and begrudgingly walk away... just to see them wipe down a clean table. I hate that crap. So, I get my food. The burger was very good. I can't say too much for the fries, they were good, but not great. All in all, I would break my quasi-no-fast-food-rule a little more if the meal was, say, 8.50. Just a little too expensive and/or not quite good enough... Good burger tho. read more

If you're craving a big greasy hamburger, than look no further. Sometimes you just need a greasy hamburger and fries. I personally think it's overpriced and wish there was a better deal when it came to sides and drinks, but there isn't. Speaking of sides, you get a large amount of fries with your order but they are soooo bland and super soft. I may be a fry snob but these are some of my least favorite fries in the area. read more

Five guys does what they do-well. Go here for a burger and fries cause that's pretty much all they have. I would compare them to an In&out burger. Fresh meat and hand cut fries. I always get a small burger (one patty) vs. the regular burger. You can load it with lots of options. We order one small fry for our entire family of four. (fry portions are huge.) Definitely a good value and the employees have all been there since they opened which I believe is a sign of a well run operation. read more

Our first time, had to try it after all the raves. Wish I had know the difference between what the burgers were. Cashier was not very helpful. I thought it was too expensive for fast food. Two burgers, two fries, two drinks cost about $25, could have went to Red Robin for a better burger. It was okay, nothing I will go out of my way for. I absolutely love five guys and cannot believe I am writing this review. Last Saturday I left 5 guys disappointed for the first time ever. I ordered a double cheeseburger with large Cajan fries. Everything seemed perfect, staff was friendly & the overall atmosphere was amazing as always. But when I received my food the disappointment started. I know 5 guys is is not cheap with their burgers like McDonald's but this was terrible. My burger was TINY, I could not believe how tiny this hamburger was. Usually when I get this SAME exact thing I struggle to finish it but this was very disappointing. Then came the fries... typically when you think of 5 guys fries you think of an overflowing cup of fries to the point where you can barely finish it. I looked into my bag and the cup wasn't even 3/4 filled up. Long story short I was VERY disappointed with my experience at this location and it has me questioning if this is how 5 guys are going to be everywhere I go. I really hope not because I love 5 guys and I hate to be having to speak negatively about them. read more

Big Fan of 5 Guys. Always a consistent burger, with a nice assortment of toppings (For no extra charge). Can go from fairly exotic to plain ketchup and mustard, with a pickle. Recommend to anyone that likes a good traditional burger, but it not looking for some sort of Gourmet burger with Goat Cheese and bean sprouts as the toppings. read more

This joint has been hit or miss for me. One day, it will be great and the next, the burgers will be dry or soggy or weak on toppings. I always get the junior burger because the normal ones are ginormous. Their fries are pretty awesome if you get the cajun ones. Nice and spicy. This is a notch above your standard fast food burger joint. The two times I've been there everything was made fresh, the burger and especially the fries. Both times the place has been packed, lunch and dinner. The food is a little pricey for a burger joint. All of the fixings for your burger are free, which for some will make up for the higher price. Be prepared on the fries, you will get a lot. The regular size is just a smallish cup, but after they pack your bag with the burger and cup of fries they dump a container of fries on top of it all. July 4th: Five Guys Burgers and Fries located at Skyview Ave in my opinion is in a good location. Not far from a Target, Best Buy, and many other surrounding businesses. I definitely enjoyed grabbing a cheeseburger and some cajun style fries. The menu is simple yet gets the job done. The staff at this location were friendly and ambitious. We didn't have to wait very long for our cheeseburgers and cajun fries. This staff can put out food fast. This location has a small amount of outdoor seating. The location is kept clean. I would normally give Five Guys 5 stars. They have great burgers. But most importantly, they have the very best fries. Lots of them. Fresh. Hot. Sadly though, the last couple of times that I've been to this Five Guys the fries were undercooked, barely warm and sort of limp. I'll give them one more try. Overall, I would rate most Five Guys 4 stars...THIS location, however, has a fun, friendly and slightly, quirky-staff who merit my FIVE star rating. I really enjoy them and they seem to like finding different ways to get me my jalapeno "fix". I typically order the grilled cheese with all the veggies AND DOUBLE jalapenos-YUM! The grilled cheese is different than the veggie sammich. They grill the inside of the bun so it gets all nice and crispy (like a grilled cheese), THEN YOU ask for all the yummy veggies to be added in. I think this is a much tastier version of the veggie sammich, which is just the bun with veggies. Since everyone else has already pointed out the painfully obvious similarities between the "Guys" and In-n-Out, I'll skip it. (Sort of.) These two chains are VERY similar. My only beef with In-and-Out (and listen up people, I am a 5th generation native San Diegan, so I love many things Cali) is the same thing that I really like about them.....they have been owned by the same family since their inception in 1948. That part is AWESOME. What I don't like is the little religious scripture they print on the paper products. Have you ever turned your cup over (when it's empty, you wise cracker) to see the little diddy? THAT just BUGS me. If I wanted religion with my burger, I'd eat it in church. So, back to the "Guys" they are the equivalent of In-n-Out, sans the secret society menu. The free peanut appetizers are fun, the fries are REALLY good and most plentiful (they overfill the cup!) and of course a "little" burger is really a single patty. A regular burger is two patties. The hot dogs are average, nothing special, but I have only once abandoned my grilled cheese, loaded with veggies and double jalapenos. I also LOVE that they have Coke Zero! Once in a great while, because the convenient location is close to PetSmart and Target, I will swing buy to get Coke Zero, and nothing else! read more

My husband loves five guys we eat often in St Joe though. We went to watch movie at AMC Barrywoods 24 then visited this place for the 1st time. The lady at the cashier did not hear my husband ordered 2 burgers so she only charged us for 1. So after we received the food we found out there was a mistake. While I was at the counter asking to check the receipt I handed them if they charged us for 2 burgers but our receipt stated only 1 burger but a guy(who was sweeping the floor, talking to the customers there, very friendly) insisted to get us another burger and it was free of charge too! My husband is the kind of person that just say it is ok we did not got charge for that let's move on but this time took him a sec to think if he really want that extra burger so he can take it home. I went to the Tiffany Springs store in Kansas City Mo. Took my burger home! My first bite had a huge hair in it! I called the store today before it opened! They didnt offer me a comp for the burger that I didn't get to eat! I talked to the manager! That isn't customer service! This is the second time I have gotten hair in my food! They have also given me the wrong food and put items I am allergic to on my Burger! I will never go back to this store again! If you want hair in your food I guess this is the place to go!
