The staff HORRIBLE... Very rude not friendly, and could care less about customers

I have tried many burgers in this town, so I figured I might as well try one more. I went to Five Guys and was happy that I did. It's located in the Ward Parkway Shopping Center, which seems like a good thing for this mall. The crowds have been heavy every time that I've been. The place is shiny white and very clean. The staff has been top notch every single time. From the cashiers to the people handing out the food. Very nice and welcoming staff. The food is great. The burgers are really good and you have a nice list of topping to choose from to personalize your food. The fries are freshly cut and plentiful. They put your cup of fries in the bag and still add a helping hand full on top. It's a simple menu which translated into those few things being done very well. I like that. The other plus (and oddity) is that there are boxes of peanuts in the shell laying around for you to help yourself to. Burgers, fries and peanuts! It works for some reason. The prices are reasonable. I'm glad to add this to my list of options for a good hamburger in this heavily hamburgered city! read more

If you want a quick meal that's accurate don't go here. My meal consisted of a cheeseburger with the works minus tomato add bbq another cheeseburger for my guest and a large fry to share. That's it and it took over 45 minutes for me to get my food. I'm sorry but if I'm going to pay over $20 in food for 2 people for lunch and I'm expected to wait that long I'm going to sit down place that's significantly better than a "fast" food joint that sells burgers. And to add salt to the wound they didn't get my order right. Now, I work in the food industry and I understand we aren't perfect and we make mistakes, but if you're going to keep me eating for almost an hour then I expect correct orders and quality. The only good thing I can say was when I finally go the food it was good but the whole visit was soured because I didn't feel like my time as a customer or as a person was valued at all. Basically only go here if you have more than enough money to burn and nothing to do that day because it's gunna be a while. read more

I had heard nothing but good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. I was disappointed. In all fairness, I loved the McAllisters that formerly occupied the place and hated to see it go. So my review might be skewed by that fact. Nonetheless, I wasn't impressed. The place was cheesy and cheap looking. I wasn't expecting fine dining...but it was cheap looking even by fast food standards. My buger was ok, nothing more nothing less. The size of the fries was insane. One serving could easily serve 4 people. No kids meal either which was surprising given the type of restaurant. This location has terrible customer service. I learned to ignore it but after these past two times of screwing up my order, they've lost my business. This last time I ordered one little cheeseburger and two regular ones however she rung up three little cheeseburgers. I didn't realize she entered it incorrectly until I got home and saw three little cheeseburgers in the bag. When I called, she didn't apologize and told me I would have to pay the difference next time I came in. She made no effort to make things right. Their apathetic attitude, lack of common courtesy and routine incompetence has lost them my business for good. read more

Do you want some really delicious fries and to know exactly where the potatoes came from? Then this is the place for you. However, if you want a good burger to go with those fries, try else where. My burger was given to me balled up in tin foil at the bottom of a paper sack buried under all my fries; I had to dig through my hot, greasy, flaky fries in order to get my burger out. When I tried eating my burger, just holding it was a problem. The patty didn't seem to be one piece of meat; holding the burger above my napkin the meat fell off in bits like it was melting or something. Really a poorly constructed burger, especially for $7.00, and the bun was nothing more than a cheap white bun you'd find $1.50 for 8 at your local grocer. I'd give this place a much more favorable review if the charged about $2.00 a burger. Like I said, the fries are great, but the burger is bad and takes about 15 minutes to be made. Try Tomfooleries on the plaza, try Westport Flea Market in Westport, try Hamburger Mary's in Crossroads West, Blanc Burgers, Beer Kitchen, fuck go to Burger King or just have a salad but do not take your appetite to this place. read more

This location is great! Folks at the counter and at the grill are always enthusiastic and friendly. Service is quick...even a long line during the lunch rush moves quickly. Of course, Five Guys is great, in general, but this crew does it right. They also have one of the newer Soda dispensers (with touch screen) so there are a wide variety of beverage choices. read more

I'm not saying that this is a bad burger...because it isn't. It's a HUGE fresh burger. I just personally like a burger more like Winstead's. I would recommend getting a single if you aren't used to big burgers. I'm going to be honest, I don't really remember the fries, which in my book isn't a good thing. Eaten at this location many times and the Lee's Summit location once. Both serve the same great juicy burger and huge portion of french fries. This is a place to go when you are so hungry that you cant stand it and want a ton of food- you get it, and it is nearly alway right on. That is, hot thoroughly cooked (but NOT dried out) burger and tons of hot fries. Two people can probably share one order of fries as I have done with a friend and get by just fine. I like the fact that the meat is cooked well to be safe- but not dried out: that is not easy to do for many restaurants. All in all, my only real criticism is subjective: the flavor of the fries is fairly unique to the use of peanut oil. I prefer something different, but it isnt a deal breaker, and I generally eat 'em all! The price is right in line for the amount of food that you get, too. A burger with cheese and nothing else on it, reg fries, & Coke is all that this boy needs at Five Guys...Oh, the help is generally quite friendly as well, and I like that. read more

The food was awesome!!! The place was very clean and the employees were very friendly and really seemed to be working well as a team. There was one particular guy there, tall, glasses, in a gray shirt said his name was Matt and he was the GM. Well, he came around and thanked us for coming in. He seemed very prideful and really seemed to take ownership of the place and really seemed to do a good job of keeping his employees motivated and on task. Which, is a pleasant surprise considering the last time I came in almost 3 months ago where there seemed to be a lack of organization and teamwork and the employees just seemed to just be going trough the motions. Also, the place wasn't as clean and the food seemed to take twice as long even though it was just as busy. This is my first time going to Five Guys. The staff was friendly and so was a patron. I was sitting by the peanuts and it Friday night. Wonder if I looked like a homeless since i was the only person seemed to be alone. Woman spoke loudly how are you? Guess you could not help to speak where I was sitting. I still thought that was nice. The fries were ok and too much for me a bit bland. . The burger did not add up to what I had heard about.Wish the burger were as bit as the fries! I got the little cheeseburger all the way. It got soggy as I was eating it and decided to ditch the rest of the soggy bun to find a skinny burger. Usually a small burger would fill me up but I wanted enough to go with just half of my fries. I took my fries home. I had water. Good they have lemons by the drink station. I was happy that I could get some water and not have to get tea to get me a lemon to flavor my water. Had I got regular cheese burger may have been better but I am not sure because the burger smallest I had ever seen. I. I just wanted to try Five Guys since I was up at the mall. If I do go back I would work the toppings into a salad and eat more peanuts. Sorry no beer for the peanuts. read more
