My husband & I ate at Five Guys tonight. I know they are famous for their fries, I didn't order those choosing to avoid the calories. Our dinner was ok, but the Resturant was freezing cold inside & the music was so loud we had trouble having a conversation. Hadn't been to Five Guys in a long time and it sounded so good. However it was not a good experience. It was at the end of lunch and no one in line to order, not busy at all so should have got the order right without a problem. We had 1 regular burger, 1 cheeseburger and 1 little cheeseburger. 2 large drinks and 2 fries. Fries were very good, a lot smaller serving than our previous visits, but very good. Drink cups given us were wrong size, toppings on the burgers were all wrong, one came with no toppings at all. For $43 we could have gone somewhere that offered good service. Most likely our last visit at this location. Now I know why they weren't busy. read more

I frequent this location often. The food is always good. Hot fries. Most impressive is the staff. Even when it's slow they are busy doing something. Never see anyone just standing around. Place is clean. Restrooms clean. Very impressive for a fastfood restaurant. read more

While the food is pretty good (probably a 4) the service is horrible and drops the overall score to two stars. I went on a Saturday night and the place was empty. Thinking my order would be prepared quickly due to the lack of business, I ordered enthusiastically. Boy was I wrong. While waiting, I watched employees chit-chat, goof off, look at things on their cell phones and just pretty much ignore me. After 10 minutes of waiting (and not seeing any food being prepared) I finally asked what was taking so long. The snotty employee said "well we're busy!" Um really? There were two tables of customers eating. Mine was the only order they had to prepare. After 15 minutes, I finally received my order. Because of the sub-par service and attitudes of the employees, I will not be back to this location. read more

The menu is very simple here: burgers, hot dogs, fries, and fountain drinks. But oh do they do those few things well! I've never tried the hot dogs, so I can't vouch for them, but the burgers and fries are excellent. You can get all kinds of toppings for the burgers. The "regular" burgers are a double. I haven't tried the "small" burgers, so I don't know if that is just a single, or if it is some kind of mini-burger. The fries were great, well cooked (I hate soggy fries!). Five Guys is the place to go for a burger. They do burgers and fries exactly right. You will not find a better burger anywhere. I don't eat fast food anymore but Five Guys will remain the exception for as long as I can walk,drive,fly,or roll to a Five Guys location. The service is basic fast food but it is always good. Keep in mind this is not McDonald's "freezer to table in 60 seconds" fast food so be patient while they cook you a burger made from fresh meat and whatever burger magic the Five Guys discovered. Pretty basic five guys with average service. Quality of food in generally not consistent, some days the burgers and fries are great others days order is incorrect and service is slow. For the price of the meal, almost equal to ordering takeout. Convenient location in kdale, clean atmosphere given the high traffic and peanut shells. read more

Awesome! Holy bag of French fries!! I know this place is bad for my cholesterol but my cholesterol can suck it. These burgers are amazing! I always get a double bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. I prefer the Cajun seasoning on my fries, but I'm usually dining with a wimp (cough boyfriend cough) and opt for no seasoning. Nothing better than a burger, fries, and rootbeer. The restaurant is always clean, even with those pesky peanuts (which I love!!) The staff is patient and friendly and there is plenty of seating. read more

Today I went to five guys and I bought a burger and a milkshake. When the worker called my number I got my bag then I said I didn't get my milkshake. The worker then told me "I'll make it when I have the time I'm sorry." I stood there for 15 mins waiting for my milkshake. The lady beside me told me to go to the cashier and tell her I didn't get my milkshake So I did that then the cashier made my milkshake for me instead of the other guy. The worker telling me he will make it when he has the time is not ok. I was in a hurry to go and I didn't have the time to wait 15 mins for a milkshake. I would leave zero stars if I could. The first order, they left off my husbands burger completely and gave me the wrong one. He called them and went back to pick up the correct order. Not only was mine now wrong, but both burgers looked like complete slop. Drenched in ketchup, soggy lettuce. It all looked thrown together and unappetizing. Those fries are to die for- I have no shame in hauling around a bucket of them! The staff is diligent and I've never had any problems with them. The burgers are also delicious and my guilty pleasure. A carbon copy of the other Five Guys restaurants. The burgers are pretty good, plenty of selections, but priced somewhat steeply for what you get. Maybe a step above the mega burger places, but these are far from gourmet burgers. Free peanuts are always a plus :) read more

Five Guys is a burger franchise out of Washington DC that has done pretty well. They have fresh burgers with quality ingredients and fries...oh the fries. The family likes to head up to Five Guys on the weekends for a burger. The restaurant is nice, plenty of seating. They have an abundance of peanuts sitting around, so if you or someone in you are with has allergies, do not bring them here. The key about Five Guys is how you order on the menu. They have two different size burgers. For me, the "minis" are five. Less meat and the same toppings and the full size. I always find whatever toppings I do want on my burger, it is always fresh. Now the fries. Do not order a separate fry for each person you are with. If you order one large fry, you will get a bag of fries. It took me two trips to realize this. You will just be wasting money, and more importantly fries, if you order separate fries. After realizing this trick, I can say I enjoy Five Guys even more. Quality burgers and good sides. read more

Same great quality as other 5 Guys, but you get far less quantity of fries. A large fry here is equivalent to a small at other locations.

I only gave one star because I had to. Staff yelled at my family and when all I requested was an apology I was blown off. Even went to owner who blew us off. Food is over priced and greasy. Try Burgerfi in Raleigh instead. read more

During our last trip to the Knigthdale NC Guys B&F (5 7/15/12 12:30pm) while standing in line waiting to order the floors were so sticky it actually made a noise when you stepped. We ordered 2 small burgers, one large drink & one large fries = $16.02 ... when the order was ready I found the napkins inside the bag to be soiled and torn ... when I brought to the attention of the young man that assembled our order, I showed him the napkins suggesting he could be more careful - He Rolled His eyes - a very rude thing to do, in fact others in the assembly area were equally put out that I said antyhing. The serving of fries was only adequate as $4.59 +/- for a large order that barely filled the cup, seemed to be a drastic change from the over flowing servings of our past trips to this store & all Five Guys locations including VA stores!. The price used to be OK but now the serving size requires a much much lower price! Before leaving we both used the restrooms to find them messy, floors sticky, and the toilet seat had feces on it, urine on the bowl & floor - hard to believe they got this way in 90 minutes since they opened at 11:00am ... Very Disappointed! We will not go to the Knightdale NC location again - the North Hills store is a bit farther to drive but worth the drive. read more
