I hate to say it but I don't think this place caters to the demographic location. (Hence the low star rating) people in this area expect a lot when they have to shell out more than they would at McDonald's. I had a great experience. This is the worst I've have ever been treated by a manager . We placed our order and there were mistakes which were corrected . Or so we thought we ordered 1 drunk 1 water 2 burgers 1 regular fry The amount didn't make sense so we questioned it . Then we were given a different price . Sat down order came no fries . Went back to cashier the she said oh I forgot and thencharged ya for a large not a regular . I said because of the mistake they She be free and the manger chimes in and said no nothing was done wrong . The manger left the grill to come to the register and was arguing that nothing was done wrong and we just needed to pay for the fries. In the meantime burgers are sitting getting cold . If you want STUFF on your burger this is the place for a great burger. I eat my cheeseburgers PLAIN so a good tasting hamburger patty and good bun is top notch and Five Guys do this. I'll still take a Double Double as far as a great juicy burger, but Five Guys caters to those people that like a change. Once in a long while, grilled mushrooms is a nice change from plain and they can do that and much more. I like Five Guys. That said, I like In-N-Out, too. I am not going to get into a debate over which burger is better, but depending on my mood and proximity, I would go to In-N-Out over Five Guys. Five Guys burgers are juicy, some would say greasy. A really rare burger is what I like and I'm not getting one of those at either Five Guys or In-N-Out. I can get a rare burger at Umami (Oakland) or Burgermeister (Berkeley or Alameda). But I digress. Lots of burger toppings are available ... the normal mayo, lettuce, tomatoes then grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, Jalapeños, peppers, A-1 steak sauce, BBQ sauce and hot sauce. Share a regular order of fries unless you want to carbo load. I really like the Cajun fries. Sigh. I want this place to be better. They COULD be better. They have all the right components. Their service is bad. Staff has been rude to me EVERY SINGLE TIME we've come in. I have a busy life, family, and when we do places like 5 Guys, it's for take out. They have an AMAZING online ordering system. No joke. My absolute favorite set up for taking online orders. EASY to get exactly what you want with ease. I think other take out places should model their takeout orders in this fashion. The meat is so so. Thin patties cooked to death. Better than BK or McD, less tender than In&Out, Flavor is ok. The portions are huge. I get the jr burger every time, and it is still too much to finish in one sitting, for me! Toppings... The bacon is thick and perfectly cooked. I can get mushrooms, pickles, onions grilled, raw, or both, and on and on and on. And they aren't stingy with the toppings. Good stuff. When I place my order online and pay online, it's because I want to run in and run out. I order and pay online with Chipotle, run in, they have a line for phone/online orders, and I give them my name, they hand me my bag, and off I go. At this place, the food is NEVER ready, no matter how much time they have. Ten minutes, every time. Who has time for that?? They think they're doing you a favor by waiting until you arrive to drop your fries into the frier. I get the idea, we all like hot fries. But when my burgers are sitting on the counter, wrapped and ready to go and I have to wait a minimum of TEN minutes to get my fries, guess what? Not only is my burger cold, but my bun is now soggy with the juices from all of the amazing, and bountiful, toppings. I get that they're trying to make the fries good, but when it's at the expense of the burger, that is a mistake. Also, when I request on my online order that I want everything ready when I arrive, and they ignore me EVERY time, I won't be back. The first time we ordered online and arrived to pick up, I mentioned that I was in a hurry when they said they were just dropping the fries (husband and child in the car waiting), I watched them help FIVE other customers, bagging up fries for them! "We don't drop your fries until you let us know you're here. That way they're hot. People want their fries hot." Yes, true, I prefer hot spuds, but I can reheat those in a toaster oven. I can not, however, 'unsoggify' a drenched and falling apart bun. And people that arrived AFTER I checked in, got in line, and ordered, were getting their meals WITH fries. When they called my name, TEN MINUTES after I checked in, she tells me, "you're welcome, your fries are hot." I asked her if my buns were soggy and burgers cold after waiting ten minutes. She shoved my bag in my hands and walked away. I got home 5 minutes later and the buns weren't even edible they were so drenched. It disintegrated as I peeled it off the bottom and tops of my burger. Pretty gross. So I ate my burger on a plate with a fork and skipped the carbs. Not the worst thing in the world to do, but come on... This place could be SO good. Their staff has crappy attitudes and seem to forget that I am PAYING for the food that I order, they're not doing me a favor and giving it to me. I expect people to deliver better customer service and they are consistently BAD. So unimpressed. Time to bring someone in to explain the concept of good customer service and to train them to prepare food so that they burgers and fries are done at the same time and then everything is hot! :) read more

I wanted a cheese veggie sandwich with only jalapeños and grilled onions with the rest of the toppings I walk in there and there is no welcome like it used to be. There are 2 people in their store during lunch. I get there she is talking to her co worker looks at me keeps talking and slowly makes her way towards me. I tell her what I wanted and forgot to tell her that I want the rest of the toppings. I said I wanted the rest of the toppings and there was an attitude change. She was not afraid to show her unneeded emotions. it was like I bothered her with my mess up. It's whatever, but the costumer service isnt the best like the past 3 times I have been there. The grilled vegetarian with cheese is awesome! Add jalapeños to give it a little needed flavor! Their fries are the VERY best, tastiest fries I have ever eaten in the US. Go to The Habit! This used to be my favorite burger place, but now it's The Habit. I went here before with no problems, never waited too long for my order. I always get the little bacon cheeseburger with fries. But I came here yesterday after ordering on the phone and I ended up waiting for at least 20 minutes. I expected the food to at least be ready by the time I got there, but there were two people, I assume high schoolers, in there that seemed way more interested in talking than working. I literally saw my bag just sitting there while they skipped around the grill doing nothing at all. I told them I was waiting for my food for a little too long and they apologized and put the fries in my bag. I grabbed it without thanking them and left. We have been coming here since they opened and always enjoyed it until today. First of all, they ask for a tip when you're paying for the food, before you get any food. A tip is a gesture of thanks for good service, so asking for a tip before the service is performed makes no sense. Second, and the reason we walked out with half our food left on the table is the staff. There is a crazy loud lady yelling and laughing with her coworkers in Spanish. She sounds like a hyena that just found an antelope with a broken hip. The poor girl working at the cash register looked so burned out from working with this nonsense. I felt really bad for her. This behavior is unacceptable in a restaurant environment...most environments. She and her Spanish yelling coworkers are so loud, we couldn't handle it and left with most of our food still on the table. A lot of other customers were also very aggravated by them and started to sit down to eat, but ended up leaving with their food. Some higher management needs to come to this location and clean house as they'll be losing a lot of customers with these morons working here. read more

The regular cheeseburger comes stacked with 2 patties. The burgers are stacked high, but not big in circumference. The fries are ok, a bit salty. I usually frequent small locally owned burger joints, but after getting nickled and dimed down the street at the only other show a stones throw away that seems to have enjoyed the monopoly of taking advantage of the High School students for a tad too long, I welcome the competition. Looking for an exotic Le Cordon Bleu burger, with a Gluocestershire stilton, and Peruvian parsnips on it? -Look elsewhere. But if you crave a solid American burger give them a shot. I tried the concord location of Five Guys and was not a fan, I decided to try this location to see if this location was any better - nope I was wrong. I'm not sure what all the rave is about with this place. Some like to compare it to in n out burgers and there is no comparison there at all. The burgers at this place has no taste at all which is a shame since they have a ton of potential here. The place always seems to be busy during lunch/dinner hour and also busy on the weekend. Good luck finding parking here as business here all share the same parking lot and sometimes it is full which is ridiculous to me. Disappointed! "overpriced" ok, so i've heard a few people raved about this burger joint and they finally opened one up in Pinole. So with high expectations we went there today for lunch (so we can judge it ourselves). Place was packed, so we decided to just take our order to go...(in line for about 10 mins, got our order in 15 minutes) Our order was filled INCORRECTLY!. So sad! for such a small order. 1 li'l HAMBURGER with everything....I got a cheeseburger!... Ummm, there's a very good reason why I did not order it with cheese. So I scraped off the cheese. 1 bacon cheeseburger with NO onions, No mustard.. the burger was smothered with mustard! (no hope scraping off this yellow stuff). Barbeque sauce was allright but nothing compared to kinders. I ordered fries and expected it to be hot and fresh not mcdonalds sitting under a heat lamp soggy. I asked for a second batch and the fries still came out SOGGY... I mean if your going to charge and arm and a leg for a simple burger with simple fat fries at least get the fries straight. The food here tastes better then other locations that I have gone to but the customer service is lacking. The first time I went, the service was great as Micaela, my waitress told me about the free peanuts and informed me of the free toppings and more. She even repeated my whole order with the toppings. Superb service by her. I though this place was good so I went back today and it was horrible, they screwed up my order and I had to wait in line forever because the guy was talking to the customer before me for quite a long time. A different guy took my order today, Michael took my order today and I ordered a Bacon Cheese Dog, and when I got home I found out that there was NO BACON... Then I looked on the bag and it says "BCDOG" NO BACON. I mean I get charged for a bacon cheese dog price, $5.49 and ended up getting a cheese dog which costs $4.49. He didn't even read my order back to me and just wanted my money and move on. I only requested for NO ONIONS not no BACON as it would defeat the purpose of paying more for bacon. I don't understand how you can order a bacon cheese dog and get no bacon, i'm pretty sure that a bacon cheese dog without bacon is a cheese dog which is cheaper. In the end, I have no clue how Michael screwed up my order but I feel this place is dishonest and cheats customers. I did notice one of the cooks asking Michel what to do since since it said "bacon cheese dog" with no bacon. He didn't even bother coming up to me and asking me to clarify my order. Summary: 1. I have has them before in Fairfield and fell in love. I've been waiting for this location to open as I'm not in Fairfield very often. I went in about a week after they opened and the line was crazy long. It took 15-20 minutes just to place my order and another 15-20 to receive my food. Service was good. The fries are amazing!!! The burger is just OK. (I honestly prefer in & out). But the reason I give this place 3 stars is because it is ridiculously unhealthy. I ate my food around 730 and was in a coma after that until 11. I felt as tho I'd been drugged. I did not like that feeling at all. Thats the 2nd time thats happened. I have to say that I will probably never eat another burger from there again but I will definitely go back for fries. read more

Had a problem with the credit card machine on the second visit, so had to use cash. Unlimited roasted peanuts which is something unique to their restaurant.
