Ordered on website for curbside, it said it would be ready at 11:57. We rush down there and call right away at 12:01 they say they will be right out. 15 mins go by, still no food. Call again they say ok we will be right out another 15 mins go by. Finally I walk in frustrated, and tell them we are still waiting for food the girl say ok we will drop your fries. Ommmggg ....so finally an hour later we have our food , hamburger buns are soggy from sitting so long, but fries are fresh and hot. Not happy, spent alot of money and service was horrible read more

I really like the idea of being able to build your own burger. I wanted to give Five Guys a fair shot so I just ordered your everyday American style burger - lettuce tomato onion pickle mustard ketchup. My daughter got all crazy with hers and added jalepenos and steak sauce. We both thoroughly enjoyed the burgers! The first thing that came to mind when eating it was just like another reviewer stated - backyard barbeque! I do think the meat could be seasoned a little though. Overall, the burger was really good but definitely not the best! Cajun Fries? Ok so I wasn't sure what to expect as the cashier told me the fries were spicy. I definitely wanted to taste some spicy cajun fries but I also had my 3 year old with me who adores french fries. We ordered both. The regular fries tasted like homemade, just less soggy. The cajun fries were the better of the two for sure. But spicy? Not_Even_Close. That cajun seasoning tastes like seasoning salt to me and not enough of it to be honest. If I ever go back I will definitely take advantage of building my own burger and create something wild and crazy. And extra cajun seasoning on the fries! read more

I've gone there a couple times now and so far so good, no complaints yet! Well, I've gotten the same meal those two times and it was to my liking. I might have to keep trying this place out and there is a chance I will find something not to my liking, but both of the times I ate there it had been take-outs. We'll see, maybe next time I'll have an updated rating on Five Guys! The Bacon Burger and the Avocado Burger are pretty much the same, only if you add either/both of those two toppings. It's a big and dirty burger, you have to grab it real careful to not get yourself messy! :) It is a little pricey than usual fast-food places, but what I have eaten there it was worth the money I paid for. It is a small place on a corner, there is not enough parking and can get crowded at times simply because there is lots of shops and restaurant around that area; but if you get the right meal it might be worth the wait! If you like Tom's Burger, then you'll definitely like this place! The variety is good, depending on what you get your rating might differ from others! I heard quite a few good things about how five guys was better than in n out. My son begged me to go for months so we decide to take the family there for dinner last night after his 6th grade graduation. The girl who took our order rushed us even though there was no one else in line. It was clean inside. But, my main concern the food. Very disappointed. Worst burger and fries I have had in a while. No flavor, cheese was cold and not melted, sauce was bland, not even close to in n out or fat burger no comparison at all! The fries were the worst I've probably ever tasted. If you want to spend 18$ on a not so good burger, med fries and med. drink go to Disneyland, at least you will be treated with decent customer service. Berseba V. made no attempt to help familiarize my girlfriend and I with the menu since it was our first time here, however, she did an amazing job at making us feel like we didn't have two brain cells. Ok, I can honestly say that In and Out is better. I tried 5 Guys on two separate occasions to make sure I was giving them a fair shake but I wasn't blown away. Their burgers weren't bad but didn't have that something special (crack) that In & Out seems to have in their patties. The prices were a little high in comparison but I figure I 'd spend that much in gas driving out to the San Bernardino In & Out location. I did enjoy the multitude of customizable options that 5 Guys offers and their cajun fries were some of the better seasoned fires that I have had but they could have cooled it a bit on the seasoning salt. Oh and make sure to try out their new soda machines. They are the touch screen stand alone red behemoths that have 1000+ drink combinations. Go diabetes !!!! read more

Being a SoCal native, I've grown up with In N Out, but I'm not a fanatical loyalist about it. I can appreciate a good burger regardless of the source. So when Five Guys came to my area with much fanfare and hype, I wanted to see if it lived up to it's reputation as the best chain burger in the nation. Here's what I discovered. Burgers come standard with double patties, making the burger larger than In N Out's Double Double, but still smaller than Get The Burger's double Director (Get The Burger is a small indy burger joint here in Big Bear Lake and makes one mighty fine burger, check it out if you're up here). Is it a good burger? Yes. Is it better than In N Out? Can't compare really, since it's a different type of burger. It's more similar to Get The Burger or Red Robin. I prefer GTB and even Red Robin over Five Guys, but that's just my personal preference. All ingredients (meat, toppings, bun) tasted fresh. No frozen patty here. Fries were good and fresh, served in a greasy brown bag. Some may not like it that way but I do. They do go very light on the salt for both their burger and fries so you can salt to taste. That's good for those watching their salt intake, but those folks shouldn't be here in the first place. One problem I have with 5 Guys is they wrap the burger in a non-permeable foil wrapper. What that does is actually steam the bun and make it a bit too soft and mushy. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good burger but by far it's not the best burger I ever had. Best positive experience by far was placing a pre-order via their downloadable Android app. I used the app to order all the items, including burger toppings, pay via credit card and select a pickup time. I simply showed up and went to the pickup counter. My order was waiting and I bypassed the order line and the 15 to 20 minute wait. Very cool and I wish other places would do this. One negative for me was their overt, "in your face", self promotion. There wasn't an empty spot on the walls where they had a banner touting "Voted best burger", "best fries" and such. I found that annoying for some reason. Let the food do the talking, guys. However, the worst experience was by far the price. Two cheeseburgers, one large fries to split and two drinks came to over 22 bucks! Good burger, but not at that price. I would have given them 4 stars but knocked off one star for value. Now that I tried it, the mystique is gone and I'll stick to In N Out and GTB. read more

My mother & I arrived @ opening & were glad we got here when we did because the line was soon out the door. My mother & I both ordered the little bacon cheeseburger with various toppings, one large fries & two large drinks. The alarming total was $22! That was by far not the worst of it though. I noticed the music was loud, but when we sat down waiting for our food I noticed several people walking in the restaurant saying "geez, it's loud." One little boy had his ears covered the entire time he was in line. When I went to pick up our food I asked the employee who handed it to me if they would turn the music down. He said they weren't allowed. I asked why & he said corporate policy is to have a loud, fun atmosphere. I told him there was nothing fun about having music blasting you out the door & again asked for it to be turned down. Again, he said no. I told him I would never come back & I intended to write to the corporate offices. That's when a very nice employee stepped in & said she'd turn it down, which she promptly did. Now to the food: The buns were soggy in mere moments & the fries were almost burnt. I ate about 1/4 of the burger & about 10 fries. My mom ate about 1/2 hers & only about 3 fries. So, $22 gave us a rock concert, bad food & soon we will go somewhere else for lunch. Save your money (and your ears) & go elsewhere. read more

I've been trying to figure out why people like this place so much...is it the free add-ons? the creole fries (those are good)? what is it about this place that people find so good? I mean, I make a better burger on the George Foreman grill with some Costco sirloin frozen patties!...and after you've paid for everything, your down almost $10...I'll go to In N' Out and spend $6 for basically the same thing and you can't beat Animal-Style! If I want to spend $10 for a good burger, I will go to Umami burgers or I'll wait to get a Behemoth from the Grill 'Em All truck instead...maybe people are just fed up with BK, McD's etc? I see a few reviews about the service, i went when it was not really busy. The guy taking the order was very helpful, he explained the menu easy. The food was good i got the bacon single cheeseburger, the bacon is kinda whack but over all as a whole it tasted good. I didnt like the Cajun fries i think they were to salty and over seasoned not to happy about the cup they put them in. The decor looks like a boot leg version of in-n-out, i enjoyed my food and the service was good. P.S. they have peanuts while you wait for the food or after i dont know why kinda random in my opinion, we aint elephants. read more

Had Five Guys for the first time today, the burgers are super good, it's refreshing to get something different from the innout burger near us. I thought the fries were good, just make sure you have a drink to wash them down with because they are pretty thick. The staff working were helpful explaining things to us and the cooks seemed to be polite and hard working. Glad we finally gave this place a shot. read more

Worst 5 guys experience ever! I convinced my friends to go here over in-n-out and I feel like an idiot now. I used to WORK at a 5 guys, so I KNOW how it should be. There was NO energy w the employees (no "2 in the door!") and the "fry topper" extra scoop was hardly a half scoop. The cheese wasn't even melted on our burgers! I wanted to say something, but if their management is anything like ours was they'll be monitoring their yelp and posting it in the back. I value this particular location for the dog friendly patio area that is right next to this Five Guys, but the food is too disappointing and I consider 3 stars to be a generous rating. I would come back ONLY if I had someone wanting to eat a lot of peanuts (yes I have people like that in my family) and needed a place to bring the dogs. Despite my strong negatives about this place, they are almost nullified by the location being in a very dog friendly shopping center. There is a large dog friendly patio right next to this Five Guys location and my rating is greatly boosted by the fact that I can bring my dogs here when people from out of town want a burger, noodles, or any other food they can sell you to go and we can all eat what we want at one of these patios, with the dogs. That may be unfair to prop up a restaurant because of a feature that they aren't mainly responsible for, but I will go the extra mile for a good dog friendly patio, especially out here in Redlands where there aren't very many. I really am a sucker for the peanuts and some of my family members would greatly value this feature. Unlike Gladstone's though, you can't just deposit your shells on the floor, but that's a small concession. The cleanliness of the place is good. Parking is ubiquitous. I've been inside Five Guys while exploring the east coast, way before they came to CA and I remember thinking that it's nothing special and not even worthy of spending any money there. My impressions were only validated tonight. Their burger is not worthy of mention with other top tier fast food chain burgers. However, it's not the worst either, so I rate it 2 stars. Their rendition of a veggie burger is a travesty, especially here next to the vegetarian friendly city of Loma Linda. It is basically the same as a regular burger WITHOUT a beef patty or any patty of any kind. You're just paying for bun, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and cheese. That had me laughing out loud to think that I would pay for something like that. This location definitely has to work out the kinks from opening recently. Even though we only ordered 1 burger and fries to go, 2 parties of people who ordered more than us and after us, received their orders before we received ours. I saw people who couldn't follow the directions to the line to order and simply approached the counter to order and surprisingly, the cashiers took them ahead of everyone else! I guess people are too nice out here to say something. I'd come back, but only under my predetermined set of conditions. Price: about $8-$10 per person with burger, fries, soda, and tax. With all the comparisons floating around between In N Out and Five Guys, I had to try, just to form my own independent opinion. I know some people won't like the comparison to In N Out, but hey, I'm sure Five Guys gets twice the business at this location because of that comparison. The infamous Zagat guide starts that comparison by publishing that Five Guys tops In N Out. It made me curious enough to try. That said, I've visited, I've tried, and I'm sorry...the Five Guys is good, but the hype is a little overrated. My first impression of this establishment, walking in the door, is that it was very busy. This was a very hopeful sign of a successful establishment. It was also incredibly crammed with tables in a space that could have easily could afford to be twice the size. The line to the counter was formed with potato sacks of some type. I couldn't help but wonder, with all the people passing and touching these bags of potatoes every day, are these the same potatoes that will end up being served? I'm not really sure if it was for show and atmosphere, or just their attempts at creative storage. On to the ordering. I ordered a Little Hamburger, "All the Way" with A-1 Sauce, my husband ordered the Cheeseburger with jalapenos, green peppers, and onions. We split a regular order of fries, having read on here that the orders were large. The girl who took our order was very nice and efficient. When the food arrived, we took our brown bag, cleaned off a table that had been recently vacated, and took a seat. My little hamburger was pretty decent. I enjoyed it. I agree, the buns are a little weak and don't exactly hold up the entire load of the burger as well, but I didn't leave a single crumb left. My husband's Cheeseburger was interesting. It came with two patties, which was nice, but the patties were two completely different sizes. The one on top was much smaller than the other, leading him to think, "What the heck happened there?" The cheese looked like kraft american singles and weren't even in the least bit melted on the burger, but more of just sitting on top. The fries were indeed plentiful. There were just as many fries in the packed full regular cup as there were dumped in the bag on top of our burgers. But hey, I'll never complain about too many fries! We ate them all. While eating, a staff member came over and asked if we'd like our drinks refilled. A very nice touch. I also observed at least 3 people dig into the box of free peanuts with their hands, rather than using the provided scoop. I can only hope that they had washed their hands recently, but the thought alone made me forego eating any of the peanuts we got. In the end...Five Guys wins on the fries. Their fries beat In N Out plain fries, hand down. However, they do not compete with a tasty order of In N Out animal fries, which I admit, are a guilty pleasure of mine. Five Guys loses to In N Out on burger quality. With the patty inconsistency and the fact the cheese wasn't melted (but more of right out of the wrapper), and the slight bun weakness, it doesn't quite compete. I like Five Guys' expanded options of toppings, but In N Out serves a much more consistently delicious burger. Five Guys also loses on price. It's much more expensive than In N Out. When leaving the restaurant, a couple about to enter asked us how the place was. We gave an honest, "It's okay. It's pretty good", but left it at that. read more

I really like that you can build your own burger here. They have all the basic toppings as well as A-1 steak sauce, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Their cajun fries are amazing! They also offer all of their burgers without the bun. Also, this location has one of those fancy drink machines where you can add flavors to whatever drink you pick. I always get Vanilla Coke! I also would like to applaud their customer service. My bf and I tried using a gift card here once, and it wasn't working. They tried getting it to work for about 5 minutes, but after that they just gave us the card back and comped our meal instead of making us stand there forever. read more

I have been coming to this Five Guys since the first day it Open. I was so excited to know they were opening this one up after becoming so enthralled with their burgers when my son was at Andrews Air Force base in Washington DC. But over time out here this Redlands Five Guys service ha really dropped off. Tonight I came and there was only 3 workers. One at the counter, one flipping burgers, one out on the floor sweeping up. The guy on the grill heard our order and filled a large cajun fries and set it aside. Then continued cooking another order for a customer a head of us. He got him a order of fries at that same time and finished up that order. Then he began on our burgers. We had gone over to the drinks and they were out of several selections. I mention it to the kid that was grilling and he called the gal on floor to see if she knew how to fix the drinks. She acted like she sort of knew and began to look into it. It got busy at the front counter she left the drinks undone to go to help at the front counter. By now that cup of fries had grown cold, he had made some fresh ones that did the fries topper into the bag on top. When we went to eat the fries the fresh ones on top were not done they were soggy and not cooked through. The burgers were excellent and very tastee. But Fries was not up to par on this visit. I don't care to hear a apology from Five Guys Auto Response of Kevin. So if you see that auto response after this just know that is Five Guys way to try to sift the blame and make you think they care... My son and my husband went here on 2/12/2017 . They loved it alot . This place is small and very clean and the girl at the register was very nice and had great customer service . My son ordered a small bacon cheese burger ,he said it was so juicy and so good and yummy and he had fresh cut fries and they were good too .
