This place is open 11am until 10pm 7 days a week. Nice! The best selection of soft drinks in the Inland Empire! Seriously, the regular burger is a 2 patty burger, they offer pretty much every topping that goes on a burger and because every burger is made to order (you must tell them every single topping you want - there is no "standard burger") the food is always hot and fresh. The fries are real potato fries as in cut from the raw potato fresh and a large order of fries is enough for two people to share. I love fries and it is enough to share... You can get in and out with two people for right around $20 so that is nice on the wallet. They have a large outdoor seating area if you prefer eating outdoors. The restrooms are private / single occupancy; and, have been clean on the three occasions that I have been to this restaurant. Let me start by saying I have always loved 5 Guys, but this particular location has changed. I placed an online order for pick up and was given an 8 minute wait time. I get over there within plenty of time to pick up my order and it's not ready yet. No worries, I'm willing to hang out for a few minutes. The young man behind the counter says it's not ready yet and we're waiting in fries. Once again no worries. Then the lady behind the counter hands me my bags. I always open the bag and check the order before I leave. When I did there were approximately 15 French fries in the bag. I asked her if they forgot the rest of my fries and she proceeded to explain to me that they have a new owner and aren't allowed to give out more fries. She then holds up this tiny metal scoop and says this is all they give now. I said , well then I need to order another fry and she says sure I'll ring you up, but she goes back to cooking. After I stand there for a moment she says "I'll get change after they're all done". Well, now there's a line of people. I just decided to leave, but when I get the food back to the office the burgers are burnt, and the lettuce and tomatoes aren't of good quality. It was terrible. If you like your extras (veggies) cooked, make sure you state that.. This is our second time at a 5 guys so we forgot how this works. I asked for the usual extras that I like: jalapeños, onions, tomatoes, etc. When I got my order, everything was raw (except the burger and bread of course).. I guess I got spoiled with the other burger places where things like jalapeños are grilled or just not raw. Raw is not what I expected, lol Other than that it was an alright burger, not too impressed which is I guess the reason we've only been to Five Guys twice in our lifetime. Very disappointed with the food, prices are too high. Spent $80 for a family of 6. They fry the fries in peanut oil, there's no signs before you order your food before you enter the restaurant and employees don't warn you of using peanut oil. After ordering and waiting to pick up the food, my Husband saw the sign by the pick up window. The manager informed us the signs were on the door. The sign does not read they cook with peanut oil. I did enjoy the Cajun fries though, which are a huge portion of fresh fries topped with a mildly spicy cajun mix. Simply put...some of the best, juiciest burgers I've had in a long time. More on that later.. I took a five month hiatus from yelping for a couple of reasons.. but the big one was I simply got tired of some of the 1 to 5 sentence yelp reviews out there slamming a place for vague or singular reasons. I know there are no hard parameters or guidelines to follow when posting on yelp.. but come on people.. take some pride in your reviews! This same reason is why I've come back from my hiatus...to be a good model for how it should be done. Now.. about the place itself. Five Guys is located on the corner of Alabama and Lugonia..right near Citrus Plaza. I'd heard that them and In n Out were consistantly trading the #1 and #2 spot for best burger in the USA..depending on which poll was taken. I wanted to see what the hype was..so I've taken both my wife and my mother to experience the reason for the hype.. The reasons are valid... The menu is simple.. burgers..hot dogs..fries..grilled cheese and a veggie sandwich to cater to the Adventist community. That's about it! There is often beauty in simplicity, my fine droogs. There are also about 15 or more toppings you can order in any combination at no extra charge..making the burgers near infinitely customizable The burgers come in two varieties: Burgers and Little Burgers. The Little Burgers come with one patty and slice of cheese..and the Burgers come with two. Bacon is also available. We've only ordered burgers so far (as opposed to hot dogs) and let me tell you..it doesn't get much better here. Of course...comparisons to In n Out are bound to occur; and whereas In n Out has some of the best fried burgers...Five Guys' grilled patties are better. The beef is flavorful juicy without being heavy or overly greasy. The buns have been described by others as weak or thin. I personally think they are just right! Not too thick that you're going to be chewing forever and filling up..and not too thin. Granted if you order 4 or 6 patties on yer burger..the bun's gonna be an epic fail. But for a single or double they are more than adequate. Couple this with the plethora of toppings and you have something as wonderful as you could make at home. The fries are made from potatoes shipped fresh from various idaho farms..and they list the name of the farm on a board as you approach the ordering counter. A regular order is more than enough two share tween two people..and a large order feeds a family. I did like the fries..though they were crunchy on the outside and a *little* mushy on the inside. They were seasoned and flavorfull..and the Cajun Fries sneak up on you! To address the issue one yelper brought up about them being overly seasoned/salted.. I confronted an employee about this and was told you can order the seasoning "light" or even "on the side" to sprinkle on the fries as you like it. Now about the atmosphere. To the yelper or two who complained that the place was noisy. Really?! This is a hamburger joint! Its a social atmosphere..and when you walk in you see the dynamic work environment the employees are in..working on the orders and calling out to each other. Its almost the same way at In n Out and most other social-oriented places. I mean..seriously...if you want to enjoy a burger in peace you either order it to go or make it at home! The employees were friendly and helpful when we asked them questions. What's also cool is they have boxes of fresh roasted peanuts you are welcome to help yourself to for free to tide you over til your order is ready. Odd, but kinda cool! My main (minor) complaint about the place is the seating. They make good use of the size allotted to them in the restaurant. I mean, the seating is adequate - but I'm not sure they were expecting the place to be as busy as it was the two times I've visited so far. Seating can become...well..challenging when the place is busy. Like one Yelper said - there is outdoor seating available. There is no drive through (nor am I sure if there is a plan to be one), so it does force people to come inside, even for their to-go orders. I see this as a mixed blessing. On one hand, it would alleviate the seating issues (and possibly the "noise" ones as well), but on the other hand - it lets the workers concentrate their time and attention on getting people's orders made in a timely fashion; and made well. Another minor complaint is they don't offer shakes. When I talked to an employee, she said that that's the same way at all Five Guys. All of the drinks are self-serve; which again i suppose makes sense as the workers' attentions don't get divided away from doing what they are doing. The overall operation is very efficient. To conclude.. I love In N Out...I'm a S. Calif native, so it kinda comes with the territory. But as much as I enjoy their food; I've found I like Five Guys better. I don't know why everyone is comparing this place to In N Out. It should be reviewed and "ranked" on its own, not in comparison to another establishment. The atmosphere is noisy and cramped. The noise level didn't bother me too much though, as most places in the IE are loud at lunch. The place does have too many chairs and tables, and the layout of them is poor as they are all long tables and there are very few tables that seat four or less people. Placing a highchair is awkward too because you can really only put it in the aisle which is small enough as it is. The burgers were great! The meat was juicy, but not as flavorful as I thought it was going to be. The buns were good but squished and all the toppings, especially the grilled onions were delish. I would use fresh mushrooms though, I'm pretty sure they were canned. But the. urgers were still very good and fresh. Fries were very tasty!! And the portion size was immense (for a regular). Wish they had ranch for them though... Menu is a little misleading, regular burgers should say they are doubles and littles, singles and the menu says they only have five different drinks when they have over ten. Customer service was above and beyond. They did a great job and were very friendly and helpful. Zero complaints on customer service. Easily 5 stars! My experience with 5 guys have been strange. I , like others, have heard so much about 5 guys. Everyone says it is so good. Some people say it is even better then In-N-Out. I enjoy a good cheese burger, so with all the talk decided I wanted to go. My wive travels alot and told me that people at work talk about 5 guys alot, but on a business trip to Texas (I think it was Texas) she tried it and was not impressed. She warned me not to go and told me I will not like it. 1st Visit: The first time I went I thought all the peanuts around the area was a bit much. I wasn't a fan, but only because it makes me feel like cleaning. lol. Anyway, I ordered the Cheese Burger with everything (minus pickels) and fries. I was not empressed with the burger. It didnt have much taste. All the toppings didnt help either. The fries, though you get alot of them, was only so so. I didnt like the food, but because I was also preoccupied with other things in the day, I decided that I would give them another try and give them my full attention. 2nd Visit: Decided to go again, this time a Double Cheese Burger with Bacon, fries... Again burger didnt have much taste. Fries were a bit better at first but when they got cold it was like eating uncooked fries. At this point I decided I wouldn't go back ever!! 3rd Visit: A friend of mine told me that 5 guys have Cajun Fries. I decided I would go back one last time... Because Cajun is an aquired taste!!! But because they are fried so fast they are not cooked all the way through and when they get cold they get soft and taste really bad. When you are cooking fries from fresh cut potatoes they have to be soaked first to get rid of the starch. These fries are not and the quality suffers. I cook fries at home on occasion and I was having the same problem, looked it up online and the issue was the starch. If they would at least season the burger patties they would taste so much better. I actually go back from time to time and do just that. But everytime I do I keep think why do I have to do something they should be doing. I had heard amazing things about Five Guys so I was excited to hear that they had opened one locally. I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions, lettuce, ketchup, mayo and pickles. I also got a regular size order of fries with it. Both the burger and the order of fries were HUGE. I'm a big guy and I can handle a lot of food, but I couldn't finish all of the fries. As far as quantity goes, you definitely get what you pay for. Quality, I didn't really feel like I was getting my moneys worth. The burger was definitely juicy, as they advertised. However, it was so juicy the bun was soggy and causing the burger to fall apart. Not the easiest thing to eat. Upon closer inspection, the juiciness appeared to be from the meat being especially fatty and under cooked. The quality of the meat in general wasn't the greatest. The fries were average and plentiful. In all, I didn't have a bad experience. However, I feel that if you are paying $12+ for a burger, fries and drink, the quality should be much higher. I went to Five Guys and I was sooooo disappointed. ...disappointed that I now have to abandon my fervent loyalty to In'N'Out. I've always said that In'N'Out is the burger against all others should be judged. I'll do that no longer. Five Guys, although slightly more expensive, simply serves a better burger. I like the at patty is more like a backyard barbeque, and the cheese is higher quality. The variety of toppings is awesome. The grilled mushrooms and peppers alone make it a better value than In'N'Out. I like the fries (skins intact) and peanuts, too. The only ingredient that I found inferior to In'N'Out was the tomatoes. In'N'Out always sources ripe, flavorful tomatoes, and Five Guys had flavorless, unripe garbage tomatoes. I was so looking forward to trying this place and sadly I was so underwhelmed by it. What I liked: It was really packed but our service was good. Despite the long lines we got a table pretty quickly. They have an impressive selection of fountain beverages.The regular fries were good. I like thick cut fries. What disappointed: The burger itself was nothing special. I got a bacon cheeseburger. It really tasted like a burger I could make at home for a lot cheaper. The bacon was really overcooked and not very good. The buns were very flimsy, totally falling apart. Meh. It's not bad, it's just not all that good. As far as I can tell this place started out on the East Coast, and it's probably the best thing out there. We've had In-N-Out for decades out here though. A place like Five Guys just doesn't make sense where In-N-Out exists. After trying their food, which is all tasty and fresh, I just can't justify in my head paying at least $3 more for a burger, fries, and drink that I don't like as much. I'm sure there's people that like Five Guys burgers more, but to me In-N-Out's taste fresher and are more well put together. The risky marketing plan to claim supremacy over in-n-out will get sales in short term, but will bite 5 guys in the buns once people find it is an average burger place. Some burger restaurateurs insist on many options, but to be honest ordering a burger felt like answering a survey questionnaire ... just want a burger. You do get a lot of fries, but they are not very good (bland and a cooking oil like taste). After getting shellacked for 11 dollars, the tasteless fries felt like a loss more than a new experience. The burger was ok, better than some (McDonald's & Burger King) but not in-n-out. . . just not the case. 5 guys is worth a visit, but overall value is not worth the price. I've had five guys on both coasts now and I am still not impressed. The array of toppings for the burger sounds tempting but add more than two and you've got yourself a burger smoothie: the colder ingredients make the meat lukewarm (not sure how that happens because in-n-out uses fresh cold ingredients and their patties and cheese will still sometimes burn my tongue when I bite in); the bun and patty usually end up falling apart after a few bites; finally the unseasoned beef tastes rather bland and joyless. If you're looking for topping options go to fatburger. I do have to say that their seasoned fries are great and much more thoroughly cooked than in-n-out fries that turn soggy in a few minutes out of the fryer so props for that. Finally, for the cost, I would have expected a much better burger. One word, meh. I've heard a lot of good things about this chain and I was really expecting a lot better. I went on opening night so they were almost certainly unpracticed. Hamburger: Comes with 2 patties standard which is cool. They have a lot of options for toppings including mushrooms and jalapenos which I can also appreciate. The burger was just adequate though. I'll admit the patty was pretty good, but the limiting reagent as it were was the bun. The bun is a wimpy mess. Pfft, loser ..." I KNOW! I would have agreed with you before I had this burger with the most anemic bun ever. And while I liked the idea of having a variety of toppings, it really didn''t pan out. Four of the five guys should have focused on making a decent bun methinks. Cajun Fries: These really saved the whole place from 1 star. They were pretty tasty, I didn't even want to use ketchup. They're a good balance of fluffy and crispy. Didn't try the regular fries though. Soda: Worth mentioning because they have Vault at the soda fountain. I'm a fan of Surge soda, so any place that has Vault gets some props from me. They also didn't get my order correct the first time, though they were more than happy to fix it ASAP. While I understand this restaurant's approach with having bigger burgers and large portions of fries, I don't really WANT larger portions of anything if their burgers are on par with hospital cafeteria burgers. Tried it for the first time today and here's my verdict: I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with two patties, small fry and drink. The fries were thick cut and a little bland. Not the best, not the worst. The burger was good. It was what I expect in a good burger, average diameter, melted cheese and a little grease. Very tasty. Staff was very friendly. This is for the San Bernardino Location which doesnt appear on yelp yet...... heard this place was better than in n out....... well 2 cheeseburgers two fries and 2 small drinks. 24.70.....disappointing prices. Ate the cheeseburger with everything on it, hoping for flavor.... disappointing at best... the staff is friendly, entergetic, happy, the building seems to be a half knock off of in n out.... coke machine is pretty cool , but you are paying a nice premium to use it... sad to say, this joint hasn't a clue on how good in n out is... :( read more

Their burgers are juicy and flavorful. I love that you can have any topping at no extra cost. However, I dislike the price on the burgers and how all food items are 'a la carte'. Granted the fries are served in huge portions, but it would be cooler if they just had a $6 meal with burger fries and drink. The ambiance was busy and loud because they blasted the music. The employee had a hard tine hearing our order so I felt like I had to yell in there. Overall, the food tastes great and we LOVE the free peanuts. But I dislike the 'a la carte' style menu. Individuals with peanut allergies beware: They serve loose peanuts in open containers and their french fries are fried in peanut oil. Disclaimer aside, I hit up Five Guys yesterday because, as a So Cal girl, I was born and raised loving In-N-Out and I heard that some people think this place is better than In-N-Out... To which I can only say... pssshhhh. I ordered a single bacon cheeseburger, and while it was good (and no, it might not be fair to compare to In-N-Out since they don't offer bacon cheeseburgers), it honestly didn't compare to In-N-Out at all. The burger patty itself was flavorful, but that's the only positive thing I can say about the burger as a whole. The hamburger bun fell apart a little more with every bite. The bacon was overdone and the cheese wasn't melted enough. The "grilled" onions were still raw. The sliced tomato was stringy. I did get a massive amount of fries. I don't quite understand the point of stuffing the fries into a little 8oz Dixie cup when really, my greasy to-go bag was literally half-full of fries. And they were cooked well, but I wasn't a fan of the peanut oil flavoring, which stood out despite the fact that I salted my fries. Didn't finish them. Couldn't have if I wanted to... three people could have shared those fries. Bottom line: I paid $10.96 for a bacon cheeseburger, an order of fries and a small drink. It was worth a try but I won't head back unless someone else is footing the bill. Oh, and In-N-Out is better (and cheaper!). read more
