My first time at Five Guys. I saw a poor homeless person with horrible scoliosis outside of Home Depot and I decided to buy him some lunch. I walked into Five Guys and ordered a burger and fries. There were 8 workers behind the counter, double the number of customers in the shop. Most just stood around. They can see that my order was ready to go. But no one cared enough to move that bag 10 feet to the customer. I didn't eat the burger. But all I can say is, no $25 burger and fries is that good for me to want to go back. read more

Eating at other burger joints only remind me why In-N-Out Burger is still my favorite hamburger place. Five Guys is much more expensive than In-N-out as well. However I didn't feel like waiting in line so decided to go to Five Guys instead. I ordered the Little Cheeseburger and Little fries which were anything but little. It filled me up plenty and then some. However, the burger came out a little bit too soggy from the patty juice and it tasted a bit underwhelming considering all the free add-ons and freshness of the patty. It was far too greasy and my stomach is feeling the unfortunate effects of it. I haven't been to a Five Guys in at least 10 years; I had temporary memory loss about my experience. Since my mom had never been there, i figured we should give it a shot. Well, this was a situation of good news/bad news: Good news - 1. French fries were piping hot, fresh, and had the perfect amount of salt. And there were LOTS of them! 2. My burger was made with the items as ordered. Bad news - 1. Burger had NO seasoning. It could've been a great burger if it had salt. 2. My mom specifically said "no pickles," but somehow that translated to adding then to the order. We were the only customers, which meant this guy didn't listen. He also missed the tomatoes she actually requested. Fortunately, I saw them putting her burger together, caught the error, and the staff fixed it before we got it. 3. I realize prices are going up but, since my last visit, the cost has doubled. We ordered two "little" burgers, "little" fries, and a "little/regular" drink. The total was $26. Sticker shock for sure! These appear to be decent size burgers by measuring around it. However, they are "little" by weight and definitely in taste too. There's better bang for buck at a bar. Just a huge disappointment. So, when all is said and done, IF we go back, and it's not high on the list, I'm in it for the fries only. read more

By far the WORST service of Five Guys I've experienced. On 4/2 around 3:20pm the male clerk was either high as a kite or untrained. He could not manage the dedicated line for customers and continuously allowed people to cut in from the left (his right). Disappointing, over priced, and just not good, we placed a carry out order because we remembered the five guys had a pretty solid burgers and that's what we were craving a few nights ago. The cost of the burgers are not justified at all. The Cajun fries that I've had before in previous years were delicious however, this time it was nothing but Cajun seasoning and you couldn't even taste the fry at all. I definitely have to say that they are much better choices in the local area for a burger that is quality and has flavor and the fries are not overwhelmingly disgusting with seasoning. Unfortunately this was less than my Five a Guys Standards being that it's a family favorite. Three people inside plus my daughter and I. The soda machine stayed out of coke after my three pleas for them to fill it or refund me. The two other folks eating were employees and got their food first as well as hung out with other employees while we waited for our food and soda. We waited for 23 minutes before I bothered them and we still didn't have our soda lol we weren't in a hurry, just more annoyed than anything. Not our regular location so whatever. But my goodness. Totally different from one location to the next and that's probably a downside to being privately owned. I also do love the peanuts that they give you. It makes the waiting so much easier. Although sometimes I do find myself stuffing myself with a peanuts to the point where I'm too full to finish my burger. The customer service also is good here. I remember one time they messed up my order and the manager offered me a 20 dollar voucher for my next visit as well as fixing my order. Five years ago, I tried their burger in Point Loma when it first opened and now this is only my second time having another burger from Five Guys. A friend of mine wanted to meet for lunch and chose this place, which was convenient for me since it was minutes from my work. My coworker and friend both got the regular burger, which comes with two patties! I decided on the little burger, large Cajun fries, and an Oreo milkshake. They have a variety of toppings for no extra charge, so you can choose them to your liking. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put the amount of calories of each item on the menu, because it made me feel like a pig LOL. While waiting for our food to be ready, I got some of the complimentary peanuts to share with everyone. Everything was so tasty and fresh!! I forgot how good their burger is. The fries were very flavorful as well, but some of them were a little too salty. The fries overflowed into the bag, so we essentially got twice as much fries. The milkshake was really creamy and not too thick, so I was able to suck it up without using a spoon. Burgers and fries are super heavy. Meaning after you eat it your body just feels physically heavy. Too much oil is what I'm thinking. They don't even use real cheese. They use Kraft "cheese" slices. Okay well they have the option of a regular burger, cheeseburger, or bacon cheeseburger, which is big enough to feed two regular people. OR you can go with the "little" versions of these burgers, which is more like a regular burger. Their ingredients are fresh, the burger patties are juicy, and you can use any combination of toppings. And not to mention their fries are literally double sized of what you normally get because they're known for overfilling the fries cup, which is pretty awesome and you can't never complain about extra fries?! Got food here today, one the service is extremely slow it wasn't busy when we walked in and it took a half hour to get the food. We waited time on the shake. I got lettuce and green pepper on my burger both were not fresh the lettuce was very obviously bad as it was turning black. As I wrote this review I got to the bottom of my milkshake and I honestly can't tell what is on the bottom of the cup, it is either a burn mark, mold or chocolate it does not come off when I scrape whatever it is with my straw. read more

The great thing about Five Guys is you can customize your burger however you would like from the list their available toppings. You can also order any topping on the side if you want to try something but aren't 100% sure about it. The burgers are very tasty and I have never had a problem with my order. My burger is always perfectly cooked and topped just the way I want it. The fries are amazing and I love them with the cajun seasoning. If you want to split your fries but not everyone wants cajun seasoning, get the seasoning on the side and shake it with the fries in a bag. They come out great! All of our kids got to eat warm burgers that were brought out almost all at the same time. They had enough seating to accommodate for all of us to be seated, and everyone had a great time!
