Eh it's a pretty decent burger a bit overpriced i think. When i was in Vegas, i loved the burger i had, mushroom, swiss, grilled onions, Jalapeños. This time i ordered something similar, i can't remember what exactly but i know i was a mushroom burger with grilled onions and jalapeños and you know what it was just okay, not great like the one i had in vegas. The problem is the same that i have with all locations and the franchise as a whole; there are no standard burgers to order, so each time you order one and choose from their many toppings you cant remember what worked or didn't work last time. Is it better with or with out mayo or mustard or ketchup? Who knows? It would be much easer to order (and for workers to take your order) by saying mushroom burger add jalapeños and grilled onions, no mustard, instead of ordering each item one by one. With that said i can't determine if i didn't like the burger as much as the one in vegas because i did or didn't have the right combination of toppings or if they just did not make a good burger. Sometimes too much choice is not a good thing, just make a menu of burgers that you know taste good and then people can sub things out or in if they like. I do love their cajun fries though, i like how they put a scoop in the cup, then add another scoop in the bag too.. thats great! Once again I was in the mood for a burger and decided on Five Guys...well I was not disappointed. I had a cheeseburger with bacon and Cajun fries. This was the first time I had the double burger and it was so large I had to cut it in quarters. This double patty was juicy, cooked perfectly and delicious. I had it all the way with everything except the kitchen sink. The mushrooms, bacon and jalapenos just added another level of flavor. It was not greasy, bland or overcooked. In addition, I had the Cajun fried which basically were regular fried with seasoning to add to the fries. I must say I am a fan of these fries. The seasoning added flavor above just salt and pepper. Five Guys is one of my favorite burger joints in San Diego. I frequent this location since it's near my work and you can be in and out in about 30-45 minutes. What I like about their burgers: - Made to order - Quality ingredients - They don't skimp on the toppings - Juicy and flavorful patty The Cajun fries are really good but may be a tad salty for some people. This place is great. You can customize your burger however you want it with no extra charge!!! The patty itself taste amazing. Super fresh. Super flavorful. Not too salty/oily. They use a sesame bun which I think is the best choice when it comes to burgers. The large Cajun fries is pretty big which you can share between 3-4 ish people. I've been to a few Five Guys, up in the Seattle area, but this is my first one in San Diego. The employees here seem like a really fun group. They do a cute yell/song when people walk in. And they were all filled with a real positivity on my visit today. I enjoy the burgers, and love that you get all the additions on them, free of charge. The only thing I don't like is that they have American cheese, and no other option. If you don't want a two party burger, I recommend that you order the little burger. I forgot about that, and ended up with way to big of a burger. Their fries are great, especially when you add the malt vinegar to them. And last, but definitely not least..... they have those awesome soda machines, where you can mix and make over 100 flavors of soda. Kasey K was the cashier and I had called into her to take my order and ordered my usual that I've been ordering for over a year. She had an attitude when I asked for a bottle of sprite which I order every time she said that's only for delivery orders with an attitude. I just asked what has changed that I can't have a bottle anymore then she puts me on hold without saying anything then comes back a minute later after me wondering if she just hung up on me or not then she said we will do it for you this one time but never again it's only for deliveries. My family used to eat here a few times a month but it's really gone downhill fast lately. First you better call before you go over there because they have strange hours that are inconsistent. The sign on the door regularly changes and they are often late opening, sometimes up to 15 min. They also don't have the store stocked or ready when they open. Last time we went everything but ginger ale was blacked out on the coke machine, yet they weren't telling customers who were ordering drinks. There was a line of people waiting for the manager to refund them. How can you have a coke machine that offers 50+ drinks and be out of everything but one. Yes it was tastey, and fresh, but make sure you hold the bottoms of the brown bag, that grease trap might give out. I ordered a large cheeseburger with selected toppings (a few in which didn't make it on my burger so I had to ask again) the burger was freshly made which is a plus, but I can't stress how greasy it was, Dab with a napkin greasy. Kasey, the manager, was freaking spectacular! Postmates dropped the ball on one of our orders, I called in and without hesitation she made sure we got our food. We weren't expecting a free meal, but she made sure we got comped for the inconvenience. The best part, actually extremely touching from a guy who runs his own business was how quick her team was to defend her. I told them that I was going to post a review and they thought it was going to be a bad review because of our experience but she made it all better. I know everyone loves Five Guys, but I don't see anything special about it. The burgers are so/so the prices are high and I'm not really impressed with the service. Of all the locations I've been to, this one has by far been the worst in terms of service. The last time I was here I had to tell the guy five times grilled onions then he would hit grilled mushrooms, I would correct him then he'd do it again. When I got my burger it had mushrooms not grilled onions. When I said something he said, yeah you told me grilled mushrooms. He did the same thing to the guy ordering behind me. Shakes have been unavailable two separate times, the app has been consistently flaky so tonight I called in the order, and this is now the second time they got the order wrong. Ordered a bacon hamburger with bbq and got a cheeseburger. There was no description on receipt for two of the burger either, so not sure how that happened. I did not know anything about Five Guys until several years ago when my friend introduced me to Five Guys at the La Jolla near UTC. Two things I will always remember Five Guys. The first one is the peanuts that they have free to snack on with purchase. The other one is their infamous calorie count for their food especially their cajun fries. According to them, having a regular cheeseburger is 840 calories and cajun style fries is 953 calories for a whopping total of 1793(source: http://www.fiveguys.com/Menu). Add a drink and you will get close to the 2000 mark. Talk about a lot of calories in one setting. Now to the review of this location. We were here on August 2, 2017 at around 19:00. We had "Five guys" counting me the day before, but my friend chose Dickey's instead. Anyways, I only had 2 friends with me that were slightly bitter about not coming here so we returned here. The lady who rung our order was patient, there was no one in line. I ordered a hamburger with everything on it while my friend did the same for cheeseburger with everything on it. We also ordered the cajun fries large size and three regular drinks. Total came out to be $38.07. They will put a number on the burger wrapper indicating which one it is. The order they do it is by the ordering number. So my friends ordered a cheeseburger and I was last to order, so my burger had a sticker of number 3. The hamburger I had is good and fresh. I like their cajun fries, but this time the fries are a bit too salty. They put too much seasoning on it, but the portion is huge. They give you about the size of 2 drink cups. Be warned that the fries are very greasy, you can see it in the bag, in your hands. Even the things I touched were greasy. They had the nice drinking fountain that seems to be the norm for a lot of food places where it is touch screen based. The peanuts that we had is okay, some peanuts are good and some were a bit on the stale side. I can not complain about it since it was not included on the purchase price, but it is great to snack on while waiting. The service is good. The cashier was patient and the utensils were laid out there for you to help yourself. Thank goodness there was a restroom I can use to wash off my hands because it is messy. I also saw the cashier clean and wipe tables during the downtime. That is one hard working cashier. TL;DR: I had a great meal here at Five Guys. Their service was good, clean, and fast. I probably will ask for them to put less seasoning next time, but overall I can not complain about this location. read more

Never again! Waited 20 minutes for a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Both were lukewarm and soggy and the bacon was burnt. If I had taken it to go it probably would have been a cold mess and chucked in the garbage. Nobody eating there seemed happy and after my $11 failure I can see why. Even before coming here, I've heard the comparisons to In-N-Out. Well, I refuse to say that this place is better considering I'm a SoCal girl who throughout the course of life, have had many combinations of In-N-Out. From animal style, to protein, double double with a sides of fries and that damn chocolate milk shake. So to me, nothing can compare to that, especially with that famous sauce! Mmmmm! I will say, that given that I've been ordering lettuce wrap style burgers more regularly, that the free offerings of additional veggie toppings are a plus for these 'guys'! Mushroom, jalapeño, onions, etc. all add to the extra bite and make choosing Paleo-friendly dining that much easier and tastier for me.
