My wife, oldest son and I enjoyed lunch at Five Guys yesterday. We typically go to the Fremont location. On this visit we were greeted warmly and found a table to enjoy our lunch. My wife and I ordered a Lil Cheeseburger, our son had a Cheeseburger, we shared a regular order of Cajun Fries and we also had regular sodas. The Cheeseburgers were tasty and we always enjoy the Cajun Fries. The Cajun Fries were seasoned properly and tasted very good. Their Fremont location gives you more fries, than what we got, but they were still good. I always enjoy adding Jalapeños to my Lil Cheeseburger. It gives the burger an extra kick. I like that you can customize your burger with your favorite toppings too. The restaurant was quiet and the other customers were enjoying their food. Parking is plentiful and close by. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. read more

It's hard to go wrong with any Five Guys location. This one is no exception. The fries were delightfully salty, and there was a few extra in the bag, as you'd expect. The burger was delicious as well, even if it was extremely messy. My only real complaint was that the service was a bit slow. But that aside, it's a great place to stop and grab a burger. read more

A solid Five Guys spot in San Jose to appease any burger craving. I always have to remember to get the mini burgers since they only have 1 patty. I usually mistakenly get the regular burger with 2 patties haha. We were greeted by friendly staff and the grill master was definitely overzealous in getting our orders ready. I always get everything knit with the grilled onions and mushrooms. The burger was juicy and filled to the brim with all the deliciousness I can expect. I always appreciate the peanuts as we wait. Camden location is going downhill. Ordered food online; 3 out of 4 burgers were wrong! Soggy lettuce and soggy, wet buns, not the stuff of great burgers. Oh...and their large fries have shrunk. The place was empty, 3 other people in the store (a gentleman fingering the peanuts, yuk) so why they weren't able to get my order right, I do not know. Will think twice before going back. read more

Simple burger menu here, with some additional options like swapping the bread for lettuce, similar to In n Out. The burger itself is not much to write home about, I also tried the patty melt and it was alright as well. In general, I find Five Guys burgers to be pretty bland and almost always cold by the time I get it, and more expensive than In N Out burgers, but also not at the gourmet burger level. The fries from Five Guys are pretty good - always a hearty portion size and flavored well (especially when compared to In n Out). Not my first choice for a burger, but okay for fries. Staff is usually pretty attentive when you arrive for pick up, but sometimes less so when they are busy. Free peanuts if that's your thing. Parking is easy here since this is located in a large shared parking lot for the plaza. read more

With the power outage that happened due to the storm, a handful of restaurants were closed and luckily, five guys was open late night after my son's tournament got out. He was starving, and since this particular place had a lettuce wrap due to my celiac/gluten issues, I was happy to get a burger since I hadn't had anything since lunch! There were a handful of highschoolers also, in this plaza, I think the crumble next door attracts more students. This plaza has some questionable people in it, I think some of the unhoused lived nearby, but everything looked clean, and World Cup. The idea of open peanuts grossed me out since I am a germ-a-phobe! Hahaha I've always thought those grab free-for-all bins were dirty. So the fact that I could walk by and sneeze on these peanuts and then somebody else could get some for free just creeps me out. Lol. Nevertheless, the burgers were great, and we got our order and french fries in a timely matter. The only thing I would say is that the french fries were incredibly greasy and had a little bit too much salt. I don't favorite salt, so maybe I'm just picky. Service has really gone downhill for pickup orders. This is the newest 5 Guys around. The inside is very nice and the employees keep it clean. The employee taking my order was friendly. Not sure if this is now true for all the 5 Guys but... they have green peppers now and you can get them grilled or fresh. I ordered the regular 2 patties with bacon and cheese and added grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, BBQ sauce, grilled mushrooms and grilled peppers. This thing was so darn big I could that I had to get a fork and knife "no joke" and as usual I get a small fry... I think it's a running joke with all the 5 guys, they will toss in a super small cup with like 2 French fries in it and them unload a whole basket of fries in da bag!!! Yum!!! I feel like Five Guys has really stepped up their game over the past 6 months or so. I haven't rated this location until now but I truly believe the greasy-ness of their burgers has come down quite a bit. For the most part, all Five Guy burgers taste the same but I was especially happy with my latest burger! My bf also agreed that we didn't experience the normal "heavy" greasiness we experienced in the past. We ordered in store for take out and they were quick and made our order accurate. So Five Guys was my favorite for Burgers and Fries but I am no longer impressed. At the beginning of COVID they were actually on the ball and the food being delivered was good. But in the last several months it hasn't been good at all and there has been a complete lack of attention to quality control. Out of the last five or six times we have ordered delivery from them they haven't even bothered to include the drinks. It's incredibly annoying. Even pre COVID it was an issue from time to time. The people behind the counter would rush and throw your food at you and take off without asking if you needed anything else or checking that they had given you everything. There were a few occasions where I would have to stand there waiting for a while because they rushed away so fast and I wasn't able to get their attention. Then I would have to flag them down to ask for the bottled sodas I had ordered and they would seem annoyed at me even though it was their error. Now this lack of attention to detail and quality control has creeped over into the food. The fries that were once tasty aren't anymore. They are either dripping in grease or not seasoned at all or both. The burgers that had a good flavor and were juicy are now just little smushed pucks of tasteless meat. If you ask for condiments it's either drenched in your condiment of choice or you can hardly find it. There is no in between. I did the grilled cheese once and it was actually pretty decent so I tried it again recently and the cheese wasn't even melted. They had just cooked it enough to toast the bread and even burn it a bit. The shakes are even made poorly now. I usually order the malt in my shakes and the last one I ordered had huge chunks of it so that you couldn't even use a straw or one would get stuck in it. I have given them multiple chances since the first bad order. Holding out and hoping it was just a bad day but nope. They are now consistently cranking out bad food and bad service. So I guess it's time for me to give up on this one sadly. read more

I've lived in San Jose for eight years and somehow managed to not get a Five Guys burger until yesterday ( likely because most of the fast food I eat is " after hours" and J in the B is open 24/7...) This burger was delicious. Since it was my first time I obviously went for the bacon cheese burger with everything on it and fries and a shake. It was great. The American cheese a classic indulgence and a nice touch. Because I got all the toppings and my fiancé held the onions - I had an interesting observation: my burger fell apart and was a mess while his stayed together. As much as I love grilled onions- next time I might skip them just for ease of eating. It was a very significant difference. The fries are amazinggggg. I mean fried potatoes are proof of god himself, but these were particularly good. I knocked off a star though because two burgers and a shake cost 30 bucks. I've passed by this burger place many times but haven't gone in. This time I decided to try Five Guys again. I had eaten their sandwich at another location a long time ago and did not have much of an impression. I ordered the veggie cheese sandwich with extra lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled jalapeños. Their basic veggie sandwich is actually quite fresh and healthy. I chose to add cheese and some other things. I also could not hold back getting some fries. The sandwich turned out to be very simple but refreshing. You don't feel like you are eating a loaded brick because they don't add any sauce unless you specifically pick something like mustard or mayo. The portion was great with the extra vegetables I added and the small fries almost seemed like a medium or large fries. With a decent price, a fresh taste, simple ingredients, an amazingly nice staff, and great fries, I'll definitely be back, but maybe not quite as often as I think.
