I wanted to love this place -- perfectly conveniently placed next to TJ's, passed the parking lot test with flying colors (it was packed), timely food service... but then I got my burger home and encountered a big ole curly black hair in my burger in my second bite (I'm a blonde). Eww. Hair nets, guys? Also, notwithstanding the hair, I would have appreciated knowing that a regular hamburger came with 2 patties, not one. Maybe it was posted but I didn't see it. 2 patties is a lot of beef for 1 girl (though my cat was happy for the unexpected treat). All in all, I still like In n Out. read more

I came here for dinner the other day with family. Truth be told, I'd had better burgers before and they didn't cost that much. I liked the customer service though. Five guys (a burger restaurant) IS worth the money. I recommend Five Guys. No fillers, free toppings, grilled onions, mushrooms,real jalapeno peppers etc and they even make their burgers and hot dogs bunless, wrapping it in fresh lettuce. They are delicious. This review is for the asian girl cook working mother's day around 1pm. I was getting napkins when I heard my order being called and I saw my order on the counter. I went to grab it then the cook came out of nowhere and said "No. That's not yours" and proceeded to grab it out of my hand. Like ok...what? Have some manners. And I told her that I was mistaken because they called my number and my milkshake was on the counter. But no she grabbed it out of my hand and said "no that's not yours. It's mine." And she walked out of the store with it without another word. Five guys really? Hire more compassionate and kind workers. My double cheeseburger was soggy and wet and everything fell off the bun. Fries were OKay but a once great burger ended up soupy.

As soon as I saw the sign up in the Plant a month or so ago and was excited for the arrival. I had heard about this place and finally tried it last night. The line was long but moved fast enough, I ordered a Cheesburger and large fries which was shared with my friend. I didn't get too crazy with toppings cause I wanted to taste the burger. It did take a little while to get the food but there was some great people watching to be had. I did take advantage of the free peanuts but it was a little sketchy that they were in a box on top of the trash can. When we got the food it was hot, no complaints about any of it that I could find. I won't get into the Five Guys vs. In-n-Out debate cause they are completely different. This place has more of an East Coast vibe if that makes sense. I'll go back for sure. read more

Five guys is simple the best burger and fries i have had in the country. i've never had a bad burger there. In till Five guys i thought In-n-Out burger was the best i have had. its still great but, i think Five guys is fresher more tasty burger. i could site on here for weeks and put the same review up for each location i've been to.For Burger and fries yes its a little pricey. but for the volume of food its well worth it. i would much rather spend a few extra bucks for more good food than eat for less and the food be bad. Just FYI a regualr sized burger at Five Guys is a double and a small burger is a single pattie. there burgers are so big its hard to eat the whole thing and a order of fries. whats not to love about a place you can get your burger any way you like and get fries cut fresh cooked to order . be sure and check out any and every Five Guys. read more

The burgers here are pretty good. Good choice of toppings. Fries are okay, not great. In-n-Out fries are by far better. Didn't really like the layout of the store, peanuts everywhere. Customer service was good. There was no more tables but a worker cleaned clean one up for us. The Plant is a great location for this place. Good addition to a great plaza. I'll drop by again some other time to try their other choices. Drop by again. Second time was better. The bacon cheeseburger was so good. A perfect burger combination when you get to choose exactly what you want as toppings. Bacon is extra crispy which is a plus. Jalapenos tasted weird for jalapenos (more like regular peppers). Recommend grill mushrooms and onions with mayo. Had a bite of my friends hot-dog, which was also good. Not much of a hot-dog person but it tasted great for a hot-dog. Everything is fresh. Still not a fan of their fries but they're okay. The store was cleaner this time. Probably because it was less packed. Downturn of this place is the line. It always seems to be packed with people. This place has got to serve one of the BEST burger's I've ever tried. It's cool because you get to pick your toppings, so of course you're gonna like it! The burgers are huge and I think they are better than In-n-Out, but only by a bit. The only thing that keeps them from getting five stars is the fries. They are kinda bland, even the Cajun ones. But if you want a great big burger and don't care about the calories, go for the Bacon Cheeseburger (beware because they come with two meat patties, the "small" ones come with one). read more

Negatives: -Not into that junior high cafeteria feel -wondering if free peanuts on top of the trash can is a health code violation? Or even remotely appetizing? -cost -jeez I could've grabbed two double-doubles for the cost of one of their two patty burgers. A buddy and I ate there and the bill was $24, we could've had the same thing at In-n-Out for $13 and change. -no drive thru -fries are terrible. Tried regular and the hot/spicy. The hot/spicy was beyond weak. Random orange powder seems more like a marking than a spice. I liked the large selection of toppings that were available (mushrooms, grilled onions, jalapeno, green peppers to name a few) at no additional charge. Went here after hearing about it's comparisons to In-N-Out for years. I originally intended on taking it to go, but some reviews here warned about the burger and fries turning soggy on the drive home so I ended up eating at the restaurant. I ordered a little cheeseburger, regular fries and a drink. This is what really turned me off. The total came to over 9 dollars for the above 3 items. I'm sorry but that's just unreasonable for fast food and to make the inevitable comparison, an equal portioned meal at In-N-Out is around 5-6 bucks. I'm glad I didn't go for the bigger cheeseburger although I would have enjoyed a little more. Now, the food: the burger was actually very good, much better than what I was expecting. I got it with everything, and certain toppings like the grilled mushrooms really added to the overall flavor. Like I said, after finishing the little cheeseburger I wish I had more to eat. The fries were OK. I like that they provide malt vinegar to sprinkle on top which definitely improved the taste. I would prefer them to be crispier, though I'm not sure if you can request that or not. The staff here seemed to be on their feet constantly, making the wait time pretty short considering the long line. They seemed genuinely happy and alert, much like the employees at In-N-Out. This was nice to see. A fairly enjoyable experience, good burger, but the prices will hold me off from coming back for a while. read more

My aunt bought me to five guys for lunch on my birthday. It was my first time trying it so I didnt know what to expect. This is a fantastic burger, especially for a fast-food type of joint. Price is a little more toward the high end of a fast-food type burger but still cheaper than the gourmet (e.g. Red Robin), but the quality is first rate. It may have something to do with it being pretty much *just* a burger joint. No chicken sandwiches or fish sandwiches or BBQ Western Alternate History Baby Seal Supremes -- just burgers (and hot dogs and grilled cheese, I think). The toppings are choose-your-own-adventure, pile-them-on, with only cheese and bacon drawing extra charges. (With as many other things as you can have, you will hardly miss cheese or bacon here.) Of extra interest to me is that I first approached this place with some trepidation, since I have a significant allergy to peanuts and these folks have free peanuts in the shell for customers to snack on while waiting and their fries are cooked in big vats of peanut oil. For me it's like walking into a house of poison... yet... they do a good job segregating all that peanut from their burger prep and cooking space. I've eaten numerous burgers and not once suffered a peanut allergic reaction (and I'm pretty sensitive) -- so kudos there. It speaks to how clean and precise these folks are overall that I can even eat there! I don't even see how people can mention In n Out in the same sentence with these guys. Five Guys makes a burger superior to pretty much any burger that isn't a really solid gourmet burger. $5 gets you a solid double burger with any topping combo w/o bacon or cheese -- you better come hungry if you want to eat much more than that. I love that they serve everything fresh and cooked when ordered. Plus you get a great choice of toppings. But it really comes down to how you like your burgers. Five Guys is definitely the mushy, soggy type since they don't toast the buns and the tomatoes and lettuce aren't very dry when they add them in. This place is great. I remember when they first came out and I was one of the first customers. I was skeptical at first, but when I took the first bite of that burger I was blown away. The fries are pretty good too! Great service, perfectly cooked burgers. Don't go here if you are allergic to peanuts or nuts. It doesn't feel super fresh but I'm pretty sure it is. Awful that's how I describe the burger from five guys in Morgan Hill. The place opened a few weeks ago and my husband and I were excited to try. Tonight instead of going to In&Out my husband excised to get five guys. When he got home the burgers were all smashed in a aluminum paper. When my husband put his on a plate and starter to eat he found the grossest hair in the burger. It went straight I the trash and we were so upset. Heard all about how Five Guys was the best burger and how the West Coast would be taken by storm by them..... Pros: The burger was decent, but overpriced and not amazing. Selection of topping is nice. Staff was very courteous. Cons: Over priced plain and simple for an average burger. I heard about how great the cajun fries were and they honestly tasted like overcooked fries that someone spilled some pappy's seasoning on. Garbage build-out (posters on walls look like they were prepared for a highschool rally or new dunder miflin marketing campaign. Don't get the peanuts at a burger joint bit? Conclusion: In-N-Out and The Habit Burger blow doors off Five Guys. Thanks for coming out Five Guys. They are to burgers, what "It's A Grind" was to coffee. Lot's of buzz, but just ok. read more

Went to Five Guys for the first time last night with family and friends and it wasn't as bad as I'd expected, nor as great as some of the 5-star reviews have built this place up to be. I liked the choices of toppings for the hamburgers and I didn't find the fries too greasy as some other reviewers found. It was crowded as advertised, but the line to order your food moved quickly. Overall, everything tasted fine, but but the experience was less than thrilling for my taste buds. I didn't think the food was any better or worse than that found at Mojo, Johnny Rockets, Sonic or In-N-Out. The service was quick and the people behind the counter were friendly. For a quick inexpensive burger fix that is a step up from Mickey D's or Burger King, I'll consider Five Guys again. However, I won't go out of my way to get it. read more

Not impressed. The burgers are mediocre and small. I've been there twice and each time I can't understand what all the raving is about. The prices are quite expensive and the burgers are small. For what I'm paying I'd prefer Red Robin and you simply can't top In-N-Out. Yes, they allow you to add all kinds of toppings but even that doesn't compensate for for the lack in flavor.
