Fast and tasty. I'm a pretty big In N Out fan, and Five Guys definitely holds up. It isn't a fancy, souped up restaurant burger, but that's not what I'm expecting when I go here. Two comments--burgers much better, juicier, than In and Out, but....it cost me more than a burger,fries and drink at In and Out for only a basic burger, no fries and a small drink! Thought we'd try this place out, so glad we did! I was iffy with the limited menu but I still wish they had shakes. I got a cheese burger with my toppings & I got exactly that! Never thought I'd have to write a negative review for a fast food joint but here I am. My friend and I came in today and ordered a little cheeseburger with lettuce and onion and another little cheeseburger all the way style. PLEASE tell me how they managed to screw it up so bad. My little cheeseburger only had two toppings. All it literally had to be was the patty, buns, onion and lettuce and they managed to somehow screw that up. And my friend's burger was all the way style but it was more like half the way, hello???? Came home and unwrapped the burgers and they had put mayo, lettuce, pickles and tomato in one burger and onion, lettuce, ketchup and mushrooms in the other. I didn't even know mine had ketchup or mushrooms until I bit into it because it was on the bottom bun and the patty covered it. What if either of us had been allergic? Thankfully we weren't but I really didn't think I could ever be this disappointed in a fast food restaurant until now, lol. read more

5 GUYS BURGERS and FRIES is a great place to get a quick, nourishing meal based on a thick burger patty in a bun, with your choice of toppings, with fries, and with all you can eat of free peanuts in the shells while you're waiting for your order! The service is almost immediate and friendly to a table just a few feet from the counter. The drawback at that location has been that the ketchup dispenser seems inadequate, or it's in need of replacement, because we could never seem to get enough out of it. A bit of a splurge as burger places go, but still a devoted fan. (First started eating up at the Curtner location, happily moved to this closer location.) Notes: 1) The "splurge" part comes from my, personally, not being able to get fries here (peanut allergy), hence splurge: multiple sandwiches. On the other hand, if you're gonna splurge on multiple burgers, this is the place to do it -- far superior to any other fast-food burger I've had, especially the much-hyped In-N-Out. (Yes, I come here when I'm just HUNGRY and burgers sound good, even when I know I really shouldn't be eating multiple double burgers.) 2) Have been numerous times over the last 3 or so years, with a significant peanut allergy, and not once have I had an allergic reaction in the slightest. These folks run a clean shop (and will go to extra lengths to segregate your food and its preparation and handling if you let them know you have a peanut allergy to boot, never mind that I never had a problem even BEFORE ever letting them know). 3) The burgers might be a little more than your basic average fast-food burger, but then again how much would you pay for a double burger on a full-sized bun with generous toppings (including grilled onion and mushroom)? With as much as I can get on the burger, I don't even miss cheese at $5.60. If you DON'T have a peanut allergy, a regular order of fries is huge compared to most fast-food places' ideas of fries, and a Large order of fries is youre-splitting-these-fries. read more

This is th second location that I've tried and found the burgers have no seasoning or taste, at all. The Morgan Hill location under-cooked the fries and this place over-cooked them. Half way through the fries I FOUND A HAIR !!!!!!!!! No one was wearing hairnets. Just hats that do no good. I'll never eat at this chain, again. I'll stick to the Happy Hound in Los Gatos. I don't get the complaints about the fries - I love their fries. I also don't get the comparisons between 5 Guys and In-n-Out... there's no comparison. A skinny tasteless patty vs. a thick juicy one? First time buying here and it was great. A young man named Josue was patient with me as I figured out how to order (it's not hard it just took me a second to figure out in line). One word....Ordinary! Nothing sets it apart from any other burger out there. A little too soggy for my liking as well. There is something about a toasty edge on a bun that gets my appetite going that Five Guys Burgers completely lost sight of. To reiterate though, it wasn't bad...but, it wasn't great! My problem here is not necessarily with the food, but with the consistently horrible service. The first time I came here was just before closing and instead of making me a little cheeseburger they made me a bacon burger. After letting them know, he asked if he could just put the cheese on top. I think most people prefer melted cheese on their cheeseburger and he seemed distraught that he had to remake it even though he was the one that made it wrong the first time. I attributed this mistake to the fact they were closing and were probably working quickly to go home. However, I just dined there during the afternoon and have concluded that there is an overall lack of professionalism in their staff. Again, I ordered a little cheeseburger and after waiting for a while up front one of the staff members asked me what my order number was. I told him it was 47 and asked if I was sure. I showed him my receipt and his reply was, "Oh...sorry. I think I gave your burger to someone else." My immediate thought was, "Wow he asked me if I was sure of my order number, yet failed to do so in asking the person who took my order." Isn't it common sense to ask everyone who comes up to show their receipt? Anyway, they made my order and the managers apology upon giving me my order was, "I'm sorry. You look very hungry and tired." I found that to be very rude, and I can truthfully say the only thing I was tired of was their sub-par service and their so-so burger. In-n-out has better quality food and an impeccable staff. I recently had a bad experience at this restaurant, I usually have the best food here hands down and I choose it over other options, but when I went in my food was undercooked and my fries were as well and the portion sizes were significantly much smaller. I did what anyone would do and I left them a survey so that they might better their store and keep this from being routine, then the store manager called me to get follow up feedback and left a voicemail. When I called back I explained what the issue had been and he acted like "oh I have so many I call back I don't remember which one you were" and made me feel extremely unimportant when in service you should care about all of your customers issues and concerns. Didn't resolve the situation at all and just said "thanks for following up, bye." I never knew a store could act so unprofessional, especially one I used to love and hold in high regards. It tasted worst than a re-microwaved school burger. Meat had a smell gamey freezer burn taste, vegetables were soft and slimey (not fresh or crunchy opposed to in-n-out's burgers.) I was looking forward to trying Five Guys because it isn't far from our house. The positive was the service was fast and they were not busy at 2:00 PM the negative is the meat tasted like it was reheated and had minimal flavor. The best part was the pickle, lettuce, tomato and the sesame bun but I went for the burger. The chocolate milkshake was ok but they use soft serve and I prefer ice cream. I was really excited to try this place as I had heard mixed reviews on five guys vs. in-n-out but I must say that If you're vegetarian, I would personally go to in-n-out instead. While five guys offers more variety of toppings, the quality of the bread is a lot better at in-n-out and thousand island sauce is always a +1. read more

After all the Hype about this place I decided to stop by. These burgers are huge and they give you a mountain of fries. I had a regular burger with everything on it. The First bite was great but after each bite the burger became less and less appealing. Don't get me wrong the burger was good but it did not live up to the hype it was getting. The produce was fresh but the meat was a bit dry and very heavy. The Fries on the other hand were one of the best I have ever had. They were crisp and cooked to perfection. But for this price I would rather go to In-N-Out. read more
