This is a typical Five Guys. The style and decor is everything you have come to know and love from this restaurant chain. The food is always fresh and delicious. The classics on their menu: burgers, hotdogs, and fries. All of which you can customize to your particular likes. Including the fries either Cajun(which is my favorite) or which is regular with salt. All burgers are cooked to well. The location is easy to find. It is in the center of 12 Oaks plaza. It is across from Publix. There is plenty of parking available in the business center. It has two entrances. One in the middle, with double doors. And the other off to the right side. The staff is ok at this location. I would not describe them as friendly. But they always get my food out in a timely manner. And it always tastes good. There are a few tabletops, tables, and banquets indoors. And there are tables outside with umbrellas. They have two of the coke machines that you serve yourself. And the bathrooms are towards the back of the restaurant on the right. The tables and floors are at times not clean. Not very clean. Lack of cleaning the floors and the tables is a real turn off. As much as it cost for a hamburger you'd think they'd keep it cleaner. Five Guys has undoubtedly the best fries and hamburgers money can buy, and has long held my esteem as one my all time favorite fast food eating places; however, I was disappointed today, in the midst of a pandemic, with restaurants trying their best to coax us out of our homes and trust them not to infect us, to see the staff at Five Guys on Abercorn in Savannah, not properly wearing their face masks. It is not enough to have the mask covering just your mouth, guys, not when you are preparing my food. It must cover your nose, too (that's where you normally breathe). Do this: hold your nose close to a mirror and exhale. All that fog that appears is droplets coming from your lungs, and if you are a carrier, those droplets are loaded with millions of Coronavirus germs. Oh, and one more thing ... don't grab up a bunch of ketchup packets and drop them into my fries, where they are touching food that is going into my mouth, please. Put them in a separate cup, or bag. It is a matter of trust. I want to believe you are not a carrier, but unless you were tested right before your shift started, you don't know, Andorra would appreciate your wearing your mask properly and minimize your handling of my food. Last night sitting at dinner with friends a few of them mentioned Five Guys and the fries, tonight I thought a burger sounds good so we ordered from here. Wow were we disappointed. We did delivery and maybe that was the problem, but our food was delivered, I opened the bag surprised to see it all fit in a paper bag, for the four of us we had: 1 regular burger, 2 small ones and a grilled cheese, 2 orders of fries. Everything was smashed---awesome, fries were spilled out all over the burgers, yippee and the food was not warm. Loved spending $50+ bucks on that, we won't bother again. ***To clarify-- the "delivery" option was listed on their website. Atmosphere - Probably the biggest Five Guys I have ever been to. This was also the dirtiest. I get the whole peanut shells on the floors. There was a lot more than just that. But it was nice is that they have a lot of tables outside and we enjoyed our meal out there. Food Drinks - They have one of those 5 billion soda dispensing Coke machines. I went with the standard Coke. Appetizer - Free peanuts, gotta love that. My Main Course - I ordered the cheeseburger, it comes with two patties. I ordered it with everything, they call it All the Way. I love all the toppings. The problem is when I picked up the burger by bottom bun was already split into two pieces. So sad. I still hate they wrap up the burger in tin foil, why do you do that? Dessert - None Service - We had two cashiers tonight as the one was learn. We visited Five Guys last Friday night. I called an order in for pick up about 45 minutes before they closed to save time. I was able to pay once I arrived. They started setting the buns before I arrived, but waited until I got there to drop my patty and fries. Everything here is fresh. I appreciated that because I hate cold french fries. My hubby ate some of the free peanuts while we waited. Our food was ready in less than 10 minutes.I ordered a little burger with all the fixings and grilled onions on top. It seemed like the meat could use a little seasoning (salt). Even with the toppings, it was on the blander side. The fresh cut fries were the highlight of my dinner. That Cajun seasoning is so good. I ate most of a large fry that I was sharing with my hubby. Next time, I may order the fries without the Cajun seasoning, because I had a little heartburn later that night.
