I had a great experience at Bandana Burger and it is easily a 5 star spot for me. The $15 lunch special is a steal with a burger, fries, and a Coke that all hit the spot. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying without breaking the bank. The atmosphere really stood out too. Old school wrestling posters all over the walls and cartoons playing on the TVs gave it a fun laid back vibe that felt different in a good way. It brought back some nostalgia while I was eating. Finally tried this place to see if it lives up to the hype and sadly no it doesn't. The burger is very bland, wouldn't be surprised if it was a frozen patty from Sam's. It happens to be the 1st annual Burger Bash Week in Savannah and hearing about their featured burger, The Vigilante, had me curious to try! So here I am. You order at the counter, and they'll bring it to your table. Such a fun, low key vibe here with classic games to be played on each booth table, colorful bandanas decorating the ceiling, great music filling the airwaves and one flat screen TV showing pro wrestling. Creativity, it's a chopped up cheese burger with lettuce, tomato, onions, peppers with their signature sauce on a hoagie - a burger paying tribute to New York and the New Yorkers that work at Bandana Burger. To me, the food was meh . The staff made the visit a weird experience. They essentially questioned my order / insinuated I wasn't ordering enough which is an odd thing to do to someone buying food at your restaurant. Parking is convenient and easy. So, I've been to Bandana burger twice. Once super "hammered" and the last super sober. I will say the drunk experience with my burger was way better. The seasoning was on point but the cranberry ranch still gives me nightmares and the winder fries were undercooked and inedible. The second time I went there (both times with the same person) my burger was under seasoned but still great quality, the curly fries were great and my friend enjoyed his food as well. The staff are kind and you can tell that they care it just really sucks that it feels awkward to ask for regular ranch and blue cheese because they put a twist on theirs and I don't think they have any in the building. We tried the Cranberry ranch again and it's still a HARD NO!! The avocado blue cheese on the second go round is still missing something. I like the atmosphere and it's a major plus that they're open until 3am on most nights. If you love a good burger and fries then this is the place to go. This place is notably user-friendly in many ways. While it is a burger place, it has multiple vegan and gluten-free options and extensive customization. They also were very fast, producing a fresh burger and fries for me in around ten minutes having ordered online. They are also open late night, which is not my scene but definitely helps out some people. I am not into the highly processed fake meat kind of burgers, but they did have a black bean burger. While the burger itself crisped up nicely, what really made it were the default toppings it came with, including a lot of avocado that created a great textural contrast. For fries, they had many options as well, and ordering curly fries with Cajun spice was a delicious experience with an aroma that made me wish I had time to head over to New Orleans for a meal every now and then. However, this was pretty good for Savannah. They had a long beverage selection and I went for an indulgent soda. I really really wanted to love this place because I had heard so many good reviews, but it was really disappointing for me. I don't understand paying $12+ for a fake processed burger patty. This did not come with a drink or fries. The presentation, service and atmosphere were there but the taste reminded me of nasty school lunch. A couple of suggestions: We couldn't read the menu from 15ft away. Seems to be a combination of type and size. They also didn't have menus on the table. I think the sandwich came with 1-2 napkins wrapped in the bandana. I didn't see them so I asked for more and only got 2 small napkins. We were lucky. There were only 2 tables of people and no one in the line to order. I had a feeling there might be a long waiting line at lunch time. We were looking at the menu, contemplating whether or not we should order something heavy that late, or just go home. The menu looked delicious, but we decided to leave and come back at a later date since it was too late for me to eat a burger without feeling the consequences of my decision the next day, lol. An employee followed us to the door and made me feel very uncomfortable with my decision to not order food. I was having a rough day and usually don't drive through Habersham Village but I really wanted a good burger. I gave this place a try. It took me awhile to decide but I went with a traditional burger. I tried a few of the sides (avocado blue cheese & chef had me try I think the raspberry sauce yum!) . The energy was great with the whole team and the menu has enough vegetarian options, I will bring my friend back for a visit. Loved every bit of it - the owner, the servers, the food, the ambiance, every single thing was fine! We'd go back in a heartbeat and depending how long the grand is in the hospital maybe we will. We really wanted to love this place. The vibe of the place was good and they are also from New York. Sadly this place ain't hitting it. What I loved: that you pick out a bandana (which you keep) and they tie around your burger box, very cute. What I liked: the black toilet paper in the bathroom. They offer some for purchase but we passed on that. I also like that the wings were surprisingly not dry. The curly fries were also cool. What I disliked: the wing sauce, I think we had the honey garlic lemon pepper, and the onion rings. What I hated: the burgers. We had the bandit and rockstar. To me a burger should never be outshined/overwhelmed by the condiments and extras. These burgers had no taste but the lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles did. They also come with chips and a fruit roll up which was surprising and kind of strange. This place definitely reminds me of one of those New York hipster joints that no one but transplants go to. Disappointing. I visited this restaurant for the first time. Unfamiliar with their system menu.. and given the fact that they don't have any signs outfront indicating where to order or how to order. I assumed that it was a table service restaurant. It is not. There seemed to be only one person working in the place. I assume it was the Cook because it looked as if he was cooking and running the entire restaurant. In any event, I reviewed their menu and did not see a selection on the menu that I liked. So I asked if they did custom burgers. He showed me the first century on the menu and said that would be the closest item to what I want. Explained that it comes with grilled onions. I asked if I could make a substitution instead of grilled onions if I could order it with raw onions. The individual shook his head and seemed annoyed throughout the entire process. He also seemed to be more interested in what was going on on his mobile phone than speaking to a customer. Since it seen that my Request annoyed him, I decided to leave. I won't be back. I don't spend my money in places that seem to be annoyed with me simply being there or asking a question. I don't have to accept that or put up with that kind of nonsense. I will let others know about my experience and that will be that.
