New renovated building is fabulous and has rustic charm. The seating situation is less than ideal, so much so that an employee told us to go "hover around a table until someone left". It was slightly awkward to stand around which plates/food in hand already and no where to sit. Hope they renovate the upstairs for more seating. Other than that, we got a cinnamon roll and cinnamon raisin walnut toast, it was to die for. They also had a selection of Red Jacket Orchard juices to choose from which are always delicious and unique. read more

Five Points is a great local bakery hidden in the Westside ghetto. Staff here super helpful in helping me pick out stuff as I was a first-timer. I ended up picking some cookies, apple cake, and cinnamon rolls for a group of ppl and got nothing but rave reviews. Last time I tried to go to this bakery, it was closed because of the Polar Vortex, and probably we shouldn't have been driving anyway. We finally got back there today, and it proved worth the wait. What an absolutely wonderful place this is. Very warm and homey atmosphere. Very good coffee. We shared the Oatmeal Toast with farmhouse cheese and plum cherry jam and Extra Sharp Cheddar Toast with St. Agur Bleu, hot sauce, sour cream and garlic pickle along with a side of saurkraut. The toast came in great thick slabs perfectly toasted. The various condiments were served with wee tiny utensils, the pickles in a shot glass. Delightful. I also took home a loaf of the Extra Sharp Cheddar bread and a loaf of the the Garlic. My new favorite breakfast spot. read more

This place has the most pleasant, bright, airy, and comfortable atmosphere of any coffee shop or bakery in Buffalo. The toast options are fun and reasonably priced, and the coffee is good (a rare thing in this town). The service is courteous and efficient without being saccharine. My only complaint is the limited hours. Some of us are not morning people and would love some toast after 3 pm. read more

I came to Buffalo to visit for the first time recently and was shown horrible service from the people that work at this place. I visit various cafes throughout the US and other countries and not once had I ever experienced poor service from any of them until I went Five Points. They rushed me from my table when I wasn't finished, they rushed me out of the bathroom when I wasn't finished, they said there wasn't Wi-Fi and though they did not mention I could not read off of my laptop for my grad studies and got mad at me when I tried to. I wish I could give 3.5 stars so I'll say 4. I'm the kind of person that wants to hate this place so bad, but I gotta admit that these people make a hell of a baked good. The cinnamon rolls are definitely different than the usual, less sweet which I like, great with coffee. The only thing that really drives me nuts is the toast menu. This toast with that spread and cheese, or only this one comes with an egg on the side. I respect baking, the knowledge of chemistry and skill it takes to make these great breads, and I appreciate your suggestions, and I'll be back for more delicious toast, but I'd like to pick what I shmear without feeling like I'm being judged. my grand daughter and i were resently here. The staff was so very helpful and friendly. we ordered the sourdough toast with a sliced apple and power bread with cheese on the side. it was very filling and delicious. We chose to sit outside but, there could be more seating and a bit more organize. We will defiantly be back! read more

I've been here a few times, and unfortunately I can't review anything other than the cinnamon rolls. I keep trying to order something else--it all looks delicious, but the cinnamon rolls are so good I just can't not get one! They aren't huge or sticky-sweet, but they are absolutely delicious. They're whole wheat (but still light and fluffy), so you can even pat yourself on the back that you had a healthy breakfast! They also sell dozen bags of them at the bakery, iced or with icing on the side. It's very cozy, warm, and sunny, and the coffee is good. They mentioned that the whole place is heated just by the ovens except in the most extreme weather, which is amazing. The only thing that would make me love this place more would be if I could take advantage of a bread share, but pickup by 6:00 cuts it too close getting out of work at 5. read more

Delightful place. Delicious wholesome food, excellent service and really funky (but not pretentious) building. There is a play nook for children. Menu is mostly toast with a very interesting variety of fillings and sides. The toast is made from a variety of breads baked there and is very tasty and healthy. Coffee is very good. I would definitely go back. I'd also like to go in the summer as the outer area looks very nice too. The bakery closes at 3 pm daily. read more

Don't get me wrong: this place has excellent food and delicious coffee. I could have sat there all day drinking coffee and eating toast. However, I am so turned off by the people working there. I've gone two days in a row and have dealt with two different women who were both off-putting. I get it, you own/work at a heady, successful, locally sourced and sustainably run bakery, but that doesn't give you the right to be snobby. They literally act like serving you is the biggest inconvience ever. What is up with that? And today, the lady was closing up shop for the day. I get it, I work in the service industry , I know what it is like to have people sitting down and dilly-dallying when you just want to go home, so that is why I started packing my stuff up at 3 o'clock. But the lady working just came over and grabbed my half filled coffee cup off the table. Way to rush me, I wanted to finish that. If I ever go there again, it's because the food is good. I think Five Points Bakery is awesome. Their bread is delicious, and the toast dishes they serve are also very good. When you eat one of the items on their menu you'll likely be surprised by how tasty a simple dish of toast, hardboiled egg, and sliced cheese can be. The coffee won't disappoint either. A GEM!!! This place is awesome. We were so saddened when the in-laws from NYC came to town and Five Points was moving locations so we could not brag about it's awesomeness. We have stopped in a number of times and tried each of the toast options on the menu. They have something for everyone--hard boiled egg, cheddar cheese, brie, peanut butter, etc. It's hard to pick a favorite! The cinnamon rolls are awesome as we pick up a frozen pack to have at home when we are too cold to venture over to get fresh ones. Horrible experience at my very first visit this morning. What a humiliating experience !!! Have a ok toast (apple cider toast) with a cup of coffee. Name any sweet bread that does not taste good if you eat it with brie cheese! My bad review is based on their terrible etiquette as a cafe that claims their organic nature as a virtue of their business. Is it really right to kick customers out as soon as they finish their plate? What if you're a speedy eater? You need to leave the table as soon as possible for the business of the cafe? I have never been told to do so except this very mundane cafe in Buffalo despite my visit to hundreds of fancier, nicer, and tastier restaurants in LA, SF, and NY. I had my table less than one and half hour as my neighbors did (in the very next table) who happened to block the hallway because they happened to need larger space than i did. I finished my toast quicker than they did and worked on a computer. A friend of mine arrived and joined me later --- so we were there between 1 and 1 1/2 hour, and we were quiet. However, one of the people in the kitchen came over and kicked us out. He didn't yell at us, it was his tone. I think that it's UNFAIR and not a nice way to run a business. If you ever care for the quality of cafe including nice atmosphere, please remember my experience. They are not the only one who knows how to bake in the city... read more

Who doesn't love this bakery? I mean it took me quite some time to here about it as it was originally hidden on the dark side of town but as soon as I did boy was I happy! This place simply has the best bread/sweets in town. I wouldn't necessarily call it a typical bakery however so do not be discouraged if it does not have what you were searching for. No fancy cookies, cupcakes, cakes, etc. This place does have the most delicious breads I have had! They are served with cheeses or spreads and a small side item and they are definitely satisfying. The cinnamon rolls as stated in previous reviews are ON POINT. They are wheat which may discourage you as you read this but when you go there YOU MUST GET ONE. You will not be disappointed. I think the best thing to take home from this place is that it uses local ingredients and in some sense is trying to give you a healthy (cheese in moderation-- moderation in moderation?) balanced bite to eat whether it be breakfast, lunch or a snack.
