We were craving pizza the other night and decided to try this pizza joint. Ordered on DD so can't tell you how the place looks nor customer service. We had the Large Everything pizza, two orders of the knots (buy one, get one promotion), and two garlic dips and an extra marinara sauce (.98 cents each). Everything Pizza: 6.5/10 - the pizza itself was HUGE and worth the $29 price tag. It had banana peppers, cheese, bell peppers, olives, pineapple, Canadian bacon, sausage, tomatoes, and jalapeños. I appreciate that they don't skim on the toppings but it was a bit much (flavor wise) all at once. All the flavors muddled together and after a few bites, it became super heavy and greasy. We could only stomach one slice at each time, because there was too much going on. The garlic dips were flavorful but had a slight aftertaste I wasn't a fan of. The crust was nice, toasty, and thick and we loved dipping it into the sauces. Garlic knots/rolls: 8.5/10 - these were delicious and coated in their signature garlic butter sauce! The knots were soft, buttery, and full of flavor! The marinara sauce was tangy and went well with them. We enjoyed the knots very much and were super excited that we got another one for free too! They give you a good amount of garlic knots in an order, like 6 big size pieces for $5 something ish. I think we need to try other pizzas as the one we had, wasn't really doing it for us. Oh my! It's been too long! We ordered an 18 inch deluxe no green peps extra mushrooms, pepperoni rolls, Carolina sauce wings and a side of Hamilton sauce. I'd never had that sauce but I do love datil peppers. The service was very fast. I didn't time it but definitely less than an hour. The order was correct, yea! The pizza had generous toppings and well cooked. The wings were fall off the bone. I tasted the Hamilton sauce and it is tasty. Very spicy and a bit sweet. I'd say perfect for dipping wings or pizza, breadsticks, etc. I'd also say a 5 of 5 on the heat level. The pepperoni rolls were fresh homemade style dough with plenty of pepperoni, topped with garlic butter. I may try pics later. Veronica is a whole unprofessional mess!! I called to place an order and the lady was beyond rude, kept asking, "anything else?". She was beyond rude and she didn't care. I called back to speak to a manager and she gladly told me she was the manager and further told me that's the way she speaks to all her customers. Shame on you Rob for having a manager who can't truly lead a crew if she can't attract the customer with her nasty, unprofessional, disrespectful attitude. Veronica, you should find another place of business because if pizza isn't fun, you make it a miserable experience. After realizing that Veronica was self- indulged by her title, I cancelled my order. I work hard for my money and I will never spend my money where the business doesn't realize that without customers, there would be no business. It gets better!! Upon hanging up, she cynically tells me thanks for calling. Rob, the owner should remind Veronica that in his absence, she represents his business and bottom line. Every year, my family does pizza and wings. Not wanting to cook ourselves. Usually when we order from chains, the wait time is multiplied even with pick up. I have been over to Five Star a few times and always amazed on how many people are here working and how everyone always has an upbeat attitude now matter how crazy busy it is. Like, they are always busy when I come in. I placed my order online and called after to check on the pick up time. He said, "15 to 20 minutes." Really? Even on Super bowl Sunday... Yep. No lie.. My pizzas and garlic knots where ready by the time I walked in (I live 15 minutes away.) Everyone was happy and smiling. Tons of drivers coming in and out picking up pizzas. Damn, they really do know how to run pizzas up in here. (In the past, other chains have made us wait an hour minimum for pick up.) Not to overlook that their pizzas are always good. No restrictions on how many *coupons I use and I can't recall their ever being an issue with our pizza. Yeah, they know what's up around here and I totally appreciate that. Had five star at a friend's the other nite and was pretty good but not toppings I would've chosen. Ordered last nite at the house and was like hell yeah! Papa who Domino what and what the Hut. They state you have to request contactless delivery and authorize your card so you don't have to sign. Yet the website does not give that information. They do not do temp checks on their workers. Called the store spoke to the manager he said he would fix it and apologized and said it was on the way still nothing. At this point it's not about the soda. Mind you, I am not a Pizza Connoisseur and other then during my Fleet Weeks in NYC I have never ventured outside of Pizza Hut, Domino's or Papa Johns. As soon as I walked in it seemed like the entire staff greeted me (if you have read my previous reviews then you know I am a glutton for hospitality) and were all smiles the entire time, even giving me an extra discount on top of the discounted special! I ordered a 16 inch pizza and 10 wings for about $14. 3 slices and 4 wings later, I'm very satisfied. Not overly greasy, a nice thin crust, big slices of pepperoni and the perfect amount of cheese (in my opinion). I have definitely had better hot wings but these hit the spot and go very well with the pizza. The best part of all is that I don't have that gonna-be-on-the-toilet-for-awhile feeling that usually accompanies one of the franchise pizza joints :-) All in all, this is a great little spot to get good pizza on a budget and will definitely help me wean myself off of the mainstream crap. It was a ridiculous situation. A co-worker of mine wanted to get pizza (in celebration of most of us being promoted to managers at our own restaurant) and split the cost so everyone's pockets were happy. Okay, 45 dollars worth of food split 3 ways isn't bad at all for an XL pizza, cheesy bread, a 2 Liter, and 20 wings. Decent deal, really. Lots of food for hungry people. They said it would take 30-45 minutes. We place the order at midnight. 1 AM rolls around and they give us a call. "Yeah, we'll be 15 minutes out." I say okay and pass the phone over to my co-worker. We call at the restaurant to see what's up, because, even in a rush, it's not acceptable to take more than twice as long as your lowest possible time. (30 minutes +30 minutes =/= 1:30) We get the food at about 1:20 in the morning, and, by that point, we've all had it. The delivery guy has to take 10 minutes to call his manager and confirm it, but we get the food for free. We take it inside after tipping him 3 bucks. Now I don't even think we should have done that. The order was wrong. The bleu cheese was under the hot wings and probably spoiled (I didn't open it to find out because of food danger zones). At first, we didn't even think we got it. It was buried under all the wings. We also got Parmesan, two marinara, and crushed red peppers. We didn't order Parmesan nor two marinara sauces. Then we get to the garlic dip for the bread. This stuff is so greasy, I can't even dip my cheesy bread in the stuff. It's disgusting and cold and almost solid on the edges. In fact, most of the food was cold. The cheese wasn't melted anymore, and the bread wasn't warm at all. Okay, so the pizza. We had ordered the 3 toppings on a XL. We wanted onions, chicken, and bacon. I got one piece of bacon on one piece of pizza in the whole box, and I couldn't find a single piece of onion on any of my slices. The chicken, too, was scarce. We had to play 'find the toppings'. It was like they hadn't even thought to put anything on until that last second of 'oh wait, it needs toppings!' or something. We call back to complain that we didn't get what we ordered. Yes, we got a refund after a lot of arguing (unprofessional on their part), but the order was wrong. The manager is pissed off, for whatever reason and literally, literally said there was nothing he could do to fix our order. He says to wait, puts the phone on the counter, and hangs up later. We call back because that was rude. The manager on Wednesday night-shift says 'he doesn't care, we got the order, it doesn't matter if it's wrong, we refunded it' and continues to put the phone on the counter every time we call. Then it goes to them answering and hanging up on us. We call back a little later to try to talk to a higher up manager. The best part is, since there's no general manager, only owners, we try to find a corporate number. There's not one. We call the Five Star in freaking Gainesville to try to get a hold of a corporate number. There really aren't any, but there need to be. A very nice guy, named Brandon, helps us out. He tells us how to get into contact with the owner and all that. So we get a hold of someone. They say that they can give us one free pizza of equal value to what we had before in compensation for the teenage-like, silly behavior we had to endure. That sounds perfect to us. A great ending to a terrible weekend for us, since those were our days off. Okay, we accept this. B.B.B, here we go. We can't take it the very next day because of work schedule conflicts. Can't accept a pizza when you're running a shift at a different diner, right? Yeah, we talked to the owner. Turns out, Orange Park's owner isn't very friendly. He doesn't uphold the agreement. He doesn't think of the customer. We even ask 'why won't you hold up to the agreement your other manager said they'd do? As in, why not back up their decisions, why break their promise' and so on. Turns out, the owner just isn't willing to back up the authority of their other managers. By the way, they went to the wrong address first. read more
