Whether this is an old sticker or not, at one point it was a Kitchen Aid authorized service center
    Amanda M.

I would give this shop 4.5 stars for the repair of my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. I researched online looking for KA repair around the entire Boston area and even considered one in NH after my mixer made a strange screeching noise for a few weeks. This was the most reasonable pricing of the few handful of shops that I called in the area. Before dropping my mixer off, I called to explain the issue, ask about prices and confirm hours (as previous Yelpers had suggested). Although I never got his name, the old man (who was at first difficult to understand over the phone with his accent) was helpful and knew what was wrong. If you're expecting 5 star customer service, this is not your place. If you want your stand mixer repaired by someone who looks as if he's been repairing them for 30-40 years, this if your place. The man is not overly friendly, but will answer any questions you have. He does a bunch of appliance repair and sees a lot of kitchen aids as well, there were a few there for repair and pick up when I dropped mine off. When I called to confirm his hours, he let me know there was a $50 CASH deposit when dropping off which covers labor and diagnostics, and then you pay for any additional parts needed. He had to replace a pretty large part on mine - he was honest and said the whole part cost him $90, but was able to salvage a part of my old one that he could use again and charged me $43 for the part. All in - I was happy to have my mixer back and running for $93 total (other Boston area shops quoted me $120+). When I got home, I was worried about the smell when I turned it on, called him and drove back again to make sure everything was okay. I'm no expert, so the smell seemed like an electrical issue but he took it apart right then and there the second time and confirmed no issues and told me when such a big part is replaced, often times you can smell it a little as the machine gets used to it. It's been a few months now back in it's glory and I don't even notice a smell anymore and it's been working great. Long story short, I searched high and low in the Boston area for someone who I could trust with my KA mixer that wouldn't charge me the cost of a new one to fix it, and I would recommend his shop!

During posted business hours - signs say open but shop is locked up. No answer over the phone. Frustrating.

This is the only place in the Boston area that I've found to fix a Kitchenaid mixer. Living in Waltham makes this a drive to get to his shop on Salem, but worth it. His customer service is lacking - but I can deal. Cash only. Sure. No niceties. Ok. I trust he will fix my appliance. But what I can't really take is him not being at the shop during the posted business hours. 2:15pm on a Thursday - shop sign says open, gates are locked shut in front of shop. That's frustrating. Some advice: call ahead before you make the trip.

Very easy transaction. Fixmaster was pleasant and efficient. He had my mixer humming in about a week. I couldn't be more pleased.

Old school repair shop. Has fixed my KitchenAid mixer twice in ten years. Looks like it out of bizness but it's open! Cash only.

I told the owner this as I laughed at myself for waiting until I moved out of state to bring my mixer in.

After we cleaned it out and plugged it back in it seemed to work fine but we needed assurances. We contacted Adesso and after talking to Griffith on the phone, we made an appointment. We were glad we did. What happened after that were things we do not remember ever happening with a repair service. They called to confirm the appointment the day before and Griffith called in the morning to let us know he was on the way and might be a few minutes late. He arrived, listened to the details of what happened, immediately knew what the problem was, made the fix. He then told us why the issue happened and what to look for to make sure it doesn't happen again. He was done in less than 30 minutes and the price was extremely reasonable. The manner in which the entire process was handled from making the appointment through the resolution was professional and there is no doubt that if we need another appliance repair, we will call them again.

We have been using Adesso Appliance Repair for over eight years, and have only good things to say. Griffith thoroughly knows his stuff, prices fairly, and has always been pleasant and totally reliable. He arrives when he says he's going to arrive. Mr. Appliance of Salem, your response misrepresents the facts of what happened…read more You diagnosed a cracked water valve, charged a $150 diagnostic fee, and then performed a nearly $500 repair to replace the valve. However, the moment your technician left, we ran a test cycle, and for the first time ever, the washer emitted an ear-splitting grinding noise--a noise that was not present before your repair. When we IMMEDIATELY called you back, you sent someone to inspect the issue. Instead of acknowledging the possibility that your technician either missed something during the diagnosis or caused an issue during the repair, you took the stance that this new problem was completely unrelated and required an entirely separate chargeable repair. Had this noise been present prior to your visit, we would have mentioned it--because it would have been impossible to miss. The fact that it began the moment we first used the machine after your repair should have prompted a second, more thorough evaluation on your part. Instead, your company refused to take responsibility, offered to remove the valve installed and issue a partial refund (while still keeping the $150 diagnostic fee for a misdiagnosis), and provided a coupon for future services--as if we would trust you with another repair. Your diagnostic process either failed to identify all underlying issues with the washer, or your repair coincided with the onset of a severe new problem, and your refusal to stand behind your work has been frustrating and costly. This is precisely why I left the review--to warn others about your incomplete diagnostics, inflated repair costs, and lack of accountability. If you truly regret this experience, you would refund the entire amount paid for your misdiagnosis and failed repair rather than doubling down on a misleading defense.

I had to find the discount on their website separately because they do not offer to me automatically. I am not happy with the communication and the thermostat replaced. It is a rental property. Unlike other companies I used, I never received a call 30-60 mins before the technician arrived. So I was not sure if he showed up or not. Whenever I called the company, I was talking to the teams handling customer service, not the technician directly. So there is always a middle man between the tech and me to translate information. The diagnosis was on Wednesday. I approved the quote right away after I received it. The repair was the next Thursday 8 days later. The appointment was initially scheduled for the morning between 9-12. I then got a call to say he could not make it on time and would be there around 1pm. I got a tenant message to say he still did not show up at 2:30PM without any call to inform he would be further late. What I am most disappointed is the new thermostat installed during this repair! He replaced my old programmable thermostat with a new FocusPro N100 Non-Programmable Thermostat 1H/1C. When every household is switching to a smart thermostat, he installed an ancient manual controlled thermostat! I would appreciate he could give me some option to select different types of thermostat. I would have no problem to pay for something better or even buy a smart thermostat myself. I called the company to complain about it. All I got was it is fully functional and it is more modern than my old programmable thermostat! I could not be more disappointed about this. Despite they fixed my AC, I do not feel comfortable to use this company again and to recommend it to anyone else if this is not addressed.
