I do not give 5 star reviews lightly. I really think 5 star reviews should be limited to only the best of the best, the ultimate of its category. Flagler Steakhouse is certainly in this esteemed crowd. We went to this restaurant because it was walking distance and we got WAY more than we bargained for. Okay, so I had to walk up the stairs to the dining room and that irritated me - but, after the meal I had there, I would gladly climb the Empire State Building to get to the food I ate here!!! Even something as simple as a Caesar Salad was elevated to another level. My main course - red snapper - was outstanding. Big thick piece of fish - pure white, no bones, brown and crusty on the outside, luscious and juicy on the inside! The steak my spouse had was among the best we've ever had, perfectly cooked of course. Dessert was key lime pie - beautifully tart, only slightly sweet - great light crust. Best Key Lime Pie ever!!! But, wait, there's more. The service was exquisite. Our server (sorry I did not get her name) was so cute, so professional, so nice to talk to - she created the perfect 1st night of our vacation. The prices at Flagler Steakhouse are on the high side but, believe me, it is worth it. Oh, did I mention the view from the dining balcony??? Out over a golf course complete with lakes, fountains, lights up-lighting palm trees and the city of West Palm in the background. Whoever designed this restaurant and whoever manages it deserve high fives all around!!! I want to go back to Palm Beach just to eat at Flagler Steakhouse! And my spouse says that, when we do, we will ONLY eat at Flagler Steakhouse every night! read more

This place is a very elegant, very "PBC" steakhouse. Lots of rich people in golf apparel or business casual & a little stuffy/conservative in terms of vibe. The steaks here are 5 stars. I am always in search of great steak & this place's can hold its own with nearly anywhere else. The tomahawk ribeye was near perfect and the bone in aged NY strip was melt in your mouth delicious. Additionally, the service is top of the line. They add gratuity to the bill & are very transparent about it. The oysters & crab dumplings were both what I would describe as "above average". Neither was super amazing, but both were quite satisfying & we'd order either again. Their onion bread loaf was also nicely done. The fries and gorgonzola tots were both kind of throw away items and the prices here are high. Don't come here if you're broke, folks, cuz you're gonna drop a couple hundo minimum here on a meal. On April 9th my wife and I were guests for dinner at Flagler Steakhouse. We both ordered prime rib, rare and medium rare. When our meal came, we were presented with another cut of meat and told that the kitchen was out of prime rib. And what we received was medium at best. Since we were guests, I didn't make a fuss of this. I did, however send a note to the restaurant the next day -- and have heard nothing from them. Our reservation was at 6:30 so there would have been plenty of time to let us know of the shortage in the kitchen so we could make another choice. I have an idea that there was meat in the sou vide that they wanted to move and we were the lucky recipients -- even though it wasn't what we ordered. And yes, the view over the golf course is stunning. I would expect more from a Breakers property. read more

It would have been nice for the server to guide us better and give us quantity recommendations. We left feeling stuffed, fat, and had a food coma. We straight to bed after dinner and I felt like I wasted a night in palm beach. For a couple, I recommend 1 app, a salad to share, and 1 steak per person. The steak portion sizes are bigger than other chop houses. Steaks are served with a complimentary side of potato. I do not recommend ordering a side dish. --- "Would you like iced, still, or sparkling water?" What I said: "we'll take still." A $10 bottle of Evian showed up. Eek. What I should've said: "I'll take tap water." For the record, iced water is tap water. Lesson learned... Let's move on. --- Apps: iced Stone crab. Nice and meaty served with a delicious sweetened mustard. Blue crab dumplings. I will dream about this forever. This was the best thing that I have ever tried on this island. Salad: Caesar. If you want to feel like a number this is the place. My wife's 40th birthday and we were sat at a little small table. After requesting a larger table we were told nothing was available and if we didn't decide to sit at this table in the next 10 minutes someone else would be sat there. The manager at this restaurant is a piece of work. We left and went to Meat Market around the corner. It was so good we went back the next day. The restaurant servers are amazing, they took care of our every ask. Very attentive and at the same time, practically invisible. Beverages were topped off after every sip. Appreciate that the tables are spaced appropriately, so the meal was intimate. We ordered artichoke heart starter, French onion soup, and broccolini side with our petite filet mignon and aged née York strip steak. The food was well prepared. I was disappointed that the beet salad was no longer on the menu and the prices have jumped about 20% since the pandemic. On both sides of our dining experience was the notorious poor valet service. The food and service are not head and shoulders better than nearby Ruth's or Morton's, and the view is not an exclusive. When you charge 30% more than your competitors for the same quality food, appetizers at other eateries meal prices, and a whopping 130% increase on everything on the bar except your slate of mixed drinks ($45-50 for shots of average stock American whiskies that sell at a premium at 18-20? Are you friggin' kidding me?) this place is a pocket vacuum for the idle rich of Palm Beach, and for the special event seekers, such as us, or the curious. When I change my order to accommodate your departure from reality, because I refuse to be clipped, that detracts from my reason for being there. BEWARE. Your meal will minimally roll at $110 unless you eat appetizers for $40-80, which we saw many couples doing and departing quickly instead of dining, drinking, and enjoying the ambience. Bill with bar and 20% automatic tip? More in the $300 range. The restaurant is the golf course outpost of The Breakers, a name which should refer to the surf, not the impact on the wallets of their guests. The hotel was built by Henry Flagler as part of his FEC railroad empire. I guess they're still trying to recoup the $1.2B cost of the failed track to Key West. It ruins the experience, and cuts back on sales, so down another star for pissing on one's premise. And to the management who is hopefully reading this, when you can top Paul Bocuse, Daniel Boulud, or John Besh, all of whose restaurants are still less overpriced than yours, please come talk to me. We had reservations and seated promptly! From the moment we arrived until departure, the service was amazing! Our waiter was the "best"! From our beverages (always filled), appetizers (all de-lish..... onion soup is fabulous) to main course (lobster,steaks, chilean sea bass, shrimp, etc) dinner was terrific! I was on the cusp of giving it three stars. The waiter was a little rude. Simply asked, "what are the popular steak sauces" (that we previously saw on the website menu) he responded back as if he didn't know what we were talking about (maybe he didn't, but then find out). He also corrected the pronunciation of one of our guests while ordering, he clearly knew what he meant. The asparagus was extremely underwhelming it didn't even have the most basic salt and pepper-super dry. The filet Mignon was great but at the same time it should be. Rarely do you receive such attention to your every need! The people who work here genuinely want this to be an experience to remember and they succeed. Add to that, a magnificent view seated outdoors overlooking their incredible golf course. Finally, and ultimately the main reason for going is that their food is just outstanding! We had lunch celebrating a birthday there recently and we all loved our food choice and they even brought us a celebratory dessert. We had our first experience here on Father's Day. They were featuring a pre-fix meal for $45.99 and $15.00 unlimited mimosas or bloody Mary's. Some of our guests ordered off the pre fix menu and ordered what they are known for...steak. The first steak came out medium well instead of medium rare. Once the knife sliced through the meat you could definitely tell it was over cooked. The waitress came by and was told about the steak. We were so hungry by this time that we refused to have another made. The manager came by and insisted another steak cooked to perfection without charge. The second steak came out and it was still not cooked right. We have up at this point. How could you have the name of Flagler Steakhouse and not cook steak perfect? We also ordered their crab cakes appetizer- really good, chowder soup- very tasty!, and their NY strip- pretty good. The strawberry cheesecake was delicious. The service was very good and accommodating. Our server was super nice. I noticed she used big adjectives to capture our attention. The view is spectacular. We took several pics on the veranda. If I am hungry for steak I would go to Calleros in Lake Worth. It is way better and much cheaper. read more

The food was good but no better than other restaurants in the area at half the price. Of course, if you are coming here, then money shouldn't be a concern. The service was excellent and unpretentious, which was appreciated. The outdoor patio with heaters was pleasant even in cool weather. My husband and I shared the $60 seafood appetizer. It was delicious with a variety of seafood, a sampling of clams, oysters, lobster, crab and shrimp. We then ordered the Steak Au Poivre and the Natural Veal Chop. These House Specialties came with one side. All other sides were an additional $14. With a few glasses of wine, chardonnay at $16 a glass, and a shared dessert, our bill came to $352 including the gratuities. This is a tough one, every thing was perfect except 3 of our steaks were over done by at least two levels. Our fantastic server offered to have them recooked but you know how that screws up the night. The one filet ordered Pittsburg was cook perfectly, it might have been that steak that caused ours to be left on the grill too long. We loved the French onion soup, onion rings and it's nice that potato or veg comes with the steak. Our table outside with view of the golf course could not have been better! Beautiful property! We had dinner overlooking the course. We started with crab dumplings and they were delicious! Wife and I followed that by caesar salad split. I had the filet as main course and wife had the stuffed shrimp. We finished off by splitting the key lime pie-was excellent. Our 4 year old had the fried chicken kids meal, which was the best tasting kids meal he has ever had (with the exception of one of our home town favorite places where he gets homemade mac n cheese). I had a glitch with my steak not being cooked at the correct temp but other than that it was smooth sailing. (The manager on duty was excellent and when he heard my steak was not cooked to my desired temp he came by to apologize in person and offer a new steak.) read more

While your dinner will certainly be fine - that seems to be the problem at this once over the top well established steak house tat can leave the customer disappointed. Pros: 1. An Amazing steak house room overlooking the manicured golf course (currently being renovated) that truly helps you have a good time - if your with good friends. 2. Convenient access with Valet parking makes getting in and out better than dealing with the usual Breakers chaos. Cons: 1. Mediocre food that reminds me of a diner or chain restaurant. For a steak house with prime prices, not one steak was delivered as ordered. 2. Prices simply do not match the quality of food received. Some portions of our dinner were undercooked (Brussel sprouts), arrived ice cold (mashed potatoes) and bizarrely prepared (Kale salad). Meat quality was about what you would expect at a Marriott Hotel Cafe. 3. The well intentioned staff often appears like deer in headlights and service is akin to what you would expect at an IHOP. The mandatory taking order, returning 5 minutes into your meal to check, and then presentation of a desert menu. If something is needed between those times - be prepared to whistle Dixie to get anyone's attention. Flagler Steak House has undergone significant changes over the last decade in the kitchen and the room. While the present room configuration guarantees warmth, the actual delivery falls flat. Mind you, hotel guests in general will be fine with the place, and food was edible but disappointing. Our table of six was greeted by a charing Millennial hostess who quickly sat us at our table. The room was loud this night, and a party was in the party room adding to the audible pollution. I appreciated the warm bread and butter that was brought to the table. Food For our table, starters included French Onion Soup (a steakhouse staple), an artichoke salad, a Kale Salad, corn and lobster chowder, and the crab meat Louie. My French Onion soup was really inedible and too salty - mostly tasted like a bottle of Worcestershire. What was worse, it was served Luke warm and had the presentation of a tired bowl of soup sitting around a soup kitchen. My table companions reported the artichoke salad to be good - but portion size was tiny for the price and again, freshness lacked in presentation. Both diners having the Corn Chowder enjoyed it - but again claimed the soup was just not hot enough. The crab was reported to be just ok, with again the complain being Luke warm, and tasting as if it was reheated. The Kale salad was the most bizarre thing we had even seen. It Took an extra ten minutes to get the dish as everyone else at our table was served their own appetizer leaving the guest to wait. Not only was the kale drenched in oil and cold, it featured figs brushed with BBQ sauce you would expect on chicken at a backyard BBQ. The dish was cold, and it looked sad. Both the onion soup and the kale Salad were send back. Dinner fared no better. Guests at our table ordered strip steak, sliced steak, filet Mignon, and salmon. We ordered Brussels sprouts, tater tots, and the Mac and cheese. My $61 medium Filet Mignon seemed like a very small portion, served butterflied and completely Charred. I ate the steak but really saw no point in its taste, presentation or price. Our table mates had similar issues with their steak - presentation was poor and taste was lackluster. Insulting was the ice cold - ICE COLD - mashed potatoes. The sides were completely disappointing, with the order of Brussel sprouts coming to the table completely raw inside. Again another dish inedible. The restaurant apologized and removed the charge from our bill and sent us another order complementary but again - it was raw. I could only think they simply re-plated the original dish to reserve or the incompetent staff simply can't make Brussels sprouts. Service During set points during the meal (seating, delivery of food, drink and food orders) service was well intentioned. However, the mark of a good restaurant is the availability of service staff to appear IF needed, not to come by every five to ten minutes interrupting your dinner to check if everything is ok. For THIS price, one should be able to easily get the attention of staff should any need arise during the dinner. Its just a pet peeve of mine to have food in my mouth at a dinner table to have to answer wait staff when they come to the table "Is everything ok?". I'd rather they NOT invade my private dinner conversation and just make themselves available should something NOT be ok. If I were a guest of the Breakers, I'd stick to very basic food here, and LOWER your expectations. read more

Rarely do I have a dining experience so disjointed with the my expectation as I had at the Flagler Steakhouse last night. I have lived and dined in many major metropolitan cities in The US and Europe, dined at many a Michelin starred establishment, and worked at and ate my way through Napa Valley. But not until yesterday had my jaw dropped at a menus pricing like it did last night.... And more unfortunately, the experience didn't come close to delivering enough wow factor. The setting is impressive no question, but what was on the plate was meh. Pricing I see on this site was WAY off from what we found. The least expensive steak was $80. Mine was $100...I had to send mine back as it was at least 2 full temperatures overcooked. This is a steakhouse too people. Everyone else's was also over cooked but didn't send there's back. I didn't hesitate. I asked for rare...and when I did I told the server, please make sure my steak is rare....not medium rare.... It was medium to medium well. Our dumplings g appetizer was $35...the artichokes were 31.... All the sides, we $22 each. There is zero question in my mind that every national steakhouse chain....Ruth's Eddie V's, Capital grill etc....is a far better product on the pate for a fraction of the cost. The ONLY thing outstanding was the crab dumplings. Everything else was decent at best but nothing great let alone exceptional. We were a party of 7. Only 4 people drank...we had 2 cocktails (not rounds....2 total), a bottle of Taitinger La Francaise ($130), and Duckhorn Merlot ($160). We had 7 entrees, shared 1 side and had 6 desserts. Our bill was $1865.00 For the 7 of us including gratuity....which was autogratted....and I can see why! Cool view, nice to see once....likely never go back. Having dined at Steak Houses all over the country, I can say without reservation this establiment was first class. From being greeted by the hostess like we were regulars that they were happy to see. To our server Georgia, the staff was exemplary, possible only exceeded by the what the chef prepared. We dined on wagu bone in filet, creamed spinach, Mac, & Cheese, and parmesan steak fries.
