I've been coming here for years. Always good food and good service. The location is kind of small for those in large groups thinking about dining in

This is my first time in a physical restaurant for this place. My bestfriends always eat at this place in The Bay so they brought it to me once they found it in San Diego and brought me some. I believe I tried the rice, veggies, and beef bowl. I thought it was delicious and not too bad of a price. The veggies are good and the rice is nice and soft. For this particular restaurant, the place was very clean and the guy working the register was very courteous and amiable. I like that they have different sauces you can put on your food and they are now offering avocado. If I could find this close to San Marcos, I'd probably go weekly.

I am all about keeping things simple when it comes to food. I would prefer a restaurant to master a few options rather than offer a large selection of mediocrity. The Flame Broiler specializes in rice bowls, and they simply do it better than anyone else. The setup is similar to many other restaurant chains. All you need to do is pick your protein, add veggies (or not), and select brown or white rice. Sounds easy -right? The hardest choice you will need to make is figuring how much of their (appropriately named) magic sauce that you would like to consume. On its own, the beef and chicken are grilled to perfection, the veggies are blanched and tender, and the rice is what you would expect Calrose rice to taste like. However, when you toss in a boat load of their magic (teriyaki) sauce over the top- something amazing happens. The magic sauce transforms a "normal" (albeit good) rice bowl into a can't-miss attraction. Since it was my first time here, I tried the half and half bowl (chicken and beef) with veggies and white rice. FYI, for all of you tofu lovers-they have that as an option too. Since I like spicy food, I also tried their hot sauce options to see if The Flame Broiler was bringing the heat. The reddish/orange hot sauce had more of a vinegar base and tasted similar to "buffalo sauce". The greenish/brown hot-hot sauce was a little spicier, and went well with the beef. Online, this place is classified as offering Korean style rice bowls. I am not sure I would agree with that classification, as I did not detect a Korean influence at all. If you can't tell-I am a fan of this place. I wish there was one closer to me in Northern California. However, since there a ton of locations throughout Southern California, and one in Las Vegas--I am sure I will be back soon.

    Does anybody work here?

UPDATE: Just realized I did not update on here after Steven replied to my yelp review. I want to state that Steven immediately responded to my concerns & reached out to make things right. He mailed out vouchers to me & my family. We went back a few weeks later, & the experience was much cleaner & pleasant. I really appreciate Steven taking care of us & actually taking the time to reach out! Thank you! Plus the food was delicious! Way to go Steven! Disgusting to eat here. Gnats/Fruit flies everywhere! They were landing on me & my family's bowls like confetti! @I asked the employee if there was something they can do, & she said no. She then blamed it on having the Sauces on the counter & the hot weather....it's 6:30pm with a temperature of 72 degrees! I say ok, & decide to go sit outside with my family to eat. Well, 6:44pm & the employee had already put away all the tables & chairs. Mind you, when we arrived the tables were there, but while we ordered he put them away. I go & ask if we can't sit outside anymore? As they didn't close until 9pm. The employee says there suppose to put the tables & chairs away at 7pm. I said ok, but it's only 6:44pm, so your telling me I can't eat outside? Both employees looked upset, but did bring out the tables & chairs for us. I tried to explain to the employee that we just wanted to enjoy our food without the Gnats flying in or around our food, & outside there was none of that. He didn't care. I did not enjoy my meal at all. I wonder how many Gnats I ate today! BTW, the front counter was left unattended for a very long while.

Very appreciative and it should be noted!…read more I ordered 2 double doubles and 1 animal style fries. I was order #62. The couple behind me ordered their order and presumably, they were #63. After some waiting, they start calling out orders and somehow the couple behind me got to the front and took the bag. I thought I had heard the employee say #62, but in all that chaos and loudness, I couldnt confidently say or hear it. Eventually, order #63 came up, but was never claimed for a good 20 minutes. I asked the cashier if they can check on my order #62, and they checked the kitchen. Turns out my hunch was correct, and that the couple behind me took my bag. I didnt make a big deal out of it, and the employee said they will remake my order. After waiting for probably 30 minutes total, they were all they way up to calling orders in the 80s. When they gave me my order #62, the employee gave me 2 free gift cards for the waiting and hassle. Im very glad and appreciative of them for handling it very professionally. Just understanding that both parties make mistakes makes all the difference. It also probably helps when you dont be that one angry Karen customer when mistakes happen. Thank you! The staff there are amazing and understanding. Food is top tier like any other In N Out.

This was my first time at this particular In-N-Out, but I've been to about twenty others and loved every one of them. The Buena Park location was as good as the rest. There was a long line at the drive-thru, but parking was easy and the actual restaurant wasn't that busy. We ordered and had our food within fifteen minutes, probably less time than it would've taken us to get through the drive-thru line. (I have found this to be true at almost every location.) Service was great, as always. In fact, my three-year-old dropped his cheeseburger on the floor after a few bites, and we got it replaced on the house, just like that. The kids also got little In-N-Out sticker activity books to play with, which kept them entertained for minutes at a time. I got my usual order, a double double with grilled onions and a heaping side of whole yellow peppers from the condiment stand. Pure deliciousness. My boys got a grilled cheese and a plain cheeseburger, and they both ate well. We got some fries, too, and while I'm not a particular fan of In-N-Out fries, I ate my fair share of them. We hit the bathrooms on our way out, as we had a long drive ahead of us, and I noticed the bathroom situation was less ample than the typical In-N-Out, maybe because this one wasn't right off the freeway (I do think the restaurant was smaller overall, but this was the only way that mattered for us). Just a couple of single bathrooms instead of the usual stalls, and we did have to wait to use them. In any case, this was an excellent, easy dinner, the perfect way to end a long day in Buena Park. I look forward to my next In-N-Out meal, wherever it might be.

It's a small gesture, but it immediately made us feel welcomed. We decided to go with one of the combo meals, which came with boneless crispy fried chicken, cheese tteokbokki, and fried potstickers. We also added an order of corn cheese because... how could we not? The chicken lived up to the hype. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in a sauce that had me licking my fingers without shame. The cheese tteokbokki was exactly what I was hoping for. Chewy rice cakes swimming in a rich, spicy, cheesy sauce that kept me coming back for another bite. The corn cheese deserves its own paragraph because wow... I understand why Korean restaurants serve this. Sweet corn covered in gooey melted cheese is one of those dishes that sounds simple but somehow disappears before you realize it. The fried potstickers rounded everything out nicely and added another crispy bite to the meal. And because apparently we hadn't eaten enough, we finished with Dippin' Dots for dessert. It was such a fun way to end the meal and brought back a little childhood nostalgia. Overall, the portions were generous, the food came out hot, and the whole spread looked as good as it tasted. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to whenever the Korean fried chicken craving hits.

I get that my group was slightly larger because there were 7 of us but saying that 2 hours before closing was slightly ridiculous. Ambiance was clean and standard for a Korean fried chicken restaurant. Now onto the food... chicken was good but not the best Korean fried chicken I've had. The fish cake soup was $25 for only three sticks of fish cake which is MUCH too overpriced for what it was. The taste was solid but also basic and felt like something I could make at home... not special. The chicken gizzard had a good texture and flavor which was nice. The tteokbokki wasn't chewy enough so we weren't that big of a fan. The fries were freshly fried and good but it's hard to mess up freshly fried fries. Overall food was solid but not the best.
