I ordered a combo of chicken and steak with rice and veggies. Everything was cooked well and had great flavor. Their special sauce, a combination of teriyaki and ginger, is addictive! I love finding restaurants that help me continue a healthy lifestyle. If you are a college student this restaurant is probably further than you are accustomed too. Located in a shopping strip parking is available and in good proximity. The menu is nice and simple and I love it because they portion out your protein. The rice is of great quality as well. I typically get the the bowl which has 5 oz of protein with rice. You will have your choice of chicken or beef and can mix the two. You can add veggies and green onions to add some vegetables. For a healthier option the food is affordable and worth it in my opinion, and if you want a little more they have a bar of sauces (spice factor). I suggest you try the magic sauce! read more

This is the blandest food I've eaten. So disappointed that there are three mixed veggies, no other selection, and they are unseasoned and must've been steamed for about two seconds. The rice is also flavorless and not well cooked. The chicken was alright but nothing amazing considering the tasteless bed it was served upon. Flame Broiler was the restaurant selected to cater the annual synerG Lead Your City event (in 2019), and I enjoyed the Angus Beef Bowl for lunch during the event. I though the beef was cooked well and the amount surprised me (it was a lot of beef!). The vegetables were also cooked well, but were not as plentiful as the beef (still a good amount, though). I look forward to trying more offerings at their actual location in GSO. read more

Flame Broiler delivers on their promise...simply healthy quality food! I come in frequently and order the Half and Half mini bowl with brown rice. It comes with Angus steak, grilled chicken, rice, veggie mix and then it is topped with green onions. I then top with their flavorful Magic Sauce (mixture of soy and teriaki, I believe). This bowl is very filling especially at only $5.87!!! Don't let the word 'mini' fool you. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating, especially if you are a newbie. Seating is ample (love the community table along the center) and the eating area is always nice and tidy. If you have not visited, you are missing out. read more

I've driven by and finally decided I had to try it. I was not disappointed. Your base it white or brown rice. Yes...its not a over flavored rice...it's not meant to be. Duh! I had the half and half of Angus beef and grilled Chicken. Bothe were marinated in a teriyaki sauce and not overly so. I had only green onion to top it. It was delightful. I added their Magic Sauce, for a little extra yumminess and their extra hot sauce, because I like a punch. The server was polite and eager to explain the menu. The price was reasonable. The service area and table seating were very clean, and the restaurant was bright and inviting. Nothing negative to add. read more

UPDATE: I returned to Flame Broiler today (10/4/17), and they do indeed offer tap water at no charge from the fountain drink dispenser. This option makes my cost very competitive with other restaurants offering rice bowl specials. Therefore, I'm changing my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. I have been to Flame Broiler a couple of times since it opened. I enjoy the food with the chicken/rice bowl being my favorite selection on their compact menu and like some of the sauces I've found in their "sauce bar" area. The staff is enthusiastic, friendly, and was especially helpful on my first visit explaining what options you have in constructing your meal. Service tends to be fast and efficient at least as long as patrons ahead of you in line understand the process and pretty much know what they want. When they don't, you just have to be patient while the restaurant assists them. One thing I would like is the ability to order water as my beverage at no cost. Drink selections are fountain drinks, bottled water, and bottled soda, which adds about another $2 to the bill, making my tab noticeably more expensive than other sit down restaurants that have meat and rice bowl offerings as part of their menu. It's not hard to add a water option to the array of fountain drink choices, and if Flame Broiler would do that, I would return even more often. read more

The serving size was just right for me but if my boyfriend had come he would have been hungry an hour later. I got a regular size bowl(which about the size of a standard cereal bowl). You have the choice of two different forms of rice mixed veggies, two choices of meat or tofu and sauces. The rice was cooked perfectly. There was nothing special about the veggies just simple frozen broccoli mix. The supposed Angus beef was a bit dry and grainy and lacking flavor. The sauce was very tasty but nothing special. Even tho the meal was low on expectations, I will try again with other choice combinations. I can't say it was worth the price I paid but a good choice for a fresh non fast food meal. read more

I ordered my food through DoorDash and had an issue with the delivery twice. Both times, the driver left it in front of the wrong door. I couldn't get through to DoorDash's customer support so I called the restaurant to seek some sort of resolution. Lily answered the phone and was very courteous and understanding while I explained what occurred. With no hesitation, she was eager to help! She contacted DoorDash to send another driver to redeliver for the 3rd time. Shortly after the first called ended, I called her back and said I would prefer to pick up instead. I didn't want to take any more chances. By this time, a good 3 hours went by since I've initially placed the order. In conclusion, Lily is the definition of customer service! I was visiting friends and family in Greensboro last weekend and finally got to try Flame Broiler. It did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and explained my options to me. I chose the rice and vegetable base with beef, while my sister chose the salad base with chicken. Both bowls were ready quickly and were delicious. I love sauces so I tried them all and my favorite was the Magic Sauce. My fourteen-month old son can be very particular, but was eating from my plate which I loved because it is so healthy. The owner's stopped by numerous times to check on us and even brought my son an orange. So thoughtful! It's rare to find a quick, healthy, cost-friendly meal option, especially one with such a great staff. I will definitely be back next time I am in town and will recommend to friends and family.
