I always used to pick up food from here. I would order it from grubhub so I wouldn't have to go on the line. But I was just so disappointed from my last two orders, the new guy by the counter had me line up (both times!) just to pick up my order which was already sitting on the counter ready to be picked up. I thought by the second time it would be different, but still had to go through the same thing. And no, there weren't that much people so just taking a little bit of time to hand me my order wasn't going to make someone die of hunger. This is the closest one to my place. Healthy and convenient. Kids like it which is a plus. But this location is really bad about answering their phone. Sometimes they'll pick up and other times I'll call like 5x without a response, and then at that point I just go in to order in person. im not a flame broiler fan, but if its choosing between Chinese Food I would go with Flame Broiler instead. Vege mini bowl is good...pretty small even for a mini and pretty pricey for the size without a drink is about 7 bucks. This location is surrounded by other small restaurants and fast food for other choices. The two times ive been here, someone is always cleaning the dining area, which is good. I think it depends on who the cook is, cause the other time i bought a mini veg meal it was a mess...this time it was much better, much more appealing. read more

Oh man, now I know where my co-workers get this lunch from. Thanks Judy H. for putting up the address and info. We always have a pool of people that would bring back lunches every once in a while. Whenever the so called Teriyaki chicken bowl was bring back from here, I always never seemed to finish this bowl. The cold slaw or imitation of it was soggy and over-drenched with weird mayonnaise sauce. The Teryi-Yucky chicken is edible, but the rice is way overcooked and usually very dry by the time it made it back here (Our work place was only a few minutes away). Yes, I could have gotten lunch for myself elsewhere. It's just whenever this particular co-worker bring lunches back from here... I say a little prayer before eating this contraption. Sorry Yoshinoya, move out the way! Flame Broiler is awesome, and I am glad there are more store fronts everywhere. I generally get the beef plate with white rice and kimchi (instead of salad). This place does not have kimchi :( No kimchi equals a minus 1 star. Some people don't like kimchi in general, and that's okay. The one that is served at Flame Broiler is ridiculously good. I haven't been to every Flame Broiler, but the one near CSUF has the delightful kimchi. It's by far the most balanced kimchi I have ever tasted. Some places are too sour, others are not spicy, some lack flavor, or the fermented smell is too over-powering. Sorry to steer away from the topic, but this place is very nice and clean. It's in a really busy plaza -- sometimes parking is a hassle. I recommend calling in your order, especially if you have a 30-minute lunch! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, If you're health-conscious there are options for brown rice instead of white rice. I hardly get the steamed vegetables because the plate comes with a salad and an orange. I have gotten an apple a few times. I feel pretty healthy eating this stuff, until I start pouring the addictive magic sauce A-L-L O-V-E-R my meat -- I want to buy barrels of that stuff along with their regular hot sauce. This place is conveniently very close to my work, so I end up coming here for lunch. But that's just it... I end up coming here because nothing sounds better. It's just okay. It's a good fall back if I have no cravings or no other options. During the lunch rush, this place gets crazy. It's right near tons of office buildings, so I highly recommend calling in your order. But this can be a huge hassle. They don't have a very good system for this yet, so they'll answer the phone, ask you to hold, and then just drop the phone for a few minutes (not joking... a few minutes) while they take orders. The service is lacking and they don't seem to care a whole lot, they just want to deal with the people and get them out. I always get the mini bowl, and I ask for white meat, no rice, all veggies (but no cabbage!), and green onions. If you ask for veggies but don't say no cabbage, that's pretty much all you'll get. The meat is a bit dry, so make sure you grab some sauce before you head out. This parking lot is a bit dangerous... lots of people in a rush to get somewhere. Before they opened, someone came to my work and plastered coupons on every car in the lot. My co-worker went out and collected them all before people returned to their cars to even realize it. Freakin` hoarder. LOL. Well, from my not so pleasant experiences, I never would have gone to a place that left an advertisement on my car. Weird, I know. But my co-worker insisted that I try this place and he handed me a coupon that he took off my car. Food is grilled to order. After about 15 minutes of wait time, my number was finally called. There were six bowls ordered before. Yes, I counted. I am very observant. I was on my 30-minute lunch so I grabbed some "magic sauce" and left in a hurry. I ordered the Works bowl and received a chicken bowl for free with my coupon. The Works consisted of chicken, beef, veggies, and rice. There seemed to be a lot of rice and a lot of cabbage. More than I would have liked anyway. But the chicken and beef portions seemed just about right. The chicken was good and the beef was tender and flavorful. And the "magic sauce" mixed in with everything just made it a whole lot better. I liked it so much, I went back again the next day. My whole office wanted it too so we called our order ahead and they were happy to oblige. Free food is good but when free food tastes good, it's great! read more

This is my second time visiting and the food was so good. They give you about 2-3 dollars discount if you get two regular chicken bowls. The interior was also neat and clean. Today, the cashier seemed very busy because there were a lot of customers. However, he tried his best to help the customers as fast as he could! First of all, I have been going to this particular Flame Broiler for years because of their larger chicken salad that they offer. TODAY, was the WORST experience I have ever had here. Not living in the area anymore, I haven't accumulated as many stamps on my stamp card as fast as I used to, nonetheless, today was my 10th stamp which would reward me with a free chicken bowl. To my surprise a new cashier woman would not accept my stamp card. WTF?! Apparently the card they had originally issued me does not apply here anymore because it doesn't have the address on it !? Are you flipping kidding me? This is the ONLY Flame Broiler I go to and the FIRST stamp on the card said LA PALMA FLAME BROILER. D: !*@#!@# Urgh ! Why would you give me a stamp card and put your stamp on it and continue to stamp it and NOT HONOR IT when I finally receive the prize at the end?! What happened to customer's are always right ?! Especially when they have proof that you're a dumb ass ?? As for the food. I was disappointed. Usually the chicken is more crisp and has more flavor but the chicken today was soggy and didn't have much flavor. You can sub rice for all steamed veggies. Love that they serve steamed veggies (versus stir-fry). For an even 'healthier' option, ask for "naked chicken" (aka sauce on the side). And even even healthier option, ask for white meat chicken (behold: naked white meat chicken is a tad dry). The beef is really delicious. They have sauce dispensers so you can portion out the magic sauce or hot sauce to your liking. This franchise location is my favorite!!! The amount of food you get is comparable to none!!! Try Yorba Linda's for instance or Ontario (those two are from one franchise owner) and theyre gross, a pittance of brunt dry meat. I have never ever had a bowl here that was not consistently cooked and packed. There's no variation. There's no some days you get more meat some days you get less. Just good prices good portions and cleanliness. Having eaten at the one at universal studios this week which I loaaaaathe and only do in an emergency, this place reminds me why I love the chain so much. read more

The good: Food is overall tasty. Healthy and pretty decent prices, especially the $5 chicken bowl. I like how the chicken tastes, and sauce is pretty decent. Restaurant is clean and service is fine. Location is good, parking is adequate. The bad: Beef tastes like beef jerky warmed up on the grill. Teriyaki sauce is bit too salty for my taste. I've never had the meat come out hot - it's always been "kind of warm" while the rice is hot (this is after eating multiple times at this location as well as others). Overall a pretty good place to get healthy filling teriyaki. Just stick to the chicken and use enough sauce to get over how dry it comes out from the kitchen. read more
