Decided to eat here so that I wouldn't have to pay mall prices. Ehh price was pretty close. The food was just okay. The chicken was precooked and not to order. Not happy with this particular flame broiler. I asked where the sugar was and the cashier said we dont carry sugar. I said your kidding right you sell unsweetened tea but have no sugar. Then I asked for a chicken bowl and received a plate, I said I ordered a bowl the cashier goes we ran out of lids so we gave you a plate but there was much less in the plate than what would have been put in the bowl. Years ago, I used to visit this location for a quick, healthy option. I just recently moved back to the area and was very disappointed-- the quality of the service and food have gone down significantly. A previous review where a customer mentioned the older Asian gentleman (manager/owner?) who seemed genuinely annoyed that he was there, that was true to my experience as well. He was very dry and rude. He then went to the bathroom while I was waiting for them to *reheat my food (because it was definitely not made to order) and walked straight out from the bathroom and put his hands on my bowl. He set it on the counter and walked away to sit down and watch the news. Disgusting service and behavior. Why would I spend my money here when there are countless other options? I've been to dozens of Flame Broilers over the years. Always enjoyed having healthy food for a respectable price. I can't ding the food too much, since it's more or less the standard for this particular chain, but I have to knock off a lot of points due to the customer service. The older Asian gentleman running the register was either having a bad day or clearly didn't want to be there, perhaps both. While I don't expect everyone to be chipper like a Starbucks barista, he seemed actively annoyed that I was there. My order was a simple for here half/half bowl with green onions. They mistakenly made it with vegetables, and to go. Maybe this is some first-world problems, but if you're going to be annoyed that I'm there, at least get the order right. Food was otherwise fine, the Magic Sauce (which I'm sure is pure sugar, but delicious so I don't care) is great. Their hot sauce I'm pretty sure is just Sriracha, but still good. I might return, but if there's another rice-bowl place in the area I'm going there first for sure. read more

**UPDATE** Decided to give this place another try. Sadly I'm no longer a customer here. My chicken was COLD! Some parts of the meat were still pink. The only thing that was warm were my rice and veggies. I don't understand why they just won't make fresh chicken when customers order. Worst customer service I have ever experienced, the inside was filled with smoke and so hot as soon as we entered, this should have been a red flag. I asked the older Asian woman at the counter if I could use a coupon I had received in the mail, clipped from their own flyer, from corporate. She says "no" then grabs it, pulls out her personal cellphone and call someone, I'm still not sure who. We are standing in silence for almost 5 minutes as she waits for whoever is on the other line and studies the coupon. The restaurant is still very hot and filled with smoke during this ordeal, finally I ask for the coupon back and just walked out. I will never ever visit this trashy location again. By the 2.5 star rating of this dump is way too generous, wish I could give it a negative rating. Trash! read more

Please train your staff in customer service it makes a huge difference. We walked in weren't welcomed, the girl finally came to the front and had the worst attitude just ordering our food, we didn't have a complicated order either just ordered a chicken bowl & a plate. Then when our food was done she set it at the front didn't tell us it was ready, just walked back to the back & I had to ask if it was as it's sitting by the register. As a continued customer of Flame Broiler, there's a standard of taste and quality I respect about this food chain. Unfortunately today, such standard was not met. I ordered a beef plate with just rice and beef only and I made sure to repeat myself so the simple order wouldn't be messed. Guess what, the cashier still messed up my order. The owner and manager of this store needs to do better with their staff expectations. After I complained, the manager gave a nonchalant response and just gave me a small cup of rice on the side. To make matters worst, the food was hot and cold. With every bite, I would get a mixture of hot and cold rice. It was so terrible I couldn't finish my food. What's interesting enough is the cashier doesn't speak English very well and it shows by her getting my order wrong. It's not like the menu has 10 different varieties of food. If you can get a simple rice and beef plate order wrong, I wonder what other things in your life is wrong as well. This experience alone has probably made me to transition to WaBa Grill from now on. Came with my family after walking around the Ontario mills mall looking for some new rain boots for my 4yr old son. This has to be one of the best tasting flame broilers we have been to. This place isn't half bad. It's very similar to Yoshinoya in the sense that it's meat and veggies in a bowl. I typically, almost always, order the chicken bowl with the brown rice. Sometimes I get it with half rice and half veggies... and other times I'll get it with this option and change up the meats. The meat is pretty good. Hardly ever will there be fat portions. The chicken is tender and moist with lots of terriyaki flavor. They also have these sauces that I OD on: their "Magic hot sauce" and "Magic sauce", which is similar or more terriyaki flavor. I can't seem to have enough of this stuff. Overall, the food isn't shabby. Colleagues and I come here on our lunches for a hearty meal for less buck. About $5 for a chicken bowl. read more

I went in today at around 1:45 and a girl who was working the register, Connie, refused to give me more sauce. She had the worst attitude and said that each bowl is limited to two sauces which makes no sense and there's no sign that says that is the rule. According to her, I am forced to buy a sauce bottle if I need more sauce. All I can say is that if she isn't happy with her job then maybe she shouldn't be there. They have a tv in the dinning area and usually they have on espn or a sports event depending on the season. The staff is very nice and responsive too the consumers needs. Not good. I like me some Flame Broiler. It's kind of a Korean twist on a rice bowl, with fresh steamed veggies and lean chicken or beef. The kind of food you don't feel guilty for eating. That being said, this location was so disappointing. The store wasn't clean or well cared for. "Dismal" is the word that came to mind. We sat outside, but then the food wasn't up to standard ether. Mushy rice, and grisly fatty meat. It was awful. Pair all of that with lackadaisical service from a guy that looks like he would rather be playing video games and the experience was complete. 1 star is generous.
