I normally love this place and get great food and service here. I ordered my food on the app and when I went to pick it up there are 2 big signs that say you get a free avocado salad with any order of a bowl through the app. When I asked for the salad- they said I would have had to mark it as part of the order when I ordered. But there was nothing on the app about a free salad. I said I just should have waited till I walked in and ordered then. They said yeah. That's what you should have done. Very disappointed w this location. I have been to many flame Broiler's in my day and never have I been more disappointed, disgusted and let down at any other location as I was at this one. We ordered a chicken bowl and a chicken plate. The chicken in both entrees had an excessive amount of bone and left over skin. It was absolutely disgusting. This is a new flame broiler in this area. I will have to say that it is one of the better ones I've been to quite some time. The food is prepared fresh, quick and tasty. The smart money is to make sure that you get there before the lunch crowd as there are several major businesses in the area. Best time to get there around 11 o'clock. I ordered a chicken plate with white rice and a side of all white chicken. Cannot believe how much food they put on that plate. I really didn't need to order the side of all-white chicken. However that chicken went well with my lunch for the next day. I notice that the staff was friendly and it was extremely clean. I see that there was a lot of attention paid to the detail in regards to keeping the windows and the inside of the restaurant tidy and that is really a big plus. Restaurant is pretty dead most of the time I come in around 1pm which is great so I can have my order ready quick and leave. The staff is nice and food is good , just the lobby area looks very dated and the seats are uncomfortable. To avoid any traffic problems I would avoid coming to that plaza area from 2:30-4pm since after school kids are around the area and some times cars stop in the middle of traffic to pick up their kid. I ordered online thru the Flame Broiler website to make things easier for pick-up and delivery, of course I receive my order and the avocado is missing. The person delivering my food cannot go thru my order so they can not verify all items are included, I'm disappointed that these issues never fail to happen at this restaurant. Typical Flame broiler. Food is good, fast and efficient. The staff are ok as well. I tend to order the plate with no orange or salad. Rather just order veggies as a substitute. Great service, and I like that you can pour your own sauce here because I like to set up my plate accordingly. The service here is really friendly and they are always really accommodating. Parking is never an issue here and the wait time is pretty minimal. Its a quick healthy bite perfect for a quick lunch. read more

I'm a fan of Flame Broiler but I wouldn't say it's the best beef bowl but it's good enough. This place is located in the Von's Plaza with other business so there is lots of parking. The place is bigger than the Gardena ones. I just got a mini beef bowl good size to curb the lunch appetite. Service was pretty quick. Still fairly new. This is a good location for a couple of reasons. First there's plenty of parking in this large lot, especially off to the side of the building. And second, if you've been to other Flame Broilers, the inside seating is usually fairly small; this one is large by comparison. It's a good choice for lunch. They take your order and get it out to you fairly quick, even when there's a line. This is based on a single visit so I don't have any trends yet. If you get the Penny Saver in the mail (you know the one with all the fliers that you typically throw away). You can normally find coupons in here. Typically a couple of Buy one bowl and get one bowl free. And then maybe another coupon for a couple of dollars off. Every bit helps, right? So, on a side note, there is an ice-cream shop next door (you know the one). So, if you eat TOO healthy at the Flame Broiler, you can counter that with a stop next door when you're done. And then balance will be restored in your universe. What did I forget? Oh yeah; clean inside; lots of seating; they need to keep the magic sauce counter restocked during the unexpected rush. read more

Flame Broiler replaced the Yoshinoya Beef Bowl that was at this location. They did not have to do many renovations as the two have the same decor and similar menus. They may even have the same vendor supplying the bowls for their meals - they sure look similar in appearance and volume. Flame broiler is supposed to be semi healthy with skinless chicken in their offerings. Note to the lady drowning it in magic sauce - it's no longer healthy. Bowls are simply meat over rice. Plates come with meat, rice, salad and a wedge of orange. Self serve soda fountain, so you can have refills to quench your thirst. Parking is plentiful here. They share the lot with a market and other small strip mall type businesses. read more

I went to this business on October 26 2019 around 12 in the afternoon to order two chicken bowls to go, upon arriving at my house and began to eat I found metal shavings in my food. I call to let them know about the issue and I would like a refund and they tell me that the only way I can get a refund is to drive back to the store. I let her know the location is far from my house and the only reason I visited their location was because I had business in the area but I don't have any reason to drive all the way over again. They tell me their sorry and can't help so I ask to speak to the manager. The manager kept refusing to speak to me claiming he was busy and I let them know I felt my situation was serious and I needed to speak to the manager , the manager Jose finally picks up and tells me very rudely he can't help me and that he is to busy to talk to me and to call back later. I tell him I don't appreciate him taking the situation lightly due to the fact I almost swallowed metal shavings I had to spit it out. He continues to tell me he is to busy to talk to me and says he wants me to call back later and as I tell him I want him to help me with my issue now he hangs up on me. He said: "You need to be educated" when her son was right next to her. When it's my turn to order, I got cut by the phone order. This is lack of training for Jose bc this is the first come first serve restaurant. He could hold the phone, but he wants his revenge on me for standing up for the lady in front of me. You can never really go wrong with Flame Broiler. The food here is just as good as all other Flame Broilers. Generous amounts of delicious meat, veggies, and rice. I always get the chicken with veggies and brown rice - yums. The only thing really I can review on is the service and cleanliness of the place, which I thought were good and good. It was pretty empty when I went (Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m.) so it was really clean and quiet. The cashier was fairly nice too. Its whatever. The food all taste the same. The sauce is kinda sticky and leaves a mess. The flavors are great at first and then they just get tiring. There needs to be more of a fresh component to their menu to make it more enjoyable rather than having watered down not properly cooked steamed veggies that have lost their flavor. Either way if you're looking for a decent meal go ahead for that. Also the flame boilers I've gone to have been sooo messy. Residue from the sauce all over the floor and equipment even the tables! Service was a big, fat 0. The food was a 3.5. We stopped in and ordered 4 plates to go. The cashier was really rude and kept chatting with the girl in the kitchen. Somehow the two people behind us got their food first, but we didn't say anything. Then the cashier tried to hand us only 3 plates of food. When we told her we ordered 4, she insisted that we didn't. Even after we showed her our receipt, she still had a major attitude about it. We got home with our food and it was alright. My beef plate had a lot of fat, but the flavor was incredible. However, the cabbage contained a lot of stems/cores and all 4 of us received very sour/unripe oranges. Places like this make me wish Teriyaki 7 in Hermosa had never closed down. read more

Yep. I'm a fan. This place is so much better and healthier than Yoshinoya. I usually get a chicken and veggie bowl and it's always really great tasting and fresh. I LOVE that it's not doused in sauce. There is sauce on the side and you can help yourself to ample amounts of it if you want, but I like that the chicken is mostly clean. A lot healthier. And the chicken is REALLY good. The brown rice is tasty too! And I don't even like rice. Love their hot sauce. So yummy. This location is very clean and it's never been packed when I've gone. A long time ago, we used to get coupons to this place. The pictures of the food looked good. However, I never got a chance to check this place out. I also never really saw any of these places. The other day I noticed this place, so I thought I'd try to check it out the next time I would be in the area. I finally went to this place last Monday around 730p. I got the Half and Half (chicken/beef) Plate with vegetables and rice. This place was not busy, and I got my food in less than 2 minutes. The worker who helped me was really nice. Although, the food was edible, it really didn't taste or look that great. The food really isn't that cheap, so I did eat the whole thing. Before writing this review, I quickly had glanced at a few reviews. I noticed someone had written that this place had a "B" grade and thought this place was clean. Before going to these restaurants, I always try to check the grade, hours and menu. It's always that one time when you don't check it, it happens. I didn't think too much because I thought this place didn't look too dirty either. But sure enough, it's a "B". I would not have gone to this place if I had known it was a "B". I love Flame Broiler but this one is always the worst....Ive eaten here a few times and and workers are always talking to each other instead of the customers. Portions are skimpy and last time the chicken was like rubber. Other FBs seem to have more quality control than this one for some reason, not sure if they are franchised or what. Also on the day I went the outside was really dirty, entry doors were filthy, windows had new grafitti on them and there were a bunch of tacky Xeroxed signs all over the inside of the place like Dont to this Dont to that.... The forks are also the CHEAPEST ones on the planet... Bottom line the place just doesnt have it together. So I decided to have a healthy dinner tonight. And wanted to go with Flame Broiler. I haven't been there in a while so my expectations were actually pretty high. Being that I have just frequent waba grill and disappointed in there change of how they serve the sauce now pre packaged. So that persuaded me along to go with Flame Broiler being that I am indulging in the sauce it is my favorite!! Upon walking in it smells like a hospital of cheap bleach but I could tell the establishment was clean from my views. The cashier greeted my friend and I and took our order I ordered chicken and beef with veggie bowl with white rice. And my friend ordered a chicken veggie bowl with white rice. We were able to pack our own sauces as much as we wanted! (did I mention I love the sauce.) When we got home I notice how the bowl was a little light for it to be supposably pack with two different meats rice and veggies. Don't get me wrong Flame Broiler was great tonight and so was the cashier but proportion wise they were definitely falling short of their competition which is waba grill. They have a dispenser with something called "magic" sauce. Its teriyaki--but good teriyaki sauce, I'll give them that. It's a healthier version of Yoshinoya, and the food tastes better too. The beef is not fatty, but pretty dry, so I'd just get the chicken which is pretty good. You can also upgrade to all white meat, and for nothing extra get brown rice. Is it as tasty as Rascal's? Yes, and maybe better. In my memory, Rascal's stood as the best teriyaki in South Bay, but I recently tried the one in Gardena and it was not good at all. However, i ordered over the phone and Luis (the employee) answered the phone and immediately said "hold please" not even a "Hi this is Flame Broiler Redondo Beach, im going to have to put you on hold for two quick seconds." This does a number of things. 1) let's the person on the phone make sure they are calling the right store 2) makes sure the customer understands what you're talking about. And 3) just generally a good thing to say especially for Customer Service. I've worked at a flame broiler before and I would've never been able to get away with this if there was a manager present. Customer service should be top priority over the speed of the business. I would've understood if it was busy, I get it. But when I showed up, barely anyone in the store. Not trying to beat down on Luis, however, would like the manager to follow up with him because he is a nice kid and wouldn't want him to be reprimanded. I got a chicken bowl for takeout and when I was eating it at home, I spotted a strand of hair in the food. This totally spoiled my appetite but I thought It probably was an accident and I wanted to suck it up and move on but It didn't end there. As I was picking through the food to check the rest of it, there were these weird black stuff on ALL of the the veggies but mostly on the broccoli stalks. The black marks didn't look like burnt marks but rather like someone took the veggies and rubbed it on a dirty floor. Maybe they used veggies that has gone very bad or it's a hygiene issue....the food didn't look safe to eat period. I was so grossed out that I ate some of the food before noticing this. I still feel nauseated from this. The standards of hygiene of this Flame Broiler location at Redondo Beach does not look too good at all. This place is decent. Honestly, I wouldn't come back just because there are plenty of other Flame Broilers around. But the place seemed clean and the cashier was very friendly. There is a B in the window which I didn't notice until after I had ordered. But the place was clean so maybe they improved since then. The food was just OK. It came out with no sauce which I'm not used to. But not a big deal, they have sauce on the counter so you can add as much or as little as you want. The flavor was fine.
