Went for lunch Friday 2 PM, not too many clients, only 8 others. This place is fairly large, nice, clean, bright but the food selection is very poor, about half at the Fullerton branch. The Mongolian cook way over cook the beef and vegetables, beef so tough inedible, vegetables all mushy, and I told him again and again to cook it rare. Mexicans always over cook. Unless these buffets can hire cooks who can do proper stir fry, they should get rid of the Mongolian section. This place is not worth coming back. read more

Food was horrendously bad. All of the hot dishes are lukewarm, and all of the cold dishes are lukewarm. No matter what you order, your food is served to you lukewarm. This is discomforting considering the raw fish they are serving. The facility was reasonably clean, but when you walk past the kitchen and use the bathroom and the spectre of food poisoning is ever present. It's not a matter of what dish do you want to eat, it's a question of what dish can you eat and avoid botulism. They don't even label the food at the buffet line...just roll the dice. This is one of the most outdated buffets I've ever been to! Like 1982 outdated!!! You could tell everything was bottom tier from the discount seafood freezer because crabs were skinny/small, same goes for the shrimps and crayfish. Honestly, I could let the sizes pass and flavor wasn't bad but everything was so overcooked that it was hard to get out any of the meat on the shells. Despite everything being overcooked, items were either lukewarm or cold ... even freshly brought out items were slightly warmer than lukewarm. My husband barely taste tested a few things and somehow still got food poisoning. Smh. Another buffet review. 3rd one we've gone to in a week's time. Second time at a Flaming Buffet, 1st time at this Chino location. The picture of short ribs is very misleading bc there were NO short ribs at the Whittier location nor this one!! I'm glad I know now for sure that Flaming Buffets don't serve short ribs. [I'm trying to see if there is another buffet that can match Asia Buffet in Lake Forest] However, if you love seafood then this place is definitely for you! My sweetheart and I had early dinner here. Very affordable and decent buffet when you're in a pinch, don't want to cook, and are hungry. Even on weekdays, they serve sashimi, grilled meats and noodle to your liking, and variety of food items. I love their cocktail shrimp and their crab legs. Sashimi are fresh, sushi is decent, and seafood is not bad. Wait staff are friendly and they help clear your table after every plate you clear. My family and I went on my sons birthday and we let the host know this and he asked us to provide proof of my 12 years birthday. I'm sorry, but no one's carrying around a birth certificate for a child. I'm pretty sure school IDs don't even state their date of birth either. I'm not sure why they claim to have a birthday deal on the window when they ask you to provide proof, mainly for a child. It didn't matter too much because we can afford to pay for his food. I just found it really weird since this was the first time I've been to a restaurant that asked for proof for a child's date of birth. They don't really have a large selection but it was good. Mainly giving a low rating for the unprofessionalism. Some of the employees were just sitting around on the phones and no one was really checking on their tables. Maybe take down the sign that offers a birthday deal if you're not going to honor it because you assume people are lying. read more

Not many buffets have survived the pandemic. With that said, we were excited to finally try this buffet! Wednesday night dinner is the seafood buffet while the weekends have prime rib all day. We went on Wednesday during seafood night and there was no line. They had steamed snow crab, salt and pepper fried soft shell crab, crawfish, snails, baked oysters, etc. All the food was on point with flavor. The seasoning was perfect for me. Not too bland, not too salty. The soups taste like what they should taste like! Which is not always the case in a lot of buffets. The salmon sashimi tasted fresh but the slices were pretty big. The beef from the broccoli beef was surprisingly tender and flavorful. When you get the Mongolian bbq though, ribeye is not recommended. It was kinda tough. But the seasoning was perfect! We tried the spicy sauce and it was decently spicy! Might try garlic next time. For ice cream, they only had these ice cream cups that looked a little sketch. But it was actually pretty good, like neopolitan ice cream but each flavor was put in a different ice cream cup. Selection is not as massive as other buffets but I think the quality and taste is worth it. Overall would definitely be back to try the rest of the food. I visited this restaurant yesterday, January 2, 2026, and had a very disappointing experience. My family and I arrived around 2:30 PM and were eating peacefully. Around 3:20 PM, my son went to get another serving when a waitress came to our table and told us we could no longer get food because it was now dinner time unless we paid the price difference. I felt very embarrassed, especially since this was said in front of my family. Shortly after, another young lady came to our table and repeated that we could not get more food. I explained that I was not done eating and asked if that meant we could no longer get food, and they confirmed that we could not unless we paid the difference. I have never experienced this at a buffet before, especially when we arrived during lunch hours. The way it was handled made us feel uncomfortable and disappointed. 3 stars because it's all you can eat, edible for the most part, and I didn't get sick. 2.5 sums it up. Here's why.... The place is ok. Clean enough, but it smells a little funky. Saw a couple other complaints about dirty silverware, and we had a couple dirty forks in our roll ups. The staff did not smile....at all. Looked unhappy to be there.... The food.... There was this chicken on a stick looking thing.., it was pretty good, as was the rice.., that's pretty much it... everything else I selected, ESPECIALLY the finger foods (egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, etc) were COLD.. no exaggeration.. other things were just quite tasteless. Finally it was open!!! This has to be the cleanest buffet in the I.E. Gloves and hand sanitizers at all of the stations. Everything was fresh and constantly refilled during our visit. The variety was slightly disappointing, however, we made the best of it. The staff were quickly responding to the seated guests. The overall atmosphere was nice and pleasant. Two things I wasn't impressed with: the Sushi and the Fried Rice. The sushi/California rolls were bland and the fried rice was hard and dry. Everything else...Kudos!!! Like all respectable buffets, Flaming covers all the buffet station staples: Chinese food, sushi, fried goodies, a salad bar, a Mongolian grill, etc. What I like about buffets like this one is the freedom to consume 2 pounds of orange chicken, 15 cream cheese wontons, and a dozen or so fried shrimp with a side of fries and a slice of pizza. Basically just eating all that my heart desires. Do as you please, Flaming has something for all of your needs. The food at Flaming is average at best on any given day - I've been twice on separate days. The food is replaced often so you're getting a fresh batch if you wait a little. While the stations are a little tight, workers bee line in between to keep it from feeling dirty or unkempt. For $13.99 for lunch, it's pretty damn affordable for what it offers. read more

Great customer service and the workers are extremely quick when it comes to picking up your plates. Can be super crowded but it's a buffet!
