About a week ago, my friends and I came to Flamingo A Go Go to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, the chicken sandwich I ordered was served raw. I immediately sent it back, but I chose not to order a replacement because I didn't want to delay the rest of the group, and we had already paid for parking for a limited amount of time. I had also ordered a side of ranch to go with my sandwich, but I was still charged for it even though I never used it because my meal was returned. Our waiter did ask if I wanted to order something else and checked the other chicken sandwiches at our table, which I appreciated. However, I left feeling that the situation wasn't handled appropriately. Once the sandwich was taken back, it seemed like the issue was quickly forgotten. I was disappointed that there wasn't a greater effort to make things right, especially considering that being served raw chicken is a serious food safety concern. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope that it helps improve how situations like this are handled in the future. read more

Boy. This had to be the slowest place I've ever eaten at in my entire life. It took them 54 mns to bring me a single Diet Coke, and 1 hour 46 mns for my food to come out. Disclaimer, it was busy. But an hour to bring a coke is absolutely ridiculous. Pleasant surprise! We stopped for a bite after a few hours at the WWII museum while walking around town. The menu looked good and the staff was very welcoming at the front door. We were in town for a cruise and chose this spot based on recommendations at the hotel. We wanted something within walking distance that was family friendly. The place was bright and colorful and we were greeted right away. No crowds even though it was Saturday evening. We didn't walk outside, the host said the patio was full. Seated "upstairs" at a wobbly table. My husband was given a pile of napkins by the male that looked to be the manager( not the male that seated us). He was put off a little because no way was he going to get on the floor and fix the table. Our waitress came by, took our orders and when told about the table, she offered to fix it and did. There was a stack of coasters keeping it from wobbling and I guess they had fallen. Might be time to get rid of that table. Food service was fast and the food delicious. I had the Shrimp A Go Go po boy and it was very good. Dressed, lots of huge shrimp and a spicy sauce. The sandwich was huge and I was hungry, I almost finished it, which says a lot since I can't eat a big meal. Really cute place, lots of photo ops and a tablet at the front to do gifs and pics. Had to grab dinner and hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a great choice, started off rocky but in the end all was all good. The checkin was quick and we had plenty of options to choose from. The tables were wobbly so we ask to move or fix and the manager gave us a folded up napkin and that didn't work so the waitress fixed it and all was well. Definitely a tourist trap. Draws you in with its flashy art and cute decor. Then you sit for an hour waiting on mediocre service and drinks that never get refilled. Literally every restaurant within walking distance of this place is a better option. We have given this restaurant multiple chances, but will probably never be going back. read more

Flamingo a go go has a great deal on bottomless mimosas with the purchase of an entree for $21 during brunch. I tried prickly pear, orange juice, mango and strawberry. The staff was great. They checked on us often and kept the drinks flowing. There's outdoor seating as well but it was raining the day we visited. read more

Came for lunch on a weekday. It was one of those instances where you make a reservation then show up and the place is empty, so you don't even mention you had a reservation lol. I sat at the bar. There were a couple people sitting outside in the patio. I had the garlic parm chicken bites and garlic fries. I love salty fries and these fries were TOO salty for me. The chicken bites were great & a large portion. I also had the frozen flamingo - as a sober person, it made me happy seeing that they had a premade frozen drink that wasn't alcoholic. This place is so cute! I love the inside! They have a huge outdoor balcony where bands can come play as well. We ordered the pepperoni pizza or flatbread and it was okay. We had the "Blue Drank and some Froze's and those were all good! But mostly sugar so we had to get an extra shot of vodka to put on top and mix it in. Service was great. We sat right at the bar. Stopped at this fun patio for some afternoon drinks after walking around all day. Absolutely loved the cute setup and generally found staff to be super kind and helpful! We had a terrible experience with a mean bartender who seemed offended from us from the go. He didn't offer to take an order even though the place was empty, and continued to make mean comments as we waited for and paid for our drinks (to be clear we were completely sober, and just a group of four women!). You have to find street parking, but there was plenty of space available. It was definitely a busy day at the restaurant. Got to sit outside while we ate which was nice. Our service was excellent, the food and drinks were good, and the vibe was so great. Sparkles was our server and she was so friendly and helpful. She answered our questions with patience and was totally cool when one of our friends just appeared without warning. The blue drank was delicious and huge, although the Frose and the peach tea drink were good alternatives too. We paired our excellent drinks with the fried gulf shrimp plate, the shrimp and grits, and the fries. Everything was really good - the fried shrimp were so tasty i kept stealing them from my friends. Two entrees and the fries were enough to feed our group of 4. The place was clean, bright, and colorful and just felt homey and fun. After my incredible experience here on my last trip, it immediately made the list of must visit spots on my return trip 3 years later. At first, I was super bummed to see that my amazing breakfast dish of fried chicken with white gravy and eggs was off the menu but I ended up loving the southern fried chicken salad with a side of garlic fries and garlic parmesan chicken bites. I'm a sucker for good ranch and the ranch here hit the spot. The salad also had most of my favorite toppings (except for the bacon, which I removed as a non-pork eater). Adding a hard boiled egg would have made it perfect. We added bottomless drinks to our meal and enjoyed a mix of mimosas, froses and margaritas that our waitress just kept coming. For it being downtown this place has terrible service. We were told to wait 20 minutes and we sat at the bar when we got sat. We walked outside in the patio and the whole patio was literally free other than two other tables. It took 15 minutes for us to finally be greeted because we had to talk to the hostess that nobody has came and talked to us. 3 servers plus a manager walked by us and not 1 person greeted our table. We finally had someone talk to us. We ordered and once the food came she brought out the wrong plate. She apologized and said she rung up the wrong plate. We've been here a few times for brunch and late lunch and it's an okay spot - relatively unremarkable bar food. I would say the brunch food is better than the lunch dinner stuff. I was disappointed with the gumbo as it was very watery and didn't have much stuff in it. The kids shrimp and fries were really greasy and the e fries had a taste of seafood past...time to change the oil I guess. The blackened shrimp taco kit (build your own) was okay, but somehow they were watery/greasy too. The shining bit was the queso blanco and homemade chips. We chose Flamingo-A-Go-Go based on the name and didn't make reservations since we were watching parades and didn't know when we would be done. There was a 3hour wait without a res, but the bar was wide open, so we snagged a seat there. It's worth pointing out that it was raining so the patio was closed, leading to longer wait times, but I do suggest a reservation if you want a table. The bar experience was great. Since the weather was so dreary, we absolutely lived it up, trying all kinds of cocktails and snacks. There were several cocktails on special featuring King Cake vodka, so I may have tried a couple of those, while my husband got the Blue Drink on tap, that arrived in a carafe and lasted him through our time there. Get the Blasted Brussels Sprouts with pepper jelly glaze, roasted corn, sesame seeds. One of the best things I ate on this trip. We also both got the Gogo Po'boy with ried gulf shrimp, red pepper aioli, lettuce, tomato and lemon on french bread. It was fabulous, and so were the fries. Loved the space and the vibe.
