I visited Flamingo Grill during my trip to MB in Aug 2011. I have to say the food was great. We tried the appetizer sampler, and the lobster chunks were EXCELLENT. I actually wished we'd just ordered them alone. The calamari was tasty, although a little greasy. The crab cakes also tasty, but the crab meat was very shredded. (I expected to get some chunks in there.) I ordered the Salmon with Otis topping and my BF had the prime rib. Both were fantastic. Food was great, service professional but you could tell very rushed. Restaurant was clean. Felt like a well run Friday's that features fish and seafood. Very crowded and loud. We're pleased to finally report that this handsome establishment has returned to our list of favorite eateries. We really want to commend the owners, the two Dino's, on all of the improvements, especially the extended and improved bill of fare. After a couple of adult beverages at the bar, we usually settle in for their Fried Cajun Oysters and Lowcounrty Crab cake appetizers, followed by their signature prime rib which is marbled and tender, and their Grilled Lemon Pepper Shrimp. With a New York flair, great food, reasonable prices and improved service, we've become regulars again. read more

This place was a great find... The food was great and the portions were large. I had an awesome lobster tail that was huge. I have not had one that big since I was in Maine... Our waiter Dave was attentive and friendly but not over the top. The food was delicious. We had the lobster bites and fried oysters to start. Perfectly fried but light and with great dipping sauces. The grouper special and the filet mignon with crab cake were our entrees. Both were cooked perfectly and presented as upscale dishes which is a bit of a contrast to the diner - ish (but much nicer) decor. The food was good (my girlfriend says just average), but the pricing was high even for Myrtle Beach standards. Especially considering the smaller portion sizes. Nothing was wrong with the meal or service, but nothing stood out either. I think this place survives mostly on its history. It seemed to be most popular with seniors. If you are only vacationing in Myrtle Beach for a short time, there are better restaurants to visit. read more

Was happy to find a restaurant that offered a good selection of steak and seafood. Once the meal arrived my happiness was short lived. The lettuce in my salad was so limp that I took a bite and left the rest. I ordered the grouper special. Luckily I ordered the sauce on the side as it was awful. The grouper was so over cooked and dry that it had no flavor. The peas (side dish) were over cooked. My husband's ribeye was fatty. With tip, dinner for the two of us was close to 100.00. I don't mind paying for a nice dinner but dinner tonight was NOT worth the money. Also looked over, rain was coming through the roof and leaking on a table. We won't go back. read more

We have been eating at Flamingo Grill for eons! Their She-Crab soup is some of the best North of Charleston. My husband loves their Prime Rib and I think their crab cakes are one of the best on the Grand Strand. Locally owned and operated since it opened. Wait staff is always pleasant. Owners wife makes the Peanut Butter pie and it goes fast. Order it ahead of time and get it to go if you think you won't have room. You won't be sad you did! read more

Flamingo is one of my favorite restaurants in Myrtle Beach! The lobster appetizer is delicious. My favorite entree is steak flamingo. The combination of the bernaise sauce, shrimp, and asparagus is just right. The staff is always friendly and well versed in which wines pair best with each meal. We came here for the first time with our group of seven. We had a very good service from our waitress. Everybody agreed on the awesomeness of the food. Very well prepared and tasted and beautifully presented on the plates. Definitely a place we would come back. The chicken fingers for our 9 year old daughter were very dry and not tasty; they did not charge us for that. My daughter had a salad instead and she loved it. The Irish coffee I had for desert was bad though. Made with Jameson whiskey (which is ok), but the coffee looked like tea and did not have whipped cream on top as it should. I guess this is the SC way (?) but I will not order this again. Apart from those two things we absolutely loved this place. Come and try it out for yourself! read more

We ate here during vacation. We were seated right away and the service was phenomenal. We both ordered the filet with the lobster bites. The filet was cooked perfectly and the lobster bites were very tender. I liked the sauce they were served with as well. It was also nice to just have the sides chosen for me so that I did not have to decide. The snap peas were great and the salad was delicious as well. I also enjoyed the garlic bread. We will definitely visit the Flamingo grill the next time we are in Myrtle Beach. read more

My husband, Steve, and I are here on vacation from Richmond, VA. We try to come down once in the Spring and once in the Fall and we try to eat at a couple of different restaurants on each trip. This was my husband's night to pick where he wanted to go. So after careful research and yelp, he chose the Flamingo Grill. The place has such a nice 50's retro vibe. Our server was Eric (he was mentioned in another yelp review). Steve ordered a filet Steak Oscar and I ordered a Salmon Oscar. We split a bowl of the She Crab soup. The food was amazing and so was Eric! This is what a dining experience is supposed to be like but so seldom is. We will definitely be back. read more

While on vacation at Myrtle Beach, we ate at all you can eat Seafood Places the best rated, and a Brazilian Steak House. Each costing us around $200 for a family of 4 to eat. We ate at the Flamingo Grill the last night before we left, and it was much, much better and much cheaper that the other places. We had filet and lobster, prime rib, flounder, and lobster, 2 order of lobster bites, and shrimp noodle stuff. everything we ate was great.. Not only was the food great but our service and atmosphere was great too.. Most people you could tell were locals cause they knew them by name.. I asked a shop owner at the Bare Foot Landing where was a great place for Surf & Turf and this is what she recommended. We got everything including 2 drinks for $162. You can eat much cheaper at this place but it was our last night and we wanted something to remember MB by.. The owner was walking around talking to people, even picking up plates to help. Before leaving I came up to the owner and told him how much we liked the place and told him the food was awesome, he thanked me and shook my hand. Just got back from Myrtle Beach. I had eaten at the Flamingo Grill previously. We both had the Prime Rib on this visit and it was excellent! For the house cut, it was more than a meal. Reasonably for a resort town and defintely worth the visit. While the service was excellent, though the decor could use some updating! read more

Good. Probably a good 3.5 star place. We left overall satisfied. This place has a neat theme - sort of 50s with neon lights, pictures of Liz Taylor and other old actors on the wall and some awesome vintage motorcycles. It was very busy when we arrived but the place has a lot of seating and we were seated within 10 minutes or less. Drinks were just OK. Nothing special on the beer menu but found a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to make due. My wife had a dirty martini that was just Ok. Many entries are very reasonably priced. My wife and I each got fresh market salmon which was only $17 and included a house salad and side of potato and greens. The salmon was very good, especially for the price. It made the meal. It was supposed to be Cajun, but was more like blackened. Do not expect strong flavors here. Everything seems served fairly plain. But a fresh lemon squeeze on the salmon was great and salt and pepper on the potato and greens worked fine. My oldest daughter had Cajun fried shrimp, and again, not much Cajun, fairly bland and more like just plain fried shrimp. She said it was just OK. My other two kids just had pasta and marinara. They did love all the garlic bread that came with the salads and the pasta. Again, great market fish, very fresh - alone easily 4 star but everything else pretty average. If you're here for a week on vacation, I'd still recommend slotting a dinner here. read more

Pretty average. Filets were cooked properly but one was pretty fatty and grizzly. The decor was a bit dated looking like a night club from a night at the Roxbury. Service was pretty slow and awkward. All in all was an average dinner but pretty pricey for what we got. read more
