Flashback diner is the classic looking diner with great food and service. I had the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. Mmmm mmm good!

You have to appreciate the huge breakfast lunch and dinner menu, gargantuan desserts and hours of 24/7/365. The breakfast dishes are always on point and as divey diners go, flashback is one of my favorites. Huge place, comfy indoor and outdoor seating; good service and pretty good food. The cakes they make would be good except the are so ridiculously enormous that they are usually stale. The 'real' cream cheese frosting could use more cream cheese and citrus zest. Some stand out items include the sour cream (which comes with the breakfast quesadilla). It has fresh veg and dill in it making for a crunchy delicious additive. While the salads are big and hearty as you would expect, they don't make their dressings so that negates what would be great. Chicken items like chicken fingers, southern fried chicken and chicken souvlaki were all a little dry. So as fast casual goes some points taken away for the quality of the finished products but points added for the fact u can get a fresh hot meal and a smile at 3am. read more

LOVED this diner/coffeehouse. So nicely decorated, chic, and great service. Oh, and can I also add that the food was on point?! I ordered fried chicken, which is a hit or miss in most locations. It took a while to serve, as you could tell that it was fresh and just fried. It was very moist, tasty and not greasy at all. I also thoroughly enjoyed the real, not boxed mashed potatoes that came w/the meal. My hubby ordered a yummy patty melt, that was also not greasy and very tasty. Good place if your fat! Get super unhealthy food at a slightly above average price. While your there you will get to watch other obese ppl shoving their faces. I went there and ordered the fruit and yogurt...they sugar there fruit and then cover the whole thing in honey...but if your trying to maintain your fat this is a great place! Went here for a late night dinner with my family and had mixed reviews. One got a special, which was greek chicken and it was awful. Another got a greek salad and it was also awful, you can tel the greek dressing is straight out of a low quality bottle. on the upside, one ordered the reuben which was delicious. My family and I have been coming here for many many years. Every time we come and it become worse and worse. This most recent visit, there was hair in my food. It was wrapped around a potato. A party the same size as ours sat and ordered after us, but they received our food before us. The food came out cold, and some of the orders were wrong. There are better places in the area to go. Perhaps the best diner in the area. The menu is page after page of Comfort food, and it is all made well. This is the place everyone can agree on. Kids love the tv's on every table. Absolutely enjoyed my lunch there today!! Went with my family & our server MARK (Jake from State Farm), kept us well fed & laughing thru our entire stay. We had the roast pork BB sandwich, the chicken salad club & something called the DelToro ?? (Chicken breast with monterey jack cheese & avocado). Ordered a simple southern fried chicken dinner with a baked potato & vegetable. The restaurant was not busy. Waited 20 min. & received chicken with apple sauce & a cold baked potato. The waitress took the food back and brought me only chicken, no potato & no vegetable. After eating 2/3 of my chicken, I received 2 corn cobs that were dry & cold. I don't go to flashback perhaps as often as I should, because as far as diners go, it's a cut above the rest. I've been to the location in Hallandale and the food is just as good, however, the location in Davie is pretty unique and charming. You can sit inside or outside and outside is very nice. It's got a roof so you don't have to worry about getting wet and it's nice to enjoy those lovely Florida nights. If you opt for inside you can enjoy mini tv's in every booth so you can do the exact same thing you would do at home, but with better food. The menu is extensive with little delicious surprises sprinkled throughout, such as the matzo ball soup, which you probably wouldn't have guessed is as good as it is and now you'll try it and thank me, win. Another delicious surprise is the desert. I'm not sure if they are home-made, but they taste like it. They are very rich and flavorful, and if you get a slice of cake be ready to share it or take some home because the slices are huge. I'm not overstating that, the SLICES ARE HUGE! On Friday's and Saturday's there is Karaoke out on the bar. For timid ones the wine and beer on the menu will help with performance anxiety. It's still a family environment so you can karaoke without the typical drunkenness you might expect at other establishments. If they lowered there prices a bit to what you'd expect from a normal diner they would have a lot more business. They're open 24 hours and you can order whatever you want at any time. Their desert is probably the jewel, the biggest cake slices that take so delicious they give many places a run for their money. This place is great. They have vibrant and welcoming personalities that really make the service great. They don't have a problem personalizing the meals, which I like to remove cheese, add this and that, don't put the bread on the plate...blah blah blah...they did it and didn't give the standard, "yeah, but you still have to pay for it." Or, "I don't know if they will change it that much." They just said, "of course! Why shouldn't you get what you want?!" Then I got a Bloody Mary, and they make it from scratch. Yep-it's not zing-zang poured into a glass with some vodka. I was pretty satisfied. They don't get 5 stars because I was not impressed with the delicious looking cakes. While my wife and I were in this area looking for a place to eat breakfast this morning we saw this place and decided to try it. When we walked it the hostess had to get up from a table where she was eating at. She quickly got us seated. The place was clean and had small tvs at som of the tables not sure the reason for it but ok. The menu was huge and prices seemed ok. My wife had some sort of breakfast quesadilla and said it was very good. I had their hearty breakfast special with pancakes it wasn't bad but the bacon was under cooked and the pancakes were dry even after putting a decent amount of syrup on them. The waitress was not overly friendly or real attentive but was nice enough I guess. Not sure if we will go back or not. read more

I haven't had a bad experience and I've been eating here for years! Portions are HUGE and pricing is just right! All of the servers are amazingly charming and they have REAL hot sauce - Crystal's. I'm from Louisiana so we're picky about our hot sauce. Most places give you Tabasco which is a pepper sauce (don't believe me, check the label) but to find a Florida diner that offers hot sauce- YES!!! Hot sauce adds a bit of heat and loads of flavor. Tabasco just adds beat with minimal flavor. On my last visit, I had the veggie hash - DELISH! Others I. My party had the French Toast, chicken with mashed potatoes and the Reuben. I wanted breakfast :-). If you have a dog, sit outside and order from the "Doggie Menu." Too cute. read more

Amazing place! The food is awesome, and the best soup in South Florida. They are 24/7 so you can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner anytime of the day or night there. I've been here a few times for breakfast and none of them have been great. Food is plain and hastily prepared. Went for breakfast this morning and ordered scrambled eggs, bacon (well done) and hashbrowns with cheese. My eggs were undercooked and had some mystery leftover food from the griddle mixed up in them. Bacon was the opposite of well done and they threw two cold slices of American cheese on top of my barely warm hashbrowns. I asked our server to have everything cooked more. Round two - mystery food was still on my eggs which now were brown and horrible looking. The bacon was hot but still nowhere near crispy. My husbands eggs were also undercooked and his Belgian waffle cold and chewy. All in all it was disgusting. The manager saw our displeasure and removed my meal from our bill. It will still be the last time I ever eat there. read more

This was one of the worst experiences in my life. After trying to find an "American Diner" my sister and I decided to try this diner. We informed the waitress that we were both gluten free and was told not to worry. Since it was dinnertime we ordered the pork chops which was cut very thin and was quite rubbery. They were served with stuffing after being told that we could not eat bread. The beatles were very good and the mashed potatoes tasted like real potatoes. The waitress seemed unconcerned about anything that was going on and acted as if she was annoyed.This restaurant is very over priced for the quality of the food and the attitude. We will never be back and would never recommend this diner. I rather eat at McDonald's. read more

We ordered two oatmeals and as our meal came out the server decided to tell us that they only had enough oatmeal for one. The oatmeal that came was cold. They failed to bring the side orders were got. The girl had not idea what lox was and told me it wasn't on the menu, even though it was.
