I came here for dinner with some friends and we were thinking of trying out having breakfast foods in the evening time. I was very impressed with the food I got as the omelet and the fresh toast were very good and filling. I got the veggie omelet and it was very good, the eggs were cooked well and there were a lot of veggie toppings. The fresh toast was amazing and not too sweet. The only issue we had was that there was a bit of a wait on the service and the arrival of the food even though the diner was empty. Overall, would recommend this place and will most likely be going there again. read more

I have posted very positive reviews in the past about this place. Today will be different. I'm very big on giving places more than one chance to prove that they are worthy of going to. The only reason we go to this restaurant is to see our favorite server, Charlotte. In the past year or so, the quality of food has gone waayy down. Also, the place needs renovation desperately! We have been there twice this week and today was the day I decided to voice my opinion. First things first, they stopped serving biscuits and gravy on the menu! I did get a biscuit and a side of gravy with my breakfast, but the biscuit was microwaved to the point of being inedible. Like a stone. My veggie omlette was overdone, but at least it was hot. My hash browns were ice cold, so were my husband's. I traded my hash browns and biscuit for white toast. I also don't understand the upcharges! A dollar for a slice of cheese? $7 for grits with a slice of cheese? WOW! I also noticed that the servers were running around like they were shorthanded. I usually come here with a group that does karaoke at this diner. This diner has an outdoor patio and some kitschy indoor decorations which I'm not impressed with. Usually the food sits well with my stomach. Today I got very sick and I had left 90 percent of the plate over. I ordered a Floridian omelette with home fries and wheat toast. I only took a few bites of the omelette and noticed no cheese. They forgot the cheese. The omelette was supposed to come with Monterey Jack cheese. My group mentioned maybe the cheese was melted in the eggs. I tasted a few bites and indeed there was no cheese. I started feeling sick when I tasted the home fries. There is something about the sauce that made me feel sick. It didn't feel cooked enough. I immediately excused myself and threw up in the restroom. I told the waitress to take off the dish from my check mentioning I got sick. The waitress obliged and took the dish off the check. This incident made me enjoy the costume karaoke event a lot less. Overall because I got sick from the Floridian omelette I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for the time being. My suggestions are to upgrade the kitchen equipment, hire more sanitary kitchen staff, and to use less butter. I wouldn't mind if the health department came to check things out. . read more

After two years of living right down the road from Flashback, I finally decided I had to go check it out! The first thing I noticed when we entered was the musty smell. Not overwhelming, and not necessarily unexpected for a pretty old diner, but not pleasant either. The smell matched the decor, which was just in need of updating. The menu is MASSIVE. There are just so many choices ranging from breakfast to burgers to chicken pot pie, and even an entire Mediterranean-themed section. It was pretty overwhelming! I ordered the Floridian burger, which was topped with avocado and pico, and I added bacon to the burger for an extra dollar. The burger itself was pretty good! The bun was a little soggy for me so I ended up finishing the burger without the bottom bun intact, but it was still good. The fries were alright as well. My friend and I split a dessert, and we settled on the chocolate chip cheesecake. It was rich, heavy, and delicious! Definitely the highlight of the meal. I am glad we split it because it was RICH! My wife & I were up in Davie yesterday morning and we came across Flashback Diner. It looked cute from the outside so we decided to drop in for breakfast. We asked for coffee ($2.99) as we perused the menu and then once our server brought our drinks, we ordered our dishes. My wife ordered the Greek Omelet with toast & grits ($10.99) & I ordered the "Signature Potato Hash," which was described on the menu as being "sauteed with red peppers, green peppers and onions $6.99." While waiting for our meals, I asked our server for a coffee refill. And I waited....and waited...and waited. I finally got up from our booth, picked up my empty cup, and walked the length of the restaurant back up to the front. I walked up to the counter with my cup held out and asked the server there if she could please pour me a cup of coffee. She happily did so, I thanked her, and then I walked back to my booth and sat down. My own server never brought me the requested coffee, and did not offer later when I was once again sitting at my booth with an empty cup. As for our meals, my "Signature Potato Hash" turned out to be a normal plate of fried potatoes with a few miniscule pieces of peppers and onions (see photo). Moreover, it was both flavorless and served lukewarm. I took two bites and put my fork down. I then just proceeded to eat my wife's toast as she has Celiac Disease and would have been unable to eat it anyway. She said her omelet and grits were just so-so and only ate half of her order. When our server came to clear the table, I explained why I hadn't eaten my plate of potatoes. Without any prompting from me, she offered to speak with her manager and have the item removed from our check. The food tasted great but the service left some to be desired. I took my girls here for the first time to have a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant was dead but there were at least 3-4 hosts/ waitresses at the front desk. We were seated right away and asked for the drink order right away. All three of us ordered water, the water had barely any ice in it and was close to room temperature. Throughout our dining experience, we were not asked if we wanted a refill. I had to ask for my daughter to get a refill. The waitress only came over once to ask if we needed anything after we were almost done eating. When our food came out, my meal did not have the sides that were mentioned on the menu, I had to ask for them. I had to ask for napkins as well. I just feel like overall our waitress could have been more attentive. All the waitresses and hosts just seemed like they only wanted to hang out behind the register and chitchat or be on their phone. Awful establishment, I used to come here all the time. In the many times lve come in the past few months, the issues always appear on the daytime shift. Today, I got fed up and gave them the opportunity to fix it. I find it completely unacceptable that a restaurant can serve someone cold, uncooked food and fail to rectify the issue 3 times. First time I took my sandwich back for untoasted bread, they toasted one side and I made the huge mistake not to check it throughly upon getting home I also noticed only one side of the patty melt was toasted and half toasted at that and the fries were completely uncooked. I called the manager, Miranda, who questioned me over the phone and practically told me she believed her staff, who put out an unfinished order twice over me and only offered a half measure as a solution. We went here after driving to there east coast for the NHL all-star game. this was the first place we tried while there. I was hoping for good but it could not get there. started with the chicken soup, this was good. our sandwiches were, tuna melt and fries along with a pastrami sandwich which I asked to be served on white. We got our sandwiches, mine was served on rye, which I do not like. I sent it back, my wife continued with her tuna melt and commented some of the fries were not cooked. as my wife finished 1/2 of hers, mine arrived a table, it was the same fries which were cool and not 100% cooked. I was sadly disappointed by the quality of food from this place. I've been hearing good Things about this neighborhood spot. First we ordered a DOUBLE cheese burger and received a regular burger. When we informed the servers her literal words were "oh you told me cheeseburger". She didn't even offer to change it. Then I received my chicken pot pie which was not pie at all. It was has a block of flakey puff pastry on top. Look at the picture I posted. It would have been ok if it was tasty - except it was all very bland. The woman there who the assist manager was very nice but the guy manager who walks around like he is a in a bad mood and didn't even come to my table. My eggs came out clear not even Cooked. It's good but not that good and completely insane that the prices are more than much nicer restaurants in the area such as Another Broken Egg, First Watch, Vienna, Kristoffs. Great spot for breakfast food all day, as well as plenty of other items. My wife and I were suffering some jet lag and slept til noon and then hopped an Uber over to this place. It was great. I had Smoked Salmon Egg's Benedict and I specifically told them I wanted the poached eggs to be soft poached so the yellows would be runny. They delivered exceptionally well. It is a simple thing but I have found it to be a fact of life. If a restaurant can cooks eggs like you want them then they can cook anything well. My wife got French Toast which was a portion she could not complete. She also got some scrambled eggs and crispy bacon to go with it. I have been coming here for over three years and can say the menu and service has gotten worse and worse. There is some great things like the morning waitress Charlene! She has a great personality and is an amazing server. HOWEVER, Aside from that the food has disappointed time and time again. I used to frequent the flashback diner in Hallandale back in the day. After running a 5k at NSU this was the perfect stop to refuel! Huge menu. Typical diner food. Open 24 hours. I was really surprised that they had a drink menu available to chose from. They also had a variety of unlimited mimosa on the wkend. I liked the fact that they had mimosas mixed with something other than organs juice ( I normally end up making my own version of mimosas because I'm not big on orange juice). I had the big apple and it was really good. The fact that you could have drinks with your meals different kicked up the setting up a notch. This is a diner to avoid Hostess stand - 5 minutes to be recognized we were standing there. Offered two seats at counter, but with one person in between. Hostess tells my wife she should ask the diner separating us to move. We said no, we will wait for a table. At table - 10 minutes to be recognized by one server, that said they would send our server over. Another few minutes later server arrived. We placed order, for water, coffee and breakfast. 8 minutes later coffee arrived, 3 minutes after that water arrived, 20 minutes later food arrived. (31 minutes from seating to food) Food- little flavor and only lukewarm, butter wouldn't even melt on toast! Note: 2 other couples were seated after us, got their meal, ate their meal, paid check and left. Still no food for us. Back at hostess stand to pay - 3 servers chatting and folding napkins, took another 5 minutes to be recognized and allowed to pay.
