Like, if Zeus descended from Olympus and opened a wood-fired pizzeria on the north shore of Maui, this would be it. But let's talk about the real star: Kayla G. Kayla wasn't just a server -- she was the guiding light on our journey through melted mozzarella nirvana. Friendly, fast, funny, and so effortlessly cool, she could probably deliver your pizza telepathically if she wanted to. 10/10 service. Someone give her a raise, a bonus, a surfboard -- whatever she wants. Now, the pizza? Not "good for an island." Not "surprisingly okay." No -- this is hands-down the best pizza on Maui, and arguably anywhere with a postal code. We went out of our way to try this spot after the recommendation from a friend and we're glad we made the trip! It is situated right on the route of the Road to Hana and is surrounded by many cute local shopping spots. The menu was diverse and they have rotating meat- and meat-less pizza options. We tried both (meatless not pictured, but it was a crazy good potato/garlic/cheese combination) and finished 3 large pizzas between the 5 of us. We've been coming here for at least over a 12 years and absolutely love it. Their menu is simple: great selection of flat bread pizza and an awesome mixed greens salad. There's a huge salad that can feed eight or share the individual between two. The flatbread is thin, has crunch and a bit of bite. Not overloaded on the toppings making it very balanced. I love everything from their "Jay's Heart" which is a combination of cheeses and garlic to their pepperoni and black olives and Pele Pesto. The servers are very attentive and you'll never have a low water glass. The place is very kitschy with a rustic surfer feel that is part indoor and part semi-open air. The Pele pesto is always delicious. It is saturated with oil and my hands always turn black from holding the slices. Service was less than desirable and leaves me hesitant to dine in after years of going here. Waiter shift change or low staffing?! Either way, check in to make sure we got what we need is important for patrons. I could go on complaining about this and that but my review grade will match my experience. The second space dining is very dirty. Everything is so dusty and needs to be cleaned. Kinda gross thinking about it and seeing while eating food. Check out that fan. The staff here were super friendly and efficient. They never weee constantly refilling drinks and making sure that we're doing well. The pizza was delicious. We ordered a pesto, a pepperoni with mushrooms, a cheese, and the bbq one with pulled pork and pineapple. All of them were really good. After hearing about their "Mopsy" pie with slow-cooked free-range kalua pork shoulder, homemade mango BBQ sauce, organic red onions, fresh pineapple, goat cheese, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, and garlic oil, I knew I HAD to come here for dinner at least one night I was visiting the island to try this pizza. My friends and I ordered one Mopsy and Taco pie. Both of them were good, but that Mopsy pie ... BAYBEEE it was delicious. We couldn't get enough, tbh we wish we had ordered two of them instead of the taco pie, actually we did try to order another one but the kitchen was closed, and they were still doing dessert. The lilikoi cheesecake was delicious. I will say be wary that it's more on the tart side; however, I still enjoyed it. We dined here twice in the last two weeks and of the total of 10 large pizzas ordered, all were very soggy in the middle even the cheese only ones. We also noted that the wait staff were not as nice and friendly not just to us but also to the other people around us. That is quite a change as we always had experienced the wait staff as being very friendly. We were a bit disappointed at our experience as this place has been a must visit every year we are in Maui. Everything at this place is amazing, the flatbread and pizzas are some of the best I've ever had, and they're affordable with local, high quality ingredients. Then there was the atmosphere, when you walk in, you feel the amazing scent of freshly baked goodness. You can even watch as they make your food! I think it's an amazing touch how you can make drawings that get put on the outside of menus (it's a great activity for kids). I've always loved the pizza here -- it's one of the best on the island, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a huge disappointment. If you're a local, please be mindful that you may be treated differently. We were seated at a high-top table, even though we had a child with us. The table was near the bathroom, and the strong smell of bleach made it difficult to breathe. We kindly asked to be moved, and the hostess switched us to a large table. After thanking her, we mentioned that since it was just the three of us, we were happy to move to a smaller open table nearby. At that point, our waiter responded with a snappy attitude, saying, "We gave you the last available table. If you want to move again, you'll need to be put on the waitlist." While we were there, a steady flow of new customers (mostly tourists) came in, and none of them were seated in the area with the strong chemical smell. It was hard not to feel like we were being treated differently. To top it off, our server didn't share the daily specials with us -- something we noticed other servers doing enthusiastically with other tables.
