Short story: I went here to get my long hair cut into a pixie cut. They switched my stylist and the stylist I got was nice and gave me an okay haircut, but it wasn't what I wanted. Customer service also wasn't great and they refused to fix the cut when I called the next day. Long story: When I arrived, I was told the stylist my appointment was with was "way behind" and I could either reschedule for next week (not an option since I'd be out of town) or I could have someone else cut my hair. I offered to come back later that day if that would work, but was firmly told it wasn't an option because they were booked out. I should have just found a different salon at that point, but I was eager to get my hair cut and move on with other things on my to do list. I asked for a pixie cut and provided a reference picture. The stylist originally left about an inch of hair on the back of my neck, so I asked if we could make it a bit shorter. When she asked if she could use clippers, I said "sure," thinking that just the nape of my neck would be buzzed. Nope. The lower half of my head ended up in a long buzz-cut with floppy bits on top of my head that don't blend in that well. I feel like I had a lot of miscommunication with my stylist about what exactly I wanted even though I had a reference picture. My bangs aren't as long or thick as I wanted and the haircut is much more "Ruby Rose" than the floppy/feminine pixie I asked for. I went in with long hair, not a pre-existing short cut to work around, so it should have been possible to get exactly the cut I wanted. I left feeling mostly okay about it after talking more with the stylist and making some changes to how the layers came together, but there's not really much that can be done if the problem is that most of it is too short. I thought maybe I could go home and style the bangs to at least look more feminine, but it was impossible to achieve the look I wanted. Two stars because it isn't a bad cut, but it's definitely not what I wanted. My stylist said to call and let them know if I need the cut tweaked/blended more or help with styling it, so I called back the next day to let them know I'm not happy with the cut and want the layers blended a bit more and some help with the bangs. (I've never had more trouble styling a haircut in my entire life and I've had a LOT of different haircuts.) They told me sorry, but they couldn't get me in until next week. I tried to tell them again that I just needed a bit of time for blending/styling, but they refused because they had too many other appointments. I don't feel like they valued me as a customer at all - first switching me to a different stylist and then refusing to help fix my haircut. I'm never going back here again. I called a different salon (Vintage Salon) and despite also being booked up, they made the time to help me out. I'll take my business there from now on. read more

So since then I've been dying to get in with Janna. so late last night I booked my appt. through their site on yelp. *Super easy* I got to the salon and Janna thought I was Michelle's client (I just went with the flow, so Michelle it was) I was nervous because I haven't seen her work, BUT it my delight Michelle was Awesome!! From shampoo, cut, and blow dry she was great. I think between me and my two daughters we have all found our own stylists. That do great work with our hair. After my appt. Went in to this new salon for a full highlight. I explained to the stylist, Karen, that I wanted highlights all the way through my hair to match the very light natural blonde highlights I already have. To make a long story short, she did not lift my hair to the correct level, rendering it brassy orange. She then toned my hair leaving the orange roots and turning the ends a bit gray. I was upset, but decided to sleep on it and called her the next morning and asked her to correct the problem. She obliged by adding more "highlights" which were also not lifted properly and turned yellow. I have sent emails and a letter (mostly to avoid more awkwardness!) asking that my money be refunded for the color service because I had to go to another salon for color correction. I will end up spending hundreds of $$$ and a few sessions to get my hair back to what it should have been. Meanwhile, I have to stare at the evidence everyday when I look in the mirror regretting having ever walked into the place. To make matters worse, I havent received a response from the salon regarding my request for refund. They are just ignoring me. It's bad enough that she ruined my hair, but to be completely dismissed and ignored only adds insult to injury. No accountability here, beware! UPDATE:. Ms. Polk, you have ignored my emails and letter but now respond to a negative, but truthful review on Yelp. You are also blaming me for what happened to me and have been misinformed by her stylist about the facts. If you had read the letter I took the time to write, you would know this. Furthermore, you were present when the mishap occurred and could have intervened, but chose not to. First, as I explained in my emails and letter, the tip was for the entire service, which included a a haircut, which Karen did a good job on. Again, the complaint was over the color service. And how would you feel after two visits to a salon and the stylist still cannot get it right and you natural haircolor, which should have been the base color for dimensional highlights, is non-existent, would you have confidence in going in three times? I was very upset and a bit distraught. I would be happy to come by and show you the orange that is STILL my base color! I will not continue to argue in public about this. This has all been embarrassing enough for me. Accept the bad review and move on. I am only speaking my truth about my experience. read more

I've been 3 times now, and each time I feel like I'm keeping them open - it could be considered peaceful, I find it "uncomfortable". Despite being virtually deserted each of my visits - the next - yes the very next day - I get text messages to make my next appointment because "our appointments fill up fast"???? I'm usually suspicious of a business that has all 5 star reviews - makes me wonder just who is doing the reviews? Not saying any are fake, I just wonder. Was it a bad haircut? NO it was not. Was it a great haircut? NO it was not. Overall, if I spend this much time and money, I expect better than "meh, I've had better" and want what I ask for - not what she thinks I want. I think I've given them sufficient chances - will I be back? I don't know... On the "up side" - booking an appointment is easy, prices are listed, the location is good, my color is pretty nice... I came in for a cut with Janna. She listened to my wants, needs and current hair routine and gave me a cut with all of those in mind. She also showed me how to style it myself in a way that even I could understand! which I loved because your hair usually never looks as good as it does leaving the salon. I liked what she had done to my hair so much that I scheduled a color for the same day later that afternoon. She fixed the balayage I had done a few months ago- which was turning orange and brassy and gave me exactly what I was hoping for based on photos I dug up from my pinterest. I was looking for a place for my daughter to have a "grown up" experience at a salon. She was moving from long hair to short hair in one cut, and she agreed to take it on if she could have a real hair cut, not a baby haircut. I made the appointment with Trent and went in fully expecting to be very involved in making her experience awesome because she is 8, and it's an adult place. After the first 10 mins I sat back and drank my coffee and watched my daughter glow. Trent did a consult with us on the problems and style expectations (just like you would expect as an adult). He engaged her in conversation and it was an awesome experience for her. I was thrilled with the service and what a kind and professional experience Trent gave to even the youngest patron. She seriously worked miracles on my hair! I hadn't had it properly highlighted since my son was born and it was outgrown and brassy. I scheduled an appointment online for a blow out and arrived 5 mins early. I was greeted by the owner, who was with a client. I mispronounced the name of the person I made an appt with (not the owner) and she proceeded to have a conversation about it with her client. I could hear everything, so I interpreted and apologized. She never acknowledged me. Fast forward 20 mins, still no acknowledgement from the stylist, and the owner had to tell her to tell me she was running late and it would be another 20 mins. I'm now 45 mins in and the only person who keeps talking to me is one of the clients who keeps telling me the resaon the stylist is running late is because her hair is so thick. I get up to leave and the owner says, "oh, would you like to have someone else do your blow out?" Oh yes please, I'd love to stay here and be treated more rudely for longer. Not. I left. The most annoying thing was I had hurt my back was was physically not able to wash and style my hair without being in quite a bit of pain. Terrible customer service and waste of time. read more

I made a spur of the moment appointment and was fortunate to get my haircut by Erin right away. Wow, as soon as I walked into the salon, I was impressed. Erin is a doll, she greeted me immediately with a big smile. I appreciated how she asked questions and talked to me about my hair, my current style and what I was wanting, she was so professional and genuinely interested. She combed through my hair as we talked, getting familiar with my hair. I know from experience how nerve racking it is the first time you go to a new stylist, but I can honestly say I was not nervous at all with Erin, and I actually felt comfortable and confident with her. I love this salon! The stylists are amazing. They're very experienced but also stay up to date on hair trends. They can do everything that a snooty salon can do, but (and to me this is the best part) they're so friendly and UN-pretentious. I used to go to another local salon for my color, overpay, and always feel slightly uncomfortable or out of place because of the atmosphere and attitudes of the staff (and management). Not only that, but at every single appointment I'd have to remind the colorist what we did the time before. (I kept thinking, I guess I'm just easily forgettable...) Anyway, after a hair color disaster about a year ago at that other salon, a friend referred me to Flaunt. I am so grateful. At my first visit, the Flaunt stylist asked me questions to understand exactly what I wanted. She immediately recognized where the other salon had gone wrong, recommended the most effective but affordable fix, and then did it fabulously! Now, every time I go back to Flaunt, she remembers me (imagine that!) and knows what we're doing without me having to remind her. It always blows me away. It's like I was so conditioned to bad customer service at the other salon that I'm in awe every time someone at Flaunt calls me by name or offers me a glass of wine or a soda while my color processes. Second time going there. LOVED my experience the first time. The second time not so much. I had an apt for 7:30 with Janna and at the last min I got a call asking to switch it to 7:00 with Erin. I was open to that. I got there and everything started off wrong for me. When I showed my Pinterest pictures of what I wanted, it seemed "wrong" in Erin's eyes. I asked about choppy layers and she replied with "there's no such thing as Choppy layers". So you're telling me that for the past 15 years of my life, everyone else knows what choppy layers is but now they don't exist? I felt dumb. So I tried again explaining what I wanted and she replied "you're not going to like that but okaaaayyyy". Again, I felt dumb. She's the one with the scissors so I said "ok I trust you". Walked out not hating my haircut, she did take her time, but the experience wasn't enjoyable. I'm a mom of 2, who RARELY has time for herself.
