C9. Family Reunion (plus half of my friend's).
    Rebecca B.

I love Guilin noodles! That's the first section of their menu. Get the "family" combo (C9) to try all the meats. It's a sampler platter for an individual. The second section of their menu, losifen noodles, is snail broth noodles, apparently very popular in China now (alternative spelling is luo si fen). I'm intrigued enough I may return to try that. Is it counter service or half service? We came when there were only two other tables and the gentleman staffing the restaurant came and took our order at the table, but we got up to get hot sauces, pickles and a water pitcher. Other reviews say it's counter service. Perhaps it depends on how busy they are. Prepare to get some things yourself.

Legit Chinese noodle soups. The noodle soups have a favorful broth (similar to a hotpot broth) with a variety of content choices. The portions are large and are served piping hot. You have to make sure everyone is into the noodle soup because there's not alot of other dishes except the Japanese katsu curry rice for some reason. The soup is very filling and we all had left overs. The popcorn chicken was a tasty appetizer. Two people could probably share an appetizer and one soup. There is a condiment bar for extra spices and pickled addins. The interior is casual and modern. Fair amount of seating with tables for casual family dining.

Discovered this place when I had a sudden craving for noodles. Interior is clean and simple. Not a big restaurant but there are sufficient seatings for big and small groups. I had the family reunion dish which was akin to a tasting sample of their five signature dry mix noodles. The clear broth served with the noodles was slightly bland. The meat given in all five bowls were two pieces each, and the noodles were just a small palm size in each bowl. It was a great portion for those who would like to try a variety of their noodles but didn't have the stomach to eat five big bowls. The sauces weren't too salty but they did taste almost the same in all bowls. The meats weren't seasoned by the way. Roasted peanuts and short pickled long beans were in each bowl too. I received great service today. The lady at the counter had a big smile all the time.

First time I heard of iEATS Rice Noodle was after the departure of Friend's Kitchen early this year. Looking closely, the logo is a rice bowl above the "i", not a heart. So cute. Adding honey bears to the branding is even cuter. Honey bears with iEATS logo are throughout this restaurant. No wonder it attracted so many younger crowds to dine here. I was here right after work hoping to find some light midnight snacks. Rice noodle is definitely better than wheat noodle. Perfect portion size for me. I ordered pick 2 from the signature dish menu because I wanted to try different proteins. The price was reasonable. Taste was delightful and hit the right spot. Side of diced daikon was offered from the self-serve stand, along with cilantro and hot oil. This dish was the dry type with a bowl of bone soup. I consumed them separately. It doesn't appear to need to be combined. The noodles were hard to pick up with the chopsticks. The owner explained they used to have metal chopsticks. It was even harder than the current wooden ones. Speaking of utensils, the entire dinnerware like bowls, plates, cups and spoon are uniformed in gold colored aluminum. The tables on the left side are divided by picket fences. The center tables seem to fit larger crowds. Overall, iEATS Rice Noodle is an ideal place for family dining and a spot for light midnight snacks. I would return for the soupy noodles next week.

If you're lucky, maybe you can taste their delicious Chinese style kimchi , along with their preserved egg tofu, chilled spinach salad, and crispy fried peanuts. For the entrees, I am particularly fond of their succulent lamb chops, their delectable garlic-infused beef, and the tantalizing catfish tofu, among a plethora of other delightful offerings. Although I do not partake in the staple food, it appears to be highly acclaimed by numerous patrons.

Went with my husband during their soft opening. Service is good and fast. We got a dry noodle dish (it comes sigh separate bowl of soup that you can pour in if you want) and curry rice with brisket. We loved really liked the curry rice dish while the noodle dish was good/ok (it could have used a bit more flavor I think). Overall a good cheap lunch place to go to.

I am a big fan of Luosifen and i would say it's rare there's a fresh luosifen shop in houston. The dish and broth isn't the most authentic flavor but I find the noodles itself still delicious and fresh. The family reunion platter had a little bit of everything and I enjoyed the different dry noodles in it as well! Service and ambiance - they just opened so it was really nice clean and modern design interior, the staff were fast with their service.

E4. Bone Broth Rice Noodle with Beef Brisket

Came in with the family on Xmas day as we knew most all the restaurants in Chinatown would be open. We decided to try a new restaurant and I'd have to say food is solid here. We had the beef with losifen rice noodle, braised beef signature dry noodle, and the beef brisket with bone broth rice noodle. The brisket was the standout in our dishes and the bowls were all flavorful except the bone broth which was more bland (as expected). They have condiments available that you can add to the bowls to adjust for flavor. Overall good food but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

We ordered the Family Reunion for my 2 kids and they loved the varieties of flavors. There were little bits of pickled vegetables sprinkled in the noodle bowls, providing delicious contrasting textures. We got the Losifen Rice Noodle with Beef bowls and the broth was very flavorful. They give you plenty of noodles and meat too.

iEats in Bellaire Chinatown, is a modern Chinese restaurant that specializes in specifically rice noodles. They offer an authentic Chinese dining experience, with my favorite dish being the "Family Reunion," which lets you sample a variety of their special rice noodles. Very convenient with ample parking and fast, efficient service. It's the perfect spot for a casual lunch with a modern twist on Chinese cuisine.

This is a newer restaurant in the Dun Huang plaza. However, there was a lot to be desired. The dish itself was bland especially the noodles. The meat wasn't hot nor warm for that matter. The noodle ratio was way off. All around not a good dish at all (in my opinion). However, the interior was very neat and nicely put together, which I appreciate. The server was very nice and the service was top notch. She reminded me off my mom and the vibe felt very home-y. All in all, maybe I just got unlucky with my dish and there are other good plates, but I won't be visiting again.

The got nice wall art too, depicting the popular dishes from the north so I had my expectation and hopes up. Service is ordinary, she speaks little English but can get by ordering, we order first at the counter the sit anywhere. Braised egg is 2 for $3.50, salty but expected since it's marinated. Came out steaming hot, and yolk was not overly cooked and dry, not bad. Starting with the Chinese hamburger I felt sad and know not to expect too much from the other dishes we ordered. First the meat look different than what others have posted before, and it was kinda dry and too salty to eat. There was no other spice, only the meat juice flavor. The bun they use was stale to eat. Traditional way of making this should be the flaky oily pancake, or at least make the buns softer to eat. The mutton stew was clear and very heartwarming to drink on a cold day. But the portion is super small for the price. The glass noodles were gone in literally two bites. I had none to share with my boyfriend. This dish come with the burger bun too that you can soak them in the soup so I guess this is the extra carb make up for the less noodles. Oil splash noodle is their specialty? It was good but didn't wowed me. Noodles are chewy and well cooked, came with lots of bean sprouts. The sauce is flavorful and actually not too oily which I enjoyed more. You can add the beef for an extra charge, it's the regular braised beef, was just ok. I find it funny that their all food arts on the wall look nothing like the actual way they serve it.

The mapo tofu is one of the best we've had outside of Bellaire with spicy, savory, numbing, and warmth that you expect from a good mapo tofu. Crispy popcorn chicken is a classic that's spicy, lightly fried, and crisp. It has an authenticity that other places around can't replicate and makes you keep craving more. The portions are also appropriate for their price. Service is incredibly quick, and you can order as you go and receive your dish within 10-15 minutes, regardless of how busy they are. As for the ambiance, it's loud, it's hectic, and it's simple... maybe a stretch, but makes me feel like I'm eating at a mom and pop shop in the heart of China. No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

The restaurant is located inside Jusgo grocery store. The seating is quite limited so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties. And it's pretty mom and pop, so if that's your jam, go for it.
