I'm so sad to have to give a poor review to Flecha. I knew it had mixed reviews but we live close and we gave it a shot. Let me say first that our server was excellent. But, the timing of the food was completely off which seems like a kitchen issue. Also my pasta with chicken was inedible... the chicken tasted like rubber which is a sign of low quality, poorly raised chickens and the pasta was overcooked. My drinks were good though. We came here with reservations and to celebrate our anniversary. The actual place feels like an el torrito or chevys when looking at the menu but it is actually a very nice restaurant inside. He server was great kind and nice. Little pricey for the food because I wouldn't say it's fine dining but it taste more like a chain but with more specialized items. Aguachile is one of my fav dish and this was just ok. Slightly dissatisfied with the heat and the cut of the meal. Our flautas well. I'm not sure what happened. I thought from pics and descriptions you get two. We only got one but oddly it was like twice the size of the pics. Maybe they ran out of smaller tortillas. And the mole was ok. I met a colleague here for lunch and this was nice to experience. I didn't pick the place as Mexican isn't usually on the top of my list because of my dairy issues but since I wasn't the decision maker, I happily joined. The place is very pretty with high ceilings and a nice outdoor space too. My colleague told me this is one of Mark Wahlberg's restaurants and there's one in Vegas and elsewhere. I was a few minutes early and when I arrived at the hostess station, I was immediately offered a complimentary margarita. I found it odd to have this offering during a weekday lunch but said ok to trying it while I waited for my colleague. When he arrived, we were able to be seated immediately and I chose for us to sit outside as it was a gorgeous day. I like that this place has a $20 lunch special which is nice. It comes with a non alcoholic drink like a soda, an entree of your choice, and flan as your dessert. They brought out complimentary chips too and I enjoyed their crema sauce on the side which I think was queso. I didnt have any tummy issues later. I chose the $20 lunch special and had a salmon burrito bowl. They give you a nice piece of salmon and it was very well cooked, still light and just right. It comes on a bed of rice, beans, lettuce, salsa, sour cream. Nothing really exceptional there but the salmon was good. They ran out of flan so offered any other dessert option and I chose the churros. That, in and of itself, was its own dish, they give you 4 churros topped with a good scoop of vanilla ice cream. My friend and I only could eat about a piece each and I took the rest home. Churros were ok but something was missing, which I couldnt pinpoint. Service was very good and pur waitress Riley was on point every step of the way. Overall, a good experience here and I would return. I hear the happy hour specials are good here! TL;DR: A fine dining experience with some of the most underwhelming food imaginable. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and welcomed with complimentary half-flutes of mango margaritas. Service was impeccable, concept on point, and from the moment we stepped onto the grounds, we felt transported from a strip mall into an upscale dining destination. The complimentary chips, salsa, and queso on top of the margs got things off to a strong start. Staff was attentive, pacing was perfect, and plating was modern, polished, and beautiful. Unfortunately, the food is where the restaurant lost me. I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp. The dressing tasted like pure mayo and the shrimp seemed boiled at best. While it was certainly a feast for the eyes, it was remarkably bland. I also sampled the chicken mole enchiladas, which were equally beautiful and equally flavorless. Nothing on any of the dishes provided contrast, texture, or a memorable punch of flavor. Overall, the food quality and flavor profile felt more like something you'd find at a hotel banquet than at a restaurant aiming for a premium dining experience. I went to Flecha last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. My waitress was very attentive and would check if I needed anything periodically. She was also friendly and welcoming. I've been to the Las Vegas location and realized they have a new location in San Diego. This review is for their weekday lunch special which is a prix fixe menu for $20 which includes a nonalcoholic drink, one entree, and a dessert. They still have their regular menu as well during lunch but it's good deal if you're there for lunch Monday-Friday. Otherwise the main menu entrees are mostly $20 and above. They took over Miguel's which was another Mexican restaurant so the decor is very similar but with a more modern touch. The restaurant is fairly large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is free in their large, shared lot. The food was fresh and tasty. I loved the complimentary chips, salsa, and queso dip. Chips were warm and crispy. Our bowls were filling and delicious. The flan dessert was HUGE and a great way to end the meal with the right amount of sweetness. Service was overall good. The hostess at the front was very friendly and welcoming and even offered a complimentary sip of margarita. Flecha is known as "redefined Mexican" which sounds like a fancy term to hike up the prices. Our table got the half rack of ribs, which were fall off the bone if you like that, the 32oz short rib, typically when I think of a short rib dish, I think of something that's braised in red wine... but this is just a regular and tender beef rib, and lastly the ''most popular' entree, the chimichurri steak. Comes with the carne asada, very little chimichurri sauce, served with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and was completely under seasoned. The margaritas were margaritas and nothing that stood out and made me think 'Wow' All desserts were okay as well and the tres leches is massive and will definitely need to be shared. Service was exceptional, our server was Bailey who was attentive, friendly, and great attitude so big shoutout to her. The goat cheese was an unexpected highlight. The pita bread went great with it and they were able to bring extra as well. For entrees we got the Baja fish tacos and carnitas flautas. Both were pretty decent size servings. The fish could've been a bit more crispy and the flautas might've been a tad bit too hard. But both were still tasty and we definitely were stuffed. The side of rice and beans were good as well. We ordered the strawberry glazed butter cake for dessert and also got a complimentary dessert for a birthday. The butter cake was pretty good, not too sweet, even with the strawberry glaze. Our waitress was helpful, attentive and friendly. All our food came out in a timely manner. Wow it was a surprise and it truly was the best drink ever! After that, we were promptly seated thanks to our reservation, at a nice large table, where we were served chips, salsa, and queso dip. The salsa was fresh tasting and not too hot, and the queso dip was creamy, delicious, and addicting! It was the perfect pair before the entree. Our server, Shane, was very professional and very friendly, describing dishes we had questions about. We ordered, and when our meals arrived, I, along with my family, were really happy with our food. Flecha has such a lovely ambiance! Located in 4S Ranch, which is specifically in the North County Inland area. I had known Flecha was owned by Mark Wahlberg and just wanted to dine at his restaurant to give it a try. Apparently, it was previously Miguel's Cocina. Flecha is known for "Mexican Redefined" cuisine. I was charmed by the beautiful outdoor patio seating, which was well-lit with plenty of string lights and offered plenty of seating. Our young server was very attentive to our dinner needs, especially when we requested a new batch of chips since they were a tad salty. Even with the new batch, the chips were still salty, but I couldn't resist stopping eating their red salsa. The only complaint regarding the server's service is that he should've gone over some of their alcoholic drinks just in case we were going to order alcohol. For appetizers, I shared the Pork Belly Flautas which turned out to be a surprisingly generous portio. I was really impressed by how hearty it was! For my main entrée, I ordered the Lobster Fajitas. The Pork Belly Flautas were irresistibly tasty and very moist, which made them not taste like they were deep-fried. As I was eating the Pork Belly Flautas, the mixture of the red onions with the peppers made all the flavors come together beautifully. For my main entrée, I ordered the lobster fajitas. I'd never had lobster in fajitas before, but they were impeccable and made a filling dish. I only wished there was a bit more lobster meat in them. Overall, I would return to Flecha in the future. I had such a great experience at Flecha Cantina. I love that they take reservations, and their happy hour runs from 3-7 PM, which is honestly rare these days and such a win. Upon entry, they welcomed our party with a complimentary grapefruit margarita served in a champagne flute. Love a free drink, though it was a bit too sweet for my taste. This a new restaurant in the location and it felt modern, very open space concept. We started with the crispy calamari and pork belly flauta. The calamari pieces were huge, probably the thickest I've ever had and absolutely delicious. The pork belly flauta was long, great for sharing among our party of four, and had a nice kick of spice. The fajita for two is such a good deal. You get so much food with the refried beans being the highlight for us. I do wish it came with a bit more guacamole and pico de gallo. For dessert, we ordered the tres leches, which is massive. Unfortunately, it wasn't my favorite. It's more dense than the traditional soaked layers I'm used to. We checked out Flecha in 4S Ranch (the newer Mexican spot that took over the old Miguel's location), and overall it was a good experience with a couple of clear standouts--and a couple of misses. Right when we walked in, they handed us a complimentary flute of what tasted like a grapefruit margarita (or something close). Really nice touch and a great way to kick things off. Service was also a highlight. Trevor, our server, was excellent--super attentive, friendly, and patient. Since the restaurant is still fairly new, we had a handful of questions, and he answered everything to the best of his knowledge and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. We started with chips + red salsa + queso dip. The chips were good, but a bit more oily than I remember from Miguel's. The salsa was solid. The queso was good too, though if I'm being picky, I think Miguel's queso had a slight edge flavor-wise. For the entrée I ordered the beer-battered fish tacos, and these were the star of the night. The fish was generous, crispy, and flavorful--definitely the kind of tacos that feels worth ordering again. The rice and beans on the side were fine, but pretty standard/ordinary. With the prices here, I was hoping for something a little more memorable on the sides. Dessert was the fried ice cream, and this was the biggest disappointment. The "fried" part didn't really feel fried--it seemed more like the ice cream was wrapped in something like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Some bites were crunchy, but a lot of it was soggy, and there was just too much of that coating, so the texture was inconsistent. The ice cream itself was great, no issues there, just the execution of the "fried" portion. One thing to know: prices run high. There are plenty of entrees in the $40-$70 range. I haven't tried those pricier items yet, so I can't fully judge value across the menu, but it does make me a little cautious. That said, the fish tacos were excellent. As for the space: it's familiar if you went to Miguel's, but they've freshened it up with some modern touches. The venue is still relaxing and fairly spaced out, and we had no complaints about the overall vibe. Bottom line: I'd come back for the fish tacos, some new items also, and the great service, but I'd probably skip the fried ice cream next time. Then someone stopped by the table about 10 seconds after the food had been served asking "how's the food" before realizing we hadn't started and left - never to return. We went to the bar to get a shot of tequila and the bartender told us he didn't know anything about the tequilas and to look at the shelf and pick one. I asked if the other bartender or anyone else could help us pick a tequila and he shrugged. Once we were seated, the waiter was very friendly but brought the bill before we were finished and then left a pile of dishes while others finished their drinks and food. With this being a new restaurant I'm hoping the staff and kitchen will improve. If this were my restaurant I'd fire the bartenders. We expected more especially for the price. read more

I had a blessing of an hour off of work because our department got an hour off on Friday last, which I missed because I left work early that day. Thank God my work lead allowed me to take it another day, so I let my life pahtner know about it and we planned to check out Mark Wahlberg's new restaurant Flecha Cantina during their Happy Hour. I enjoyed my first visit at Flecha, most of the Happy Hour offerings were quality and tasty, our service was decent, and even though Marky Mark was part of the Funky Bunch, his restaurant had a cool vibe and wasn't funky at all. Flecha is located in 4S Ranch specifically within the 4S Commons Town Center outdoor shopping center. Flecha is in the same spot where Miguel's Mexican restaurant used to be. The restaurant is across from Karl Strauss, World Market, and Ulta. It's a short jaunt to Ralph's, Wendy's, and CVS. There is plenty of parking in front of Flecha and throughout this large shopping center. Once you enter through its doors, you can tell it's a new restaurant because it's clean. Flecha is a Mexican restaurant, but the decor is modern and I didn't see any accoutrements that reflected Mexican culture, which I don't consider a negative. I liked that there were several palm trees in the middle of the restaurant, abundant usage of foliage around the restaurant, classy light fixtures, and lots of natural light through the many open windows. Mark Wahlberg's mug was displayed in the Happy Hour seating area. Flecha is spacious with table/chair seating, booth seating, lounge chair seats, bar seating, and a large outdoor seating area with fire pits. It's got a cool vibe with dance moving music and the bar has plenty of tvs to watch sports. Our server Reagan was friendly, checked on us, and the hostess and other staff we interacted with were courteous. The hostess offering us welcome margaritas before we got seated was a nice touch. My wifey and I were dining at Flecha specifically for its Happy Hour, so my review is based on that menu. Their Happy Hour runs from 3-7pm. After we ordered our food, Reagan brought out warm, crunchy tortilla chips accompanied by salsa and cheese sauce. The complimentary chips were plentiful, addicting, and when dipped in the salsa and cheese sauce, I could have just eaten that and would have been satisfied. Flecha's cheese sauce is a yummy dipping vessel for the chips and the fries we ordered. I thought the Happy Hour menu had diverse choices and what we ordered were solid, quality, and tasty. For our adult beverages, both the missus and I ordered their Spicy Strawberry Citrus Margarita. Make sure to ask for the Tajin seasoning around the rim of the glass and you'll enjoy how delicious and refreshing that drink is. You'll experience the spicy after taste, but it's enjoyable spicy. For our grub, we ordered the Truffle Guajillo Fries, the Guacamole Simple, the Taquitos De Pollo, and the Two for $8 Street Tacos with Achiote Tequila Chicken and Pork Belly as our choices. The stars for me were the guac, the taquitos, and my pork belly taco. I applaud the chefs for the quality tasting food and am looking forward to trying their regular menu. The guac complemented the chips and combined with the cheese sauce, the trio was a winning combo. The taquitos were cooked perfectly and were hearty. The pork belly taco was satisfying, but small and oily. The fries needed to be crunchier. For me, I don't think you're given enough food for the price, but maybe that's because I'm spoiled by the larger portions from my fave Happy Hour restaurant Yard House. Recommendation for management would be for them to have value for your money when it comes to their Happy Hour fare. If you're familiar with the predecessor to Flecha, Miguel's was cursed by an E. Coli breakout. Miguel's was known for their cheese sauce and I thought Flecha's cheese sauce was as stellar as its predecessor. Flecha is a welcomed addition to 4S Ranch and the Rancho Bernardo area. Based on my first time visit, I'm hoping Mark Wahlberg's Flecha remains in our area for a long time. read more

Sunday brunch at Flecha Overall the food was great and there was plenty of it for an all-you-can-eat brunch. The made-to-order omelets were especially good, fresh and cooked just right. And the unlimited mimosas included! Drink up friends becuase this will not last forever! My local friends would probably come for that alone. Most places charge around $20 just for bottomless drinks, so it's definitely a nice bonus here. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow and could use some improvement. That said, the quality of the food makes up for it. I've seen places that are fully booked with worse food and much higher prices. If you're looking for a relaxed brunch with good food and mimosas included, this spot is worth checking out. read more
