    Pork Belly Flautas(one)
    Benjamin B.

We came here with reservations and to celebrate our anniversary. The actual place feels like an el torrito or chevys when looking at the menu but it is actually a very nice restaurant inside. He server was great kind and nice. Little pricey for the food because I wouldn't say it's fine dining but it taste more like a chain but with more specialized items. Aguachile is one of my fav dish and this was just ok. Slightly dissatisfied with the heat and the cut of the meal. Our flautas well. I'm not sure what happened. I thought from pics and descriptions you get two. We only got one but oddly it was like twice the size of the pics. Maybe they ran out of smaller tortillas. And the mole was ok. Fresh but blandness about it. Maybe an off day but I would say again service was good. Nice people. But food could be better.

Weekday lunch complimentary margarita? - It was too sweet for me and I wasn't trying to get lit at 12pm haha

I met a colleague here for lunch and this was nice to experience. I didn't pick the place as Mexican isn't usually on the top of my list because of my dairy issues but since I wasn't the decision maker, I happily joined. The place is very pretty with high ceilings and a nice outdoor space too. My colleague told me this is one of Mark Wahlberg's restaurants and there's one in Vegas and elsewhere. I was a few minutes early and when I arrived at the hostess station, I was immediately offered a complimentary margarita. I found it odd to have this offering during a weekday lunch but said ok to trying it while I waited for my colleague. When he arrived, we were able to be seated immediately and I chose for us to sit outside as it was a gorgeous day. I like that this place has a $20 lunch special which is nice. It comes with a non alcoholic drink like a soda, an entree of your choice, and flan as your dessert. They brought out complimentary chips too and I enjoyed their crema sauce on the side which I think was queso. I didnt have any tummy issues later. I chose the $20 lunch special and had a salmon burrito bowl. They give you a nice piece of salmon and it was very well cooked, still light and just right. It comes on a bed of rice, beans, lettuce, salsa, sour cream. Nothing really exceptional there but the salmon was good. They ran out of flan so offered any other dessert option and I chose the churros. That, in and of itself, was its own dish, they give you 4 churros topped with a good scoop of vanilla ice cream. My friend and I only could eat about a piece each and I took the rest home. Churros were ok but something was missing, which I couldnt pinpoint. Service was very good and pur waitress Riley was on point every step of the way. Overall, a good experience here and I would return. I hear the happy hour specials are good here! I'll be back!

Came in during Fifa and enjoyed a few drinks. Service is excellent and the place is beautiful. The bar has a few TVs perfectly located within eyes length and it doesn't take away from the relaxed ambiance of the restaurant. Service was excellent. Everyone was patient and attentive. I love this place and will be back again and again and again.

Caesar Salad with shrimp, looks amazing, tasteless

TL;DR: A fine dining experience with some of the most underwhelming food imaginable. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and welcomed with complimentary half-flutes of mango margaritas. Service was impeccable, concept on point, and from the moment we stepped onto the grounds, we felt transported from a strip mall into an upscale dining destination. The complimentary chips, salsa, and queso on top of the margs got things off to a strong start. Staff was attentive, pacing was perfect, and plating was modern, polished, and beautiful. Unfortunately, the food is where the restaurant lost me. I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp. The dressing tasted like pure mayo and the shrimp seemed boiled at best. While it was certainly a feast for the eyes, it was remarkably bland. I also sampled the chicken mole enchiladas, which were equally beautiful and equally flavorless. Nothing on any of the dishes provided contrast, texture, or a memorable punch of flavor. Overall, the food quality and flavor profile felt more like something you'd find at a hotel banquet than at a restaurant aiming for a premium dining experience. I wish this restaurant the best (they have a solid business model by all accounts and you can tell the staff really pour their hearts into everything they do) but as a self-proclaimed foodie, I can easily see why this is a favorite restaurant of my in-laws in their 80s...

I went to Flecha last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. My waitress was very attentive and would check if I needed anything periodically. She was also friendly and welcoming. I was served with nachos and sauces on the restaurant. I ordered the salmon as the main dish and really enjoyed it. I loved the ambiance and good choice of music. Overall, I had a very positive experience and service at this restaurant and will gladly return to try other items on the menu. Update: I went to Flecha for the second time and ordered shrimp enchiladas and churro dessert. Both were delicious, and service again was exceptional.

I've been to the Las Vegas location and realized they have a new location in San Diego. This review is for their weekday lunch special which is a prix fixe menu for $20 which includes a nonalcoholic drink, one entree, and a dessert. They still have their regular menu as well during lunch but it's good deal if you're there for lunch Monday-Friday. Otherwise the main menu entrees are mostly $20 and above. They took over Miguel's which was another Mexican restaurant so the decor is very similar but with a more modern touch. The restaurant is fairly large with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is free in their large, shared lot. The food was fresh and tasty. I loved the complimentary chips, salsa, and queso dip. Chips were warm and crispy. Our bowls were filling and delicious. The flan dessert was HUGE and a great way to end the meal with the right amount of sweetness. Service was overall good. The hostess at the front was very friendly and welcoming and even offered a complimentary sip of margarita. Our server was prompt to take our order but we were not offered water until we requested it.

We had a great experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was clean and welcoming. We'll definitely be coming back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

Since Flecha is officially one of the New Kids on the Block in the 4S/RB/Santa Luz scene, we had to see if it would be Hangin' Tough against the competition. Imagine stepping into a high-end Ensenada/Rosarito resto without the soul-crushing TJ lines. We dropped in to cap off the night with cocktails and dessert, and it did not disappoint. It's Mexi-Cali chic at its finest--a glitzy partnership between a premium tequila brand and a Hollywood A-lister that radiates some serious Good Vibrations. The aesthetic is moody and chef-driven, skipping the gaudy decor found in Old Town. Our community needed this fun diversification. The real "shut up and take my money" moment? Watching flaming ice cream and butter cake hit the table while sipping a Manhattan. Between the table-side pyrotechnics and the high-energy atmosphere, it's a total showstopper. Even if you're a bit of a Departed soul looking for a late-night fix, pairing a classic cocktail with a fire-fueled dessert is the ultimate way to level up your night and make you feel like you're part of the Entourage. The hospitality kicks off the second you walk in--because any place that greets you with a margarita has definitely got the Right Stuff. We sampled the peachy mango fruity marg, which was dangerously smooth. Despite the dining room being packed, the staff handled the chaos like absolute legends, ensuring our Boogie Nights didn't turn into a stressful slog. If you're craving a stylish "resort-life" escape, this hippity hop spot is a total home run. Highly recommended for when you want to feel fancy without the drive!

    Happy Hour menu, 4/13/26

Really good happy hour M-F until 7:00! Complementary chips were good. Salsa was even better- garlicky! Queso was good, but lacked the tangy punch of Miguel's, which I believe had jalapeno pickle juice in it. $6 draft beers include a single IPA, Modelo and others. $6 tequila shot is a good deal. Tequila normally starts at $15! $8 Birria Quesadilla was pretty hearty and tasty. The money pitch for couples is one each of the $6 $8 and $10 apps for $20 ($4 off already good happy hour prices!) That's basically dinner for two for $20. Pleasant service from the three bartenders. I'll be back.

Overall very impressed with the food quality, portion size, ambience, and service of our Saturday brunch. The hospitality is immediate. We were warmly greeted with a complimentary glass of margarita which was a great first impression. I ordered the chilaquiles brunch, and I liked the option to get both red and green salsas which provided a great balance. When the plates arrived, my eyes grew from the surprise of the impressive portion sizes. Be prepared as you may be like me and need a togo box! The carne asada was very noteworthy because of its tenderness and flavor.

I really like this place! They have a really good happy hour menu, with great prices. The margaritas are amazing and full of flavor. I always sit at the bar and they offer friendly, attentive service each time. There is plenty of indoor seating and the bathrooms are clean and tidy. I love the carne asada and chicken tacos on Taco Tuesdays. See you soon Flecha!

First time dining here for a friends 51st birthday and I must say, the restaurant is beautifully decorated interior and exterior in the patio area. The complimentary margaritas at entrance were a really nice touch to the restaurant and they were strong, which is a plus. This restaurant is located in the neighborhood of 4S RANCH and is a pretty pricey restaurant, assuming because of the area and celebrity owned. I've tried many celebrity owned restaurants and they have all been MID and underwhelming for the expectation of it being good The food was just okay and I wouldn't come back to dine here again because of the taste and price you pay for it. Flecha is known as "redefined Mexican" which sounds like a fancy term to hike up the prices. Our table got the half rack of ribs, which were fall off the bone if you like that, the 32oz short rib, typically when I think of a short rib dish, I think of something that's braised in red wine... but this is just a regular and tender beef rib, and lastly the ''most popular' entree, the chimichurri steak. Comes with the carne asada, very little chimichurri sauce, served with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and was completely under seasoned. The margaritas were margaritas and nothing that stood out and made me think 'Wow' All desserts were okay as well and the tres leches is massive and will definitely need to be shared. Service was exceptional, our server was Bailey who was attentive, friendly, and great attitude so big shoutout to her. Large spacious restaurant to accommodate big parties with fireplaces and heat lamps scattered throughout the patio. Located in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking! We made reservations on a Saturday night for four just to be safe for 6pm, but it wasn't completely filled when we came. Would I recommend? I wouldn't, but happy yelping!

New hot spot. Ambiance is bright and welcoming. Chips come complementary warm with cheese and salad. Happy hour is busy and bar gets full fast! Taco Tuesday specials all day.

Prior to our outing, I sent my family several recommendations for lunch with two burger joints in Escondido and one restaurant in our neck of the woods. The Shop was the last rec and I knew my brother and SIL would probably pick this spot because it serves cocktails and I was right. We enjoyed the food, my family enjoyed their adult beverages, the ambience was really good, and I thought the customer service had some opportunities. The Shop is located in Rancho Bernardo, specifically on Bernardo Center Drive. The restaurant can be found within the Rancho Bernardo Town Center shopping center amongst a group of eateries. Vons is the anchor store and some of the other tenants are the following: The Kebab Shop, China Fun, San Diego Gymnastics & Parkour, BHC Chicken, SDNY'S, and Casa Lahori. There is plenty of free parking at this shopping center. The Shop has plenty of outdoor umbrella covered seating and a spacious indoor eating area. Inside, there is bartop seating overlooking an assortment of adult beverages, there is a good amount of wooden tables and wooden chairs, and there is a long wooden fixed bench with a white brick wall where you'll lean your back onto as you dine. The Shop has decorative light fixtures, a character and boom box decal on one wall, framed black and white pics on another wall, and there's a television above the bar where we watched World Cup soccer. Our waitress and the staff we interacted with were friendly, but I wished our waitress checked up on us more often. I asked one of the staff, a smaller young lady, for a refill of my Shirley Temple and for a box for our leftovers, but it took awhile for those requests to be taken care of. One of my gym friends asked me whether I had dined at The Shop and after telling him I had not, he recommended this restaurant and mentioned that it served memorable cocktails. My brother and SIL are bourbon aficionados, so I knew they'd select The Shop to eat lunch at after they checked out the Yelp business link I had sent them as one of the three recommendations. I don't indulge in adult beverages, but my family ordered Old Fashioned drinks and they appeared to enjoy their drinks. Prior to grubbing at The Shop, I couldn't tell what type of cuisine it serves, but I now know that they specialize in Italian cuisine. They serve starters, cheese + charcuterie, salads, sandwiches, housemade pastas, signature pizzas, desserts, and sides. We decided to share appetizers, so we ordered two orders of freshly baked garlic rolls and my family ordered the spinach artichoke dip. We got to The Shop around 12:30pm and a few minutes after we ordered our starters, we were told the spinach artichoke dip was sold out. We were bummed that after opening at 11am, they were sold out of that dip. The garlic rolls were made with garlic, herb butter, and parmesan. They were fresh and tasty. Instead of the artichoke dip, my brother ordered the burrata bruschetta. That bruschetta was fresh tasting and yummy. For our entree, the wife and I ordered one of their deep dish pizzas, which is considered one of their specialties. We selected the Old Town, which comes with pepperoni, mushrooms, white onions, green bell peppers, fresh garlic, and black olives. The Shop needs to be visited for its deep dish pizzas. We ordered the 9" small and it was big enough to share. It was cheesy, fresh, had an abundant amount of ingredients, and I thought the crust was delicious. That pizza was appetizing and filling. My family and I had a wonderful date day outing experiencing The Shop for the first time. I definitely want to try out their pastas, sandwiches, and their meat pizza. Hopefully they won't run out of their spinach artichoke dip the next time we visit.

Sometimes the golf ball isn't sensed so make sure you see that it says the ball is sensed on the screen. Otherwise if you hit it, it will not register it. There are different game modes available like driving range, trying to aim into a bucket, or playing an actual game of golf. They also have an instant replay of the hitting area so that you can review your stroke and where you hit the ball. I see the appeal in if you are wanting to try out or work on different areas of golf. Like you can play an entire game without having to be in the hot sun, or see from a top-down view of your club placement when you strike the ball. ---- Food was alright, minus half a star. We ordered the pepperoni pizza ($14) which was steaming hot when it came out and had a crispy bottom. Just a standard pepperoni pizza, nothing amazing. Ambiance wasn't "bar-like" which I liked bc while there was music playing you could still hear your own conversations. Service was great we somehow managed to hit 2 tees on top of the hitting area and they gave us another one each time. Lots of parking bc it shares it with other businesses in the plaza. ---- Overall: whether you are a golf fanatic or just want to try something out, this is a pretty great place to experience. Pricing is basically a dollar a minute you're here, but they have a wide variety of game modes available and the comfort of being indoors.

The rustic outdoor patio features red clay bricks that contrast nicely with the lightly colored stucco walls and earthy greenery. During our visit, we enjoyed live instrumental guitar music on the patio overlooking the beautiful golf course. As night settles in, the fire pit adds a cozy charm to the space. THE FOOD The kitchen focuses on Mediterranean and California-style dishes, utilizing many fresh vegetables from their on-site garden. While the presentation and colors were great, the kitchen did struggle a bit with some of the meat temperatures during our visit. * House-Made Guacamole & Salsa: Fresh and refreshing. * Shrimp Cocktail: Large, plump pieces served ice-cold with cocktail sauce and pickled vegetables. * Yellowfin Tuna Crudo: Very fresh fish served with pickled vegetables, an Asian-style sauce, and crispy plantain chips. * Grilled Ribeye: Served with a beautiful slab of béarnaise butter melting on top. Unfortunately, it was a rather thin cut and arrived closer to medium/medium-well rather than the requested medium-rare. * Grilled Pork Tomahawk Chop: A fairly large portion, but the edges were cooked close to well-done, leaving the meat a bit dry and lacking moisture. * Lamb Lollipops: The standout dish of the night! Cooked to a perfect medium-rare and served with a bright mint chimichurri. Warm, juicy, and flavorful. * Drinks: They offer a great indoor bar with a wide selection of wines and cocktails. I stuck with the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon, which was full-bodied and paired well with the meat dishes. THE SERVICE The servers and bartenders are quite personable, though attentiveness can be a bit sporadic during busy times. A special thanks to our server, Ubaldo, who was juggling quite a few tables but still worked hard to keep our drinks full throughout the evening. The lamb chops were cooked nicely but could have used more seasoning, and the poke tacos were tasty but tiny -- literally about the size of my pinky for each taco. We were disappointed they had sold out of both the Crème Brûlée Bread Pudding and the Budino, which were the desserts we originally wanted to try. Thankfully, the Butter Toffee Cake completely saved dessert for us -- absolutely delicious and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, a cute spot with good vibes for a girls night, but the food itself didn't quite live up to the hype for us.

I really wanted to give this place five stars for the food alone, but unfortunately the service…read moreheld me back. The sushi was genuinely delicious. Our server recommended a special habanero roll, and my friend ordered the Hawaii rolls--both were excellent. Another friend ordered a burger and really enjoyed it as well, so the kitchen is definitely doing something right. Where things fell short was the service. Our server started off great--friendly and with a good vibe--but as the evening went on, things slowed down noticeably. The host was not very attentive; we had to ask multiple times for items, and drinks were delayed until our server eventually followed up. It felt like no one else was stepping in to help. There were also a few mix-ups. We ordered crème brûlée and cheesecake, but were mistakenly given bread pudding that belonged to another table. It took about 20 minutes for the server to return and let us know about the error. While it wasn't added to our bill, there wasn't much effort made to make up for the inconvenience. I also ordered another glass of wine that never arrived--though, to be fair, I wasn't charged for it. Toward the end of the night, service became even more inconsistent. We were ready to pay, but the server disappeared for a while, and when he finally took our card, he seemed distracted and took extra time chatting with another table. Overall, it's a nice spot--especially for a summer dinner--and the food is definitely worth trying. However, the service needs improvement before I'd consider coming back.

Food still came out in a timely manner and these young ladies were rushing back and forth getting folks seated, taking orders, serving, and getting payments processed...all with smiles on their faces. In talking with our server, she was unaware that many people had a 3 day weekend and thought iit would just be a casual day. It sounds like management dropped the ball on that and did not schedule accordingly. Kudos to the staff on today for still handling it with class. It's always a great visit to Hoorah!

This deal is almost a steal. I had the scallops and pork belly duo and my sister had the fish, both were perfectly cooked! The dessert was the perfect finish. Our first visit in January we ordered the Lamb Chops which were amazing and cooked medium rare as is proper for Lamb Chops. The Salmon was cooked perfectly. Not over cooked. Skin was crispy. I cannot express the flavor in words. The second time we ordered the special 3-course prix fixe. For appetizers, the lobster bisque was sultry and the grilled shrimp prawns can with two huge prawns with roasted vegetables. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and not dry at all. It is easy for restaurants to make thick cut pork chop dry. Not at Avant! We also ordered the Beef Wellington (a special that was not on the menu). We didn't realize the Beef Wellington was sized for two people, hence the huge up charge. Beef Wellington was cooked medium rare which how its supposed to be prepared! The crust was more like a pipe crust than puff pastry. The pate is mushroom with swiss chard. I need to address another Yelp User's review of this restaurant complaining about the Beef Wellington: 1) If you dont like your beef medium rare, DO NOT order the Beef Wellington. Ask Chef Gordon Ramsey! Medium is considered over cooked in a Beef Wellington. The meat gets dry and tough. 2) The Beef Wellington is a special (typically on the weekend) with limited quantities and is not on the menu all the time. I heard the restaurant manager let other tables know the limited quantities and he needed to know ASAP if a diner was considering the Beef Wellington. 3) Please also note that Beef Wellington takes to 30 to 40 minutes because there is a 15 to 20 minute rest time. So be sure to order appetizers also to tie you over! The service here is fantastic! Blaine was great! The atmosphere is nice in dark woods. Just the right lighting. We are so glad to find Avant for our special occasions.
