I will say I am not a huge fan of diners but I really like Fleetwood diner. It is located in the Lansing area. Great service and good food. I really like how it is open 24 hours. In addition I also really like their large menu selection. My favorite dish was the turkey dressing dinner. You get a giant plate if turkey breast and stuffing. Then you get a choice of two sides. I chose the soup of the day tomato Florentine and the mashed potatoes. I did also try the apple pie with ice cream for dessert but it tasted like it was store bought. My advice stick with the actual breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. read more

Hot water heater is causing a carbon monoxide leak in the building. All of the employees/customers have been exposed and threatened by this hazard and continue to work during the leak. The restaurant was shut down by fire marshals 5 months ago due to the same leak. Although they have reopened, the leak is back. The owners have ignored complaints from employees of the smell and physical ailments they are experiencing from the leak. read more

Great late night spot and my favorite breakfast place. They're Hippie Hash is my favorite item on the menu. Their omelets are really good too! I will admit that it doesn't look like the cleanest place inside but I have been there enough times to know that the food and service is way better than the place looks. Hippie hash is for late nights, whether spent awake studying or drinking, though hopefully there's a dd because this place isn't near anything. I love the hippie hash with gyro meat, scrambled eggs mixed in and doused in hot sauce. So surprised to go to Fleetwood at 4 am and find it closed. No sign on the door, no hours posted. The service and food provided by the graveyard shift has always been excellent. Much better and more consistent than you get during the day...especially the home fries. Tara is one of the best waitresses in Lansing. I heard that Theio's shut down their night shift. I can understand paring back to cut costs, but it would be nice if these places let their loyal customers know, at the very least, their operating hours. read more

OMG What Happened?! Fleetwood used to be THE place to go for unique food and quaint atmosphere. Hadn't been there for 3 years, so today for lunch I ordered grilled ham and cheese, fries, coleslaw and a diet drink. The service was VERY GOOD and the kitchen was FAST. This place is definitely a typical diner and has the usual design you would expect, but I was not Wow'd by this place. Decided to order the greek salad with chicken, a side of fries, and a vanilla milkshake. The milkshake I would have to say was the best part of the meal sadly. I received burnt fries and when my cousin and I both asked for mayonnaise the waitress brought back a small portion for the 2 of us to share... was excited that I got a ton of chicken on my salad but the chicken was not well butchered so I had chewy pieces while eating. Expecting Cucumbers on my salad the waitress told us after receiving our food that they don't have Cucumbers anymore. Who doesn't have Cucumbers for greek salad that's menu says it contains cucumbers? The dressing was not the amazing greek salad you find at a coney island. Everything just seemed to be cheap here and made with no effort. At least I got a large amount of milkshake to have. Minus the fact that it was not a nice thick milkshake.... rather soupy I must say. HIPPIE HASH IS WHERE ITS AT. Where else can you go that is a little scummy on the inside, which adds to the character of course, and get broccoli and feta and tomatoes all other sorts of yumminess. Priced well for how much food you get, too, and even though it was pretty busy there on a Sunday morning service was still fairly prompt and we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. Friendly service every time. I would recommend breakfasts there, however the lunch wasn't to our liking. I had the greasiest spinach pie in the world (soggy too), soggy fries and my husbands bread on his sandwich was soggy. Ample breakfast. Almost everyone did Hippie Hash and since it is made fresh, people asked for it without something they disliked like onions or peppers. I enjoyed mine with everything in it. It was delicious. There was still enough to take home. It comes with one or two eggs and toast. Five of us were pretty crowded into our booth. The restaurant was full by 9:30 am on Sunday. We swatted flies during our meal and that was why I could not give it more stars. They need to shut down the restaurant and clear these out. Waiter pleasant and attentive. PS. Only weeks after my review, the diner did close down for a week and a current visit showed flies were gone. Food was great! read more

I haven't been to the fleet wood diner in years but the last time I was there I got an order of fries to go and they were still hot when I got home! I think the fries there are 5 star. If you have never been to a '50's style diner, this is definitely a good place to start. read more

I am not sure why so many people in Lansing love this place. The food is nice, but it's not worth the love I've heard from some. There are flies, even in the winter, tonight there was a fly in my salad! Which they then attempted to charge me for, because the Point of Sale system wasn't able to remove it from my bill. Crappy customer service right there, although my waitress did handle it for me. It's dirty and needs a big scrub down. Wait staff is largely inattentive, and half the time you wait forever for refill or a bill. read more

This is a 24 hour type diner. You go there to fill your belly, not for the atmosphere etc. Its generally clean and you get a reasonable value for your dollar. The quality of service is dependant upon how busy they are. Some of the menu items are just ok, and others are very good. I highly recomend the Euro Burger, or, any burgers for that matter. The greek stuff is good. The fries are not so great, but they make up for lack of quality with a good quantity.They like to use bacon on lots of stuff, so thats a big plus. The crowd ranges from students studying, to young families, as well as old folks. Its hard not to fit in. The staff gets to know you when your reasonably regular, Remembering what your usual drink choices are. Its the place I go, when I just want to eat and dont feel like cooking. I gave 3 stars = ok.
