I spoke to several moving companies before choosing Flexdolly. One of my friends is a real estate broker and received a promotional email from them and suggested I try them out because her company was considering adding them to their elite referral list. Big mistake. I was initially going to use their packing service as recommended by the sales rep whom came to my house to determine the number of movers needed and truck size. I was almost 1/2 packed at that point and told him I was going to continue packing, with moving day still a few weeks away. My move was ultimately delayed by a week so I had a bit longer to pack myself so canceled the packers. This caused a glitch in their promotion, offering $10k in damages. They did not clarify this at our meeting as I was already half way packed, that if I packed myself, the offer would be invalid. I got a call from the operations guy and he let me know they would still honor the promotion, since there was nothing in writing that stated this. So we moved forward with the move. Moving day started off a little frustrating because I asked to start at 9am because I had to take my dog to my daughter's house and I wouldn't be back until then. 9am was confirmed but the guys showed up about 8:15 and called me wondering where I was. I didn't expect them to add that time onto the move but they did. The guys were super nice, led by Louis. They worked very hard and so I bought them all lunch, burritos of their choice to show how appreciative I was. I had to leave with a piano mover to go to the other house while they were still eating lunch. They were about 90 minutes behind me. They told me about the items that they had left behind, that I had specifically asked them not to bring- cleaning supplies, a vacuum, things I needed to get the place ready for the new owners. Louis and the guys did a nice job unloading and when they finished, Louis asked to settle the bill. He showed me a printout of the invoice and I paid it. Then about 15 minutes later, he said he'd given me the wrong invoice and that they needed to collect another $1500! At this point, the move was costing me $3600 and they not only charged me for the 45 minutes they arrived early but for the hour the guys had their lunch. But this isn't the worst part. I'm a little OCD and can't stand living in chaos, so I was completely unpacked of all my boxes within the first week. Immediately I noticed one of my boxes containing an instant pot (which I use all the time) and a new waterproof Bluetooth speaker that I had just purchased at Costco were missing. I had some kitchen utensils missing as well. I reported it right away and for a few days hot crickets. Finally they responded and said that when I was completely unpacked to come back and let them know it the items were still not accounted for and wanted to assure me that they hire only honest and trustworthy people and none of them would have taken anything. My response was that I had told them I was completely unpacked already and that I wasn't accusing any one of anything but that I wanted to be compensated for my missing items. I don't know what happened but I should have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars replacing items after a move. They are still giving me the runaround, asking me to let them know when I'm fully unpacked. Very frustrating. I did report 3 blankets missing as well but the next day told them I'd found 2!of them in a plastic bag in my yarn/blanket closet. One is still missing, probably the one I packed with the pressure cooker and speaker. Since, I've noticed some of my non-stick cookware pots are missing (large soup pot and 2.smaller pots). What the heck! Again, I don't know what happened but these things are gone. And the company is acting like I've simply misplaced the items. Not very empathetic nor proactive. I don't know how long I'm going to have to wait for my claim to be resolved but this company clearly doesn't know what they're doing and they are not interested in protecting their customers and following through when something unfortunate like this happens. I simply want them to do the right thing and replace what was lost, and not have to wait who knows how long to make it happen. Movers were nice guys, but company deserves 1 star Timeline: Arrived 2 hours late (due to a prior move), took 2 guys 9 hours to move a 970 sq ft condo - took over twice the expected time. The foreman spent most of the time on his phone complaining instead of working with his partner. I was charged 18 man hours for about 9 man hours of actual work performed. Work quality: Movers rarely worked together, moved extremely slowly (lack of training? Overworked?), and caused damages--scratches, scrapes, and broken baseboard pieces they tried to hide. Zero accountability: When I reported damage, the owner, Nas, immediately deflected to his co-owner (who had already deflected it to Nas) and I didn't hear from Nas again. After weeks of runaround (I had to constantly reach out), a mover finally attempted repairs--took 4+ hours over two visits for what should've been a 10-minute fix (I know because I've done the same repair myself on a different area of baseboards), and it still didn't look undamaged. Overcharging: Nas claimed I should've hired 3 movers (he was the one who decided on 2, saying my condo was small and only needed 2 guys), then falsely accused me of having a spiral staircase to justify the costs. Just to be clear, I was extremely transparent at booking, listing anything that was heavy, explaining that my stairway was straight with one 90 degree bend, that I had 2 mattresses on a loft, but he said I didn't have a cold plunge or a sauna so 2 guys were sufficient. He refused further communication after learning I was dissatisfied with being overcharged for the work done. The only time he spoke to me was when trying to book an appointment with me. Two borrowed tools went missing until I repeatedly asked for them back. Owners completely ignored me on this. I had to ask the mover myself, several times. Bottom line: Owners deflect responsibilities and overcharge for actual work performed. Their 5-star reviews don't reflect my experience with them so please be careful when choosing your movers and read being the 5 star reviews. This was the worst moving experience out of the four companies that I've hired so far.​​​​​​​ I've hired other companies with guys who worked seamlessly together for an efficient move, were rarely slacking off, if at all, and didn't take things from me. The company owners do not hold themselves accountable, blame the customers and deflect responsibilities to their employees. Excellent customer service. We used Flexdolly San Diego for our 2 bedroom house. Junior, Younes and the other movers whose name I unfortunately didn't get were all amazing to us. They wrapped everything that needed wrapping with their moving pad and shrink wrap, disassembled and reassembled furniture and put it exactly where it was supposed to be, and they were just incredibly polite, kind, communicative, and respectful individuals. Nas, the owner, responded to my pricing query extremely quickly and was very personable and helpful in quickly answering all of my questions. It was easy to set up a date and time for the move, even though it was super last minute (only a few days in advance). On our move date, the movers arrived right on time and managed to quickly find a place to park in an extremely busy and parking-limited downtown area. They were friendly, hard-working, and took great care when packing and transporting all of our items. Packing up was a tough and lengthy process because items needed to go downstairs in a small elevator, through a garage door, and around the building to the truck; I appreciated the quality and speed with which the pack-up occurred despite these challenges. When we arrived at our destination, unpacking was remarkably quick, as it was a much more typical ground level move-in location with easy out-front parking. The majority of our items have now been unpacked and they did not suffer any damage during the move, primarily due to our movers' attention to detail. I also enjoyed chatting with our movers and felt very comfortable with them handling expensive items and would not have hesitated to leave them working alone if I had needed to step out. I appreciated that I didn't need to hover and oversee the entire process, as it reduced some of of the moving day stress. Moving is always expensive, but I felt the pricing was reasonable for the quality of the work done and the amount of time it took. After referring a family member and having them use their services for a second time, it seemed that their quality of service has declined. The two people that showed up to help were very kind but it seemed as if they were recently brought on to the team and didn't have any experience. Not only were they over an hour late, but they took an absurd amount of time bringing things out and putting them onto the truck. I have personally used this service more than one time prior to this and never had any problems moving a one bedroom apartment for a very reasonable price to and from a storage unit then to a new apartment. This family member was also moving a one bedroom apartment but with way less furniture and boxes. Once it was all loaded up they headed to the final destination. Where they took a detour and got lunch without any communication of doing so. This whole move took over 4 hours not including the time we had to wait because they were late. Upon arrival to the property, there was no rhyme or rhythm as to how they were unloading which resulted in an even longer process and almost no utilization of the dolly they brought. Once all was done we got a price that was almost double than I have ever spent in all my 3 or 4 times I've used this service. For an experience that lacked in quality and professionalism. We got in contact with one of the owners of the company that I have met and had been present for every experience I have had while moving with them and they were not understanding. For the first time since using their services my family member wasn't even provided a quote, they didn't ask what size apartment/home they would be moving, and they showed up with a trailer not knowing if it would all fit or not. Since we were not expecting such a large amount to be paid we were not prepared and the owners would not work with us. They told us they were going to send one of the guys back to grab a box or two as collateral until we paid in full but we shortly received a phone call from the mover saying he was not comfortable doing that and to just give him an empty box. The reason for the move and the way it all happened was extremely stressful and the only comforting part in planning it all was that we trusted this company from past experiences. I have decided to revisit this original review because I am moving again soon and am disappointed that I will not be able to use their services again. If my sister had a better experience moving in with me last year then I would have definitely trusted them to move us into our new place. I found Nas with Flexdolly through Craigslist this past Sunday. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Nas after meeting him yesterday!!!! He is DEFINITELY a VERY HONEST & RELIABLE mover!!!! I had called around last-week, trying to find someone to help move 1 three-drawer ikea dresser to a friend's place. I also needed help getting rid of a very light full-size memory-foam mattress & 1 end-table...It is VERY DIFFICULT to find ANYONE, (EXCEPT for NAS!!!!) in San Diego (Mission Valley & surrounding areas) to move 1-SINGLE item OR a "smaller" load. Even when I called-around & spoke w/"junk removal" guys, the majority of them ONLY "removed junk", but would NOT move the dresser...I did FINALLY find a guy who would do all 3 of the items for $150.00...but I continued my search in HOPES for a more decent price... When I called the CL ad & spoke with Nas, he was VERY professional & friendly He had a MUCH more positive "vibe" in his voice compared to ALL the others I spoke to. He did tell me when I spoke w/him that he did not remove junk items. He texted a quote of $95.00 which was WONDERFUL!!!!‍ I met him yesterday, 01/12/22 to move the dresser.
