The chicken fried steak with white milk gravy
    Teri G.

Every time we go through, we stop for fabulous "home style delicious meals!" For years, the service is always friendly and attentive. Today "Mindy" served us and we decided that when they make robot servers they need to make the "Mindy" model. Vibrant smile and energy, delighted to serve our family of four, and made us feel fully welcome. As always the food was perfectly divine. The homestyle chicken fried steak is tenderized, battered and fried as good as mine, my boys said, but I think better! Crispy out and tender goods inside. The white milk gravy is homemade from the pan drippings. There's no other way to do it this well! Homemade biscuit with real creamery butter will stick to your ribs and lure you to bliss. Eggs over easy done just right. Hashbrowns crispy, rich coffee, and what seemed like fresh squeezed OJ. Any day is a good day to stop for a great eating experience, but in the first Sundays of the month, the aviation museums are open and free of charge. Might be live bands, raffles, airplane rides and more fun for one and all. Enjoy!

What a cute cafe !!! The food was so fresh and delicious. The staff members were so nice and the weather wasn't the best but we got a booth inside and got to watch the planes. They have good deals for bottomless mimosas. I want to come back when it is sunny !!

LOVED our experience here. Came on Saturday around 11 and it was a 30 min wait. We had a mimosa and coffee while waiting. We ordered the chicken fried steak. It was my first time having it and I thought it was great. It's HUGE. The gravy is phenomenal and the inside of their biscuits and soft and pillowy. Staff is super friendly. Prices were great too. 2 chicken fried steak meals (with eggs, biscuit, and hash browns), coffee, and mimosa for a little over $50. Will definitely return.

Out of all airport cafe's I've been too, none have topped this one in regard to views.. this place is a two hour drive from me and I would absolutely make the drive on a Sunday morning to enjoy a hot cup of coffee on a cloudy, chilly morning...followed with a yummy mimosa the service has been great every single time, I have zero complaints. Absolutely recommend!

The service was amazing and the food was great. View is such a place. I enjoyed the Nutella banana special.

The food was great. The people were great. As you would expect being on an airport it was expensive.

I was looking forward to this experience and it didn't disappoint! But I worried a bit. We arrived at almost 11 and I worried that breakfast would not be available. It was available. Then there was a table with a large group, maybe 15 or so. They ordered at same time as us and I worried that our food would be delayed. We were all served at about the same time. How does the kitchen do that? My blushing bride had a vegetable omelet, hash browns, coffee and a biscuit. I had corned beef hash, eggs over easy, some sort of chunks of breakfast potato, iced tea and a biscuit. Let me start with the biscuit... it was thick, fluffy and yummy. We recently had a bad biscuit experience.... well, not really "bad" but certainly not good. This was a pleasant surprise! The omelette got good comments. My corned beef hash was really, really good. As were the other items. I dwell on the hash because I had an unfortunate childhood experience with hash that scarred me for life. You don't want to know... really, you don't. This is only the second time I've eaten corned beef hash since I was a child. I'd gladly come back for more! Service was kind and efficient. Prices are right.

GETTING HERE: This restaurant is located at the Santa Paula Airport, and I would recommend eating outside if you can, too. It's such a neat experience! Head to 8th Street and cross Harvard Boulevard. At the "T" in the road turn left and you're there. :) REVIEW: Another hidden gem in Santa Paula that is worth the trip, in my opinion. And, it's so great to support a local, small business. Especially during the present times! Also, they close at 2 PM so be sure to keep that in mind. Every visit seems to be better than the last! Great tasting American/brunch food and the service has been outstanding as well. Much appreciated! On our most recent visit we experienced a problem with one of the Breakfast Burritos our party had ordered. Our server Emily was pleasant and receptive when we shared the problem with her. She took the burrito back to the kitchen and brought out another item in its place without giving it a second thought. Great food and great service, combined with great atmosphere. This is a win in my book all the way around. Definitely recommend! PRO TIP: Get the Reuben sandwich too! Enjoy!

This was just from 1 order- chicken fried steak!

Visiting family in SP, I wouldn't have expected to find this cafe at its location. But once you end up in the restaurant, you'd be surprised at how conveniently located it is- right alongside the flight school!! This joint is your typical, American breakfast & brunch spot!! I saw they have lunch choices and serve breakfast ALL day so that is a plus!! Sometimes, I want breakfast for a late lunch or dinner lol! Food: Chicken fried steak- you need space on the table for this combo alone!! I shared with my kids (3 & 6) and still had leftovers. Steak- (not my order) looked delicious and asked for medium rare. It was cooked unevenly but did not get a chance to snap a pic once it was cut. Corned beef hash- (not my order) it was good, not salty at all. Not pictured: French toast (4 pieces)- I liked that it tasted like how my dad makes 'em. Loved the whipped butter too! Bowl of chili and toast- (not my order) but it was enjoyed by my family. Service- quick and prompt; the waitresses made their rounds a few time to make sure our cups & mugs were never empty. Seating- we choose to be out in the back as the kids wanted to enjoy the airplanes. We got to watch several take off and flying nearby. This was a new experience for us as a family and definitely the highlight of our visit. The mountain backdrop and clear skies made it work out in our favor after the quick rain that morning. Parking- plenty of parking! Tip- we arrived about 10am on a Sunday. It was about a 20 min wait. Not sure if you can call ahead to reserve but it doesn't hurt to try. Overall, it was a nice experience with family. This place looks perfect to catch up with friends and family, enjoy some good food, and have a good time!

We got to show our cars with the museum.

How does this restaurant compare to Waypoint in Camarillo?

The food is MUCH better at Camarillo, but the Santa Paula cafe is much closer to airport operations. Camarillo often has a wait (duh) and their "throwback to lockdowns" 'order first' system leads to poor table service IMO.

It's become my go-to spot to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with great friends. One of the things that keeps my wife and me coming back is the outstanding hospitality. The entire staff, including owner Greg, always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. They're friendly, respectful, attentive, and genuinely make you feel like part of the family. In all the years we've been coming here, we've never had a bad experience. This past Saturday, my wife and I stopped in for lunch because we were craving something different. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich "wet," covered in their homemade buffalo sauce with bacon and lettuce. You can customize it with cheese, tomato, or any toppings you like. It came with a generous serving of perfectly crispy fries that paired perfectly with the sandwich. My wife ordered the wings and chose half traditional buffalo and half garlic lemon pepper. They were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Her meal came with celery, carrots, ranch, extra buffalo sauce, ketchup, and she couldn't resist adding an order of their delicious fries as well. The food arrived quickly, was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and, as always, we had an amazing time. Whether you're looking to grab an ice-cold beer, catch the big game, enjoy a great meal, or simply relax in a welcoming sports bar atmosphere, I highly recommend The Draft. Located on the first floor of the Inn, you can't miss the entrance once it's dinner time. We went in with no expectations, but were completely blown away with everything Enzo's had to offer! Perfect for a nice dinner date night, I especially liked our booth seat had full wall separation between us and other tables that it didn't feel crowded despite the restaurant actually being relatively packed. Per our waiter's rec (I wish we got his name), we ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and substituted the spaghetti for their Fettuccine Alfredo & the Lemon Broccolini appetizer. They also give complementary warm focaccia bread with oil & balsamic. 11/10. That broccolini had the perfect airy crunch with just the right amount of lemon. For the Alfredo, you just have to try it. the portions are generous, we walked out with leftovers of both still and we shared both plates. Asked for redo, but they had run out of pesto sauce. It took almost 10 minutes to learn that they couldn't redo the dish because no pesto. Lasagna: top was burnt. Server could see it, but delivered anyway. Ordered an espresso martini. 5 mins later, server came back to say they didn't have espresso. Asked if the could make a chocolate martini: they said yes. Poured vodka, heavy cream, chocolate syrup into a martini glass. It was alcohol but not a chocotini. Do NOT recommend. $350 dinner. They comped dessert (that was nice) but overall, no confidence.

The…read morephone reservation was especially pleasant--friendly, courteous, and the owner/manager answered my questions directly (a hospitality level I haven't experienced in years). Arrival was smooth. The half-circle drive off Mill Street is easy to enter and was open when we arrived. The only tip I'd add is once you get past the front area, head toward the rear parking lot for the best flow. Walking up to the front door is charming--Swiss/German country cottage style with historic character, dark wood tones, and shingle siding (with white end units). The lobby setup is warm and inviting, with great lighting and multiple seating areas where you can relax or have a conversation. Check-in was quick and friendly. The staff explained the room ventilation controls and the split cooling system (new technology). The room stayed very quiet and comfortable--our third-floor room cooled to about 65°F each night. The stairs to the third floor were exactly as expected--no elevator--and they felt well designed with consistent tread depth and height. The hallways also have fun movie posters from the 20-60s, which adds personality. We stayed in Room 301, and it was roomy (about 300 sq ft). The room had a chaise lounge with an ottoman, plus a desk and chair. The bathroom layout is a bit old-school, with the sink just outside the bathroom area inside the bedroom, but it worked fine. There's a small step up (around 1 1/2 inches), and the tub/shower and toilet were comfortable and clean. The shower had plenty of hot water. The bed was a highlight--pillow-top comfort with very soft sheets and comforters. The king pillows were large, soft, and easy to adjust (even though I usually prefer smaller ones, these were great). Overall, the room and property felt quiet. It seemed like most guests were in by around 9:00, and we had a peaceful, restful night's sleep. Also worth noting: there are four EV chargers in the rear parking lot for electric vehicle owners. The restaurant looked amazing and smelled great, though we didn't dine this trip--we're planning to next time we fly into Santa Paula Airport. Finally, Monica, the manager, was wonderful--an absolute pleasure to talk with and genuinely kind. And a special thank-you for the complimentary morning coffee and muffins. Highly recommend for anyone who wants comfort, charm, and quiet peace.

At check-in, we realized our assigned room was near two very barky dogs, and the front desk was kind and accommodating in relocating us to another room. I think it was even a better room. I appreciated their willingness to help. Unfortunately, the room itself felt more worn than charming. The furniture had visible wear and staining, the ceiling showed patched areas and water stains that really needed a fresh coat of paint, and the overall impression was tired rather than historic. A few relatively simple updates would go a long way toward elevating the experience. The bathroom was tight, and it had a small step up that we kept forgetting about, despite the (small) warning sign. The provided toiletries were among the worst I've encountered at a hotel. I had forgotten my own shampoo and soap and planned to use what was provided, but it was SO bad. The tiny disc of soap did not lather. On the positive side, the property felt safe and the room was clean. The lobby had dark wood and a homey feel. But what could have felt like a charming historic inn instead came across as simply old and overdue for some attention. While I appreciated the friendly service, I wouldn't choose to stay here again until I knew they had made some upgrades. From what I hear, this is the nicest place in Santa Paula, so I guess we would stay in nearby Ojai at a similar price point.
