I admit that I was very skeptical about trying the design services at Floor & Decor, but I'm so thrilled that I gave it a shot. After many weeks of lugging home samples from other tile stores that didn't work with our existing flooring, I was completely frustrated and ready to scrap the idea of remodeling our bathroom. Luckily, I rallied for one more attempt. Shortly after meeting Julie Tibbs, I knew I made the right decision. She interviewed me about what we wanted, looked at photos of our existing space, helped me to my car to get my existing flooring sample and then set off with me exploring the store for options. Julie has an incredible eye for color and design. She was quick at getting a feel for my "style" and did an absolutely amazing job of finding lots of options for me to take home. She was extremely patient going from aisle and was able to see things that I never would have thought would work on my own. Her sense of humor made the process fun. Amazingly, my husband and I were able to agree on one of the options and when I came back the next week to finalize everything Julie helped me figure out the best way to layout the tiles with the accent tiles, select a grout color and even took me over to get the right spacers and mortar. She was so meticulous about everything she even helped make sure the two pieces of edge metal matched! Finally, she even called another store to get me the rest of the product I needed. I can't thank Julie enough for the awesome customer service and I can't wait to see our bathroom when it's all done! Who knows, I may just have the confidence to remodel our kitchen next :-). OK so yes they have an extensive selection of tile and whatnot. If you are lucky, what you want will be available. I have been there twice, money in hand to buy tile for my bathroom remodel. The first time, I found a beautiful tile on display but could not find the actual tile to buy. The salesperson said " we don't actually have that" and then just slowly turned around and walked away. It was bizarre and my husband I were perplexed but wrote it off. The second time, we had looked online and found a tile we wanted to buy. We arrived, found the display but no tile on the shelf despite the website stating there were 20+ cases available. A staff member barely stopped to tell us where to find it, directing us to the place we had already been. I explained we had been there and there was none on the shelf. He kept walking. We opted to look for a similar tile, but again needed help to find it as it was nowhere to be seen and they supposedly had 200+ tiles. Stumbled on the same sales guy, who then did take the time to help us, and we found it in a random spot, with less than 100 tiles actually in stock, which was not enough for the job. Went back to asking about the first tile with the empty shelf, and the sales guy told us that what the website says is never right, and doesn't account for broken inventory. Soooo, you broke 20+ cases? My hubs and I went on our own search and eventually found it by looking at random stacks of tile around the store. At that point I didn't even want to give a single dollar to this company but bought what we found and needed. I will not go back in the future for the rest of the tile I need for the job. I would rather pay a little more for better customer service and inventory management. read more

After looking at several other DIY flooring retailers in the area, I finally stumbled into Floor and Decor only to be awestruck by their giant flooring samples and large selection. We had great customer service throughout our shopping adventure - including emails back and forth with the manager to figure out ordering logistics. Today Craig helped us finalize everything we needed. He was both friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend stopping into the store. They also have an incredible selection of tile. read more

Felicia saved the day! I placed an order online where all product was in stock and waited until the following day to do an online chat with customer service. Customer service told me my order wasn't filled yet but I should text back later. Since I was supposed to be able to pick up same day I told her the situation and she called the Tukwila store for me. She said that I could go pick up anytime before 4pm but would have to wait. Called the store myself and spoke with Felicia who said she would check on my order and call me back. I didn't think she would call me back but did five minutes later. She said she spoke with the warehouse and they were picking my order. Inventory is spotty, but wanted to review given the exceptional customer service from both Julie Ann and Victor. Julie Ann was having problems with the inventory in the system and went all over the store to personally verify my selections were in stock. At the very end of the day Victor went above and beyond to not only load (alot) of heavy 24 x 24 tiles but even loaded it in my car for me. read more

Great first time experience. This is the Disneyland of tile and flooring. Made a design appointment with Emily and she was fantastic and such a great help. I was able to pick out a kitchen backsplash and some bathroom tile after buying some samples. Look forward to seeing Emily again soon for more great ideas. read more

It a huge store with thousand of floor materials on display. Yes I mean for display. This store look like an over stock or discontinue products are sold here. Once it is sold there will be no more. 1 - Customer service is excellent 2 - Too many employees for a limited available products (Cider Birch Smooth Solid Hardwood SKU: 100342526 & SKU: 100417153 & SKU: 942700537 ) I went to store 5 times and asked the store manager to order 1500 SF they have none. I tried 10 other solid hardwood and they cannot order because they have none. What ever they have in store are what you can buy. If you are short a few square feet then you are screw. Builder direct and lumber liquidator are the best store to buy hardwood. read more

I had an excellent customer service experience today with Laura Drury. Laura helped with my multiple purchases at the Pro Desk and went way beyond the call of duty. From fetching a cart from outside (all the carts within were being used) to walking back to the Stone Ledger section to do a physical product check for me, she did it with professionalism and a positive attitude. We couldn't have done any of this without the terrific advice and guidance of Craig, in the flooring department. He showed us different options for our budget and gave us plenty of solid advice. When I walked in I was overwhelmed with the size of the place and what appeared to be an unlimited number of choices. We walked in the door it was just so overwhelming just to walk in and look I almost walked right back out BUT a manager (whose name I cannot remember) helped us out and pointed us back to flooring where we met Craig. I went to pick up tile for a fireplace which floor decor was holding for me. When I arrived I was helped by Tina and she helped me with the order. She was so helpful and courteous. We found out that it would take some time to pull the order and I was needing to go to an appointment. So Tina helped me get the tile and she pulled the other things I needed, loaded the skid, checked me out and then helped me load it into my car. I have been shopping flooring for a while, kept finding myself going back to Floor & Decor because of the selection. BUT I had an awful experience and will never purchase anything at Floor & Decor. First, shopping - if you can find an associate they will give you the quickest answer possible and move on. Found a flooring we liked, this is when things went down hill. Second, trying to purchase - I get everything in my cart online and all set up to purchase and pick up that day. I see a 0% credit offer that I don't require but figure why not. Apply online and see the credit inquiry almost immediately through other means but their site says AFTER you apply that it will take 10-14 days for me to get a letter in the MAIL. Makes 0 sense given I applied online and I have items in my cart. Give it a few days, get 0 emails or anything even confirming I applied. Absolutely nothing from Floor & Decor. Call customer service to check the status. Transferred 3 times only & on hold for about an hour for them to tell me to wait 7-10 business days after first telling me to go to the store to check the status.....maybe. What credit app takes 7-10 days nowadays? Call the actual store and the phone rings literally 100 times before someone answers and immediately places me on hold for another 20 minutes. Ask if they can check the status so I can buy my flooring, they simply state approvals are instant and there is no reason to check I should just come in. Refuse to check. I go in, load all 26 boxes of my flooring up by myself (no associates in sight) and have to seek out a reluctant associate to help me get an install kit but he was helpful eventually. Cashier says they won't know about the financing until they ring it up. Look up by my Drivers license and last 4 of SSN - no application found. Try again - nothing. Call someone, they ask me for all kinds of info including my SSN (in the middle of a store!!!) only to also not find it and tell me I was likely declined. I have NEVER EVER been declined and watch my credit like a hawk so I think not! I could not in good conscience proceed with this purchase and walked out. I didn't REQUIRE financing but if this is how they handle something that is super simple every where else, I just couldn't give them my business. The cashier in my final frustrating experience was good and did everything she could but that is the ONLY person I found useful in this whole interaction. Felt bad for her.
