First time dining at Flora with a friend, was able to make reservations for Sunday morning on OpenTable the day prior. They want your entire party present before seating. Staff were all professional and friendly (must have interacted with 5+), service was excellent, restaurant and bathroom were spotless. My friend had the zucchini blossom and loved it, cleaned his plate. His coffee and my iced coffee (drink black and be picky about) were great. Flora shouldn't be penalized for taking a risk that works (just not to my preferences), but for picky eaters I'll share: the waiter warned me their Eggs Benedict had whipped hollandaise and that it wasn't as (temperature) hot as one might be used to -- I excitedly replied "bring it on, with fruit instead of the potatoes, please". While it was exactly as described, beautifully prepared, when I took my first bite to sample the english muffin + ham + hollandaise (hadn't punctured the yolk yet) I crashed into multiple realities: the whipped hollandaise was indeed warm-not-hot, tasted good, but I was struck suddenly with the reality that usually 70% of the hollandaise stays on the plate but now 100% can go down your gullet without the licking the plate. My usual brunch go-to was suddenly an order of magnitude more food than I planned. The fruit - strawberries and blueberries and blackberries -- all fresh/ripe/sweet. I picked at that for a few minutes while pondering the eggs (and sour stomach I had that morning) and eventually waited too long that by my second I'd let them get cold and wasn't really hungry. They deserve to be devoured. Also IMO often with Eggs Benny the English Muffin is under-toasted (sometimes un-toasted!) which reduces its ability to soak-up the yolk and makes it harder to cut as you work your way through it. The muffin rarely gets cold b/c it gets heat from the plate and the Canadian bacon and the eggs and hollandaise - but not in this preparation. Left to me, I'd much prefer this: muffin toasted longer, served on a hotter plate, covered with a metal room-service cover until table-side, along with a much bigger appetite than I brought. I'm sure plenty of people love this preparation, and I encourage everyone to try it. My "It's not you / it's me" reaction to the Eggs Benedict isn't passive, if it landed cold or tasted ick I would have sent it back. When the staff checked in (more than once) I told them everything was fine. When they asked to clear my plate they inquired and I assured them it was fine. The last thing the waiter asked was what else could he get me [paraphrase but it wasn't "would you like anything else?" It was more active language "what else can I bring you from the kitchen?" - a subtle distinction with a difference , give him a raise)]. I watched him have a brief conversation with the manager, after which he came over and introduced himself and asked about the eggs and I outlined what I said above (without my asshole editorial "what I would do") and told him the other dish was excellent, mine wasn't what I was expecting even though it was explained to me, entirely on me. The exchange with him was brief and pleasant and he let me know that he had comped my meal, which I was not expecting but I appreciated. If I owned a restaurant, this is exactly how I'd want my staff to run it. I doubt everyone wanted to be there this morning, but they sure seemed like they did and made us feel welcome without being goofy. Everyone was working, the restaurant was bustling and spotless. They were serving sophisticated food and taking chances. But most important (irreplaceable by AI and kiosks), the staff was paying attention to their guests and sused out something wasn't a home run, and kept asking how/if they could make it better. My next visit to Flora won't be because I got comped, it will be because the wait staff and manager cared about our entire experience at their adorable restaurant and kept asking how they could make it even better.
Came to Flora with 4 of us for brunch. The space is cute and the service was good, but overall the food was pretty hit or miss for me. Turkish Eggs: This was different and unique! It was okay, but I wish they gave more toast because there was still a good amount of yogurt left for dipping. Fettuccine Pink Vodka: Unfortunately, this was pretty bland and not something I'd recommend. It definitely needed more salt or flavor haha. I added chicken for an extra $6, bringing it to $28 total, which felt overpriced for the quality. Flora Charcuterie ($62): This was also pretty overpriced for what you get. Everything tasted just okay and the spread didn't feel particularly substantial or special. Our daily muffins happened to be chocolate, which is probably my least favorite muffin flavor haha. There was also a waffle and other smaller items that just didn't feel like they added up to a $62 board. The Flora potatoes were the standout though! They were crispy and well seasoned with really good flavor. Iced Whipped Dalgona Coffee: This was actually quite good. The whipped coffee had a nice, slightly bitter coffee flavor that I really enjoyed. My friend ordered a hot latte and said it wasn't hot enough when it came out. Service was good and the restaurant is definitely busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation. Parking can also be a pain - you'd be lucky to find street parking, so be prepared to use a paid parking lot. Overall, cute brunch spot with some unique menu items, but for the prices, I expected the food to be better.
i had the bananas foster french toast i've never seen that in my life so was very excited to order it, it was a little dry but very delicious i wish they added some more bananas to it. the service was fast and friendly even though they were busy. it was a little loud but it's understandable since it was very busy. the latte was so foamy and delightful shoutout to the barista
Stopped by here for breakfast during restaurant week. They have a nice outdoor patio and the design of the place is amazing! Colorful interior and beautiful artwork on the walls. Service was good! We were greeted quickly and our waiter provided great service. The food was delicious. They have a variety of unique menu items, so it's not just your usual breakfast joint. I had the Turkish eggs, and I ate it all! They put these cute little touches on the drinks. I loved the little note that came clipped to the glass. Definitely recommend this place and I will eat here again.
Went here on Labor Day and had a stellar time. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was dynamite!! It came with a hasselback potato that was a little on the small side. My lunch mate got the steak and eggs and it looked amazing. We each got an iced latte that was good It's very cutely decorated and I LOVE the wallpaper All the stuff were very nice and helpful and very friendly I definitely would come back here. When we got there, there was about 15 people waiting for a table, but we luckily made reservations. I would recommend reservations. It is North Park so it's street parking. It is an inside outside restaurant so there was no air-conditioning so it was a little warm But overall fantastic restaurant would definitely go back
Flora is such a beautiful restaurant! The decor is absolutely gorgeous and creates such a pretty, inviting atmosphere. We came on a Saturday without reservations and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away! They have both indoor and outdoor seating if you have a preference. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our food came out promptly. Everything about the experience was smooth and enjoyable. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for somewhere with beautiful ambiance, good service, and a lovely overall vibe. I would definitely come back!
Restaurant week brought us here, and I'm so glad! This place is so cutie! Who doesn't love overalls for the staff uniform!! I love the European vibe and our server Luca, from Naples, was so lovely and helpful. We had an awesome experience. It started with the coffee that was included in the Restaurant Week menu. So wonderful and gave me a great kick all day! My bf got the Turkish eggs-that yogurt was so tangy and delish! I had the steak sandwich and it was so tender and tasted terrific! The steak sandwich also included a yummy Parmesan potato. We ended the meal with the Nutella (and strawberry!) crepe and the Banana Foster French toast. Both were fantastic, but if I had to choose my favorite, it would have to be that crepe! It was piled so high and it was so wonderful. There were some crunchy bits and a wonderful fresh whipped cream finish! I'll be back Flora, I promise!!
Made reservations and got seated pretty fast. The service was great and didn't have to wait a long time for our drinks ir food! Our waiter was really nice and helpful! The food was delicious! The ambiance was pretty cool. I loved the decor and the vibe. Would definately come back!
Landed here for brunch while visiting San Diego. When I say you need to come here I mean it! Mandatory. Such a yummy brunch everything HIT. THE CANTALOUPE & OLIVE OIL MARTINI?!? Amazing. Service was great and the staff were sweet with great recommendations. Inside decor was super cute. Bright lighting great for pics. Waited for about 15 mins for our table. Would def visit again.
Stopped by cause we were hungry. We all ended up getting the same plate: ZUCCHINI BLOSSOM FRITTATA. I was expecting something "different" but it was a miss. Like, just because you put zucchini inside the egg (or basically mix it in there) doesn't really make this dish different. I'm not understanding where this whole "creativity" comes from. I guess I'm just not understanding their menu either as I'm having trouble understanding what the place is all about. The menu felt like it was a mixture of Mexican Turkish American - it just didn't make sense.
I really loved the vibe and aesthetic of Flora, and the service was wonderful. Unfortunately, the food was just average for me. I really enjoyed the whipped dalgona drink, it was so tasty and strong. I ordered the chilaquiles with carnitas, which was just ok. My friend had the salmon toast with poached egg, but the salmon was way too salty. Overall, a super cute spot with great drinks and atmosphere.
Fun brunch spot! The decor inside is def catered to the instagram crowd. It was a good thing I made a reservation for the weekend because it gets very busy. Parking was relatively easy to find on the streets. The steak burrito and berry french toast are my faves! Not usually a sweet brunch person but I really liked the fresh berry toppings. Despite it being busy, I had amazing service from the female server that worked on 6/20.
The dalgona coffee was a standout for me personally! Very creamy would recommend :) The food was also amazing!! We got the shakshuka eggs and smoke salmon Benedict which were incredible. The decor and vibes were very lovely, would recommend for brunch :) Shoutout to Paulo for always checking in on us and our food, awesome server!

This is a new brunch and dinner spot in north park. The interior is cute. What caught my eyes was the matcha espresso martini. It's the best I ever had! I can drink it every day if I could. As for food, my cousin and I tried non traditional brunch food and I think that's where we made the mistake. Next time I would try something different. But the drinks so good!! read more

Visited Flora with my boyfriend for his birthday and a belated Valentine's Day brunch. I wanted a cocktail so I tried the matcha espresso martini which has now usurped a normal espresso martini for me. We ended up getting the shakshuka and the fried rice with bacon for our entrees and closed everything out with a lovely Nutella crepe. I preferred the crepe to the complimentary custard/pudding they brought but my boyfriend LOVED it. Overall, service was fine and the interior decor served up a very cute, eclectic vibe. I loved looking at all the art on the walls. Hopefully we will be back to try the charcuterie, it looks awesome! read more

Cute new brunch place in North Park! Very Instagrammable with patio umbrellas and flowers everywhere. Horrible parking given the location but plenty of wonderful seating. Amazing attentive service by all the staff members. The food presentation was beautiful but don't get the breakfast carbonara--it's too cheesy with a strange bitter aftertaste. The berry French toast had Brie inside which was interesting. You can turn any drink into a mocktail which was nice. read more

The steak sandwich was delicious. Huge portion, but I ate every bite. Three stars because I stood by the host stand for quite a while before I was acknowledged. It was also very loud. I couldn't hear the people sitting across from me at my table. read more

Mixed review actually closer to 3.5. Came Sat late morning and there was a choice of seating. Space was nicely decorated but interior is open, so it got noisy as it filled. Ordered the fried zucchini blossom frittata and it was neatly prepared but tasted unremarkable. Menu seems misleading in listing only zucchini blossom, whereas it seemed to be all zucchini with no detectable blossom. Half of filling was purple zucchini, other half was those small green zucchini that usually have as much blossom attached to them, not those blossoms seemed absent. Looking at other photos, mine seemed to be their usual prep, not an exception. Service was attentive, maybe a bit over the top so I felt probably unintentionally rushed, though they never did anything to rush me and were very polite at all times. Flora is a part of a restaurant group which includes Roman Wolves and Rustic Cocina. Got a reservation online and went this past weekend. We went closer to closing so there were plenty of tables. The decor was fun and vibrant and the staff was very welcoming. I got a delicious blackberry basil drink that had a golden ticket for a free drink which was an unexpected surprise! We ordered the "flora charcuterie" which came with enough food for 3 people at least and I felt was reasonably priced at $62. We also got the Turkish eggs which were delicious. There was a ton of food so they were nice enough to give us an extra table for our spread. I will definitely go back again! read more

Our family was visiting San Diego for Christmas and this was one of the few places that was open! They were easily able to accommodate our large party of 8. Food tasted great with amazing presentation. Highly recommend the charcuterie set. The matcha waffles aren't too matcha forward. Still good! But don't expect a strong matcha flavor. The one thing is that one of our dishes (steak and eggs) came out by the time we finished all of our food. They were very apologetic, which was appreciated but it would have been nice to have better timing. The interior and exterior is beautiful and it's the perfect brunch spot for the girls. read more

On their website, it says there's a happy hour from 4 to 5 PM but their hours say that they close at 3 o'clock so I'm just confused when does happy hour happen?
They used to have longer business hours with Happy Hour but not anymore. They close at 3pm...only do brunch now.
How are the parking options when dining here?
Parking is a challenge. I drove around for about 10 minutes on a Saturday morning and found one in a residential area about a 7 minute walk to the restaurant. My dining partners paid to park their car nearby.
