The place is cute, our server was very attentive and friendly, and we got to speak to the Chef/Owner who explained to us where his recipes come from. He even let us know about other restaurants he owns, I def want to try. We ordered the Chilaquiles with salsa verde and steak. The chilaquiles were pretty great, I love that the sauce was not spicy, there was enough sauce coating my chilaquiles and you can definitely share the plate. Not a dry chip at all! My mom got the Pork Belly plate, as person who doesn't like Pork Belly, they had great flavor and omg the potatoes that came with it were so tasty!! I also tried the Blue Berry Matcha with oak milk and 10/10 recommend. New brunch place in my neighborhood. For a party of 3 the wait time was about 45 minutes. However, once we were seated our waitress Yusvel was very sweet, attentive and friendly. Excited to try this spot, it was all over IG. Visited during the week there was a long wait, which is understandable because the restaurant was full. We were a party of 3. They began sitting people, then there was a mixup of the next party to be called. They were definitely upset. Soon a guy walked up out of nowhere, walked up to the counter went back out to his car his party walked up to the door. The same guy walked back out saying "the guy knows " they will be sitting us right now. So me and my sister looked at each other like wait what? Where did this guy come from.... I would like to start by saying that upon arrival when ordering we were told multiple times of what we were ordering that items were not available on the menu today. After ordering a coffee with oat milk they came back to me 10 minutes later to tell me that they were out of oat milk. We ordered the pancakes and chilaquiles, (which were $18 already), we added eggs into our plate because it is not included on the chilaquiles plate, also chicken. We were surprised once we received our bill that the eggs were $6 extra also chicken was $7. So technically a plate of chilaquiles were a whopping $31. We had gotten our meal to go and after receiving our food I asked for a receipt since it wasn't offered to me and I was told by the waitress that the manager was not in todaso they are not able to print out a receipt. Now as for the food tasting itself, the pancakes were good. Also, the Chilaquiles were a seven out of 10. But in person experience was not so great, a bit too overpriced. Today I decided to try out a new local brunch spot after seeing it on social media. I'm always supportive of new local businesses, so I was excited to check it out--especially since South Gate doesn't have a lot of diverse food options. Fortunately, I was by myself, so I was able to bypass the long wait. I was seated at the counter outside in the front. Just something to be aware of--the front area is also where people tend to gather while waiting to be seated. Many people lean on the counter while they wait, which could potentially lead to someone accidentally bumping or spilling your food or drink. I really don't have any complaints about the service I received. However, after looking through the menu, I realized the prices didn't seem very aligned with the local demographic. For example, French toast and pancakes were around $20. I ended up ordering the steak omelette. The food was okay, but in my opinion it wasn't worth the $32 price. Unfortunately, I probably won't be going back. That said, I truly wish the owners the best of luck and hope their business is successful for many years to come. read more

The waitress were nice very polite and took our order right away. We were there super early only one other family was there before us. we would have thought since its not busy at all we would get great fresh food but unfortunately our whole order was wrong. I asked for my chilaquiles with no onion and they added onions on top so I decided to remove them and not make it a big deal. I asked for my eggs over medium and my steak well done, and they brough my eggs with a super hard yolk (over hard) and the steak was medium rare. as I was paying and getting ready to leave I brought it up with the cashier/waitress and she showed me the order she placed and she did put my order in as I asked. We were excited to come to this new brunch spot because it seemed so creative and an homage to my comfort foods but the execution didn't match our expectations. We had both the creme brulee french toast and the carne asada pop tart. The creme brulee french toast: had too much whipped cream and it masked how little blueberry compote and custard there was. There was so much whipped cream we could barely taste it and had to look for it. The custard and compote were good but it didn't have enough to savor which was really disappointing. The custard was also not brulee'd which was disappointing. The al pastor pop tart: comes really hot so be careful! It's really good but there is barely any meat and most of it was really fatty which could be expected for pork belly but was still unpleasant for us at least. We had about a total of 4 small, thin strips of meat, honestly nothing. Overall, every individual component was good and delicious but the amount you get isn't worth it and the overall "main components" of the dish like the al pastor and the creme brulee/blueberry compote were so little or hidden you can't taste them and appreciate them. It's unfortunate because they have so much potential. The service was okay. As a professional in hospitality, I would say they weren't ready. The food came seperately which isn't too bad but by the time the other dish came, we were already done with the first which seems to have been a problem for another reviewer. In this case we shared the dishes but if we hadn't my partner would habe finished his food before I did which kills the vibe we think. The server was nice but not very attentive. The service is less important to us than the food. We come here for food and we felt like it missed the mark. The food is "Instagramable" but barely edible. The waitresses were friendly, but that wasn't enough to make the food taste better. The ambiance was a clean and inviting place.
