creatively delicious mexican inspired brunch everything was genuinely reallyyyy good what we got: pop tart benedict: chile relleno & eggs benedict fresas con crema souffle pancakes coconut matcha horchata souffle pancakes flori steak omelette mexican mocha latte banana bread latte i know i already said it but everything was SO GOOD!! the chile rellano pop tart was like a savory breakfast pastry, but it was big and filling and SOOO flavorful!!! it wasn't spicy at all despite the chile in its name. i would highly recommend this one! the souffle pancakes were more dense than your typical japanese souffle pancakes, but they were super yummy! the normal cream and the flavored creams were soooo good and made for the perfect sweet treat for breakfast. these are a must if you come here. the omelette was made super well. i typically don't care to get omelettes but im so glad i got this one it was delicious, cheesy and the steak was so good! the mexican mocha was a latte with mexican chocolate! so like a unique tasting chocolate coffee. the banana bread latte was delishhh i'd honestly recommend everything i got i loved it all! if i had to pick tho, maybe the pop tart and the matcha pancake. but you can't go wrong with any of them!!! the space is somewhat small, but it doesn't feel that way! the seating and wall space is very cute and the music they play is lively and fun. the staff is very nice! there is street parking and back lot parking. they offer gift card where you can load $50-100 on it to make for the perfect gift i'm so glad i tried this spot out

I absolutely love Flori Brunch! From the drinks, to the food, to the service & atmosphere, everything was amazing! We ordered the Mexican mocha, banana bread latte, chilaquiles verdes, tiramisu french toast, & pop tart benedic. The pop tart benedict was a crazy concept but it was so so good! My bf loved his chilaquiles too. The french toast was delicious as well. We also enjoyed the drinks, the Mexican Mocha was made with Abuelitas and it was delicious! One thing to note, they make everything from scratch so some items may take a while to make. They do note this on their menu and have a sign up as well. If you are someone who doesn't like waiting long for their food, order something off the menu that won't take as long! But we didn't mind the wait, everything tasted amazing!

Free parking in the back and friendly staff! Note : drinks are on the sweeter side Coconut Horchata Matcha Pancakes - toasted coconut chips with matcha crepe and horchata syrup. Hybrid between Japanese soufflé and traditional oven baked soufflé. Not strong matcha but love the horchata syrup. Unique idea and flavor. Cake itself is like a sponge like texture. Comes with caramelized/bruleed bananas Crème brûlée French toast - brioche bread with blueberry compote and vanilla custard - sweet flavor was stronger here than the pancakes in my opinion even without the syrup Banana bread latte - amazing sweet flavor with a light cream top- I would add an extra espresso shot for this one Mexican Mocha Latte - surprise by the great balance from the espresso and mocha syrup. Add the pistachio cream top for extra creaminess Spritz drinks -- Pepino Garden- cucumber, lime, mint, sparkling water. Super refreshing Guava glow - guava coconut lime sparkling topped with a cute strawberry piece. Subtle guava flavor - elevated version of the pink drink at Starbucks Pop tart Benedict - Chile Relleno and Eggs Think flaky puff pastry like a pop tart but with Benedict style ingredients. Loved the flavor here - creamy, flaky. Came with tangy red salsa. Chicken Fajitas Omelette - with salad has drizzle of maple syrup pairs well with savory omelette

This is a small cozy brunch place where everyone one was fast, friendly and kind. Amazing customer service definitely recommended and will be coming back to try other items in their menu. Everything was delicious specially the chilaquiles and Tasajo best ones by far that I've tried. Our servers Elizabeth and Edgar were amazing. Make sure to ask for them.

When we arrived on Saturday morning it was no busy so we got a table right away. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We tried their chilaquiles which were good. Also ordered the strawberry fluffy pancakes which were not what I expected. They do look nice for a picture but the pancakes it self dont have much flavor.

Carne Asada wet burrito! Excellence taste.

Okay so this place is new to South Gate and I think they've done a great job at advertising themselves. They've been all over my fyp and the food looks incredible so I had to give it a try. Coffee 6.5/10 We ordered the cafe de olla, banana bread latte, and the Mexican mocha latte. The cafe de olla was delicious...a little sweeter than I've had but still, very very tasty. The other two iced coffees, were unfortunately not my favorite. The banana bread latte had a very subtle banana taste but was very sweet. I didn't really taste the coffee at all. The Mexican mocha was very sweet as well but the coffee did come through a bit more. I'd definitely stick to their cafe de olla or a simpler coffee if you don't want just milk and sugar. Food 8.5/10 So the selling point is their Soufflé pancakes..that's what I've been seeing all over my social media and we tried them. We ordered the fresas con crema pancakes and we were very disappointed. These are not at all soufflé pancakes. They're not light or airy. These have more of a cake consistency. The toppings and whipped cream was good and overall, it's tasty, but they're not exactly what they're being marketed as. We also ordered the Flori Breakfast Plate that had 2 eggs, maple bacon, house potatoes and side of fruit. This was good! The bacon is thick! Potatoes are very well seasoned. The last item we ordered was the steak and eggs burrito. This came with Eggs, Pico De Gallo, Rice, Beans, Steak, Roasted Green Salsa, Guacamole, Crema, and Monterey Jack. Very good and a pretty decent size! We were def full from this. I think the food items are good and tasty. The table next to us ordered the chilaquiles and they looked stacked! I definitely would come back to try other items but wouldn't order the soufflé pancakes again. Those, I think are hyped and not at all good. I do think it's a good place to eat BUT def. not worth the hours wait I've been reading some people have waited. Maybe I'd wait 30ish minutes but definitely not 1-4 hours. Vibes/Ambiance : 8.5/10 We came on a Saturday morning right when they opened at 8am and we waited maybe 5 min to be seated. There were already 2 parties ahead of us. The space itself is very cutesy. Decorated just as you'd imagine a brunch spot to be. I do wish there was music? Some type of hype vibe...but that's definitely a personal preference. They do have a "bar" area outside but you're exposed to everyone waiting in line. The service was good. Our server was friendly. By the time we left, there were a lot of people outside waiting. I overheard someone say the wait time was already an hour and it was barely 9:10am. Definitely get here early if you don't want to wait..and if you get there and the wait time is already over an hour...save your time and come early some other day lol Oh and there's plenty of parking! That's a huge plus! Overall it's a tasty restaurant and I'm happy to see new options open up in SELA! We've always had to drive to other cities for things such as brunch so I definitely see potential here.

Yes... I've been influenced by TikTok again. It really pays to know how to film your food because one cute little video later, I was completely sold. Next thing you know, I'm loading up the whole family and driving to South Gate for brunch. And yes... today I was that girl. Wearing my pink birthday crown and my sash that proudly announced it was my birthday. Honestly, I'm just as surprised as anyone that I was the one suggesting we head to South Gate, but was it the wrong decision? Absolutely not.FLORI completely exceeded my expectations. The food was rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented. Everything felt so decadent that it truly gave off birthday celebration vibes, even though it's the kind of place you can enjoy any day of the year.I met up with my friend, her mom, my stepdad, and my beautiful mom for brunch, and we all had such a wonderful time together. The only thing missing was mimosas for everyone else (I'm sober, so I didn't mind one bit), but FLORI more than made up for it with their specialty drinks and an incredible café de la olla--the traditional Mexican "coffee from the pot." It was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. Our waitress was the sweetest! She looked at my mom and told me, "You have a baddie mom." She wasn't wrong--I do have a super hot mom! With service that genuine and compliments like that, how could you not want to keep coming back?Great food, beautiful atmosphere, friendly service, and a brunch that truly felt like a celebration. Five stars without hesitation.

We are puzzled as to why this establishment does not have a 5-star rating, given that every dish we sampled was exceptional and our server, Elizabeth, was outstanding from start to finish; we also appreciated the complimentary drink.

Flori Brunch just opened up in South Gate and we were there for soft opening. As you walk in, they got beautiful floral decor (make it great for pictures), good amount of sitting, and looks pretty trendy. Service is great. We were seated right away, order was taken in right amount of time and food and drinks came out in timely manner. Menu is super appealing, and we ended up ordering bunch of different food to try. We tried: Banana Bread Latte and Flori Dirty Matcha: Both were made at perfect temperature. Very flavorful and they were able to make it less sweet. Pop tarts: One with birria and other with chilli relleno. Both were delicious. The pop tart concept was pretty cool. Poached eggs and sauce on top of it made it taste delicious. Chicken and Waffles: Super tender and crispy from the outside! They got it right. Omelette: Their omelette was delicious. Super fluffy from the inside. Their potatoes and salsa are to the point. Everything was paired perfectly. For dessert we tried French toast: This was absolutely amazing. Their bread was to die for. And that mountain full of whipped cream - super tasty. Highly recommend (but you will need few people to finish it) We met the chef and they had off the menu caviar and truffle avocado toast - they absolutely delivered on this one. They went above and beyond on this dish with all extra goodies on it. Overall, we had great time trying food on their menu and I can tell this place is going to be popping over the weekend. We will be coming back to try other dishes on their menu. Highly recommended this place.

Amazing service! Karla was super sweet and checked to make sure we got all we wanted. The food was as delicious as it looked! I got the chilaquiles verdes and they had the perfect spice, super cutsey and I love how aesthetically pleasing everything looks, super cute for pics which is a plus!!!

Flori Brunch was such a pleasant surprise for South LA. I stopped by while running errands nearby and ended up really enjoying the experience. The space is small but very cozy and well done, with indoor seating, a nice bar-style counter area to sit and eat, plus outdoor patio seating facing the street if you want some fresh air. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and the portions were surprisingly generous. I had the crème brûlée French toast and another dish that was like an omelette with a chile relleno inside, both were absolutely delicious. Their coffee selection was also really good. It's nice to see more brunch/café spots like this in the area. Definitely worth checking out if you're nearby

Rami was super helpful and friendly, going over some of the popular dessert and drink options. Since I came in the evening, a few of the desserts were already gone. The earlier you come, the more dessert options you'll have. They also have all day breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu which I did not try, but everything looked super tasty. I got a few desserts and a matcha strawberry foam latte (they use ceremonial grade matcha) and the biscoff latte. Loved that both weren't overly sweet and the biscoff latte had a rich coffee taste. My favorite dessert by far was the banana mousse. By the time we left, the line was out the door. Even though it was packed, the servers are super friendly and take the time to make sure you're enjoying yourself. Definitely a must try place if you're in Downey. No need to go to LA to try those over hyped dessert places. One Twelve Cafe does it just as good, if not better and they have many more tasty options to choose from.

There's a lot I want to say about this spot but I'm a try and keep it short lol…read more My first time visiting was this past Sunday, May 31st. I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. Prices are reasonable and the community is welcoming to all individuals.

I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!
