Usually frequent the Preston/Royal location and it's always spot on. Last night we were in the Addison area so came to this one. They were pretty decently busy for a Thursday evening. Food took a little longer than usual but I get it was cold out and they were busier. They handed our 2 plates over to the runner and she kind of glanced at it and had a few second convo with I am guessing the expo person. The chicken meal I ordered had a tiny amount of chicken (pretty sure kids meal had more), but it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the broccoli was so charred/burnt that it was almost inedible & the Mac and cheese was so overcooked it resembled rice and total mush. The kids meal chicken & broccoli were perfect (minus the same issue with mac and cheese). I think they definitely noticed the meal was off but decided to send it out anyways. Had I not had kiddos with me & really zero desire to wait around for them to fix it I would have sent it back VS just asking for a to go container. I will continue to frequent the Preston Royal location but can't be sure I will return to Addison one. read more

If you are a fan of true food, don't miss out this place. They just recently open this location in Addison ( first one at the love lane) and has already been a huge hit. Was there during the lunch time and it was crowded already considering they just opened this location not long ago! I ordered their plate with three items - Advocado, yuzu brussel sprouts, and squash. I strongly recommend the brussel sprouts. It's just beyond amazing. Pros and cons First I'll start by say I REALLY like Flower child. I've had issues with this location in the past, and then it became my favorite. This is because it was so inconsistent then it was great for a long time. For some reason it seems they have a high turnover with cooks etc. That's not why I'm writing this review. If something is ever wrong, they will fix it. (4 stars) The purpose of writing review is because it seems at some point they had an issue with Covid. They shut down and it took me a while to visit again. When I did, I realized why they must've had the issue. Their cooks were wearing their masks below their nose. Covid disaster waiting to happen! I have pics I'll post I just have to find them in my phone. Anyway, I stopped visiting for another while. Went in yesterday and it was fine, masks were on properly. HOWEVER, their normally great tasting tea and lemonade were DISGUSTING. It tasted like they used unfiltered tap water/sewer water. I instantly felt sick to my stomach. My husbands stomach hurt for hours since he drank more than I did. I asked him if his tasted funny and he said it was so gross he couldn't finish it. He typically drinks two. Not sure what was wrong. I truly love this place but Please please please don't be careless during this pandemic. It's not worth risking people health. read more

I have been in Addison for a few months now and just had the worst restaurant experience yet here. I ordered a steak plate online for pick up and when I got home I saw it had absolutely zero steak. I went back and said something and they were rude both times, when I picked up originally and when I went back to complain about no steak. They then proceeded to give me new steak that one of the workers carried over in a napkin. I don't know what happened to customer service these days but this place needs to step it up. read more

This place has impressed me every time I go! I love that you can choose to have protein added but the dishes really don't even need it. They're sooooo robust in flavors. My son cleans his kid's plates every time too! I had the Thai cashews and snap peas with quinoa plate topped with salmon the first time and the mother Earther the time after that. On top of the food menu, I love the lemonades and specialty teas too. The restaurants atmosphere is pretty chilled. You walk in, order at the register and they give you a table number and you seat yourself. They also have etch-a-sketch and colors for the kids to keep busy. read more

A now-international pescatarian friend picked this restaurant for a mini-reunion dinner on a Tuesday. We were easily able to secure a table on the patio, but it was nearly full and bustling on the inside. The entire restaurant had a wonderful Austin/Boulder vibe with murals, recycling bins and pick-your-own silverware (chopsticks too). We ordered in pairs (to keep our table) at the front counter. The women at the front were very helpful in explaining the menu--everything sounded so fresh and delicious! I also ordered a beer with lemonade (serve yourself non-alcoholic), and got the lemonade for free b/c I asked after paying, by accident. I had the Glow Bowl with chicken (a la carte, extra $3.99) and the rest of the table went tofu and full veggie. Our meals were brought out to us fairly quickly for how busy they were. I loved the mix of flavors in my bowl! I had sweet potato noodles, sunflower butter, coconut milk, mix veggies and a dash of spice (can't remember which). The chicken was just moist enough to not be dry and was a good-sized portion. The "skinny" beer mixed very well with the rose lemonade. I ate slowly and managed to have half the meal leftover for Wednesday's lunch. With beer and chicken add-ons, my meal was $22.11. Hence the 4 stars. Salmon and beef would've been pricier, but everything WAS delicious. read more

Flower Child is about as healthy as it gets for dining out! I've been here on two occasions; the first was for a work lunch and the other I ordered food online to pick up. For the work lunch, we arrived around 11:30 AM and were able to find seating without issue. I should note that by the time we left there was quite the line winding through the restaurant and seating was scarce. My online ordering experience was simple and my food was ready by the time I arrived. There is a shelf by the front door with the to-go orders available making it easy to swing by and pick it up. The reason I am giving only 4 stars is the high cost and the time it took for them to serve our order. It appeared that others who arrived after us were given their orders ahead of us. I was so disappointed with Flower Child. I ordered the ginger miso crunch salad with added chicken and the Greek yogurt/feta dip with pita chips for takeout. The pita was burnt. The salad literally looked like my worst enemy prepared it for me over revenge they were attempting to exact on me. All the crunchy items were scarce and what little was in the bowl were all at the bottom. It was pretty non-existent--I found one cashew only, and it's called a "crunch" salad. It came with so little salad dressing, it was only enough for maybe a third of the salad, if that. The whole salad was extremely salty, to a point that I couldn't finish it. I paid $27 with extra pita, add-on chicken, tax and tip and threw half of the meal a way. The whole experience was upsetting, as I work nearby and had such high hopes. I'm an event manager/planner with a large company and was hoping Flower Child could be a future catering vendor. I won't be back nor recommend to clients.
